please see attached file- this is a sample of a bill of materails
if you double click on the word "unwound stator " that level of parts will appear you will see in column "b" some level number appear . and in column a the number 2 appears. this number 2 is just for the "unwound stator"
bill of materails
what i need to do is when i open a level one bill of materail just filter the ones with a level no within it ( i have some in yellow )
in this case the filter would start in line 21 and finish at 371
How can I FILTER a range and display the unique items, one below the other, WITHOUT blank cells - with only a FORMULA. What I came up with is shown in the attached WB. I would like to present the countries like in C11:C15.
I m trying to use an Autofilter to filter my cells with a Number Filter of is greater of equal to 4 and is less than or equal to 5.
But as you can see I would like to customise is using a range of 2 values which i have specified in Cell P1 and Q1.
I manage to figure out how to reference to this cell, but Im not sure how can i put my ">=" and "<=" operators into my code so i can get it to work exactly how i want as shown in Code 1.
I am using code to filter my 4 sheets Greater then 0 (zero)
After apply above filter now i need to copy multiple rows and paste on another specific workbook for paste i m using below code:
for 1st sheet with the name ("V2")
for 2nd sheet with the name("LV")
For 3rd sheet with the name ("F2")
and 4th sheet with the name("L2")
If I play above code one by one all is going very well,,,,,,or if use in this way all is going very well
But here is a big problem..........if any sheet have no value greater then 0(zero)....then code paste all data... e.g shssts("LV") .Range("C5:C54").Copy but C5:C54 have no data greater then 0(zero) and it will paste on another sheet c5:c54 and again new sheets data will paste below the c54 while c5:c54 have no data.
So I want if any sheet have no data with range is greater then 0(Zero) then skip the copy paste code or use like SpecialCells(xlCellTypeVisible) .
I am using the code below to coax Autofilter into letting me use three criteria. I can hard code the values in for two of the cells (B6 and C6 in this case) but for it to be of any use I need the array to use the actual values found in those two cells.
With Worksheets("Sheet2") Cells.Autofilter field:=1, Criteria1:=Sheets("Sheet1").Range("B1").Value Cells.Autofilter field:=6, Criteria1:=Array("2880", "2879"), Operator:=xlFilterValues, _ Operator:=xlOr, Criteria2:=Sheets("Sheet1").Range("D6").Value End With
How should this be setup to allow the array to read the two actual cell values?
I have two excel sheets with lots of data in, that i import from a database. Based on these two sheets I make four other sheets that are suppose to get input from this two sheet. To decide what lines I shall copy to the other sheets, I use a filter. But my problem is that there can occur new data too the two main sheet....
I have recorded the following macros but need to fine tune them. In Field 1, I would like to be able to have criteria 1 be “=>” the value in cell “D9” instead of “160”. Likewise criteria 2 needs to be “<=” the value in cell “D10” instead of “170”. Fields 2 and 3 refer to columns “E & F” so they would be respective cell values.
I have a search form that will filter the result based on the requested category. Is it possible to lock the cells once it has been filtered and then remove the lock after they close the workbook?
So the find method works on visible and hidden rows depending if you use LookIn:=xlValues or xlFormulas; however, it does not work on hidden rows caused by a filter.
I have a range that is filtered, and I want to find a value in a column that may or may not be the filter criteria (and thus hidden). I do not want to show all the data, do the find, then reapply all the filters again. I could loop through the column, but I am looking to see if Excel offers a more efficient way.
I'm trying to write a simple macro that I have filtering values of a column that "= 0" and trying to take the results from the filter and copying those rows into another spreadsheet.. i know there other ways to do this but im hoping if there is a way to do it like this because in reality im filtering a specific month and other criterias also which is gonna make for one long nested loop
I have a large array of data which I'm filtering out and copying to a new spreadsheet using an advanced filter. I have 2 filter criteria, one works... the other doesn't.
