Copy Range With Formula Unchanged

Oct 3, 2008

I've been searching internet for quite a long time without luck, hope somebody can shed some light here.

I have two workbooks, let's say A and B, I need to copy a range R1 in Sheet1 of workbook A to Sheet1 of workbook B. The code I use like this:

Renaming Worksheets While Leaving Some Unchanged

I have a workbook with 70 worksheets and I'd like to rename 65 of them while leaving the first 5 worksheets unchanged.

The following changes all worksheets. Is there anyway to modify so that the name on the first 5 worksheets remain unchanged.

Sub ChangeWorkSheetName()
Dim WS As Worksheet
i = 1
On Error Resume Next
For Each WS In Worksheets
WS.Name = "Cost" & i
i = i + 1
Next
End Sub

Track Changes Then Delete Unchanged Rows

Jul 10, 2008

I have a spreadsheet which is sent to one of my suppliers..they fill in there product information then send it back. When they need to add new products or make changes to existing ones they simply use the same file and re-send it. So I end up with two files, old and new. I need to flag up which cells have been changed in the new file compared with the old one.

At the moment I am copy and pasting the data from the new file into another spreadsheet which has =IF(B10='\HalusersSimon[Copy of Copy of Copy of Book1.xls]enter data'!$K$6,"","Change") in a empty column next to each column from the new file. This displays 'Change' in the cell next to the one I have pasted if it is different from the original file. Unfortunately I am still left with all of the rows where none of the data has changed, so I still have to sort through maybe 10000 rows....BORINGGGGG.

First of all the formula isnt perfect for the job...is there a macro which can do this instead...and secondly is there a macro to delete all rows within a certain area (so that I can keep the field headings and stuff) which dont contain the word 'Change' in them

Keep Sheet Names Unchanged After Saving Them As TXT Files

Mar 24, 2014

I want two sheets of my Excel workbook to be saved as txt file. The name of the file is compiled of a fixed part ("TrialList" or "BlockList") and two values from another sheet (subject and session number):

[Code] ........

Now, saving the text files with the desired file names works perfectly. However, Excel decides to change the names of the sheets that have been saved as text files accordingly. This is something I want to prevent from happening, since a second loop of actions will end because of the unexpected sheet names...

Preventing A Function Being Called If Argument Is Unchanged

Jun 27, 2006

I have a function in a cell triggered on the value returned by a DDE link in another cell.

e.g. cell A1 contains =function1(A2) and cell A2 contains
=ADVFN|NYSE_CAT!CUR

function1 is triggered each time the DDE link updates regardless of whether the result returned has changed or not. How do I prevent function1 being triggered if the returned value has not changed?

Copy Fill Formula With A Range

Feb 6, 2007

I have a formula that is averaging seven (one week) consecutive cells, I want to Copy/Fill the formula down the worksheet for the entire year. Is there a way to use the fill handle to drag down and make the formulas use the next seven colums?

I have removed the $ from the row numbers in the original formula, but when I use the fill handle it fills like this:

=average(B2:B8)
=average(B3:B9)

I would like it to fill like this:

=average(B2:B8)
=average(B9:B15)

Use Range Variable To Copy Formula

Jul 6, 2007

I have below code (option 1) I was hoping would do what I need except instead of copying formula from A1 it copies values... (option 2) copies formula but does not preserve references...any ideas how to copy exact formula so that references are not changed?
Assumptions:
A1 formula = SUM(B2:E2)
in A5 I would like to copy exact formula to keep references to row 2...

I agree I could use $ in original formula but that would complicate other requirements.

OPTION1:________________

Sub test_var_object()

Dim vRange1 As Range
Set vRange1 = Range("A1")

Range("A5") = vRange1

End Sub
OPTION2:________________

Sub test_var_object()

Dim vRange1 As Range
Set vRange1 = Range("A1")

vRange1.Copy
Range("A5").PasteSpecial

End Sub

Increment Formula Reference Relative To Copy To Range

May 26, 2008

In my data validation I have the following formula as the Source: =INDIRECT(SUBSTITUTE($F$2," ","_")). I want to be able to copy the cell and paste it into another cell and have the formula update to reference the new cell. Currently the validation is for cell G2 and references F2. I want to be able to copy G2 and paste it in G3-G6 having the formula update so it refrences F3-F6.

Copy Formula Across Based On User-defined Input Range

Apr 4, 2008

I have a cell B10 which contains a formula.

I would like a macro which copies this formula across the same row.

However, the macro should prompt the user to select a range.

Based on the range selected and in particular the columns in this selected range, I would like the macro to copy the formula only for the columns specified in the selected range.

