Is it possible to have a conditional cell based on the actions of another cell in a second database sheet.
For example: A single excel file contains two database sheets. If any characters are entered into cell A1 of sheet 2, then cell A1 of sheet 1 turns grey.
I am currently using a product formula in a cell and was wondering if I could add a round up/down action to numbers containing decimals? For example, let's say that my cell values are 300, 327.6 and 355.2 after using the product formula. Is it possible for those values to reflect 300, 328 and 355, respectively?

I have made an class and created a file to log when user change value or insert formula in a sheet get recorded in a file C:Logme.csv. The problem is it is recording the value and formula at random i.e in some instances it records the value and in some instances it is not recording the value and formula in logme.csv . I am unable to figure out why this is happening?

Attempt (within some For loop):
othCell = ActiveCell.Offset(-95 - counter, 0)
If othCell = CVErr(xlErrNum) Then conditioncount = 0
This generates a "type mismatch" error. I also tried othCell.value in place of othCell on the second line; I don't really follow the distinction in usage for "value". I've also attempted this with Error 2036 in place of CVErr(xlErrNum). I don't know much at all about VBA!
I have two columns. In column B is the date of "last check". I column A is the date of "next check". I would like to have cell A2 in yellow color 334 days after the date entered in cell A3 and than in red color 365 days after the date entered in cell A3. Same thing for cell B2 related to date entered in cell B3. Yellow color in cells announces that check will expire within 30 days and red color that check has been expired.

I an using the "The formula is =$AA$30=1" where the cell AA30 is the cell linked to the other sheet. the problem is I have to do thiss for approx 200 cells ie =$AA$30=1, =$AB$30=1, =$AA$31=1, =$AB$31=1 --- =$AZ$42=1. Do I have to enter the formulea for each cell or is there a way to automate this?

View 8 Replies View RelatedThis is for Excel 2007. I simply want to lock cell H20 and make it's value equal to zero if anything other than 0 is entered into H19. And vice versa (make H19 equal to 0 and lock it if anything greater than 0 is entered into H20). So only one cell can hold a value not equal to zero at a time, and the one that is zero needs to be locked. Here's what I have so far. It locks H20 based on H19 being > 0, but doesn't do the vice versa part. And it also doesn't make H20 = 0 when it locks it.

2. A1 will turn back to white if either "John Doe" or "Jane Doe" is inserted in B1.
3. If no value is inserted in A1, A1 needs to remain white.
4. I'll need to do the same for A2-B2, and so on.
That's it. I tried this in C1: =IF(AND(A1>2000,B1="JANE DOE"),1,IF(AND(A1>2000,B1="JOHN DOE"),1,0)).
I then used Conditional Formatting in A1 to point to C1 and turn the red in A1 off or on based on the result. Hey, it worked! Problem is, A1 needs to stay white until a value is entered, and no value entered returns 0 (red), which oddly enough is exactly what I'm telling it to do. Surprise! How do I get A1 to default to white until a value is entered in A1?

the main thing is that the cells in the rows have if formulas that supple the data for the cells. The cells will be blank if nothing is to be displayed but they will still contain the formula.
I want to format a cell conditional on the value of another cell. I have read numerous threads on the topic and no matter what I do, it doesn't seem to work for me. I've made it a simple as possible by creating a new workbook and entering:
A1: 5
B1: 2
C1: Some random text - this cell has the conditional formula: ="A1>B1"
However, the cell doesn't get formatted. Here is a screenshot and here is the simple workbook.

I am attempting to apply conditional formatting such that cell B3 is green if it is greater than or equal to cell B2, and red if less than cell B2. Then to apply this conditioning across the row of data (i.e. C3 >= C2 green, C3 < C2 red; D3 >= D2 green, D3 < D2 red; E3 >= E2 green, E3 < E2 red ... etc.). Needs to be formatted such that if I change the value in cell B2, the colour of B3 is automatically updated.
View 4 Replies View RelatedWith the click of a toolbar button, I've got my vba inserting a new tab, renaming it, inserting headers and now working on the code to insert all the formulas needed in 12 columns to copy down as far as there is data.
The 4th column D is the hardest. Currently, I'm using manual "Conditional Formatting" to colorize the cells in Col D but need the VBA to place that "Conditional Formatting" code into the sheet so that when the sheet is created, it will hold the conditional formatting feature.
Specifically, the formulas I'm using in the Conditional format wizard are:
Formula: =$B2$D2 then turn the cell red Applies to: =$D$2:D
Copy down (in other words, the colorizing should work all the way down Column D as long as there is data in Col D.
I am manually formatting column J depending on what data is entered into column K. If the number entered into the cells in column K are equal to or less than what is in column J, I format the data in the cells in column J with the green you see above. If the data entered in the column K cells are greater than column J, I format it in the red shown above.
So, how can I have Excel do this for me, format column J cells depending upon what is entered into column K cells? The caveat here is that I also don't want any formatting to occur until data is entered into column K.
How to write a VBA that will, if the value of a cell in column "U" is TRUE, that row's FONT (for the row the TRUE cell is in) will turn red.

This works very nicely, so that for example if I type the number 10 into cell M33, that cells fill colour becomes black (and the text turns white). Alas I would now also like to extend the fill and text colour to the cell one to the left too. To take this example I would type 10 into cell M33 and cells L33 and M33 would both be filled black and their text would be white. I'm not sure if this requires a change to the code, or if its possible to just have a formula or something which copies the fomatting of one cell into another

I have some problem with conditional formatting, basically what I'd like to do is color the cells, based on the value contained in one specific cell. I'm not able to make a formula that suits my job.
Basically I want to color code a cell if the value in a specified cell is between x and y.

I would like to be able to change the color of fill in a cell if there are 3 occurrences in cells. Attached is a sample.
In the attachment, if the cells A2, D2, G2 all have a number "1" in them I would like cell K2 to have a color fill for the cell.
The same would be for the other cells, if B2, E2, H2 all have the number "1", K2 should have a fill in the cell as well, same as if C2, F2, I2 have a number "1", fill K2.
I only want the fill color to be in cell K2 if all 3 of the cells, ex: A2, D2, G2 have a "1" in them. Also, some of the other cells may have a number "1" in them but I would not want them counted unless it is 3 of the consecutive cells.
I have a cell which I want to colour green if C6>9, yellow if O6>60 and red if BOTH C6 and O6 are above their respective numbers. The first two parts of this are obviously straight forward, but I cant work out how to get the third part of it to work.

column M and H are in below format:

Now i want to format the column'R' like
if column J ="P2" and column 'R' > "00:10:00"(10 mins) =it should become red.
if column J="P3" and column 'R'>"00:30:00"(30 mins) = it should become red.
