Select Pivot Field Items By Criteria

Need code that takes names of people from one excel sheet and selects the names in a pivot table field in another excel sheet. Basically I need to know the code that selects pivot items in a pivot field (say name of the pivot field is 'EmpName' and the pivot items are the names of the employees). As of now I check the name in one excel sheet then manually select the name from the 'Emp Name pivot field in the pivot table. There are many names and manually selkecting one by one is very time consuming hence I am trying to automate this.

Check Pivot Page Field Items

I have an array set up with values I want to look in a Pivot Field for and then pull data back based on that selection. It works great until there is an item in my array that is not listed in the Pivot Field. Then it pulls the data from the last item again, which skews my results. So my questions is, how can I skip to the next item in an array if it is not listed in the Pivot Field? Here is the section of code

Excel 2003 :: Force All Pivot Field Items Selected

I have a pivot table which I want to force the all of the pivot table items to be selected for a particular pivot table field. One would think that this would be as easy as unlocking all cells on the sheet with the exception of this pivot field and then locking the worksheet. This doesn't work though as I am generating multiple pivot tables on the same workbook for the same range and I get this message: "this command cannot be performed while a protected sheet contains another PivotTable report based on the same data source...".

My thinking is that I can do something along the lines of this:

Excel 2003 :: Referencing Multiple Items From Pivot Field In Macro?

I am trying to create a macro that will change all pivot fields with a certain name to the value I have the master pivot changed to. For example, I have 5 pivot tables, which each contain the field "Fruit". I want to change the 1st pivot table to "Apples", "Oranges", and "Pears" as active values, and then run the macro, making the other fruit fields also have these values. I can do it for single items, but when I need to do multiple items, I get an error message. I'm not sure how to write in VBA in order to do this.

List All Hidden Page Field Items Of All Pivot Tables In Workbook

I am trying to write a list of pivot table page filter pivot items to the Immediate window - but only hidden items. The code below should do the job where the active sheet is a pivot table.

However when I change the page filter pivot items being hidden, the pivot items returned by the macro don't change. It seems to assume that all pivot items are hidden when in fact it may be only one or two. It will work though for pivot row items (pvt.RowFields) and pivot column items (pvt.ColumnFields) where the user changes them.

Does the pf.HiddenItems collection work for RowFields and ColumnFields but not PageFields? If so, is there a pivot field object that reliably holds hidden pivot items residing in the page filters?

Automating Pivot Table To Check Multiple Items And Place Them Into Values Field?

I am trying to automate creation of pivot table, where the first three fields will go into the RowLabel field, and the rest of them will go into the values as "Sum of ____".

Is it possible? Because I could do it one by one; however, those fields are different every time (there are different number of those fields, and their values are also different).

VBA To Select Multiple Items In Pivot Table

I'm trying to write a macro to select the multiple sets of the same data for several PIVOT tables. I've tried Slicers but it seems that this takes up too much processing power and always times out.

My workaround is to do a macro that picks out the said data, however when i do the below, plus another 4-500 lines i get told that there are too many line continuations

Filtering Pivot Using Cell Value (for Select Multiple Items)

I'm running a pretty huge database with Part Numbers across several Suppliers which fluctuate constantly.

For example: a HEXAGONAL BOLT may have a Part Number ABC123, but depending on the size of the bolt it could be a ABC123-001 ABC123-V28 ABC123-40mm (etc)

There's a lot of data (some of it sensitive) so I don't want the users to see everything - I'm creating a front-end sheet and am looking for a way for a user to type in the Part Number "ABC123" into cell A1, then the Pivot below to auto-update (with Part Number on the 'Report Filter') to show all variations of ABC123, including ABC123-1 ABC123-2 etc - i.e. not an exact match; everything that contains the characters in cell A1.

The relevant information has been ported in and password protected on a sepearate sheet within the workbook, so it's literally a code to make the cell value affect the filter.

However, i'd like it select the field ie 2-17 based on a year in a cell on another sheet "x" in cell E3.

At the moment i have a row of numbers 1-17 above the corresponding field cell so for example the number 15 is attached to the year 2013 (although this is dynamic).

I just cant work out how to get the autofilter to select the number that matches the cell in "x" E3 with the same value in T2:AJ2 on filter sheet and then filter the column that matches.

I'm trying to use a List Box to select multiple items on my Pivot Table but I can't seem to get it to work. Its the Report Filter part of the pivot table.

When the list Box is set to fmMultiSelectSingle it work and selects the indivdual items, but I need it set as fmMultiSelectMulti for if i'm also needed to select multiple items. (which doesn't seem to work!)

