I need a formula to tell me whether a number is a square number, or I can do it so to see if the square root of a number is an interger. So far Iv been doing
A1 = ă2 A2 = AND(RIGHT(A1,1)=INT(A1))
True or false outcome is fine, and it has been working fine on some examples, but the problem comes when I have ă49, as it is 2 digits long. I've seen a formula similar to find the root symbol, and look at all the numbers upto this point (maybe FIND).
I have a formula and in it is a square root, i want the formula inside the square root always to be positive so i get a result.
Example:
(A1) -1 (A2) 0 (A3) -2
(C1) =(A1)^0.25 (C2) =(A2)^0.25 (C3) =(A3)^0.25
Now i only get a result from the last two, but i want to use the modulus function so that instead of a maths error i get 1 for the first one, how do i do this?
I am using a User Form to input data to a spreadsheet and have an issue. I've set the TextBox WordWrap & MultiLine Property to True and the textbox values don't show the reverse P character, but how do I get the "square" from populating into the cells on my worksheet? I was using this old thread as a point of reference, but didn't understand how to use or where to put it in my form. I'm referring to the code that Dave Hawley supplied. Strange Characters Pasting to Textbox
I have a Textbox on a Userform that allows users to enter text and code copies the text to a nominated cell on a sheet. My difficulty is that when the text is copied to the cell at the end of each line of text there is a small 'open square' symbol that I would prefer not to show. I can manually delete the symbol but would like it either not to appear of be able to automatically delete it. If I copy the text to a word file the symbols do not appear.
Private Sub CommandButton1_Click() Sheets("Marketing").Range("b4") = UserForm1.TextBox1 Me.Hide End Sub
I need a userform textbox event that fires after I tab or click out of the textbox. Going by the list of options:Beforedragover, BeforeDroporPaste, Change, DblClick, DropButtonClick, Error, Keydown, Keypress, keyup, mousedown, mousemove, mouseup.
I can't figure out which one will do what I want. The change event happens instantaneously which doesn't work. I need to fire off the event when my focus leaves the textbox.
Code: Private Sub cmdSearchButton_Click() Dim txtbox As String 'stores lookup value Dim x As Variant 'value for wwid txt box Dim ForeName As String Dim SurName As String Dim wwid As Variant Dim iPosition As Integer
[Code] .......
Here is my code, it does a vlookup and if the persons name is not found it will split the text entered into forename and surname but when i try and add
It actually displays &ForeName & in the text box of the next from rather than what ForeName is..
eg. John Smith -> search button -> user not found msg -> user wants to add user -> string is split into forename and surname -> forename = John , surname = Smith -> display this in the second form.
What code should i be using to do this, i thought that &ForeName & would work.
I tried looking for everywhere, but i still cant seem to find the solution.. I have an Active X textbox on a worksheet, and I need it's value to show up on a textbox on my userform, that shows up through a command button on that worksheet. I'm fairly new to vba.
I am trying to copy data from a Textbox in a Userform to a Textbox in another Userform. Is it possible?
In Userform1 I have a button from which I can open Userform2 keeping the Userform1 opened. When closing Userform2 I want to copy the data from TextBox2 in Userform2 to TextBox1 in Userform1.
I was trying to guess the code... but it is not working...:
I Have a Userform which Have My Data i Print User Form Using Print Command Button And My Code Is

I created a trendline and associated equation for some data plotted against Time on the x-axis displayed in MM/DD/YY format. The date for the data ranges from 3/27/06 thru 11/10/08.
The data actually crosses the y=0 line around 11/5/07, which is the data root
When I use Goal Seek, I got a zero root solution of 28154.98. When I convert this to the date format, it converts to a date in 1981 which is not correct. I tried a range of initial guesses but they all converge to the same number.
I have a form RiseSpan with three TextBoxes, txtInSpan, txtDepth & txtOutSpan. I wish to enter values in txtInSpan and txtDepth. These values are placed in cells A1 and A2. If both txtInSpan and txtDepth are greater that zero, I want txtOutSpan to show the value of cell C11.
if the code is 110 add together all amounts attached to that code and sum them in a new cell. Perfect. Now however there is an added level of complexity and i need to figure out how to nest an IF statement into a =sumif() function so that code amounts are summed into their root code, for example the root code of 110, 120, 130 is 100.
So basically i want a function that will sum the specific code (110) and then sum together that amount under the root code (100). Here is an example. The amounts for the lower level codes have been summed but i need the high level codes to be summed together.
is it possible to type a document name in a cell, then run a code that searches a root dir and sub folders, find the existing document and open it?? for example
I have to run a daily report from winxp or win2k and need to change the host files a few times for access.
I tried to use %systemroot% in the file path, but for some reason vba doesn't like it.
Here's the snippet I'm using for copying over the host file based on user choice: (the thing works if I change to the actual system root path (C: etc...)
Private Sub CommandButton1_Click() Select Case ComboBox1 Case "- Choose -" MsgBox ("This is not a choice") Case "BTR"
I have textbox1 through textbox8 and all have a number value controlled by their respective spinbutton. The total of those txtbox's adds up into textbox 9, but I currently have a command button to sum the value. would I would like is textbox 9 to update as I'm updating txtbox 1-8 automatically. let me know if possible
I'm having a problem referring to the value in my text boxes. I'm trying to refer the value in those to certain columns and rows that will be deleted after.
After seaching on this and other forums I have not been able to get an answer to this question. Also I know there are a lot of posts out there that sound like this, but none are the same.
My spreadsheet has multiple userforms, which has multiple textboxes. The textboxes are for dates. I have it set so when you double click in the textbox that it calls a calendar function.
Here is the problem.... After you click ok on the calendar form I want the date to go into the textbox that the calendar form was called from. The only way for me to get this to work is to create a seperate calendar form for each textbox that I call the calendar form from.
I have a userform and I want a textbox that counts cells J7,M7,P7,S7,V7. Does anyone know how to write this code and where to put it. All I want is the textbox to show how many cells of these five have data in them and I want it to update automatically.