(1) clear contents and formats of cells A1:A4 in sheet "InfoBB"
(2) copy cells A8:A11 of sheet "InfoAA" (which are formulas) and past it as text in cells A1:A4 of sheet "InfoBB".
(3) then automatically run a recorded macro named "BoldFirstName"

Cell Equals 0 Changes When Condition Met - Leave Unchanged When Condition False

Mar 24, 2014

I am trying to perform a calculation in a cell that leaves the value 0 if before Feb 2014, changes to the value of another cell in Feb 2014 and leaves the value unchanged if after Feb 2014. I can get to the Feb 2014 value but after that month the value changes to 0.

The Cell formula that I am trying to use is as follows:

=IF(YEAR($A$3)<2014,"0",(IF(YEAR($A$3)>2014,H114,(IF(MONTH($A$3)<>2,H114,AA118)))))

A3 contains TODAY()

H114 is the cell being calculated

AA118 is the cell containing the calculated value for the current month.

Dynamic Named Range :: Does Not Copy The Formula That References A Cell From Another Line

When adding new data to the range, excel extends the range correctly, but only copies some of the formula correctly. It does not copy the formula that references a cell from another line.

Formula To Copy Lines Depending On Date Range And Agent Selected

Jan 30, 2010

What I would like to do with the information that I have put together on a different workbook is to reference an Agent (column A), and a time range (Date is in column D) and then copy the row from A to I for each occurrence during that range of dates so we can see how many and what errors have occurred during any range of dates selected. (I will have different people inputting errors at different times so the dates will not be sorted unless they have to be). I want to be able to select different agents/date ranges to be able to get a glance of how that particular agent did during this time frame.

Here is an example of the work sheet where the data is originaly.

Here is an example (in a different workbook) of what the sheet should look like if I was searching errors for Albert Ozier between 1/25/2010 and 1/28/2010.

Copy Pairs From 2 Columns To Formula Reference Cells & Copy Updated Formula Results

Jun 24, 2008

I am currently working on a data analysis project (data mining) and need to collect and later analyze statistics for the inputs which control a series of calculations. These statistics are shown in the Statistics 1, Statistics 2 and Statistics 3 cells in the workbook that I attached. The inputs are X,Y; all possible values for these inputs are listed in the N,O columns. Basically I need a macro which would take the values from these two columns and place them pair after pair into the controlling cells (K3, L3), then it would copy cells H2 through L3 (updated stats) to a new sheet after each copy operation - so that I will finally have a list of statistics for all of the input pairs.

Select Range To Copy, Find Values And Copy

Feb 2, 2010

I have a base document that i can import another data document with a button (this is working).

I then have another WS ("search") in the base document with lots of identifiers which I want to use as my search range to look through the document that I just imported (column A).

I need a msg to ask the user what month they would like to find the $ value on (Ie, January) in the imported WS... this way it doesnt copy the entire line only cell in the selected month column.

Then I want to the user to be able to click a button that will check through the identifiers on the "search" WS and if the same identifier appears in the imported WS in column A, then for the $ value in the column selected to be copied to the search Range work sheet.

If the idenfifier is not matched then in place of the $ value copied can be the string "no in XXX WS" .

I have attached the document with dummy data in each work sheet with details more cleary what I have meantion above.

Copy Variable Range & Copy Formulas From Destination

Mar 2, 2008

I tried searching for code for each part of the task separately and trying to piece together multiple macros, that did something similar, but I’m not have a lot of luck, so I’ll break it down into two treads, I hope this will follow the rule of one question per post, but if I should have separated this request even farther as two treads, please let me know and I’ll be happy to comply.

I was given a spread sheet with a macro that loads data from a SQL Data base (not mine), it returns anywhere from one row to 100’s of rows data. Since it’s not my spread sheet and macro, I copied this sheet to my destination workbook. The Data loads in 7 columns starting in B4:H4, with the column headings titles: Acct#, Id#, Name, Qtr1 Totals, Qtr2 Totals, Qtr3 Totals, and Qtr4 Totals. Data cells in spreadsheet not formatted (general)

What I’m trying to do:
part 1:
I need a macro to copy the data only for columns Id# thru Qtr4 Totals (C5:H5 down thru the last row with data) to another sheet. The destination sheet range starts with rows B13:G13, with formulas below and to the right in columns H13, and J13:N13
(column I is blank).

The formulas below the range are a subtotal of the copied columns (D:G). They could be remove and totaled after they’re copied, so there's nothing below the copied range? Since I need the column totals as a subtotals, my thought was to have the row heading and formulas already on the destinations sheet and just insert a blank rows between as each row was copied?

part 2:
As each row of data is copied from the source sheet, I need the macro to copy the formulas to the right of the copied range (H13, and J13:N13) on the destination sheet down for each new row of data copied from the source sheet

Alter Existing Formula To Copy Specific Cells In Row Instead Of Copy Entire Column?

