I need to create time sheets for about 30 contract workers.
Each time sheet needs to have their name as well the date for sunday of that week inserted into the form. (once the date for sunday is entered into the sheet, the rest of the dates for the week will be extrapolated out).
Then, once the data is inserted for a single worker, I need that file to be saved using the workers name in the file name.
The script would then open a new time sheet template, insert the second workers name and the date for sunday and save the file. Repeate for next 30 workers.

I have multiple files in a folder.
The files are named:
File1.xls
File2.xls
File3.xls
....and so on; the number of files varies. I am trying to write a macro, to combine all *.xls files in one workbook having each file as a separate worksheet.

After using VBA code to save multiple workbooks into single workbook the file hangs (states not responding) - I uninstalled 32 bit version and installed 64 bit, no difference.
Each worksheet has look up tables, formulas and graphing.

I need to copy a range of cells from various columns/rows from 1 sheet into 6 other sheets, but into a specfic range of cells(in the same workbook). I am looking for a code which would copy the cells, then allow me to save the sheets it has copied them to as seperate workbooks without loosing the values it copied. I would also like to make amendments to the cells which have been copied onto the other sheets, without having an error message if I type anything into the cells, also having any blank cells left blank rather than placing the 'o' value in the cell.

I have a workbook with multiple sheets and I want to make these sheets into separate workbooks. I need them to be saved in the same path as the original workbook and automatically named (same filenames as worksheet names). I tried a code from a VBA book, and I got "Object needed" error message.

I have different excel files in a specific folder. All the files have only two sheets with same kind of data, formatting etc. Now I want to merge selective files on need basis (only the first sheet data) into a new different worksheet in which I will be running the code. Provide me a macro which will ask me to select the files I want to merge. Also the data range of the files ( needs to be merged) will vary time to time, so the macro needs to take care of that as well.

I have a file that opens a number of files from a source directory (which is identified by the User at run-time) & merges the source data into various worksheets (which all works fine)
Now what I'd like to be able to do is to be able to (silently) save multiple worksheets back to separate files in the original directory based on each worksheet name - e.g:
"Sheet1" and "Control" Sheet" are saved to SourceDirectorySheet1.xlsm
"Sheet2" and "Control" Sheet" are saved to SourceDirectorySheet2.xlsm
"Sheet3" and "Control" Sheet" are saved to SourceDirectorySheet3.xlsm
...
"Sheetn" and "Control" Sheet" are saved to SourceDirectorySheetn.xlsm
(Note that "Control Sheet" also contains Command Buttons & VBA which I'd like to preserve)

Code:
Sub Select_All_Sheets_And_Export()
Dim wsWorksheet As Worksheet, wbNew As Workbook
Worksheets.Select
Cells.Select
Selection.Copy
[Code] ........
I have come up with the above code to select all sheets in my workbook and convert to values and then split and save each worksheet as its worksheet name in the same directory.

I have a workbook that contains worksheets. They are listed as follows:
Sheet 1ABCDEFG
In cells A1 - A49 I have text. What I would like to do is to have a macro that I can run that will basically copy and save new workbooks with sheets A - G copied over and have the new workbook saved with the file name that I have denoted in cells A1 - A49 on Sheet 1. Also, the macro would ask me where I want to save the new Workbooks.
For example, if this were Sheet 1, Column A then the cells below would be the saved name of the new workbooks and the new workbooks would have Sheets A - G in themRed
Blue
Purple
Black
White
Yellow
Orange
Green
Gray
Brown
One more piece of information, the file that is being copied and saved is large (~80MB). If there is a macro that would allow me to simply "save as' the workbook and the Saved Workbooks would be named using the data in Sheet 1, that would work as well in case copying, pasting, then saving may take more time

I am trying to put together some code to have Excel to copy all the text files from a folder with numerous text files, all of which have identical formatting, to one worksheet. Furthermore, I need the copying event to occur every time the workbook is opened so that it will "refresh/overwrite" the worksheet with all of the files in the folder.
I have lifted some code from several sites which would seem to an untrained eye to accomplish what I am trying to get done, however I run into a file path error.

I have been working on this application for the past couple weeks and I have this module of code that copy's a worksheet into a new workbook and changes everything into values. However I have added buttons onto this sheet and after running the code again it froze the program, in which I had to manually end. It gave an error afterwards however I don't remember what it said. Now everything I try to run or step through it, nothing happens. And I have turned Events and ScreenUpdating on.
I would also like to note that it won't allow me to perform actions like unhide sheets or unprotect them. The code has not been changed either so what has happened to disable all functionality.