The second criteria is supposed to filter out rows that have blank cells in column C or D. I tried various things:
a. at first I tried following: Column header: Name |Surname Criteria: <>"" |<>""
b. since it didn't work I tried that Column header: Name |Surname Criteria: =<>""""" |=<>"""""
I also tried <>0 and <>null with absolutely no joy.
c. once I figured out that doesn't work either, I tried: Column header: (empty) Criteria: =OR(NOT(ISBLANK(C2)),NOT(ISBLANK(D2)))
now, the last one did have some effect, most of the empty-celled rows have been filtered out. However the filter persistently picks up ONE row that has blanks in column C2 and D2. I checked the data to check if the cell is really blank and it's as blank as it gets.
Obviously, I need help. It's been 3 days and I still can't figure out what's wrong with my filter. Is there a way of fool proofing the criteria, so that it will filter out all cells that are or appear to blank?
Is there any way to allow autofiltering and sorting even with locked cells within the range to be sorted? I've conditionally locked some cells based on user input, and at the end of my vb code I have allowsorting and allowfiltering. But I want to sort cells that are locked even after that. Does anyone know if that's even possible with VB?
There are two columns of data. Column A is "Group name" and is initially empty. Column B is a list of words
Here is what I am trying to do:
1) prompt the user for 3 input values 2) input value 1 and 2 are COMMON words that i wish to filter through in column B with "filter contains" value 1 or value 2 3) after the filter, i wish to select ALL VISIBLE cells in column A and append the Group Name to each cell
I'm trying to set up a a spreadsheet where a user can enter search terms to filter a list of data. I'm using Advanced Filter so I can use wildcards and operators (>, < etc) and copying the results to a "results" sheet.
My problem is that some of the data entries have multiple values associated with them and this makes the filters values act funny. I have come up with two ways of setting out the list so far but both have faults:
Option 1: Use Alt+Enter to separate multiple values ie: Description Asset # Site Product Type Speed Comments
[Code] ....
I can filter this table for machines with a speed of 1000 using the advanced filter parameters:
Description Asset # Site Product Type Speed
1000
*1000
1000*
The user gives an input of "1000" and the spreadsheet automatically adds the wildcard * on the two rows below so that the advanced filter looks for Speed = 1000 OR *1000 OR 1000* (this collects the speeds 15001000 and 1000800) I would get this as a result:
Description Asset # Site Product Type Speed Comments
[Code] ....
The Problem: I can't think of a way to use operators like > or
I have a spreadsheet that includes a column with location names and a column with location numbers. What I need to do is count the visible unique numbers and names (seperately) in a certain column when using a filter. I have found the formula to count the unique values and a formula to count the visible cells, but not a formula that does both.
I would like to filter between a date range. the dates i need to filter between are in cells A1 and A2. this range contains the start and end of month. It is referenced from another sheet in the same workbook (='Job List'!C2).
i want to filter; greater than or equal to A1 and less than or equal to A2. How I can do it using the advanced filter method. My data range is C2:C9.
I have a list of about 200 companies in column a. Columns B, C, D, E, etc. list revenues for 2005, 2006, 2007, etc. The problem is not all of the years have values. Is there a way to filter out the companies that have a blank cell for any of the years? For example, if company 1 has a blank in 2007 can I filter it out, even if all of the rest of the revenues are filled in?
I have data contained in 4 columns. Column A is name, Column B is ID, Column C is Company, Column D is amount. There are duplicate names in column A and duplicate ID's in column B (ID's have correspending Company Names in Column C). I want to have a list so that this combination shows up only once, and then the amount next to it will be the sum of all.
I have values in cell B2:B50 with values such as Quality, Eng, Purchasing etc. When i go in Auto filter based on Coulmn A2:A50 (with July only) and count "Quality" manually under B2:B50, the answer is 26. But if I write formula Countif(B2:B50, "Quality") I get answer 41.
Is there a way to use Countif function, if I am in the Autofilter mode so as it counts only that rows which are visible under Autofilter and not ALL rows.
I filtered my database in such a way that i end up with a list in which different companies are shown.
For example: Companies (column A) MER MER TYH INT MER TYH TYH
Now i want excel to count for me the number of different companies active (so in this example it would be 3, that is MER + TYH + INT). Does anyone know how to make this formula?
I have a table with a filter applied. I don't want all of the column headers to be filtered because the data in those column is not suitable filter criteria. Is there anyway I can remove the individual arrows on the right hand side of the cells in question?