May 1, 2014

I need the macro to look at cells B9:B84 on the Sheet1 tab of the Cost Template. If it finds an x I need it to copy the 3 cells to the right of the x and paste them in a template. For example if it sees an x in cell B9 it would copy cells C9, D9 and E9, open the Purchase Order to the Detail tab, then paste it to cells B3, C3 and D3. It would continue looking for an x down to B84. So if it found 5 cells with x, it would give me 5 instances of the Purchase Order with 3 cells pasted into each.

I've attached my Cost Template and the Purchase Order it needs to copy to. In the Cost Template is a macro called Create_PO. This is what I was trying to alter to make this happen. I can't seem to get it right! FYI in case it matters, I had to change the Cost Template from .xltm to .xlsm in order to upload it on this site.

Find Matched Value In A Range For Named Cell Then Copy Range Cells Below

Aug 6, 2013

I need method, using a button, that looks at a cell--say EO2, for example--, looks back on a master worksheet at a specified row and range for a match, then looks at the information from a specified range below the matching cell (The information in this column will either be blank or have an "X" in the cell), and then those rows that do not have an "X" will be hidden in the corresponding rows in the working worksheet. Therefore, if at any time the value in "EO2" ever changes, then it will automatically find a new match and repopulate and hide information as before. About 130 columns will have its own button so that a "query" can be made that depends on the information in a particular cell in that column.

The master worksheet now has matrix of 287 rows and 58 columns. Each row is for an operating procedure and each column shows a job code. An "X" in a coordinate cell for a column/row shows whether that job code is responsible for knowing that operating procedure. So, on the working sheet, an employee's primary job code is given underneath his or her name. When the button is pushed, all the operating procedures not required for a given person will be hidden and only the required ones will remain visible--grouped, if you will. Qualification dates will be easier to see now that the information is consolidated. Whenever someone transfers to a new position, a new code will be inputed on the working sheet. When the button is pushed, a new grouping will result. Any operating instructions that overlap will still have qualification dates, so that information will not need to be transcribed.

Search Range In One Sheet - If Any Cell In Range Is Greater Then 0 Copy That Row

Sep 24, 2013

Basically I have three sheets. MAIN, Sheet 1 and Sheet 2

Sheet 1 and 2 are in the same format

A3 down is a list of country names and then B3:I71 contains the data im interested in.

I've been trying to create a function that looks at B3:i71 to see if any cell in that range contains a value greater then $0.00. If it does then the row that contains the cell with a value greater then $0.00 (between col A to K) should be copied to sheet MAIN from cells B3 down. This should ultimatley produce a list of data for any row containing a value greater then $0.00. This process should then be repeated on Sheet 2 and should join the list below sheet 1.

Copy Down Formula Macro Without Knowing How Many Rows To Copy Down

Feb 18, 2008

I have a macro that inserts a formula on the first row and then copies it down. The problem is the row count is variable but I know it won't exceed 5000 so I just copy it down 5000. For the blank rows I get the ugly #NAME, #VALUE, etc errors.

I know there are ways to supress those error messages, but how about a way so that the macro checks to see how many rows are populated so it doesn't copy down on the blank rows.

Copy/Paste Range To Different Size/Shape Range

Mar 3, 2008

I have the following code that let's the user choose and " import" data to an existing sheet. It works well up until now. The problem is that the three ranges that I am trying to copy the data from on workbook to another has changed size. In previous version of my workbooks the range was two columns by 10 rows. Now, it is 1 column by 10 rows. So, when I run this macro it doesn't work because the two ranges are different. Is there any way to:
1) Only copy over one of the rows of a range thus making the macro run?

2) Do not run that part of the macro if there is an error?

Thanks so much for reading this long-winded description but the error is a big problem

Loan Processing-Copy Range From 1 Sheet To Same Range On Another

Jun 22, 2008

I'm developing a loan processing system for members of a club. When an applicant asks for a loan, the club will calculate 10 % of that interest and the applicant will have to pay it back in 5 successive fortnightly instalments. If he asks for a loan in the first fortnight (1), for example, he will have to start paying instalments in fortnights 2,3,4,5,6 to pay it all back.

The system currently has 4 worksheets. The first sheet is a the loan application form. The cells outlined in thicker border, are the cells in which details must be input. Once it is input, the data will be automatically placed in the Processing worksheet using IF and VLookup functions (See spreadsheet attached), which is used as a basis for the loan schedule Worksheet. What I need is a macro that will copy the range filled in the Processing worksheet, and copy it to the exact same location in the Loan schedule worksheet (The cells with the same fortnight columns and the same member name. This is how the loans are to be filed.
