I want to keep in ColumnA all three rows of 100/12, because it has a value in Column B in one cell-which is the criteria, and remove the 250/13 because it has no value in cell B.
I was assuming that merging duplicates in column A, and than remove empty from ColumnB.

At present i have a conditional format on dupllicates, but is is a big task to scroll down through all the data looking for them.

Find If Duplicate Values Exist In A Column, Concatenate Cells And Then Delete
Dec 17, 2009I want to do, is search column A for claim numbers that match. When I do have a matching claim number, I want to concatenate the original cells ownership field with the said matching cells ownership field (or move into a column in the same row, I can always concatenate later). Once that is complete, I want to delete the row I took the information out of.
I want to join this data in ArcGIS, but as of right now, it's not a 1-to-1 relationship, so only a relate works. That doesn't help me as I want to display claims by ownership, and this can vary per claim. Company A may have 100% on one claim, and then split another claim 50% with Company B.
This causes a double entry on the claim field in this current spreadsheet I have, which requires me to clean it up by making multiple columns of ownership vs. an additional row for shared ownership.
My problem:

Finding Duplicate Entries In Column Considering Indirect Referencing
Jun 27, 2007I wonder if there is any easy way of findinig (numerical) duplicate entries in a column? Some cells are empty, in case this might cause a problem. I do not wish to delete duplicate rows automatically, just to find them. Why not just sort it? Because indirect referenceing is used where each row corresponds to a separate spreadsheet in the workbook. What I need is to find the duplicate so that I manually can erase one of the spreadsheets for the particular case and adjusting a reference list.

Nov 5, 2007What I have is a massive table of data (15k+ entries), which consists of 4 different tables merged together. I have a lot of duplicate entries. However, most of these entries have information in one or another columns that its duplicate does not.
What I need to do is:
Identify the duplicate entries (by part number, which is one of the columns).
Merge the duplicate entries. In the merging process, I need to carry information over, taking data that is currently in 2 or more rows and merging it into one row.
Here's an example:
column1 column2 column3 column4
row1 a . . d
row2 . b
row3 . . c
needs to turn into:
column1 column2 column3 column4
row1 a b c d
If I'm not explaining this well, I will do my best to clarify. My main question is, is there any way to automate this process (even partially)

Apr 4, 2009I love this forum, and am usually able to find the help I need without bothering anyone However this one has me stumped and I wonder if anyone can help. It feels like it should be a fairly simple solution, but they can often be the ones that are most eluding LOL!
I have two columns; in column A are incoming telephone numbers and in column B are the date and time the calls were made. (I've put a few hashes in column A just to maintain confidentiality of the numbers, but in reality the cell is formatted as text in order to maintain the leading zero, and entries will follow the format 01234567890)
A sample would look like this:

Some numbers only call in once, I need to identify them as only called once.
Some numbers call twice, if they do I need to be able to show time it took between call 1 and call 2.
Some numbers call more than twice. For each successive call I need to be able to show the time since the previous call.
In my mind, the results table would need to look something like this:

Find Duplicates In One Particular Column
Dec 4, 2008I'm trying to find duplicates in one particular column. I'm using this formula =if(countif($A$1:$A:$300,A1)=1,FALSE,COUNTIF($A1:A1,A1)=1) in the conditioning format tool but here's my problem:
I'm noticing that some of the cell values have spaces after the entries so the formula is not picking it up as a duplicate. Is there a quick way to remove those unwanted spaces after each entry?
Duplicates Finding Entries In Column A Which Match Any Of Column C Entries
May 7, 2014What I need to do is sort certain entries in longer list (column A, it is in .csv format and needs to be in it so coordinates and names and ID, all sorted with commas) and I have another list (column C) which is shorter list of certain IDs. I googled and tried and got some results for the basic structure but the fuction seems to fail. It doesn't matter how I get that third list done, but there is only one criteria: since the list in column A is really long and those entries need to keep the .csv formatting, the function should copy that info what is in the matching cells.
Let me try to put it simple: .csv cells from column A that have matching ID from column C should be copied to column B (or N).
the function I'm working with right now is
=IF(ISERROR(FIND($C:$C; A1))=TRUE;"0";A1)

Apr 25, 2008I have a unique id in column A on a sheet with 20,000 contacts. I need a VBA script to loop through the worksheet and when it sees that there is a duplicate in column A, it needs to take the data from columns B, C, and D of that duplcate and copy them to the first blank cell at the end of the original record. Then it needs to delete the row that contained the duplicate that it just copied. I have searched and found parts of code that will do some of these, but I can't get anything to work, I don't know VB enough.

