Calculating Number Of Workdays In A Month
Jan 13, 2014In cell A1 I have a date 1/1/14
I need to get the number of business days for the month that is entered in the cell. I tried NETWORKDAY formula but needs a start and end date.

Is there a formula I can use to determine the number of work days in each week for a given month. The work week would start Sunday, with Friday and Saturday as days off. Each week would be in their own row.
i.e.
January
Week 1: 2 days
Week 2: 5 days
Week 3: 5 days
Week 4: 5 days
Week 5: 3 days

I would like to create a monthly inventory, based on workdays (Monday - Friday)Myrna Larson has a formula that I would like to use with the workday function, but I don't know how to combine them.
=IF(A1="",A1,IF(MONTH(A1+1)=MONTH(A1),A1+1,""))+ = workday
to fit on the page, I need the dates to be from the 1st to the 15th, and 16th to the 31st. I am not sure how to write this either.
I would like to know how to get the number of working days in a month based on the date in B4 which is formatted as "mmmm".
So if B4 was October the result would be 22 regardless of the actual date in B4.
I also have a named range "Holidays" for UK bank holidays (ready for December) that I would like included within the formula.
At the end of each month, my agency collects data about clients served in our programs. One of the many pieces of information they want is the number of "bed days" a client was residing within our programs for the given month.
For example:
Jon Doe entered the program on 7/16/13 and discharged on 8/15/13. I would like to know how to calculate the number of days in July that Mr. Doe was residing in the program. (The date of discharge is not included.)
I recently took over the responsibility of completing reports such as this one at my office. The previous person who completed the monthly reports would count the days by hand for each client, but I know there must be a better way.
What formula would I use to display how many workdays there are in a month.
The month is displayed in cell A1
My macro's function is to paste the workdays of an entire month in a specific row of a worksheet. Everything seems to work except using a number to reference the column in which to store the values. I've searched the web for over an hour and found two "solutions":
1. write a function to convert column number to a letter
2. utilize Cells object
#2 seemed more efficient but the function is giving me the error: "Runtime Error: '1004': Method of 'Range' of object "_Worksheet' Failed"
In column A of a database I've calculated workdays for all year (excluding weekends and public holidays).
Every day, I update the numerical data of the database, with the facts of previous day.
In another sheet I've made some monthly, quarterly etc., reports for that data.
What I want, is to have:
1) a report every day, with the sum of specific data (say that in column D), for a period starting the first workday of current month and ending the previous workday of today.
2) the total workdays days for that period.
I need a way to calculate the number of workdays, Saturdays and Sundays in a month.
In my model, the client can choose to work on Saturdays and/or Sundays.I need someway to show that a given month (e.g. June 2014) has some # of workdays, and some # of Saturdays and some # of Sundays.I can do this on three separate rows.
eg.
Row 1: Month
Row 2: Wordays
Row 3: Saturdays
Row 4: Sundays
Still i need some way of determining that a given month (June 2014) has 22 work days, 4 Saturdays and 5 Sundays,... et cetera
I am looking for a formula which substract a number of workdays defined in a cell from a date defined i nanother cell. For example I have a date in cell B2: 10.08.2014 - this is the due date for service delivery. In cell C2 there is a number of workdays: 84 - this is the duration for the delivery process. I would like to have a formula calculating in cell D2 the date when the delivery process has to start. The tricky point is that B2 is basicly a range of merged cells B2:B6. As an example I am attaching an exmple sheet.
View 10 Replies View RelatedGet the number of workdays between two dates in a VBA function. I tried simply using the Advanced Toolpak function NETWORKDAYS, but I get the error message "Sub or function not defined". I did reference to atpvbaen.xls in the Tools > References menu, so I don't know why Excel is not recognizing the function.
I used the following function to test it:
Function CalcNetDays(dInitial As Date, dEnd As Date)
CalcNetDays = NetworkDays(dInitial, dEnd)
End Function
Any reason the function is not working?
Also, I need to add the holidays to the function. The holidays are listed on a worksheet column. Do I simply add the range to the function, like below?
CalcNetDays = NetworkDays(dInitial, dEnd, Range("Holidays"))
I am trying to create vba macro that allows me to calculate cost per month.
I have created a basic table with two columns
Cost
Month
200
Jan
300
March
150
Jan
470
April
150
March
I have another sheet , that has two columns
Month - Cost
Jan
Feb
March
April
I am trying to sum up the value on sheet1 and input into sheet2 on the allocated month.
So far logic , that I have came up with is.
I create a For loop statement that looks column and sort each month into an array.
Than the second loop will use the array to find the cost with the allocated array value to sum it.
I need to calcuate how many times a date( any date for the month) aprears in the list. it needs to be calucated by each indivual month form a list that will span over a 12month period.
the problem i'm having is how do i get it to only read the month that i want?
I have to calculate the flat revenue split by month between 2 different dates. The two dates may be in the same year or different years.
excel formula for the same.
Is it possible to do the same in pivot?
I am looking for a formula that counts from each particular month
The main List has the following
Column C has all dates
Column D has hours worked
Column E has engineers name
The Second List is broke down into months and hours
Column I Has month ie I4=Jan 14, I5 = Feb 14 etc
Column J I need to have a total taken from column D from the month in column I
I trying to find a formula to give the difference between two dates in year and month.
For example, the start date is Feb 1 2006 and end date is Jan 1 2008.
The formula should result in 2.11
I tried the following formula from a previous thread but it gives the answer in text but I need it to result in 2.11.

