Subtract Number Of Workdays From A Date
Feb 26, 2014
I am looking for a formula which substract a number of workdays defined in a cell from a date defined i nanother cell. For example I have a date in cell B2: 10.08.2014 - this is the due date for service delivery. In cell C2 there is a number of workdays: 84 - this is the duration for the delivery process. I would like to have a formula calculating in cell D2 the date when the delivery process has to start. The tricky point is that B2 is basicly a range of merged cells B2:B6. As an example I am attaching an exmple sheet.

I'm trying to write a function that takes a date in format YYYYMM and adds/subtracts a number of months.
for example: newDate(YYYYMM,numMonths)
newDate(201109,5) would give 201202
newDate(201102,-4) would give 201010
I was thinking i could use the left/right function to retrieve the month and year ........

I need a way to calculate the number of workdays, Saturdays and Sundays in a month.
In my model, the client can choose to work on Saturdays and/or Sundays.I need someway to show that a given month (e.g. June 2014) has some # of workdays, and some # of Saturdays and some # of Sundays.I can do this on three separate rows.
eg.
Row 1: Month
Row 2: Wordays
Row 3: Saturdays
Row 4: Sundays
Still i need some way of determining that a given month (June 2014) has 22 work days, 4 Saturdays and 5 Sundays,... et cetera

I have data in column C which is the date and time
Data is: 16/06/2014 09:47:14
Cells are formatted as dd/mm/yyyy" "hh:mm:ss
Column H has another date and time based on service level agreements
Data is 17/06/2014 09:47:14
Cells are formatted as dd/mm/yyyy" "hh:mm:ss
I need to add 3 workdays to the 1st value so it returns 19/06/2014 09:47:14
I've used the following formula =WORKDAY(C2,3) and it returns the correct date but time shows as 00:00:00. Is there way I can pick up the time from Cell C2?

Get the number of workdays between two dates in a VBA function. I tried simply using the Advanced Toolpak function NETWORKDAYS, but I get the error message "Sub or function not defined". I did reference to atpvbaen.xls in the Tools > References menu, so I don't know why Excel is not recognizing the function.
I used the following function to test it:
Function CalcNetDays(dInitial As Date, dEnd As Date)
CalcNetDays = NetworkDays(dInitial, dEnd)
End Function
Any reason the function is not working?
Also, I need to add the holidays to the function. The holidays are listed on a worksheet column. Do I simply add the range to the function, like below?
CalcNetDays = NetworkDays(dInitial, dEnd, Range("Holidays"))

I have the following function:
=IF(G13="",IF(H13>1,1,IF(G13>1,workdays(H13,G13,Holidays))))
The intent is to calculate the completion date against the assigned date as follows:
G13 - Typically the assign date but sometimes can be blank because someone forgets or doesn't bother to insert
For this example, let's say: 12/17/12
H13 - Completion date
For this example, let's say: 12/20/12
I'm expecting a result of '3' for 3 days
The first half of the function is intended to calculate 1 day if G13 is blank or not defined. However, when I have dates in both cells, I'm getting a "false" answer instead of a numerical value that I'm expecting.
In our workplace, we do work weekends & sometimes 7 days a week.

How to add 2 "working days" to a date, including Saturdays as work days, and excluding holidays and Sundays? Similar to: = WORKDAY ("01/02/2008", 2, 39451) But instead of resulting in Mon Jan 7th, the answer should be Sat Jan 5th. (39451 is Fri Jan 4th.)

Is there a formula I can use to determine the number of work days in each week for a given month. The work week would start Sunday, with Friday and Saturday as days off. Each week would be in their own row.
i.e.
January
Week 1: 2 days
Week 2: 5 days
Week 3: 5 days
Week 4: 5 days
Week 5: 3 days

Assume I have a simple date array
1/13/20142/12/20143/12/20144/11/20145/13/20146/11/2014
I want Excel to see where today's date falls and return how many work days it is from the date boundaries.For example, today is 2/8, which falls between 1/13/2014 and 2/12/2014
Cell I19
=LOOKUP(TODAY(),B2:Q2)- yields 1/13/2014
=NETWORKDAYS(I19,TODAY()) yields 20 workdays
But I want to also grab the 2/12/2014 date and get the number of workdays from that- all in one equation.If not one equation then 2 but not separated for each border date like I have above

I am creating a spreadsheet for inventory use. I want to have a running total in (1) cell based upon a new/different number being entered into a different cell.
Column B, Row 1 (This will be a new/different number entered every day - inventory in or out, so positive or negative number)
Column D, Row 1 (This will be a running total based on numbers inserted in previous 2 columns)
Basically what I have is a key inventory. So there is column A with key number, B should be keys IN, C should be keys OUT, or ideally B would be IN and OUT meaning, for inventory IN input a positive number and for inventory OUT input a negative number, and D Should be total.
Column E represents number of keys currently in the inventory. I was going to hide the current inventory column so all you see is IN/OUT and total. So what I need is to be able to just come in and type in a number in the IN and/or OUT column, without having to add/subtract it with the number already in that column.
Bottom line, I'd like to be able to use IN and/or OUT columns to just type in numbers as they come and not have to worry about what's already in those columns and get correct total number.
Ok here it is. Attached worksheet shows
Column A - Key Numbers...No data value
Column B - Inventory IN
Column C - Inventory OUT
Column D - Total
Column E - Current Inventory(Starting point)
So the formula I used to get what i currently have is (=B2-C2+E2). This way whatever i input in columns C and C. totals out in D. But this way every time I want to add/subtract a number in B and C, i have to add to the number already in the column. I'd like to be able to type in a number in B and C as i go and still have a correct total. I wouldn't mind having just one column for in/out and use positive and negative numbers to differentiate inventory in or out.

I have name and a number in this
format: cell a1 Jones---56. In cell b1 I have another name i.e.,
Johnson---45. How can I subtract 45 from 56, take 60% of the difference
and in cell c3 show the following; Johnson---6. All numbers are to
rounded down to 0. The final result would look like this;
a1 Jones----56, b1 Johnson----45, c1 Johnson----6. I have other cells
with the same type of info in them. Example; a2 Smith----34, b2
Jones----78, c3 would show Smith----26.(rounded down) I always want to
subtract the lower number from the highest and take 60% of the
difference.

I am looking for a way to count the number of Days after Christmas each year.
For example today is the 1st October hence it is easy to work out the number of days since last Christmas as being =Today()-25/12/2006
How do I have a reoccuring formula that is Today-Christmas each year without having to enter the year of last Christmas so that for example as at 26/12/2007 the answer will be 1 and so it will also be on the 26/12/2008?

in the attachment I have problems in Cell B4, A9, and B9:
1. Cell B4: if Cell C2 is 25-May-07, then Cell B4 must be 26-Apr-07, if Cell C2 is 25-Apr-07, then Cell B4 must be 26-Mar-07, I did, but it is not working well, mean the format is not applied on that (Cell B4)
2. Cell A9: if Cell B4 is 26-Apr-07, then Cell A9 must contain the day of Cell B4 format (d), like 26...
3. Cell B9: the same as Cell A9, but format must be (ddd)