Jan 29, 2014I am using a spreadsheet as a score sheet for a competition. One of the columns is the student's GPA. After entering all the scores there are duplicate final scores. I need a way to have it look at the final score and then use the GPA so that it will not put a duplicate value in the final column.
al Column N is the Total Column, Column O has the Names that correspond to the Total Column. Currently I am taking this total and putting it into Column Q (High Scores) in high to low order. Column R should have the names that match the scores. But with duplicate scores, it is only putting the first name associated with the score. I would like to use the GPA as a final determining factor for the duplicate scores. The higher GPA would come before a lower GPA. I have tried to put an additional column to bring the GPA over to correspond with the High Scores Column, but could not get it to work.There are actually more names for the competition and the top 10 will be moved to a different sheet and further judged. I have attached a sample with the exact formulas that I am using.

In my current macro, It displays most of what I am looking for, but not a duplicate ID if there is one. For example Screen, there are 2 IDs. My macro is only getting the first one and then skipping over the second ID. I would like it to where if there is a double or if it is there more than once that it gets all of the data.

May 31, 2012I have two columns with aproximately 80,000 rows each lets say column A and D.
Column A has numbers and it is the most recent data extracted from a program. Column D has also numeric records most of which are also in column A.
I need a macro that will take each number in column D and compare it to column A when the macro finds that the number in D exists in column A it shoudl move the number on the same row on column B (right next to it)
If the number does not exist on on columna a It should start a list on column C.

Feb 5, 2014I am currently working on a project where i am given a sheet that typically has several hundred rows of data and not seemingly organized in any manner. This document has 6 columns, and my main focus is a range of dates (in MMM-YYYY form) from around early 2000 to now that can have duplicates. The dates(Column C), have corresponding Usages (Column D), and Costs (Column F) and I need to add these values together and remove the duplicate months so I only have one Usage and one cost Per month.
My spreadsheet has 6 Columns of data, and varying number of rows. Currently, since I receive the numbers in an unorganized fashion, my macro organizes the data into a table and then sorts the table be date so I have the oldest dates first and the duplicates are adjacent. There may be varying numbers of duplicates, though typically 0 to 4.
Find Range And Delete Duplicate Value In Specified Column With VB Macro
Apr 21, 2009See attached doc "Find and Delete.xlsx". Inside, the value in F12 is a very important cell. Using the text value from F12, I first want to use visual basic code to find the range in column B because it will vary. This means the 'text words' column might have 50 words or it might have 2000. I have racked my brain trying to find a universal way to find a variable range.
Then I would like to search for the exact text value within this range in column
B. For example, in F12 is the text word 'windows xp registry cleaner' and you can see that this value is in B9. There will only be one exact match in column B.
I then would like the vb script to delete and remove this found value, then move left one space in column A to also delete the ID number associated with the text word. Then shift both rows up to fill the empty gap. I have tried numerous different codes but to be honest, I'm not really sure what I'm looking for. I've tinkered with find and replace, vlookup, match, find, search, and many more.
Name Range Of Worksheets And Find Duplicate Data In Column In Each Sheet
Jun 11, 2013I have made up 7 worksheets that are completely identical with exception of course to the data they contain. I have a master sheet that contains some of the data from each of the other sheets that will be shared between them. Things were working very well until I discovered that some data was duplicated on a couple of the sheets; and I am in need of adding more worksheets.
The formula I am using for this will not allow me to have more than the 7 worksheets. It is an IF statement array. So now I am wondering how will I be able to add these extra sheets. I would like to use my worksheet names in a range but have evidently done something wrong and could not get that to work before, ending up with this very long 'IF'. !Can worksheet names be used to create a named range?
Also, I would like to know if there is a way to prevent duplicate data on these sheets. I am using conditional formatting on each sheet now, but that of course only works on the current sheet.

I need to obtain the maximum (highest) value in the depth column and remove the other duplicates to filter out the low values. Oct 3, 2009I have a workbook that I want to find if I have any duplicate numbers in a specific area.
The area of cells that I am checking is C3 through AO70
I am checking for numbers between 95 and 800. These are all ID# of individuals and not all the numbers between 95 and 800 are used. IE: 97 through 100 are not used ect.
I have already written a macro that does something else and I can use it to check each number as it comes up. However, once the number comes up I don't know how to use it to check the area.
If I can check all the area at one time to find duplicates it would be easier.
I do not know how to do either way but I can adapt my macro to whatever way is possible.

I have a wks in which the first column is a list account #'s and the folowing columns are specifics of transactions or interactions.
Lets say it is a movie rental customer list that lists each rental, and column "A" is the customer number, column "B" declares if it was returned late.
I need to compile a list of "all" rentals by customers who have "EVER" had a "late return" or a "YES" in column "B".
I need to find all account records/rows of accounts that at any time had a "YES" in column "B" even if the some or many of that customers rentals/entries have "NO" in column "B"
