Message Box On Opening Of Spreadsheet - Option To Run Macro Or Not

I Have a tool which will be used online & offline.
I would like a box to appear on the opening of the spreadsheet which asks the user "Are you online?", with options "Yes" & "No", if the user selects "Yes" then a macro (which i have already written) refreshes the spreadsheet.
if the user selects "No", the sheet is not resfreshed.
What is the best way to do this?

I cannot figure out how to get my error handler to work, or actually, not work. It seems to work fine when there is an error, but the code still gets read even when there was not an error. Basically, I am trying to open a file, which may or may not be there. When it is not there I want a message to pop up informing the user. However, when the file is there and it opens, the error handler still gives the message box. Any ideas what I am doing wrong?

I have a form with the following code:

My problem is that no matter which option button is selected, all I get is the results for Case 2 and then the vlookup doesn't work. So if the user wants to cancel and reenter a new clock number they have to close the form and manually reopen it.
This was working until I decided I wanted a vbOKCancel instead of a VbOkOnly. However the uploader is not working for me.

I have a spreadsheet saved. Its a report with formulas in. I have saved this as a master copy and when opening you can only open in read only or enter a password to open to edit. The report is produced monthly, so each moth the master is opened and the user has to save the ss with a new file name.
I want to put VBA code so that when a they open the ss in read only. a popup box appears asking to them to "Save the Report Now" with a save as button. This would then open the Save As window

I have given the data of Japan & China Plants. Now the total production of japan Plants are sum of plant 1,2 &3. But production of China plants are variable & need to fix by us. get the code for sending multiple emails as per the spreadsheet list. Assume the spreadsheet has 100 line items and each columns specifies the name of the person, value, recipient email address ("To" and "CC") and sender name.
And the Body of text is :

Is it possible to open an OpenOffice spreadsheet in Excel while keeping all formulas?
At the minute when I try this, Excel just opens the spreadsheet with the values of each cell from OpenOffice (the results of the formulas) and not the actual formulas themselves.

I am working on a personal macro that is lauched from a file that is produced on a weekly basis resulting in a filename that changes every week due to a date range that is in the file name (ex. Weekly Accounting 04_16_14 to 04_22_14.xlsx), for this example I will call this "Spreadsheet A". When working with this spreadsheet I open another spreadsheet ("Spreadsheet B") to retreive data and I then need to go back to Spreadsheet A again to paste this data. The problem I have is I don't know how to go back to Spreadsheet A since the name changes each week and I cannot hard code the name into the coding. I usually use Windows("Random Spreadsheet.xlsx").Activate to go between spreadsheets, but in this case I cannot.
Is there something that will allow me to return to Spreadsheet A no matter what it is named?

I was wondering if you can make a popup open when a user opens a spreadsheet. I have some templates i made and users continue to make the same mistakes. I was hoping to add a form/pop so when the file was opened a popup would come up with reminders. Once they press ok they can proceed.

I currently have a spreadsheet that my deparment use at work. Its just a full time equivallent sheet, nothing fancy. However I added code onto it to prevent users opening it as I was updating it.
However I went to open it and It wouldnt open. It wouldn't recognise me as being the exception. Its just a code on the workbook open that says if user is "slb090" (which is me) then do nothing, else msgbox and just a quickie sayign come back later".
I have attached the spreadsheet, in the hope someone can open this for me and remove the message so I can open it!

I add data validation into 4 columns and when i re-open the spread sheet after saving it, it clears all validation.
Although it clears the validation, the place where it gets the data from is still there. i have also unfroze panes and is still clearing data validation
Attached is the spread sheet. The data validation is in columns A, G, H and I on the 'unsourced' page and is getting the data frfom the 'Sheet1' Page.

have a password protected spreadsheet with a userform for people to enter data. This allows them to enter data, but stops them from editing or deleteing data once entered.
When the spreadsheet is opened, it asks for a password to unlock it. Hitting cancel allows the user to continue and the userform pops up for the user to enter data. I would like to disable the initial password prompt when the file is opened to avoid confusion on the users part.

You know when you go to open a spread sheet and someone else is in it you get the message saying "open read only" "Notify" etc.
I have a spread sheet that isn't showing that message. So users are opening it, editing away and then finding that they can't save it because it's opening in read-only. How do I get that message to show?

how to make a MsgBox open anytime a cell in Column A was double-clicked--and the content of the MsgBox was from the cell in the same row in column Z. I've now realized the double-clicking isn't an ideal solution, as it's easy to click in another cell and mess up all the formulas.
(1) Code that deactivates the "edit directly in cell" option when the workbook is opened.
(2) Code that opens the MsgBox when a cell in Column A is clicked just once (or similarly less fool-proof than double-clicking or right-clicking).

I have several option groups (Y & N in each) linked to cells to display TRUE / FALSE depending on which option is selected in each group. I have another cell which I want to apply conditional formatting to if EITHER Y or N is selected in all groups. At present I use COUNTIF to check for FALSE=0 in the linked cells which works if all the answers are Y. How do I apply CF if there is a mixture of Y & N (TRUE / FALSE) in all groups (I'm not sure if I've explained that well or not).

Just a curios question is it possible to have a button on a macro that if you press it would run one set of instruction, but if the user was holding a key down say the shift key and pressed the same button, it would run a second set of instruction

I have a macro that runs when a spreadsheet is opened however i sometimes need it not to run. Rather then furiously hit escape i was hoping to get a dialog box that would prompt yes/no to run the macro and if an option was not chosen after a few second then to run the macro anyway (so basically only by clicking "no" would you stop the macro from running).
I found this code here that gives me the yes/no message box and the 5 second time-out to get rid of the message box, however if the message times out it doesn't run the macro. what i need to tweak to make it do so if no input comes from the user? [URL]

I finally completed a macro that would loop through selected workbooks in a folder and pull results to be shown in a new workbook.
This works fine by using a worksheet where the files are listed and in a1 of the worksheet, the path to the folder.
We have one workstation on the LAN with restricted access to the server, and therefore has mapped drives. Therefore the path to the folder containing the workbooks is different.
How could I instruct the macro when invoked - so in the case of that workstation - if the macro cannot find the files at the path stated in a1 of the workbook, it is to try a different location (The folder containing the workbooks is actually Drive:T)

I have done much searching, found some relevant, similar postings, but I have not been able to make it work for my code. I want to have multiple option buttons and have a macro determine which one is selected. One similar posting had macros run from the clicking on the option button, but I want the macro to determine which is clicked and then return some functions. From my research...this is my code.
