I have a column A with some dates at this format "dd-mm-yyyy hh-mm". In this list, some hours are missing, and I don't know which ones.
In order to find the missing hours, I created an additional column B, displaying all the hours, this way: B1=01-01-2006 00:00:00 o B1=A1
And then : B2=B1+"01:00:00"
Then, in column C, I compare both columns A and B: C1=IF(Value(B1)=Value(B2),ok,missing)
As a result, I first get some "ok", and then more and more "missing" statements, even though the dates look the same.
I checked the numerical values of my dates. At the first "missing" statement, I saw that there is a slight difference in the numerical values, at small decimals...
Can you tell me how to define my date /time in a good way, in order to avoid this kind of problems, please? (I could take the int part of the numbers, but this could lead to further errors, so I prefer to define my dates in the right way, from the beginning).
As you can see on the example i have TEST hours.xlsx, I have a file that calculate the money every doctor should take based on the working hours.
Nights, holidays and holiday night have different price/hour.
The excel is working fine…but now I have to make a formula that separates automatically based on the beginning time and the end time of the doctor’s shift the day hours tha night hours, the holiday hours and the holiday nights hours. In the excel I have fill the hours Manuscript, I need a formula to do that for me…
On the yellow cell I have try to find out the formula for the holiday hours but because the day is calculated due to a formula it is not working!!!
Simple Example: A doctor Is working from 21:00- 8:00 (next morning Sunday) he should have 1 simple hour (21:00-22:00) 9 night hours (22:00-6:00) and 2 holiday hours (6:00-8:00,)
I have a work book with 3 sheets. Sheet 1 is the main sheet and sheets 2 and 3 will use (I hope vlookup) to update 3 columns from info in sheet 1. my attempt at a vlookup call in sheet 2 is: =VLOOKUP($b3,[master_AoJ_2.xls]Sheet1!$B$3;$B$65,false)
my understanding is that: - $b3 is the cell in sheet 2 that will be updated as a result of the vlookup call. - [master_AoJ_2.xls]Sheet1!$B$3;$B$65 refers to range $B$3:$B$65 on sheet1 of master_AoJ_2. it does not work... infact I get nothing at all. when I type the call into cell $b3 of sheet2 excel thinks it is stariaght text. this is how I coded the function call =VLOOKUP($b3,[master_AoJ_2.xls]Sheet1!$B$3;$B$65,false)
In column A I have a date AND time entered. By the way, this is not via cell format, I have manually entered, say today's date and the current time. In column B I have a future date and time.
Basically, column A is the date and time a problem was given to me. Column B would be the date and time I resolved the problem. Now for the formula....Column C needs to spit out whether the problem was solved between 24 and 48 hours OR less than 24 hours OR greater than 48 hours.
Lunch is not paid. Holiday and vacation hours get calculated at the regular pay rate. Overtime is anything in excess of 8 hours per day and/or in excess of 40 hours per week and/or over 5 working days per week. Saturdays for most the employees will be overtime because it will be their 6th workday of the week; but it will be regular time for one employee as it will only be his 5th workday of the week.
For accounting and payroll purposes, we need the totals to display in both hour and decimal format.
So far, I have Lunch, Regular and Overtime hours figured out, but I still need to work with Saturday, Vacation and Holiday hours. Also, currently, the time in and out has to be typed in with the colon and AM or PM. Is there another way to input the info without having to type in those items? I'm trying to make it as user friendly as possible.
The below formulae allows me to see the difference between two dates and only returns the difference in working hours ie : Difference between 02/02/2010 08:00 & 03/02/2010 08:00 is 16 Hours 0 Minutes
=(INT(A3)-INT(C6))+MAX(MOD(A3,1)-MAX(MOD(C6,1)))
The following displays it in the Hrs and Mins format
I'm attempting to make a simple time sheet for a handful of employees. I'd like to enter the clock in time and clock out time for each day. The end cell should be the running total for the week. The tricky part for me is having the formula subtract an hour for each day that is over 5 hours.
ive got my highly expensive office enterprise 2007 disk what is the best way of installing this so i can still use 97 and 2007. any tips? i wont bother with outlook but i'd like to try the rest ,mind you onenote, infopath and groove are a complete mystery!

I'm having a bit of an issue with OWC in 2007. I know they have been deprecated but I was under the impression, form many places including MS themself, that you could install them. I downloaded this file
All seems to go well and there seems to be a appropriate .dll in c:Program FilesCommon FilesMicrosoft SharedWeb Components111033 by the name of OWCI11.DLL. However when I attempt to add a reference to that file in a VBA project in Excel (it's one that has an old broken reference to 2003 OWC) by browsing to that file it tells me
"Can't add a reference to the specified file"
What have I done wrong? Is what I am attempting, getting 2007 to use OWC, even possible? Note I did not write any of the code for this Excel Add-in so have very little idea about what OWC are for.
I have recently updated to Office 2007. I have about 50 forms with VBA in them (all excel) and I was careful to save them all back to 2003 office files. When one of my users opens the files and uses on of the internal userforms it errors out saying it is missing a reference.
