I have used Option Buttons and Combo Boxes on my worksheet. When I print my worksheet, the controls which contain values do not print properly. They only print a fraction of their actual size relative to the rest of the worksheet. The properties are set so that they are printable. What setting do I need to change for them to print properly.
I just converted from Excel 2003 to 2007 and print previewed a worksheet and find a tiny image with a small portion of the print area. When I look at the sheet in page break preview mode, I see the 8.5 x 11 sheet broken up into approx 77 smaller sheets. When I try to move the page breaks to include the whole sheet it states the change cannot be made as it will result in an image less than 10%. I have attached two images - the first shows the print preview I get, and the second show the multiple pages when I view in page break.
I am trying to have a file print in legal size if I have 56 lines filled in otherwise print in regular letter size. Does anyone know how to write this in VBA.
I created an Excel timesheet, no VBA, which 65 people are using. 64 without a problem but the 65th cannot print the sheet as others can. The last cell on the single sheet is AB61. For the 64 who can print it by selecting the fit to print on one page the percent is 71. For the one person with problems the percent goes down to 10. Even when she opens the read only version on the network it becomes 10%. I checked the magins and everything else I can think of. Short of reinstalling Excel (2000 with Windows 2000)
I need to print a number of worksheets with an office logo at the top left corner of the sheet. While I have no problem with most of the sheets, a number of them keep resizing the logo to smaller dimensions once I get to the print preview page. I don't seem to be doing anything different for these sheets as they all follow the basic template. The only was to get the logo to print at the size I want is to make it larger that I actually need it.
I got a spreadsheet that has a range of used cells from C1:Q1000 but so far only C1:Q100 has been added data so far.
I am trying to get a VB to print range of cells but to fit in 1 page wide and still be readable.
Code: Sub Print_Area() Dim My_Range As String
On Error Resume Next 'enables error handling My_Range = InputBox("Enter the name of the area to print:")
[Code] .......
I have found this piece of code above and works perfectly only thing missing is page formating
Code: With ActiveSheet.PageSetup .FitToPagesWide = 1 .FitToPagesTall = to be dynamic and print if data in cells in as many pages it needs .Zoom = False End With
Since upgrading to Windows 2007 (I was already using Excel 2007) I am having issues with the content in the cells on the worksheet not appearing the same on Print Preview and when I print. On the worksheet the cell show to be at the best fit both horizontally and vertically. When I look at the contents under print preview, the contents are squashed from the top and cut off from the left. This happens whether I have the format in Top or Central align and is even worse if I use Bottom align. It is also somewhat worse if I have thickened boarders.
I have problems wit setting some ActiveX controls properties. If I place ActiveX on worksheet manually, it is diferrent object, then If I place it by VBA code. I, am not able to open properities window for controls created by VBA. When I open properties window for ActiveX created manually, there is property fmbackstyle. If I am trying to set this property by VBA for controls created by VBA, result is error.
I'm looking for a way to loop through the ActiveX controls (option buttons) in one sheet so that I can have these option buttons reflect what I select on the front sheet.
I have an excel file that has quite a few buttons with macros attached and combo boxes. On one computer it runs perfectly normally, however on another, when the file opens all the comboxes and buttons with macros attached have been stripped from the file.
I would like to know if it's possibale to use VB, to auto manage these levels IE, 1 box asks for the part number 2nd asks you how many 3rd/4th boxes are "+", "-" When + or - is pressed the part number will automatically add's/subtracts that part level. I had 10x abcde's I enter 2 in "How Many", then press "-" it will then adjust the level from 10 to 8
I am trying to implement code that can handle a dynamic number of objects, specifically check boxes.
I know of eval( ) in perl that allows one to dynamically create command lines. For instance, the following code would change all of the Checkbox values to 1. The syntax may not be correct but the idea is solid.
Do While i < num_checkboxes eval("Checkbox" .i. ".Value=1) Loop
I have a userform that stores data (1 row record with 20 columns) to a worksheet. Is there a way to grab the data back in (other or the same)userform, ambent(correct) data and store them back in the same row in the worksheet?
When placing a control on a worksheet, the text in the label, option box etc controls is vertical and I can't find a way of changing the direction to left to right. It doesn't happen on all workbooks. I can put the control on a "normal" workbook and then copy it to the "abnormal" workbook but I would like to know why/how I can change the direction of the text.
Under Tools/Options/International the text direction states left to right
I created a macro to create command buttons on sheet 1 of my worksheet. The created buttons using oleobject and class type: forms.commandbutton1, creates an object with no properties on the sheet (i.e. if you right click on it excel thinks it's an object and not a control.) Is there a way to create it as a control?
