I have built a series of macros and want to be able to select from them in a drop down list. I can use a list or combo box to create the drop down list, but I am unsure how to write VBA to read the text and run the correlating macro (name of macro is identical to text shown in drop down list).
If this isn't possible, I would have to create a button for each of my 12 macros. How do I assign a macro to a button?
I have 6 macros recorded and I need to create a drop down list of macros so that I know what kind of Macro I am using.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a spreadsheet I use to track reprimands for our employees. Reprimand Counseling Spreadsheet Example.xlsm. Previously, I had to read the entire reprimand in order to determine the policy violation(s) and then manually enter those reasons into the cell. We have a new standardized form, where the manger selects the reason(s) for the reprimand. I wanted a drop down box that I could select multiple reasons for the reprimand and have all the reasons appear on the same line, as well as being able to remove a reason from the line by selecting it again (so I wouldn't have to start over, in case I selected the wrong reason). I was able to find this code, on [URL] .... to accomplish that.

I also need to be able to manual edit some of the reasons. For example "Missed Meal Period(s) #___". I will need to be able to edit that item to read "Missed Meal Period(s) #2". I was able to find this code, on the same website as the previous code, to accomplish that. However, this code includes a line break, which I do not want.

Since I need the code to work on each worksheet (CIVI - SOCR), will I have to enter the code on each worksheet or is there a better way to accomplish this? Is there a way to combine these two codes, while simultaneously removing the line break? I need to select multiple reprimand reasons in the same cell and edit the reasons, if necessary. I've read and reread that article for hours, but I can't get it to work.
Is there a way to hide a macro from the list where you choose which to run, but not in the VBA editor? The userbox I just created calls upon 2 different macros, and has a macro to bring up the userbox. I need a way to hide the macros in Module3 from selection, but keep the macros in Module4 available to choose to run.

Within the game there are a range of spawned resources that appear for only a short time before being unobtainable these resources have specific types that is shared between multiple spawns of the resource but each resource spawn has a unique name.
My first worksheet lists all the resources and their various qualities and the later worksheets are meant to allow me to choose from a list resources matching the requirements of the item I'm looking to craft. The example i have shown in the second picture requires Tatooinian Fiberplast and Lokian Wild Wheat to craft so in the Chosen Resource column I would like to have a drop down list allowing me to select the named resource type i would like to use - for Tatooinian Fiberplast the only thing on the list should be Omnitwixi and for the Wild Wheat it should show Fizi and Krad

Is there a way to create a drop down list from a comma delimited list in a single cell? For example, col A is Name & Col B is the delimited list - Blue,Red,Green (list can be different for each name). Would like a drop down list in col C that allows you to pick one of the values from Col B.

I have 3 related dropdown lists that work perfectly, if you enter data from left to right. But, if you click in the cell containing the second list, which is based on the first list, of which nothing has been selected, you can just type any value in the cell. Is there a way to prevent this, or at least validate that what is entered is a value in the list.

Im trying to organize a tools inventory list. Its supposed to be sort of like an order sheet for each department. But what I want to do is when I select either CARPENTRY, or any of the other trades from a drop-down list, I'll be able to select from another drop-down list items associated with that trade in particular. So eventually I want the master data hidden, preferably in another sheet. I searched all of Google but it seems a bit complicated to get it done. I want to track the number of similar authors from paper to paper. Thus I am attempting to create a macros that has the Papers listed sequentially when they were published and the authors for each paper, with the authors name in each cell. I want to create a macros that will compare the Author Cells associated to lets say the Fifth Paper with the Author Cells for the Fourth Paper (the Previous Paper). So that if certain authors come up in the Fifth Paper that were in the Fourth Paper, the # will be noted.
I also want this macros to compare all the Author Cells that have appeared in the past with that of the author cells of the (N) paper excluding the (N-1) Paper, and just note the # of occurences. So using the previous example. If we are talking about the Fifth Paper, it will look through Papers #1-#3 for any matching keywords and note the number.
I have attached my spreadsheet to make it more clearer. For some papers there are more than 20 authors as well just to note.
I need to asign macros to a drop down list, but whatever i do I cannot find a way to do it? Can any one point me in the right direction? I am working with a spanish version of excel and my spanish is not good enough for the help menu!

View 7 Replies View RelatedNewbie user of VB. I need some assistance on a project. I have a form that uses a validation list ( cell c5) to populate other cells (c6, c7, c8, h5) using Vlookup.
This part works fine. On the list is an "other" choice which I need to initiate a textbox macros which would accept user input and populate the same cells with the entered data once a cmd button is selected. I’ve tried redefining my variables as ranges or strings with the same inconclusive results. The code as it stands looks like this:

Using this code doesn’t initiate the event.
Newvendin is the userform to enter new data only if “other” is selected. CmdEnter is the enter button on the userform with textboxes in it. I’m having a bit of trouble with it’s code as well.

Final question and it’s probably stupid. If you have more than one Private Sub Worksheet_change(ByVal Target As Range) sub on your worksheet, how do you change the wording on each so that it won’t cause an Ambiguous name detected error?

I have dropdown list witch is "date" in cell A1 in cell C1 i put number witch is "money"

e1:e100 should get the data from c1
So I use in e1:e100

I can use it only for 1 date. I want to choose date from my dropdown list put money and then choose another date and put money.
I was wondering if there is a way to add to a list by a drop down selection.
If there isn't is there a way to do this task easier than copying and pasting?

I have an excel sheet with 25,000+ emails in column A with hyperlinked emails addresses, Column B has different Subject lines based on the category the clients belongs to but on the same sheet, Column C has the following hyperlink :

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm required by my manager to produce password protected dropdown list (I use the data validation feature) for purchase order requester. I have been working on it for 2 days now, I somehow got it but it doesnt seem foolproof; as i often get error message after running it a few times.
Basically, all I need is to come up with a unique password for each name for listed in the "Requester". Whenever I click on it, it will prompt me to enter password.Different names requires different password, otherwise it will return as a blank cell.
What are the steps how to edit data validation if possible.