I got a copy of Office 2007 and I am having some trouble running an Excel macro. It gives a 405 Error message. This macro runs fine on my Office 2003. Is there any extra setting that I need to do in the Excel 2007?
I create a vb script file using SAS that will open excel and create pivot tables. It works in XP but not in office 97. I am not a vb expert. Here is the code.
My organisation has ten small offices within a ten mile radius.
Most of the items to order are office supplies, along with order forms, catalogues, brochures and pro-formas.
Each office does not order the same items.
I would like to make a ‘generic’ supplies order in excel.
Column A = ‘in house’ code Column B = Description Columns C to G are size, colour, pack size etc. Column H = quantity held Column I = quantity required to hold Column J = amount to re-order.
I would like Excel to calculate
Amount to bring stock to hold - “=I4-h4” (in J4)
If Current Stock is more than Stock to Hold then ‘0’ is in J4, “=IF(H4<I4, I14-H14,0)” (in J4) I think.
If H4 is left blank then J4 to show “0” or ‘Blank’. (experiments have given J4 a figure of 25)
I have tried putting two formulas together, but Excel tells me I have ‘too many arguments’.
I have been working on a timesheet but the problem I have come across is calculating actual hours worked only in the core hours and any work outside the core hours is calculated in the outside hours column. A standard work day is 7.6 hours working between 8.30am and 5.00pm. However if someone was to commence work either before 6am or after 8pm this is outside of core hours. I have attached an example of my timesheet for you to see what I am talking about.
find a formula that will calculate the hours between the two below values but only take in to consideration the business hours (from 9 to 17) and exclude any weekends?
I have got a formula that can separate day shift hours from night hours, in this case night begins at 7pm to 7am, however the problem is after 12am we get into negative numbers, what formula would fix this and can be combined with the formulas below?
E10 = 19:00 or start of night time hours B3 = start time C3 = end time D3 = day hours workeds =24*IF(E10
A1 is 10 (10 hrs worked) , A2 is 10:30am (in time), A3 is 9:00pm (out time), A4 needs to be the total hours and minutes between A2 and A3 based on the hours listed in A-1. What i need is a formula that will calculate the hours and minutes between the 2 times based on hours entered in A1 but that will also compensate for a manadatory 30 minute lunch that needs to be deducted from the total hours if hrs listed in A1 are more than 6.
example: worked 10HRS, 10:30am to 9:00pm, Total hrs is 10hrs 30min, which should be just 10 since the lunch is a none work time and must be subtracted.
If a person worked more than 6hrs, they must take a lunch. if they worked less, than 6 then they don't have to. I need a calcuation to recognize the greater than, less than factor into the equasion also.
1) The output of an excel duration is : 22.00:8.00:25.00 ( day:hour:minutes ) - excel cannot average and work with this number format
2) resolution - =(LEFT(L2,4))+MID(L2, FIND(":",L2)+1,4)/24+MID(L2, FIND(":",L2,7)+1,4)/1440 as an array and Custom Format the cell as [h]:mm - works perfectly.
Q: to be conistent, the initial reporting is dd:hh:mm and then I convert to hh:mm so that excel can process the data. How can I convert from hh:mm to dd:hh:mm so that the excel report can be consistent in presenting the data to senior management?
Im looking to make a formula that states if b3 =10 then a. if b3=12 then b, if b3= 14, then c, if b3=16 then d. A, B, C, D are referring to links to another sheet.
In certain spreadsheets I have noticed a significant deterioration in save times. There may/may not have any formulas or macros on them and most are very small files 20-50kb. I notice that Excel puts a temporary file on the desktop while saving the original. The temp file goes away once the original is saved. While saving, I get the time icon which goes to beachball and it can take up to a minute to save the file. This happens on 2-3 Macs on network. Using 10.5
I have a scorecard created in excel 2007. All my end users are using excel 2002. Now I want to build a scorecard in Excel 2002 like what we have in excel 2007. Is it possible.
I want to display the traffic signals and 5 level indicators (arrows), based on conditional formatting.
This is out of box in excel 2007. But how do I achieve this in excel 2002? Is there a simple method?
Is it possible to determine the Version of Office / Outlook that is installed on a machine, an based on that, add a reference to the correct Microsoft Outlook com object library programatically?
I'm opening an Excel file that automatically attempts to update links when I open it, but I am not prompted with the choice to cancel, or update links, when I open the file, like I was in Office 2003.
I have checked the Excel Options, Advanced, General, 'Ask to update automatic links' box, but I still don't get the dialog box when I open the file.
The file is just riddled with VALUE errors. A colleague of mine who opens the file in Office 2003 can see all the data fine.
Can any Mac users out there confirm that if a sheet is protected that a user cannot group and ungroup rows using the "+" if the sheet is protected using the following...
With Sheet1 .Protect Password:="******", UserInterfaceOnly:=True .EnableOutlining = True End With
It works fine on my PC Office 2003 but I hear it won't work on a Mac but I can't confirm it.
