I'm using the following code to do conditional delete row, but would like to add a message box to confirm the "delete" with a Yes/No msgbox. I'd like to have the macro exit when the user clicks "no" but I'm missing something here.
1. I can't remember it, but I know there is a command so that the view hold and that the selected tabs and cells does not show and the same view remains until the "unhold" is called in the macro. THEN the view is updated. What is this command again? Could not find it...
2. The macro needs to delete tabs at the click of a button (easy part) but for each deletion, a message appear:
Data may exist in the sheet selected for deletion. To permanently delete this data, press Delete. Is there a way to prevent the message from popping out when the macro is executed?
I've made a reminder but I want to add a picture along with that reminder msgbox which has poped up. How can I add that? If possible, can I add any song/sound (ping) with the same?
I have a spreadsheet which contains 2 drop down pick lists in Field1 and Field2.
Code: FIELD1 | FIELD2 | FIELD3 -------------------------------------------- In Cell A2, I have this set in Data > Data Validation:
Allow: List Source: =CatList
If the user selects a value from the CatList range, then the drop-down options in Field2 are updated accordingly.
In Cell B2, I have this set in Data > Data Validation:
Allow: List Source: =INDIRECT(A2)
The Ranges are as follows:
Code: Cat1 | Cat2 | Cat3 --------------------------------------------- Cheese | Hat | Square Trees | Cat | Circle Bees | Sat | Triangle Knees | Mat | Rectangle Apologies | Bat | Octagon
I'd really like to be able to add a message into FIELD3, which is based on the value in Cat2
e.g. using pseudocode, something like:
If Field2 value = "Apologies" then put this message in Field3: "This requires approval from A" elseif Field2 value = "Triangle" then put this message in Field3: "This requires approval from XYZ" elseif Feidl2 value = "Bat" then put this message in Field3: "This does not require approval"
Basically this is for an access form, and I need to be able to add a feedback message to field3 based on what's in Field2.
I thought about using the INDIRECT option to add messages but I can't see how I'd do it. Maybe VB would do it, but I don't know it well enough.
I have created some vb code using the yes/no message box which is attached to a butoon on a sheet that delete's the active sheet and unhide's another sheet. I would like to know how do I by pass the builtin excel message box (the one with delete or cancel buttons) or is there a way of automatically activating the delete button on this message box.
I have the following code to compare two columns and delete adjacent rows if 1 is greater than or equal the other...
Sub LastReceipt_GT_Confirmed()
Dim intLstRow As Integer
For intLstRow = Range("E" & Rows.Count).End(xlUp).Row To 2 Step -1 With Range("E" & intLstRow) If .Value > .Offset(0, 1).Value Then .EntireRow.Delete End With Next intLstRow For intLstRow = Range("E" & Rows.Count).End(xlUp).Row To 2 Step -1 .............
I'd like to do is click the delete button and when clicked, it will search for matching records in column A & B and if they match... I'm thinking the code for that is <> but I'm not sure, then delete that record, and shift the cells up. Do this until the search results are empty below the delete button. Like I said, it's probably more understandable to look at the workbook.
I want to delete a sheet in a macro but when I run the macro, I always get a message warning and I have to answer the msg box to delete the page. Below is the macro command I am using.
I have a Macro (AutomateReport) that, among other things, calls and runs a macro (ReportStep1) in another workbook.
ReportStep1 includes three prompts asking the user to press "OK" to confirm that the data included is correct. When I call ReportStep1 as part of my larger macro I would like to suppress these prompts or automatically respond "OK" so that I don't have to be bothered with them.
SendKeys works sometimes, but I am hoping for a more reliable method.
If I run the macro and get the message box too pop up because I did not move, the macro will not run. I have too choose another one before I can get the one I want to work. I guess it needs a reset if the message box comes up.
I am just having a problem where at the end of my macro, the macro is looking for a value in a cell and there is no value at the end of the game for it to paste so I get an error. Instead of getting an error, I would like the macro to display, "You win!", if cell e1 is =1, "You lose!", if cell e1 is =2, and "tie game", if cell e1 is =0.
Now my requirement is, if the new month data is added (jul-06) in Ana sheet, that to be copied into sum sheet, (Jul-06 data to be copied from Ana sheet from C3:J23 has to be copied in Sum sheet from B56 onwards.
Here one more condition, if the jul-06 data is available macro has to give some message like “copied data is already available for Jul-06” or some message like “Data is Available you want to proceed”
Everytime I open the excel file I am working on I get a message saying that the file contains macros.