I would like to have 4 calendar controls in a worksheet, but even with only two controls I am receiving a Compile Error - Ambiguous name detected: Worksheet_BeforeDoubleClick
I'm currently building an Excel database. This database has a few comboboxes and checkboxes that are tied to each other. If I select the combobox option of "Years", the "Quarters" combobox must be greyed out. In addition depending on which option is chosen, the relevant check boxes must be enabeled or disabled. I've written some code which runs fine, until I try and activate another macro button or if I add and rename a sheet(which is not linked to anything). What should I do? Here is a sample of my code. I have a feeling it's really obviouse but I cant see it..
I had a data sheet that used about 20,000 rows, down to AF20000 or so. I deleted about 16,000 rows and now want to reduce the size of the worksheet so that when I hit Control+Shift+End, it takes me only to AF4000, not to AF20000. Can this be done without replicating into a new worksheet?
some spreadsheets i open dont have 65536 rows , they only a 100 or 200 its seems the worksheets have been cut down. how can i do this based on the last row in the e coloum.
Ie last entry in the e coloumn is 500 the worksheet to only be that big
I have seen a worksheet/workbook in the past that only contains (for example) Columns A:H and Rows 1:150. The rest of the columns and rows do not show. Unfortunately I cannot find the example I was looking at and I cannot find any information on how to achieve it.
I need to make several exact duplicates of an existing worksheet which includes several form controls. Basic Copy/ Paste the worksheet works well but row heights are different and hidden rows are unhidden. Is there a way to make an EXACT duplicate ?
I have a worksheet with lots of things going on... the end user needs access to the Name field, DOB field, all the scroll and form control option buttons in the 9-question sheet, and the macro-enabled reset button at the bottom. Formulas are sprinkled throughout the worksheet, in columns T through AC... option button links go to AA and AB.
I would like to protect the entire sheet so none of the fields, except where indicated above, could be selected or edited... but when I protect the sheet, I get errors when trying to use you form controls, and the formulas do not respond. And finally, when protected, I get a debug error on the reset macro.
I have a rather large spreadsheet that takes a long time to calculate. One sheet has the data (about 2800 rows by 650 columns), with samples in rows and data for each sample in the columns. A second sheet has functions to group the data according to predefined patterns. That second spreadsheet is about 800 columns wide and as many rows as I need it to be, as the samples don't need to be analyzed all at once.
Ideally I would like to do all samples at once by making the second spreadsheet 2800 rows high, but the calculation time is just way too long. And there's the problem. The calculation time seems to increase exponentially with the number of rows I calculate at a time. I ran a few tests making it different sizes, and here are the results:
rows time(seconds)
100 3.5 150 12 200 23
[Code]...
I tried both HLOOKUP and INDEX/MATCH functions and it didn't make a lot of difference. These numbers are for INDEX/MATCH.
Graphing these numbers show that it follows an exponential curve pretty closely. What is interesting is that the progress indicator at the bottom of the screen finishes in a few seconds, about 5 seconds for 350 rows, and I can see the new data after those few seconds. But then it sits and appears to do nothing for the rest of the time. So, for 350 rows, it looks to be done with the calculations within 5 seconds, but then it freezes for another 2 minutes with CPU usage maxed out before I can do anything with the program. That actual calculation time seems to scale linearly with the number of rows I calculate, but the time after it finishes calculating before it finishes whatever else it's doing scales exponentially.
The spreadsheet does have a macro and a couple of other sheets and a macro that do some later analysis and I wondered if that had something to do with it. To check that, I created a new spreadsheet and set it up the same as the original one, with the data in one spreadsheet and the INDEX/MATCH formulas in the other. I copied the data over, but setup the formulas new without copying/pasting anything. It didn't make any real difference.
I have a workbook with two worksheets, "Main" and "Control".
Both of them are with hidden tabs (unchecked "show sheet tabs").
On worksheet "Main" I have command button which opens worksheet "Control".
The assigned makro is: Sheets("Control").Select
The problem is: when I open "Control" and close after that the workbook, the next time when I open the workbook "Control" pops-up instead of "Main" even though I do not save it.
1. I need macro on "Main" which will allow me to open "Control".
2. Regardless I "Save" or "Don't Save" "Control" when selected and workbook is closed, to open the workbook always displaying worksheet "Main".
1. Copy cells B5 to V-First blank row in Strength Tests worksheet 2. Paste cells into Racks worksheet in cell C5 3. Change font size to 6 4. Sort by Column T descending then by Column C ascending 5. Copy one row (A5-W5 (1Rx23C)) from Racks worksheet 6. Paste row into M1 worksheet in cell D4 7. Print M1 8. Drop down one row on the Racks worksheet 9. Repeat steps 5-8 until there's a blank row.
I have a workbook that I am sending out to others for them to fill out. I would like to have them be able to click on a cell (or text within a cell) and have Excel print that worksheet in landscape mode or at least open the print dialog box.