I have a spreadsheet that is now a yeare old with 5000 rows and is now going into the 2nd year
Column A is for date input and the same date can be repeated several tumes :-
1 Jan 09
1 Jan 09
1 Jan 09
1 Jan 09
2 Jan 09
2 Jan 09
3 Jan 09
3 Jan 09
3 Jan 09
Sometimes there are all 30 /31 days but normally not .
I need to find the last ocurance of the last date used for each month and then use the cell number to calculate the column totals for that month.
I've managed to sort the first half of this issue, in that I can calculate the number of days within a given month which fall inside specified to and from date parameters..
The formula I've used is thus :
Code:
=IF(EOMONTH(A13,0)EOMONTH($I$9,0),0,IF(EOMONTH(A13,0)>$I$9,$I$9-(EOMONTH($I$9,-1)),EOMONTH(A13,0)-(EOMONTH(A13,-1))))))
This examines a date value (A13 in this case) and assess whether any days within that month are between the two date parameters specified in H9 and I9.
H9 = 01/01/2011
I9 = 15/05/2011
Jan-11
31
[Code]....
What I need to do now is specify a second set of date parameters in H10 and I10 and add those into the assessment. The dates will NOT overlap.
So, for example, if I were to set H10 as 01/07/2011 and I10 as 15/07/2011, the results would appear as below
Jan-11
31
Feb-11
28

I have a sheet with 3 columns. First one is a date in the format dd/mm/yy, second is category type (numerical 1-40) and then the final column is cost in the format 0.00. These columns will need to run from A2:A65536, B2:B65536 & C2:C65536 to cover all later additions. I need to work out a cost total for each of the categories in each month.

January 1 2012 to January 31 2012
The day and year (and the other bits) are easy, but is there an easy way to convert 1 to January, without going through a vlookup.
I need to get a general formula which if possible, automatically calculates the frequency of unique texts (no duplicates) under a particular month (January) without manually inserting the cells which is under january. If possible, the formula will also check to see if the company is either Cash or Cheque.
I have three columns; Date, Company name and Payment mode.
Date ranges from 1 jan 2010 to 31 dec 2012. Cell A2 to A234
I have forumlas that will look at this cell and take action of the month in a different cell is either 1 month greater (Frontmonth+1) or less (Frontmonth-1) than "Frontmonth". As we approach December I'm realizing that logic will breadown since the FrontMonth+1 would be 13, not 1 (January)
Is there a way to get excel to add 1 month to just the month number so that if Frontmonth = 12, Frontmonth+1 would return 1, not 13?
I need a formula that will calucalte the monthly total based on the following conditions:
Col A = Yearly Cost
Col B = The number of the month when the costs are starting (1=Jan etc)
Col C = The duration or the number of months for which the costs are to spread
Col D is Year 2013 with the months across columns D-O. Row 1 above those columns shows the month's corresponding number.
Right now I have =IF($B3<=D$1,$A3/$C3,0) however if my start month is 1 and my duration is 5, I need the costs to stop after May. I've attached a sample file. Calculate based on start month and duration.xlsx
I want to do is add up a column of numbers (which will be just 1's & 0's), and have it multiplied by a number. As to what that number would be is contingent upon the number that's being multiplied (if that made any sense). i.e.
If it's 45 or under, I want it multiplied by 5.
If it's 46 through 64, I want it multiplied by 10.
If it's 65 or above, I want it multiplied by 20.
How would I do this? I, for the life of me, can't recall how to write that formula.
If I had two dates in two separate cells , so E2 is the 01/10/08 and F2 is 06/10/08 and I want to work out that their is a difference of five days what would the sum be? Also is there anyway I could factor into that sum what is pure working days as opposed to weekends?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have created a workbook that I store data from my audits, this data is in the form of Y if compliant, N if noncompliant and N/A if not applicable. Where the fun part begins is that each question has a different risk involved. I have used a simple 1 to 5 risk scores and given scores for compliance and non compliance to each score, for example a risk 1 if compliant is 100 points, if non compliant is -100 points, all the N/As are worth 0.
I currently calculate the totals in a different sheet in the work book, but I do this kind of manually, I have calculations to work out the totals and percentages and all that, but I cannot figure out how to get the Ys and Ns to appear in this sheet as 100 or -100. All I do at the moment is bring the Y, N or N/A over with a simple =corresponding cell in sheet 1 then manually change this to the number I require.
I have a spreadsheet of order lines with non-unique order numbers in the first column. Each order line has a new row but will have the same order number in the first column as other order lines in the same order. I have a list of order numbers that I need to find the total of the order lines in these specific orders numbers.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am working on this for two days , but I got stuck on the last step. I have a roster for about 35 employees. Calculating the daily hrs was not a problem. But I am doing the roster for one week. And I want employee wise total of hrs worked. I am quite confused as the "sum" formula works for some totals and for others it does not, although all the cells are in the right format. I tried to change the "result" cell to "number" and multiply by 24 to get the hr total as a number, but it does not work.
for example "SUMIF(E1:E57,"rafik",H1:H57)" ( this is the formula for calculating hrs for "rafik" on monday. the result cell is in "hh:mm" format and gives me the right total.
Likewise upto sunday the totals are right. What I want to do is calculate the total number of hrs from mon to sun. This seems to be impossible. the formula =SUM(H60:AL60) in a dd:mm format does not work, even =SUM(H60:AL60)*24 in a "number format" does not work.
I have tried "excel help" , tried to change the format but nothing works. The result should be 52 hrs and I cant get it no matter what I do.