I have deleted all the macros I could find under "Tools" and "Macros" but I still get Module1.sortie, sortie and sortie listed. I can delete Module1.sortie but for the other two, sortie and sortie, I only have the "cancel" and "create" options.
I have a spreadsheet and a macro that creates a new sheet and enters some data into the sheet. The user gets to make some changes to the created sheet and then prints it out. I was wandering if there was any way to have a message coming up every 10 minutes remindnig the user about the new sheet untill it was printed out and then the warnings would stop. Could anyone sugest a good way to do that?
I am using a excel macro to send message from excel and i have the code to send the mail, but the body of the mail is coming in a single line but i need to send it in different lines, how to do that.
Is it possible to have a confirmation message box if you click a button to run a macro, eg "Are you sure you want to Insert a new row?" with "Yes" and "Cancel".
For purpose of this question my current macro is
Code: Sub Button3_Click() Rows(ActiveSheet.Shapes(Application.Caller).TopLeftCell.Row + 2).Insert Shift:=xlDown End Sub
With the MsgBox code, when that part of the VBA is reached, it requires the user to press the OK button for the next part of the VBA to execute. But is it possible when running a macro etc, for a MsgBox to appear right at the start, and remain for the duration of the macro, and then disappear (or an OK button appear) when the macro is finished? As some of the macros we run are long and it would be good to stop people from doing other things whilst it is running.
Is there a quick Macro I could use to rearrange text in a cell. For example our organisation list all the departments in an unconsistant way and it makes finding the departments hard using A-Z. For example some department will say "Department of ...", "Dept of ...", Division of ..." or "Div of ...". (Obviously excluding the quotes).
What I wanted to know is this. If you highlight the range you wish to work with, could you use a message box to ask you what text you wish to edit and then automatically search the range and make the changes.
For example search for "Dept of " (note I would need to keep the space after of otherwise I would have leading spaces) so that "Dept of ABC" becomes: "ABC, Dept of" and say "Division of XYZ" becomes "XYZ, Division of"
I'm trying to control the number of ways people can mess-up this worksheet. I have several buttons that copy one object from a worksheet "FISH PARTS" and paste them onto another "THE JUMPER FISHBONE"
My question is can I prevent people from copying objects from the first worksheet if they already exist on the second? Specific to the code below: how do I make sure "BONE_1" doesn't already exist on the worksheet "THE JUMPER FISHBONE" before allowing it to be copied from the other worksheet. And can I generate a message box that tells the user the object already exists on the page.
In my workbook I have a form that loads some information to my database. When the information is entered and the form button is pressed I want a message box to appear to give the user some information. On that message box I want there to be a button that the user has to press before the message box disappears.
I Have a tool which will be used online & offline.
I would like a box to appear on the opening of the spreadsheet which asks the user "Are you online?", with options "Yes" & "No", if the user selects "Yes" then a macro (which i have already written) refreshes the spreadsheet.
if the user selects "No", the sheet is not resfreshed.
i have outlook message stored in my desktop. I want a macro to open that outlook message and update or change the subject name and boby of message. is it possible through macro.
When clicking the button on my userform, it goes through a quite complex process of changing the views in several pivot tables that are linked to an "report" sheet, which has all the figures the user needs in a neat format.
Changing these pivot tables takes up to a minute, so I wanted a userform, called "frmwait", to pop when clicking the command button. It would say "Generating Your Report - Please Wait". At the same time, the initial userform, which is called "frmroutedashboard", would be hidden.
This does not happen - the "frmwait" userform shows, however the "frmroutedashboard" does not hide.
Is this because the code I composed uses the values on the "frmroutedashboard" to generate the view, and it cannot hide until the report is completed? If so, there must be a way around this. Anyone know how?
I have a macro which auto prints a series of workbooks and it works very well - except (there is always an except right?) some of the workbooks brink up a dialog box saying "this workbook contains links to other data sources" Update, Don't Update or Help"
how to prevent this box from appearing and interrupting the print flow? I want to be able to run this macro and wallk away while it merrily does its printing job - not sit at the monitor hitting No No No over and over (yes i do NOT want to update the workbook)
Public Sub Auto_Open() Dim sCurFile As String Dim sPath As String Dim mpath As String
mpath = InputBox("Enter the month and year, i.e. 0207 for Feb 2007", "print")
fpath = InputBox("Enter day of the month to print (no leading 0's)?", "print")