I have a excel file that I enter information into. I have code that saves the files to a certain folder with the name, date, and time stamp for the file name. At the end of the day I might have 3 to 15 excel files I have created that day and I would like to take information from certain cells (examle: L3, B6, B7, B8, G8, and so on) and create a txt file with all of the information in it.
Example:
12/20/2007
Your Name
123 Somewhere St.
Here, OH 45111
Home Visit
12/20/2007
Someone Else
345 Anywhere St.
There, OH 45211

Using VBA, I am trying (without success) to copy the active worksheet of my workbook and save it in the current folder using a filename shown in cell A1. I only need to save values and formats. Any existing code (auto fit) contained withing the sheet would no longer be required. I get a VB project message relating to macros. I would anticipate saving as xlsx would deal with this but again, am at a loss.

The current macro I have allows me to save 'sheet 2' as the name in cell sheet1 B2, which is a 6 digit number. I now want it to save as data from 2 cells, sheet1 B2 followed by sheet1 B1, which is job name (eg. 112233 microsoft excel).
This is the current formula I have:
Public Sub saveworkbook()
Dim filename1 As String
Sheets("Sheet2").Select
ActiveWindow.SelectedSheets.PrintOut Copies:=2, Collate:=True, _
IgnorePrintAreas:=False
Sheet1.Select
filename1 = Range("b2")
ActiveWorkbook.SaveAs filename:= _
"C:UsersAndrew.SDocumentsInterloc DocumentsHardware Sheets" & filename1
End Sub

I have several separate Excel files that are all formatted in the same way.
I want all this data, excluding the header rows, from those separate Excel files, to appear in a new/designated Excel file. - I don't want to keep copying and pasting.
I also want the data, once extracted/copied/exported, to be formatted according the formatting style on the designated Excel file.

I am sure the answer to this is out there somewhere but I haven't been able to find it. Thank you in advance for the help - I just can't figure it out.
I have several identically formatted worksheets (for different departments) with macros that reorganize the data in each sheet. I also have a list of managers with their respective departments in this same workbook.
I want a macro that will save these department sheets (values and formats only) in new workbooks - the manager's name - according to the list. I also need the macros that reorganize the data to work without referencing the original file.

I have a fluid document that I have to save for historical reasons in 2 separate directories. My save Macro works I was just wondering if anyone see's a better way of accomplishing saving to two separate directories then closing the document. I used the record function to gernerate most of the code.
Sub SAVEANDEXITTHESLATE()
Dim date1
Dim date2
Dim xlCalc As XlCalculation
xlCalc = Application.Calculation
Application.Calculation = xlCalculationManual
On Error Goto CalcBack
Application.ScreenUpdating = False
date1 = Now()
date2 = Format(date1, "mmm d yyyy hh mm")
ActiveWorkbook.SAVE
Application.DisplayAlerts = False
ChDir "c:Documents and SettingsmeDesktop"
ActiveWorkbook.SaveAs Filename:= _...................

I have a form which creates a budget based on user input. I want to save that user input in a separate workbook. My goal is to reduce the file size. I have several modules which perform evaluations/ calculations, and then format the output in a worksheet, but the size is pretty large 450KB.
I was thinking that I could set the control source, to different cells on the worksheet, and then just copy the worksheet to a new workbook, and save the data by itself. Then if I wanted to change the data for a given budget, I would copy the sheet back into the workbook that contains the modules, and load the form again. Is this a good solution? Is there a better way? Please let me know if I can provide more information.

how I can loop through folders to select files starting with a certain word and copy all of them to a different folder and rename them. The folder structure is given below
Company 1(parent folder)
North South East(sub folder) West(sub folder)
Jan Feb Mar.... Dec Jan Feb Mar.... Dec Jan Feb Mar.... Dec Jan Feb Mar.... Dec
In the above structure, the files are present inside each folders Jan, feb...Dec under the regions North, South East n west. note that I have to select files starting with "Sales" and copy them into a new folder(say results) and rename copied files as Sales1.xls, Sales2.xls etc. (Files are not present in the folder company1, north, south, east and east.)

Hi everyone,
I've got several Excel files that need to be edited separately.
Once they have been edited, I need to paste the content of each file in a single separate Excel file.
Is there a way to retrieve the content from all the files in a folder, and merge it in a single file?
For example:
3 separate files > File1, File2, File3
Merged file, sheet1
File1
File2
File3

I have an excel spreadsheet laid out as:
A B C D E F G H I J K L M N O
1 ** ** *** ** ** ** ** *** ** *** ** ** *** ** **
2 ** ** *** ** ** ** ** *** ** *** ** ** *** ** **
3 ** ** *** ** ** ** ** *** ** *** ** ** *** ** **
4 ** ** *** ** ** ** ** *** ** *** ** ** *** ** **
5 ** ** *** ** ** ** ** *** ** *** ** ** *** ** **
I need a macro that can automatically export the cell data for each row from Column A--> O into it's own seperate text file, and name each text file with the text in column A. So again... everything in row 1 from A to O would be copied and pasted into a text file called (A1 cell data).txt
once that first text file has created, I was hoping that there could be a loop to automatically close the first text file and move on to row 2 and do the same, copy all text in row 2 from A to O into a new text file titled (A2 cell data).txt, close and move on to row 3 etc etc.
this is a large list of approximately 8,000 records.