1. I am trying to record a macro where I select a Pivot Table. But in the recorded macro "Pivot Table name" is not recorded neither the Pivot Field Property only the Range name is recorded. But on other systems (workstations) these details get recorded. Does this have something to do with excel settings?

2. I uploaded a macro enabled excel file on my company's "sharepoint" the drop down boxes present in the file get populated via a macro in "ThisWorkbook" page but sometimes these drop down boxes don't show any values. What can be the reason for this? Can't share the file because of data security policy of my organization.

I want to sum up data for two periods (4&5) from a pivot table using GETPIVOTDATA formula. I've only been successful when I manually type the period values 4 and 5 as is shown below:

=IFERROR((SUM(GETPIVOTDATA("Amount",'Transaction Pivot'!$J$3,"Period",{4,5},"Project",$A7,"Category","T&M"))),0)

However, I cannot get the formula to work when I substitute cell references for the period values 4 and 5. Therefore, the following formula does not work:

=IFERROR((SUM(GETPIVOTDATA("Amount",'Transaction Pivot'!$J$3,"Period",{E5,E6},"Project",$A7,"Category","T&M"))),0) where E5 has 4 in the cell and E6 has 5.

Pivot, Want SOME Row Items Values On Pivot But All In Total

I have a pivot that shows Location, Dept and Total Sales by month. So Location and Dept are in the row area, Period is in the column area and Total Sales are summed in the page area.

Well, they decide they do not want to see Dept: 999 on the pivot. Thats easy, just click the dropdown and uncheck it....they are amazed at my ingenuity!

Well, they then notice Dept: 999 is no longer included in the Location total or grand total....makes sesne to me I say!

Well, they then specify that Dept: 999 should NOT appear on the pivot but SHOULD be included in subtotals / totals.

I've got 4 pivot tables (all derived from the same base data) on 4 separate worksheets. I've been able to (with this help of this site) to use VBA to hide pivot items on all of these sheets using a list on a user form. Hide/Show Pivot Table Field Items. Hide Pivot Table Fields Pivot Items by Criteria

I now need to be able to show all the pivot items on only 3 of the 4 pivot tables, with the 4th pivot table being left untouched. For ease assume that my sheets are sheet1, sheet2, sheet3, and sheet4. The tables I wish to update are on sheet2, sheet3 and sheet4. The pivot table on each sheet is called "PivotTable4" and the pivot item is called "Business". The pivot item contains 12 business names (Business1, Business2 etc etc)

Is there an easy way of doing this? I've spent the day looking through the internet and various "Dummies" books but with little success, I fear that I'm obviously below even Dummy level

I have two fields in pivot table, "HATA TOPLAMI" and "SIRA NO". "Hata toplamı" is sum of items, and "Sıra no" is count of items. İ want to divide these two fields and add it to the pivot table, like "HATA TOPLAMI" / "SIRA NO". I have tried calculated field function from pivot table. İ wrote "="HATA TOPLAMI" / "SIRA NO"". But the summary is false. I want to divide Sum of "Hata toplamı" and count of "Sıra no" but instead it divides with sum of "sıra no". Is there a way to do this?

I have a problem in expanding/collapsing fields in pivot table.

I have source table with GROUP, SUBGROUP, ACCOUNT and AMOUNT. In pivot table I've put GROUP, SUBGROUP and ACCOUNT in Row labels respectivly, and AMOUNT in values. There are same names in SUBGROUP for different names in GROUP. (for example: groups are Production costs and Distribution costs and in each of them there are subgroups Personnel costs and Other costs).

The question is: Is it possible to expand only field Other costs in group Distribution costs while field Other costs in group Production costs stays collapsed?

I have attached a simple test file. The data tab has two columns in the pivot range. The third column is _not_ in the pivot range, but is there to show the result I'm trying to get with the pivot.

The idea is to count the number of people whose entry dates are greater than 2/1/2009. My third data column gives a correct result, but a similar formula in the calculated field of the pivot table gives a completely wrong result (a date), where my goal is to generate a zero, a one, or a sum of zeros and ones.

It could be a formatting issue, but that would not explain why all the pivot results have the _same_ wrong answer.

I'm new to PTs and calculated fields, and expect I've made a naive mistake that an expert could easily spot.

I have a pivot table with 2 row filters (dept and name) and then three columns - Year 1, Year 2. I need to add a calculated field inbetween Year 1 and 2 to show the variance in dollars from ( Year1-Year2) as well as an additonal a column that shows the percentage change between the tw o years . I know I can copy this over and add formuals in Excel but I need to retain the features of the pivot tables due to the 2 row filters?
