View 5 RepliesI want some vbs code on my 'Copy All' button in Email Data sheet which will do my work. Its a bit lengthy but who knows the concept will find it easy.
I have one sheets -
Sheet attached - Worksheet .xlsm
Workshet.xlsm [Data in 'Mod' sheet i)should convert from text to column and paste in 'Row Data' sheet ii) then transfer form Row Data sheet to 'Email Data' sheet 'Mobile Data' sheet and 'Other Data' sheet when Copy All button is clicked in Email Data sheet.
There should be some logic which will fetch appropriate date from 'Mod' sheet to the respective sheet . We can have some kind of logic like
If 'Register' found then take the value of register and workstation and paste in Email Data sheet.
All data below should be fetched from Row Data sheet which is blank now and will get the data when we click the Copy All button ,
1st Register Count:
Below Register Count (*) i.e. 16 If workstation count present copy to E15 in Email Data sheet in Table B
Below Register Count (*) i.e. 9 If register count present copy to E16 in Email Data sheet Table B
2nd Register Count:
Below Register Count (*) i.e. 8942 If workstation count present copy to C15 in Email Data sheet in Table B
Below Register Count (*) i.e. 2883 If register count present copy to C16 in Email Data sheet in Table B
3rd Register Count:
Below Register Count (*) i.e. 0 If workstation count present copy to E18 in Email Data sheet in Table B
Below Register Count (*) i.e. 1 If register count present copy to E19 in Email Data sheet in Table B
4th Register Count:
Below Register Count (*) i.e. 98 If workstation count present copy to C18 in Email Data sheet in Table B
Below Register Count (*) i.e. 999 If register count present copy to C19 in Email Data sheet in Table B
Substr:
B32:B44 will be pasted in C29:C41 in Email Data sheet in Table C
i.e. 10 to 22 values should match in corresponding 10 to 22 values in Email Data sheet , if not not any value then 0
B50:B62 will be pasted in B29:B41 in Email Data sheet in Table C
i.e. 10 to 22 values should match in corresponding 10 to 22 values in Email Data sheet , if not not any value then 0
I got following Hex data in text format, I need change them to decimal,
0324 00BF 0000 0000 030C 00C6 0000 0000
0305 00C7 0000 0000 02FE 300F 040B 4753
4D4D 5352 4E4D 5343 4E31 0030 0F0A 0101
firstly I did txt to columns, then I found some data changed to scientific format which is not I wanted as I could not convert it using function HEX2DEC.
032400BF00000000030C00C600000000
030500C70000000002FE300F040B4753
4D4D53524E4D53434.00E+3100300F0A0101
if I set column data format to text when I doing Text to Columns operation then all data will be text, so I still can not convert them to decimal.
I have a .txt file which i need to convert using text to columns in excel, obviously this is simple, however my .txt file is 325000+ rows of data
Is there anyway I can Excel can cope with this amount of data, I know that my row limitation is 65536, can i spread the data across multiple sheet tabs?
I have checked to see if this has been answered before and can not find an exact reply. My problem is that I have a combined column of address: Suburb, State, Postcode - which needs to be broken into three which not be done accurately using tet to column or fx - left mid or right. The issue is that the Suburb could be made up of one or two Words with a space between. So I can not separate using text to columns as in some cases the suburbs comprised of two words will put the second word in the "state" column. It can also not be done using Left, Right,Mid, as they number of characters differs in each line. example problem with columns to text.jpg

I am very new to VBA and have found a task out of my programming abilities using VBA.
I need code that will take a text file that begins as this shown in textfile.jpg
and ends up like the following attached picture of the results spreadsheet group.jpg
I'm trying to protect the contents of columns in multiple sheets in a workbook. I've tried to group the columns ( - months, i.e. sept, oct, nov 09 through to march 10) but when I go to Protection options the 'sheet' protection option is not available, all I can do is protect or unprotect the entire workbook.
I've also tried to protect the workbook, but individually set the specific columns in each sheet to be protected (repetitious but seemingly unavoidable), but this doesn't work well either as there's now a mix of a protected workbook and protected columns, both with individually set passwords to unprotect... which seems a bit silly.
There must be a way around this? - the columns are H, J, K and L, and the entire contents of the summary sheet '2009-10 Financial Year'... basically I'd like to be able to protect all of the contents of all of the cells here, ideally just with one password.
Is it possible to automatically have columns repeat through all sheets in a workbook? I keep an annual book, broken down by sheets for each month. I always have to add 5 columns to each sheet, and was wondering if there was an easier way..?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a workbook with many sheets labelled as mmm-yyyy. The constant columns in all the sheets are C,E,R,T, and U.
Is it possible to have a macro do the following: Add a sheet called Summary at the end of the workbook. From the last sheet of mmm-yyyy, copy columns C, E, and R to the Summary sheet. Copy columns T and U from all the other mmm-yyyy sheets to the Summary sheet. All the cells need to be centered.
I have data in Column A that is from a text file that contains 50,000 rows , this is pipe delimited data that is 300 columns wide. I would like to be able to keep the columns but using the Text to Column functions means that I lose some them.
I was wondering if anyone knew how to separate the text in to 2 sheets, with the first 200 columns in Sheet 1 and the remaining in Sheet 2. The reason I would like to separate the information in to cells is so that I can investigate the data better.
Its not possible to traspose this information as the rows are nearly 50,000 long.
Here is a small sample of what 1 row is like, it not the entire row. Each "|" character represents a break and a new column.

