Separate And Save Active Worksheet?

Feb 26, 2014

Using VBA, I am trying (without success) to copy the active worksheet of my workbook and save it in the current folder using a filename shown in cell A1. I only need to save values and formats. Any existing code (auto fit) contained withing the sheet would no longer be required. I get a VB project message relating to macros. I would anticipate saving as xlsx would deal with this but again, am at a loss.

How To (save As) Using Data From 2 Separate Cells

Sep 23, 2013

The current macro I have allows me to save 'sheet 2' as the name in cell sheet1 B2, which is a 6 digit number. I now want it to save as data from 2 cells, sheet1 B2 followed by sheet1 B1, which is job name (eg. 112233 microsoft excel).

This is the current formula I have:

Save Active Sheet To Another Workbook

Nov 3, 2008

Copy the active sheet that is open in a work book and save it to another file with the date in the name? For example Report_11-03-08.xls

The only problem I see with this. How could I also make it append a letter to report if the file already exits Example saved as
Report1_11-03-08.xls. Then just continue incrementing.

Sub CopySave()
Application.ScreenUpdating = False
ActiveSheet.Copy
Application.DisplayAlerts = False
ActiveSheet.SaveAs Filename:=ThisWorkbook.Path & "/" & "Report_" & Format(Date, "mm_dd_yy") & ".xls"
ActiveWorkbook.Close
Application.DisplayAlerts = True
Application.ScreenUpdating = True
End Sub

Save As And Close Active Workbook

May 13, 2009

I am trying to create a form button that will save as and close the active workbook. I have the Save As code working but I can't find any code to close the workbook that will work. A couple of issues: I don't have control of what the workbook is called - the user will name it - so I can't do a simple Workbooks (" ").Close. Also, I don't want to quit the application. I don't know if the user will have other worksheets open. I also tried ActiveWorkbook.Close and that didn't seem to work either. Not sure what I am doing wrong.

Save UserForm Data Into Separate Workbook

May 22, 2008

I have a form which creates a budget based on user input. I want to save that user input in a separate workbook. My goal is to reduce the file size. I have several modules which perform evaluations/ calculations, and then format the output in a worksheet, but the size is pretty large 450KB.

I was thinking that I could set the control source, to different cells on the worksheet, and then just copy the worksheet to a new workbook, and save the data by itself. Then if I wanted to change the data for a given budget, I would copy the sheet back into the workbook that contains the modules, and load the form again. Is this a good solution? Is there a better way? Please let me know if I can provide more information.

Create A Separate Worksheet That Has The Data In And Reference Cells On Budget Worksheet?

Feb 7, 2014

I need to reference the projected and actual expenses from the total on worksheet 'expenses' So i did so, however, if I change the drop down on the expenses worksheet to only display housing data, then the projected and actual expenses on my budget worksheet changes as well to the new data portrayed on the expenses worksheet.

I need to reference the cell, without it changing when I change the category display, but I need the cell to change accordingly if I enter new data in the overall tablet on the expenses worksheet.

Or do I need to create a seperate worksheet that has the data in and reference my cells on my budget worksheet to that new worksheet?

Set Textbox Control Source To Hidden Worksheet NOT Active Worksheet?

May 6, 2014

I have created an excel worksheet that will provide budgeting and estimating tools for my project managers. All data used to be manual entry and took a good while to complete. I am trying to automate the process with VBA.

I created a UserForm called InfoVerify1. On that form I have TextBox 1 - 10. When the UF opens, the boxes display project information from my worksheet called "Basis of Estimate", also known as Sheet26.

The TextBox1 ControlSource is set to "E4". When I run the macro with Sheet26 active, the proper information fills in. However, when I am on the Start page or any other worksheet and I run the macro, it tries to fill in the text boxes with E4, etc, from the active sheet. I tried changing the ControlSource to "Sheet26,E4" or any combo thereof with only error messages.

how to get it to refer to a cell on a particular worksheet and hold to that worksheet no matter which sheet I am on at the time I run the Userform?

Copying Cells Then Save As Separate Workbooks - VBA Code

I am looking for a code which would copy the cells, then allow me to save the sheets it has copied them to as seperate workbooks without loosing the values it copied. I would also like to make amendments to the cells which have been copied onto the other sheets, without having an error message if I type anything into the cells, also having any blank cells left blank rather than placing the 'o' value in the cell.

Populate From Data From List Values And Save As Separate Files?

Sep 14, 2013

I need to create time sheets for about 30 contract workers.

Each time sheet needs to have their name as well the date for sunday of that week inserted into the form. (once the date for sunday is entered into the sheet, the rest of the dates for the week will be extrapolated out).

Then, once the data is inserted for a single worker, I need that file to be saved using the workers name in the file name.

The script would then open a new time sheet template, insert the second workers name and the date for sunday and save the file. Repeate for next 30 workers.

Macro: Create Directory Based On Active Workbook And Save To It

Sep 8, 2006

Read “My Documents” Path And Use Result

Problem:

1. Corporate network security settings will only allow directory/subdirectory creation in the “My Documents” section of customers individual computers.

2. Per customer request, VBA application needs to save extracted files for future use.

3. I can specify an initial “My Documents” subdirectory be made and the VBA application file be loaded/copied into that location – i.e. – “My DocumentsCat”.

4. When VBA application is opened from that specified directory, (first time), the application needs to make an additional subdirectory tree to save future files. I can read the opened from location via VBA with the following:

Dim filepath As String
filepath = ThisWorkbook.Path
As an example – this code would produce a string definition of “filepath” – such as the following:............................
