Counting Unique Values From Column Meeting Multiple Criteria?
Jun 26, 2014
I am working on an attendance spreadsheet in Excel 2003 at work that will display data showing number of learners allocated to an activity, number unallocated, number attended, number not attended, number of acceptable reasons and number of unacceptable reasons by Block Letter. My problem is that for a number of reasons the same learner number is allocated to a number of activities each day. I need to know how many learners from each block have been allocated, not how many allocations each learner has from each Block.
I have tried different formulas, but fast running out of time
I have attached a modified sample from the main spreadsheet
I need : Cell H4 to calculate the number of unique values from Column C on Mon tab but only meeting the following criteria Mon!$N$3:$N$4000="AM", Mon!$O$3:$O$4000=D4, Mon!$B$3:$B$4000="mon1" I can then apply to the other rows.

I am looking to count the unique amount of customers who are listed in column C based on the criteria that they purchased the product on the 1/08/2014 and that the product came from Department 3. The output I am looking for in this example would be 3. I can do it for this example but when I have 300 different customers it starts getting tricky and I'm a bit stumped on how to incorporate an array formula into a countifs() function or whether there is an alternative.
Date DepartmentCustomer
1/08/2014 3 A
1/08/2014 3 B
1/08/2014 2 C
1/08/2014 3 D
4/08/2014 3 A
5/08/2014 2 A
5/08/2014 3 D

I have a large sheet (several thousand rows and growing) - see a small cut of the data. The columns following on from this have a list of people's names, hence why a lot of the data repeats (as a number of people attended each program).
Program
Clinic Title
Start Date
[Code].....
formula that will automatically give me that answer?

I am trying to find a formula to count rows that meet multiple criteria, but one of the criteria can be multiple values. I have a list of people with a list of clients that they are responsible for. Each person is responsible for 10-20 clients. Every day I run a report that shows the project worksheets submitted for each client and if money has been awarded or not.
I'm wondering if there is a way to count, for each person, the number of project worksheets that show "awarded" in column K. That would mean that I would have to look for, for each person, any of their multiple clients in column B and "awarded" in column K.
I am trying to put the formula in D2:D9, as I use A2:D9 for a chart. O1:P79 contain the names of the people and the applicants that they are responsible for. A17:D158 contains the list of project worksheets (updated daily). I used =SUMPRODUCT(COUNTIF(B17:B999,P1:P14)) to count the actual number of project worksheets for each person, but I can't figure out a way to modify that to add in the "awarded" criteria also.

Is it possible to count unique values in one column based on that column and another column? I have a report that has a column of dates (B:B), column of month and year (C:C), and a column of RMA numbers(A:A). The RMA numbers repeat if there is more than one part on the RMA. I would like to count the number of RMA created each month. Below should be Jan = 2; Feb = 2; Mar = 1............
I have a CSE formula that allows me to count based on two criteria but it does not count unique values and you have to specify the two criteria.

I have a large file of invoices, and some have been paid. The problem is, sometimes it is not paid against the correct invoice, so I have a lot of credit and debit that should offset each other. I want to go through the sheet and highlight all the rows that has a matching ID and an a 0 value when total amount column was added up to another row. I would like it so that it highlights a different color for every pair of offsetting amount, but the same color highlight is fine too.

I need counting unique values with a number of given conditions. I need this to be a formula so that I can just add data to my spread sheet and it will automatically calculate.
The formula I have is:
SUM(IF(FREQUENCY(IF(A:A=Z1,IF(B:B=Z2,IF(C:C>Z3,IF(D:D<=Z4,G:G)))),G:G),1))
The goal is to count all of the unique value in column G:G that meet certain criteria (have ending times greater than Z3 and beginning times less than Z4, etc.). Once I get the formula to work, I'll simply drag it down to have it calculate for similar lightly changing criteria (like different beginning and ending intervals). However, the formula doesn't seem to be working. It's only giving me zero values (I have "ctrl-shift-entered").

How can I count the number of unique values in a column?
I have a spreadsheet that lists transactions that occurred over a one-year period (2007). I need to determine the number of days our facility was operational. No transactions on a particular date (25-Dec-07, for example) and the facility would be considered to have been closed on that date.
On the days that the facility was open, multiple transactions would have occurred on those open days and those multiple tranactions are all reflected in the worksheet.
So I need to count each occurrence of '01-Jan-07', '02-Jan-07', and so on.

I have 2 columns of data in one sheet that list dates (say Master Dates) and transactions (say Master Transactions).
In another sheet i would like a formula that can choose the correct transactions that fall between certain dates (call Date Beginning and Date End) and generate a list.
i have tried this array:
If((Master Dates>=Date Beginning)*(Master Dates<Date End),Master Transactions,"")
Problem with this is when used in different columns for different date ranges there are large gaps in the generated list...

