Macro- Message Like “Data Is Available You Want To Proceed”
Feb 17, 2007
In the attached file 2 sheets are therewith data
Sheet 1 named as - Ana
Sheet 2 named as – Sum
Now my requirement is, if the new month data is added (jul-06) in Ana sheet, that to be copied into sum sheet, (Jul-06 data to be copied from Ana sheet from C3:J23 has to be copied in Sum sheet from B56 onwards.
Here one more condition, if the jul-06 data is available macro has to give some message like “copied data is already available for Jul-06” or some message like “Data is Available you want to proceed”

Company Name | Model # | Comments |
ABC | 1234 | Good |
DFG | 3245 | Bad |
IUR | 8950 | Moderate |
ABC | 2435 | Bad |
IUR | 2432 | Moderate |
.
(could be >100 entries under 20 companies)
We need to group the above data by company, copy it into a new file, and send it to respective company...
Any macro can serve this purpose? Save .xls to a location named by company name will be perfect as we'll send the files by mail merge to email with attachment.
In addition, the headers need to be included in the new files too...

I got the values Range("a4").Value, ComboBox1.Value, ComboBox2.Value, ComboBox3.Value, ComboBox4.Value, ComboBox5.Value, Range("d7").Value, ComboBox6.Value
If any of them are blank or empty, and commandButton1 is pressed. It'll come up a popup window that says "One of the fields is empty!"
How do I to write the code?

I have a Macro (AutomateReport) that, among other things, calls and runs a macro (ReportStep1) in another workbook.
ReportStep1 includes three prompts asking the user to press "OK" to confirm that the data included is correct. When I call ReportStep1 as part of my larger macro I would like to suppress these prompts or automatically respond "OK" so that I don't have to be bothered with them.
SendKeys works sometimes, but I am hoping for a more reliable method.

I am just having a problem where at the end of my macro, the macro is looking for a value in a cell and there is no value at the end of the game for it to paste so I get an error. Instead of getting an error, I would like the macro to display, "You win!", if cell e1 is =1, "You lose!", if cell e1 is =2, and "tie game", if cell e1 is =0.

Everytime I open the excel file I am working on I get a message saying that the file contains macros.
I have deleted all the macros I could find under "Tools" and "Macros" but I still get Module1.sortie, sortie and sortie listed. I can delete Module1.sortie but for the other two, sortie and sortie, I only have the "cancel" and "create" options.

Could anyone sugest a good way to do that?

Is it possible to have a confirmation message box if you click a button to run a macro, eg "Are you sure you want to Insert a new row?" with "Yes" and "Cancel".
For purpose of this question my current macro is
Code:
Sub Button3_Click()
Rows(ActiveSheet.Shapes(Application.Caller).TopLeftCell.Row + 2).Insert Shift:=xlDown
End Sub

With the MsgBox code, when that part of the VBA is reached, it requires the user to press the OK button for the next part of the VBA to execute. But is it possible when running a macro etc, for a MsgBox to appear right at the start, and remain for the duration of the macro, and then disappear (or an OK button appear) when the macro is finished? As some of the macros we run are long and it would be good to stop people from doing other things whilst it is running.

Is there a quick Macro I could use to rearrange text in a cell. For example our organisation list all the departments in an unconsistant way and it makes finding the departments hard using A-Z. For example some department will say "Department of ...", "Dept of ...", Division of ..." or "Div of ...". (Obviously excluding the quotes).
What I wanted to know is this. If you highlight the range you wish to work with, could you use a message box to ask you what text you wish to edit and then automatically search the range and make the changes.
For example search for "Dept of " (note I would need to keep the space after of otherwise I would have leading spaces) so that "Dept of ABC" becomes: "ABC, Dept of" and say "Division of XYZ" becomes "XYZ, Division of"

how I would display a message to the user before the workbook is closed regardless if any changes have been made e.g.
Ideally there would on be an “OK” option only by way of acknowledgement and also no option to close the message by the ‘x’ in top right corner.

I'm trying to control the number of ways people can mess-up this worksheet. I have several buttons that copy one object from a worksheet "FISH PARTS" and paste them onto another "THE JUMPER FISHBONE"
My question is can I prevent people from copying objects from the first worksheet if they already exist on the second? Specific to the code below: how do I make sure "BONE_1" doesn't already exist on the worksheet "THE JUMPER FISHBONE" before allowing it to be copied from the other worksheet. And can I generate a message box that tells the user the object already exists on the page.

I would like a box to appear on the opening of the spreadsheet which asks the user "Are you online?", with options "Yes" & "No", if the user selects "Yes" then a macro (which i have already written) refreshes the spreadsheet.
if the user selects "No", the sheet is not resfreshed.
What is the best way to do this?

When clicking the button on my userform, it goes through a quite complex process of changing the views in several pivot tables that are linked to an "report" sheet, which has all the figures the user needs in a neat format.
Changing these pivot tables takes up to a minute, so I wanted a userform, called "frmwait", to pop when clicking the command button. It would say "Generating Your Report - Please Wait". At the same time, the initial userform, which is called "frmroutedashboard", would be hidden.
This does not happen - the "frmwait" userform shows, however the "frmroutedashboard" does not hide.
Is this because the code I composed uses the values on the "frmroutedashboard" to generate the view, and it cannot hide until the report is completed? If so, there must be a way around this. Anyone know how?
The initial code so far looks like this:
frmroutedashboard.hide
Application.Cursor = xlWait
Application. ScreenUpdating = False
Application.DisplayStatusBar = True
Application.StatusBar = "Updating Route Dashboard..."
I thought if it looked like this, it would be sufficient. Unfortunately, the file is too large to attach, so I hope the code suffices.
frmroutedashboard.hide
frmwait.show
Application.Cursor = xlWait
Application.ScreenUpdating = False
Application.DisplayStatusBar = True
Application.StatusBar = "Updating Route Dashboard..."

I have a macro which auto prints a series of workbooks and it works very well - except (there is always an except right?) some of the workbooks brink up a dialog box saying "this workbook contains links to other data sources" Update, Don't Update or Help"
how to prevent this box from appearing and interrupting the print flow? I want to be able to run this macro and wallk away while it merrily does its printing job - not sit at the monitor hitting No No No over and over (yes i do NOT want to update the workbook)
Public Sub Auto_Open()
Dim sCurFile As String
Dim sPath As String
Dim mpath As String
mpath = InputBox("Enter the month and year, i.e. 0207 for Feb 2007", "print")
fpath = InputBox("Enter day of the month to print (no leading 0's)?", "print")

Below is some code that I found on the internet some while ago. When Excel opens this code runs which brings up a message box prompting a user to select an option. If no option is selected within 15 seconds then the macro runs, else it depends on the selection entered.
The problem that I am experiencing is that sometimes when the user does not select an option the macro does not execute after the coded 15 seconds. The message box just sticks around until a selection is made.
Most of the time it works just fine... some of the time it doesn't. The problem would appear to have gotten worse since upgrading to Excel 2010.
So, my question is either:
1. Why the code does not execute as expected each time Excel is opened?
2. Is there a better / more robust way of executing the below code without using "shell"?
[Code] ......

1. I can't remember it, but I know there is a command so that the view hold and that the selected tabs and cells does not show and the same view remains until the "unhold" is called in the macro. THEN the view is updated. What is this command again? Could not find it...
2. The macro needs to delete tabs at the click of a button (easy part) but for each deletion, a message appear:
Data may exist in the sheet selected for deletion. To permanently delete this data, press Delete. Is there a way to prevent the message from popping out when the macro is executed?
