Named ranges: NumGuests _ArrivalDate _DepartureDate _CheckInTime _CheckOutTime
Need number of breakfasts
Number of Lunches
Number of Dinners for a given day of the week.
So if a guest is here say Jan 25 arriving after 9am, staying 2 nights they will have Lunch and Dinner on the 25th, BLD on the 26th and BL on the 27th. Since by default most arrive after 9 (miss breakfast), we can eliminate the checkin time for the breakfast calc and make the first one for the next day.
There might be other guests staying through that time period. The ******* would like to know how many meals they will need to prepare for the week.

May 8, 2009how to make a certain type of date automate. It's kind of hard to explain, but basically, I'd like to make it so that when I enter a date in one column, another column will automatically populate with the 1st of the next month. For example:
If I enter 4/26/2009 in the 1st column, column 2 will read: 5/1/2009
If I enter 1/19/2008 .................................................. 2/1/2008
Also, it's very important that if the FIRST date is already the first of the month, then the second column will read the same. For instance: If I enter 3/1/2009 in the first colum, the second column will ALSO read 3/1/2009.

To accomplish this manually would be a daunting task. I'm a newbie to excel and don't know how to use any in-built functions.

I want to perform a dickey fuller test to see if there is a unit root, but for this I can’t have repeated time values, thus I need to create a daily average TR for each day (Thus summing up all TR values for all companies that have data on TR available on that day and averaging them).
How in excel can create an average value for TR every time a series of numbers in the “date” column take the same value? The best thing possible would then be if this could appear so that I have a data set that looks like

Aug 11, 2014I have a column in my data set that consists of dates and times in this format: 2014/08/02 01:46:49 PM. I am trying to convert these dates and times to numbers so that I can actually use these values for calculations and regression analysis. When I click on one of the cells, I get a number that is revealed along with decimals. For example, the cell with 2014/08/02 01:46:49 PM had a stored value of 41853.574. I tried to highlight the entire column of dates + times and click on the format cells button. I selected the number category under number but that did not work. I also tried to use the =DateValue(Cell #) function but that did not allow for distinguishing between the same date but different times.
What are my options for converting these dates and times to numbers that I can work with? Is there a way to get the entire column of dates + times to show each cell's numeric stored value?

Earliest Date From A Column Of Dates
Dec 10, 2008I have a column of dates listed at the bottom of this post. I am looking to have a formula in a cell that gives me the earliest date from the column. I have tried Min() and Small() with no success. Is it perhaps the "AM" and "PM" that is throwing things off? A small example of the data:
11/21/2008 AM11/09/2008 AM11/09/2008 PM11/09/2008 PM11/10/2008 PM11/11/2008 AM11/11/2008 AM

Start Date - 14/03/2013 (Cell A2)
I want to look up this date against a 52 week structure to see where it is in our "working calendar year". I've got a table which has the following fields:
Week Start (Cell E2) - E.G 11/03/2013
Week End - (Cell F2) - E.G 18/03/2013
Week Title - (Cell G2) - Week 1
This table follows the same format for all 52 weeks.
Now in this example "Start Date" falls between the "Week Start" and "Week End" date so I want to output Week 1 in cell B2. However I could have a "Start Date" of 29/03/2013 that falls in week 3 of the working calendar.

Adding Dates To Column And Keeping Data Associated With Proper Date?
Jun 19, 2013I have a column with dates and times, and an associated column with data for all the dates and times. I want to add every hour of every day to the date/time column, but want the data associated with the times to stay in the row next to the correct time. How would I do this? In the attached file, i want to make coulmns A and B look like Coulnds E and F. I have hundreds (if not thousands) of rows, so i need a way to do this easily. Also, the times are not all evenly spaced or exactly on the hour. I dont need the times to be exactly on the hour or spaced out evenly, but i would like to have at least one time from every hour.

Excel 2007 :: Choose Date From A Range Of Dates In Column On Sheet
Feb 6, 2012Excel 2007 Q: I have a combo box (ActivX) that I want to be able to choose a a date from a range of dates in column A on sheet 'Working Copy'. I want a cell to update with the number/position of the date when the date is chosen i.e. the first date in the range yields 1 the second date yields 2 and so on. I also want the date to be displayed in dd-mmm-yyyy format. I am able to get the cell to give the correct position of the date but the date reverts to five digit number in combo box. I can change the code to return the correct date in the combo box when the date is chosen but then the cell just returns 0.
How can I make it so that the combo box returns the correct date and the cell updates with the position instead of jsut one or the other?

Dec 9, 2006I am parsing a string which contains (European) dates:
"10/08/2005,11/08/2005,12/08/2005,13/08/2005,14/08/2005,".
When broken into individual cells, dates before the 13th of the month are recognised as "American" dates and display as "08/10/2005", "08/11/2005", 08/12/2005" etc. with automatic date format. Dates from the 13th onwards are left in general format as "13/08/2005", "14/08/2005".
I have written a macro that converts each date individually to its correct Excel serial number, but I can't help thinking that there must be a simpler way, and that I cannot be the first to have asked this!