I want macro which export each excel column to new text file. The data in excel file is number. The column has only 5 rows that means each new text file should contain five lines of one column. It looks simple but couldn't manage to do macro for it. I have very big data set in one excel file, and have to be splitted into text files. The file name in new text files can be any kind as long as it can be in some sort of order for each export.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a work sheet named "Main_List"...In column D starting with "D2" I would like to list worksheets that I would like to have printed via VBA.
The workbook has several hundred worksheets and I would like to list in column D only worksheets that I would like to print with VBA code.
I have the following two columns, and would like to obtain for each individual Company, the corresponding Country values excluding duplicates as text in a single cell.
Company 2Country B
Company 2Country C
Company 3Country C
Company 3Country C
Company 5Country A
Company 5Country C
Company 5Country C
For example:
- For Company 2, a cell containing "Country B, Country C"
- For Company 3, a cell containing "Country C"
- For Company 5, a cell containing "Country A, Country C"
I've approached generating an array using an IF statement, as in =IF(INDEX(A1:A8="Company 5",,),INDEX(B1:B8,,)," "), which returns the following array: ={" ";" ";" ";" ";" ";" ";" ";"Country A";"Country C";"Country C";" ";" ";" ";" "}.
The question is: how do I get that array to produce, as text in a cell: "Country A, Country C". Note that the duplicate Country C has been removed.
There are a few "StringConcat" User-defined functions that I've found elsewhere on the internet, but they don't seem to be able to handle to conditionally generated IF Index array, which I would think is key to parsing between Countries corresponding to each Company in the list.
Programming Excel VBA Macro to do OCR (text recognition) from a prt scr screen capture image and input the text into cells. Currently my Excel file has a push-button, and upon clicking on it the macro pastes into Excel the current clipboard image I have created by pressing prt scr while in another program. The macro then crops the image to the region with the applicable text. I have to then manually type the text I see in image format into the appropriate cells.
the VBA coding to automate this? I'd like it to use the clipboard image and run it through OneNote OCR, after which the applicable text values are automatically entered into the cells. Ideally the code will first crop to the region with the desired text before it does OCR. If this is not feasible, it will need to incorporate a method (keyword search?) to hone in on the desired text after the entire prt scr image has been OCRed.
Trying to create a new workbook from another open workbook, then copying all the sheets that aren't called "Summary" to that new open workbook and then saving it. I get a subscript error on this line:

I have added a example sheet with the code i have so far, but this example is for two sheets and the actual one has 15 sheets and the way i have done it with the if's the code is going to be weigh to long.....
View 14 Replies View RelatedI want to create a hyperlink to a sheet named "adsf"
I am currently in a worksheet named: "62b Arcus"
I want the hyperlink to be set by grabbing the name from another cell.
For example, In cell h7, I have the text: adsf
In cell g7, I want to place a formula such as: =HYPERLINK("adsf!")
Except, instead of this, I want: =HYPERLINK("h7!")
In this way, i want it to hyperlink to a sheet name based on the text that is in h7.
But neither of these formulas work. Both say the following: "Cannot Open the Specified File"
After reading up on this I have discovered that I must save the file and include the file name inside the formula.
My file name is: [Maintenance Color Codes of Houses - colour coded2.xlsm] =HYPERLINK("[Maintenance Color Codes of Houses - colour coded2.xlsm]adsf!A1","LINK")
This hyperlink actually works. Yet I have a problem. What if I rename the file. For this reason, I want it to grab the current file name using "filename". I have tried this by the following:
=MID(CELL("filename"),SEARCH("[",CELL("filename")),SUM(SEARCH("]",CELL("filename")),-SEARCH("[",CELL("filename")),1))
This grabs the current file name "Excluding the text outside of the [ and ]. I was able to create this formula myself.
How come I can't replace the part with [ and ] =HYPERLINK("[Maintenance Color Codes of Houses - colour coded2.xlsm]adsf!A1","LINK")
with:
=MID(CELL("filename"),SEARCH("[",CELL("filename")),SUM(SEARCH("]",CELL("filename")),-SEARCH("[",CELL("filename")),1))
These two formulas together would be:
=HYPERLINK("MID(CELL("filename"),SEARCH("[",CELL("filename")),SUM(SEARCH("]",CELL("filename")),-SEARCH("[",CELL("filename")),1))adsf!A1","LINK")
I also want to replace the "adsf" part with a cell number such as h7. So that it says h7!A1","LINK") or in full:
=HYPERLINK("MID(CELL("filename"),SEARCH("[",CELL("filename")),SUM(SEARCH("]",CELL("filename")),-SEARCH("[",CELL("filename")),1))h7!A1","LINK")
This doesn't work either
I know that I have probably created a ridiculous formula for what I am after. I'm almost there but not quite. You may know something far, far more simple.
I am looking for a code that would copy the data from each worksheet in a given workbook and then paste to just one worksheet within a different workbook. The Sheet names are auto generated when I run this canned report but the naming structure is always the same...the first worksheet is named Repair Details and then the next sheet is named Repair Details_1, the next sheet is named Repair Details_2 and so on for every sheet in workbook. So I would like to copy all of the data(Headers to last cell) and then paste in a worksheet(ex: Master Repair Report.xlsx and the worksheet could be titled Master Repair Details) on a different workbook, then the next sheet would copy from the one under the header to the last record and paste to the same workbook. This process would repeat for every worksheet in the Repair Details Workbook and paste to Master Repair Details worksheet in the Master Repair Report workbook.

I have been tasked with creating a macro which creates a new workbook wherein each sheet contains the information for one site from the active sheet. The active sheet already has the values sorted by the site such that all information needing to be copied from the active sheet into the new workbook is together.
I.E.
ATL
ATL
ATL
ATL
CEN
CEN
JCK
JCK
etc.
There are 8 different sites on the active sheet: ATL, CEN, DAL, HAR, JAS, JCK, VIS, NOV
The macro needs to find the range for all of the data of each site and copy/paste that data into a new workbook such that ATL would have its own sheet, CEN would have its own sheet, and so on. The data ranges from A:R.
So, for example, the macro would find that the last row with ATL in the "B" column is 6095 and would then copy A2:R6095 and insert that data into the new workbook under Sheet 1.
I had some code that I had adapted to select the range for each of them, but the code loops through the entire sheet (which is 44,307 rows long) for each site making it a quite clunky and very slow step in an even longer macro. Since the data is already sorted, I know there must be a way to have the macro stop searching when it reaches data not equal to the data the row before, however, my experience with VBA is limited, and I have been unable to find a solution. Also, the data does not have to be conserved after being sent to the new workbook, if that would speed up the macro.
I have a spreadsheet which has all the names of trips from a warehouse, the day that they operate (1,2,3 etc) and the job line allocated to each trip. It looks something like that:
A B C
DAYTRIPCUST
I would like to create a macro that will be creating 7 new workbooks and then in those workbooks as many sheets as the trips. In these sheets, the customers should be displayed.
How do I write it? I could not find how to have a "dynamic choice" in the macro. I.e. not to have the criteria as "1", "trips1" but to choose from the range of inputs that are available.
i have a sheet that was originally built by someone to convert sheets that you select in a userform to PDF, i have tried to adapt this to convert to word, but with my limited know how i'm losing this battle.

I am using this codes to extract csv in to my workbook, how to extract only the specific no. of rows from a csv instead of all the rows, I would like to extract only the last 5000 rows of data

Dim wksDest As Worksheet

I have the following macro that I use to convert numbers stored as text to text. View 5 Replies View RelatedI wrote a simple macro a few months ago and I got carried away and produced an .xla rather than a normal worksheet macro!
I dont need to use this macro as often anymore and another member of staff will be taking the process over so I was hoping to turn the .xla into a normal worksheet macro.
Unfortunately I am very confused by using xla's (at one point I had about 7 versions on my tools menu for some reason!!) and I cannot work out how you convert it!
I have a workbook that contains something like 50 worksheets and they all contain data with the same columns, for example column A is Project, column B is Project Name, etc. I need to convert data in each worksheet into an Excel Table. There has to be an easier way than manually converting each worksheet into a Table. However, when I group all of the sheets, the option to Insert a Table is not available even though the data starts in the same row and contains the same number of active columns in each worksheet. Is there an easier waty to insert a table in all of the worksheet simultaneously?
