VBA Round Function Vs Worksheet Round Function
Oct 24, 2006I don't know if there is a setting I'm missing or I'm going mad but when I use the round function in VBA it doesn't round.
I am using Excel 2000. See the example attached.
In the cell A2 I have a value 0.525, cell B2 has a formula "=round(A2,2)" which = 0.53, but cell C2 is assigned via VBA ie
Sheet1.Cells(2, 3).Value = Round(Sheet1.Cells(2, 1).Value, 2)
and the result is 0.52??
Round A Textbox Number
Aug 21, 2007I have a number in a cell (12.34) I wish to copy this number into a user form textbox. I can copy the number, however it is about 6 places behind the decimal point. How can I round the number going into a textbox to 2 places?

so on and so on
i could write a heap of if formulas but i would need every combination from .900 to 6.600

Eg
=ROUND(I36-I37,3-LEN(INT(Q16)))
in cell Q16 is a number 0.010 as displayed, and the sum of i36-i37=
0.007
I need the formula to say ok the minimum division size is in multiples
of Q16 (0.010) and change the 0.007 to either up or down depending on
the calculation.
This works currently, but the figure in Q16 can be 0.1 or 0.00001 etc,
and the sum in i36-i37 could be anything also as it is a calculated
error figure. I need the formula to be able to adapt automatically to
the reference DP in Q16.
Namely the "3-" part in the formula needs to accomodate for the Q16
number format changing.
Round Down Function

All cells in this formula are dates in the format dd-mmm-yyyy h:mm (except C1).
The formula works fine only if I type in a date/time like 09-Jun-2007 0:00 in cells A1 or B1. As soon as I revert to an actual date/time eg 09-Jun-2007 9:53, it returns a #VALUE! error.
If I reference only one cell eg:
=IF(A1"",IF(ROUNDDOWN(A1,0)=ROUNDDOWN('Sheet2'!$E$1,0),C1,""),"")
it works fine with or without an actual time.

Oct 30, 2009I'm trying to round some figures UP to the nearest .5, However i only know this formula: =MROUND(P2,0.5) and that rounds to the nearest .5? Is there anything i can use instead to make sure it is always up not down. so 6.13 becomes 6.50 or 7.53 become 8.00? etc.

May 20, 2009I have a search spreadsheet where I click a button, and an input box appears where I put a car reg in, and it searches a different sheet, returning results on the row the reg belongs in.
I've had a slight change in spec. I now need the same function to work, but instead of an input box.. I want the user to type the reg in a text box that is already on the sheet, and then click a search button to retrieve the results.
Is there anyway to easily amend the following code to get there?

After any entry a macro is rounding the value to the nearest multiple of 25 using application.worksheetfunctionceiling/floor functionality.
I've got a problem that as the value in the textbox approaches 33,000 I get an overflow error message. (I'm presuming at 32 bits)

Everytime I try running this code I receive the error: Run-time error '1004'; Application-defined or, Object-defined error. I've even tried Application.Run("Sheet1.AddFuel", TextBox1) but still no luck. I think this is a pretty common question but I couldn't find any answer to it on the forums.

May 18, 2006I am attempting to format some TextBoxes from within a For/Next loop. I need a way to check which TextBox is the active TextBox in the loop. Using i as the variable, I came up with this code snippet: Me.Controls("TB" & i).Text = Format("TB" & i, "mm/dd/yy")
If i = 3, this gives me in TextBox3 (which is called TB3) the text 'TB3' and not the value of what is in TB3. It has got to bo something simple, I just can't see it!!!

Here is my code, it does a vlookup and if the persons name is not found it will split the text entered into forename and surname but when i try and add

It actually displays &ForeName & in the text box of the next from rather than what ForeName is..
eg. John Smith -> search button -> user not found msg -> user wants to add user -> string is split into forename and surname -> forename = John , surname = Smith -> display this in the second form.
What code should i be using to do this, i thought that &ForeName & would work.

Adding Comments To Textbox And Having Textbox Keep Updating
Apr 3, 2014I have a form that has three fields (1. Comments (TEXT), 2. Legacy_Comments (TEXT), 3, Comment date (DATE))
Now my users need to keep adding comments to the comment text box, and when they do it automatically adds the date they entered the comment in the Comment date box. Now my problem is that since they keep adding comments to the comment box, I need to keep track of these comments in the Legacy_Comments (Text box).
For example, the First time a user enters a comment into the (1) comment text box it auto populates the date in the comment date box, and then adds the comment and date to the Legacy_Comment box. the end result is (comment,4/3/2014 now lets say a user needs to add a comment to the comments box tomorrow - I want the legacy_Comment box to then read (comment, 4/3/2014; comment2, 4/4/2014, ...., comment(n),date(n)) OR it can be vice-verse, because I just need to keep track of the comments, I am not worried if the new comments are before or after older (yesterdays / the day before yesterdays comments)
How can I write a VBA code that will always add the new comment to the legacy_comment field, without deleting the comments that were entered previously?
