View 3 RepliesI have an excel sheet that uses date formulas in order to provide data regarding the date that it brings up. My problem is that the formulas do not bring up dates unless the dates are on a weekday. Ex. I would like to look back 3 months in the past, and I do so using the formula =today()-90 (90 for 90 days, about 3 months). I would then like to input this date formula into another function (potentially an if function) so that if today-90 is a saturday or a sunday, the function will automatically bring up the date for the friday preceding it.

ex:
Name start_date end_date
AB 9/11/13 10:19 AM ??
CD 9/12/13 11:45 AM ??
All i need to find is,
If Name = AB, i want put start_date+3 days in the end_date column,
similarly for name = CD , start_date+7 days.
But the calculation should exculde weekends(sat and sun).
ex: For AB, start_date = 10/3/13 (3rd oct , thrusday), end_date should be start_date+3 ,so end_date = 10/6/13 but 6th october is sunday so the formula should give end_date as 10/7/13.
I have a date and need to formula to tell me the date of the Sunday that occurs before it.

how to make a certain type of date automate. It's kind of hard to explain, but basically, I'd like to make it so that when I enter a date in one column, another column will automatically populate with the 1st of the next month. For example:
If I enter 4/26/2009 in the 1st column, column 2 will read: 5/1/2009

Also, it's very important that if the FIRST date is already the first of the month, then the second column will read the same. For instance: If I enter 3/1/2009 in the first colum, the second column will ALSO read 3/1/2009.

I want to be able to show only the dates whose months are selected in the drop down in cell A1. I've been able to do this with a Macro that I must run every time I change A1; however, I was wondering if there was a way to have the macro done automatically. When a date is entered e.g 1/27/2007 The bill payment dates should all be automatically calculated under the “Date” column. Rules for the date
Rule1. e.g. 1 Month—the date should be 1 month after the date entered (as shown by the simple example 1/27/2007 one month is 2/27/2007 in the sheet)
Rule2 if the date entered is the last day of the month, the calculated date should also be the last day of the month provided it is a working day.
E.g 1/31/2007 one month is 2/28/2007. (provided 2/28 is working day)
2/28/2007 one month is 4/30/2007 (provided 4/30 is working day)
Rule3 If the calculated date based on rule1 and rule2 is a non-working day, the date is pushed back by 1 till it becomes a working day. e.g 1/27/2007 two month is 3/27/2007 if 3/27/2007 is Saturday it becomes 3/28/2007 which is a Sunday, another non-working day. So the output should be 3/29/2007
Rule4, under rule3, the date cannot be pushed to the next month. Instead, we push the date forward. In the previous example assume 3/29, 3/30 and 3/31 are all public holidays, by rule3, it will be finally pushed to 4/1. But this becomes another month. So we push forward instead to 3/26 which is Friday. The output is 3/26/2007

The code below works well also. However, I got 2 problems here. First, I manage to find the word " Sunday", then color the cell below that Sunday. However, I need Excel auto find out Sunday and color that particular columns for me, for example, Sunday found and color start from cell(L55) below that Sunday up to more cells(L59), Range("L55:L59").
Second, I only manage to find first Sunday, I wish the system keep find and keep color untill it found that rows blank, so I using this code.

I am trying to format a row (B) if B8 = Saturday or Sunday.
The value in B8 is derived from a formula.
I have tried the following but it only works if cell is typed manually.

In C13 I have the end date: 1/5/2009
In cell D13 I want a formula that counts the number of days between the two dates that are not Sunday. The start and end dates are included in the count.
I have created this formula using Ctrl + Shift + Enter:

I have also created this formula using Ctrl + Shift + Enter:

They both seem to work. I get a result of 31.
Is there a formula that is better than this, more efficient than this, or "less expensive"?
I have a start date in cell A1(5/15/2009) and a end date in cell B1(5/25/2009).
I would like to calculate the leadtime between the 2 dates in cell C1 excluding the Sundays in between.
I have out a formula(in cell c1) as B1-A1 but it is yielding 14 days whereas it should be12 days excluding Sundays.

Here, I have it done with a shape formatted with the transparent light red fill.
I work in a factory where we create different types of units daily. Below is a list of planned production on a specific date, say today's date. This is a very crude example, with information missing, and it is important to know that there are conditions attached such as:
The types are added randomly. The amount of types is much greater meaning that each type is on it's own page with breaks between. Everything produced on this date will have a URN (unique reference number) with its first 6 digits equating to yy-mm-dd and the last two being the position of the unit in the production sequence (first=01, second=02 etc).
I have gotten it to the point where if you enter them in sequence (Type A first for example) it will lookup to see the last assigned URN and taking the quantity into account issue the correct URNs.
The issues I have are when the URNs are less than "10", there is a problem displaying the 0 before the digit which disrupts the sequence. I can provide more clear examples if required.