I have a list, 50000 rows long with phone numbers and the service provider it belongs to. I want to extract some of this information. I'm looking for a formula which can give me the following: How many unique phone numbers is there in column B from service provider number 4 and 5? The following pic is just an example of how the list is compiled. How can I get sum up only the numbers from 4 and 5 and not the whole bunch? If I use this formula
Try this formula. Array formulas will have curly brackets {} emcompassing the ENTIRE formula. You do not add these, you Enter the formula with Ctrl+Shift+Enter and Excel will add them (details: Array formulas). Many more Excel Formulas
=SUM(N(FREQUENCY(D1:D51112,D1:D51112)>0)). I sum up all the unique phone numbers, but I don't know how to set a "if service provider is 4 or 5" if you get what I mean. This was the first part. The second part is finding out how many times each unique number from service provider 4 and 5 is listed.

I have saved this on a 2010 workbook as I am at home but this will be used on a 2003 workbook.
I have several projects on one spreadsheet which multiple users will be working and I am trying to create a summary sheet of the work carried out.
Each user is expected to carry out a task on each row of the data held in each worksheet (research, call, update etc) and each task (Option 1-5) is assigned a value. Each user is expected to meet a certain level of points per day to calculate productivity.
I am looking for a sumproduct along the lines of the summary sheet attached but mine just takes one sheet into consideration and I need one for all sheets.

=SUM(IF(FREQUENCY(MATCH($B$3:$B$22,$B$3:$B$22,0),MATCH($B$3:$B$22,$B$3:$B$22,0))>0,1))
What I am trying to figure out is how to populate cells N4:N5 and N8:N9 for unique locations by Fruit & Vegtables by Area A and Area B. I just have some basic data for this example as the spreadsheets are 30,000+ lines long.

In one sheet I'd like the user to select from 3 dropdown lists certain predefined values.
On the second sheet there is a long list of unique cells (one column, that can't be split into usefull columns with text to columns or something). I want to find the cell that holds the three text choices. These can be in different order to make things more complex. How do I create a search that finds that one match.
Example
The user selects "AAA" and "DDD" and "FFF" from the dropdown lists
The formula should find that one cell that holds this value: "FFF JJJ GGG DDD CCC AAA". This is the only cell that holds all three chosen values in one text. In the end I would need to have the row number of that cell,

I have a workbook where I am trying to COUNT the values greater than zero in column "J" based on a selective criteria of column "B".
In other words, if the date in a column "B" cell (B3:B78) is greater than the date in A86, I want to count the number of cells whose corresponding value in the "J" column is greater than "0". And then I want to take this selective COUNT and divide it by a COUNT of all the cells in the range "J3:J78".
So, what I am trying to do is:
FORMULA /COUNT(J3:J78)

I have a challenge I haven't quite been able to figure out:
I need a 6 digit trace code to be automatically generated for each job based on the date, the product type and the job number.
The first 2 digits on the trace-code are alphanumeric and the sequence for each job is AA, AB, AC etc.
The last 4 digits are a date code (YYWW.... two digits for the year and two digits for the week number).
The criteria is that multiple jobs of the same product type within the same work week must not have identical trace codes. So Job 1 gets "AA" plus the date code... Job 2 gets "AB" plus the date code, etc. If Job 3 is done in the next work week, it cycles back to "AA" and gets the new date-code.
Generating the date-code was simple enough, but coming up with a function or rule to assign the two-digit alpha has been a challenge that I have not been able to beat.
Below is an example of how the Trace-code column should work....note that Trace code on one product type might be identical to the trace code on another product type.
A
B
C
D
1
Date
Product type
Lot number
Trace code
[Code] .........

im trying to set my workbook up so that it is updating itself daily. Currently it has about 4000 rows of invoices from multiple departments. What I want is a formula that when an invoice reaches 31 days that it goes to a separate worksheet. I don't want it deleted, I just want it to be moved in to a worksheet called 'WatchList'.
Any body know how this can be done. What Ive done right now only puts the row in the same row from the main sheet. So if row 2000 reaches 31, it shows up on row 2000 in 'WatchList'. Im wondering how I can move row 2000 to the top and whatever other row to the top once it reaches 31.

4. In Column L, I want to specify 5 criterias namely London, Frankfurt, New York, Sydney and Tokyo
5. If Criterias in 3 and 4 are met, copy all rows into Sheet 2 of Target Worksheet

I cannot get my head around this loop, it has been a while since I did anything in VBA and am stuck. I have a list of trades on one sheet, would like to create a column that lists open trades as of that calendar day. Using Sheet(balance) column A as date range. What I am trying to do is test for condition if opening day is less than calendar day AND closing day is more than calendar day...then that trade is effectively open as of that calendar day...so would like to copy it with that calendar day in front of it.
Loop through sheet x and copy all that meet above criteria. Next calendar day, loop through all trades on sheet(x) again and copy etc...here is what I have so far, but I am afraid it is useless...
