Fill ListBox With Found Values Sheet Names & Cell Addresses

Feb 22, 2008

I have a spreadsheet containing a list of key fob numbers, key numbers, etc. I have 3 userforms with different for different options, i.e. Key fob no. search, key number search, room number search. I have set up the code for each of the userforms to search for the information entered in the textbox and then lists the info in the listbox which I can then click on the one of the listed items to take me directly to the place in the spreadsheet.

However since there are a range of different key numbers per key fob, I would like to know what code I can use to allow a range of information such as the key number and room number, etc to be displayed in the same listbox as the Key fob number i searched for.

Here is my code for one of the Userforms:

Option Explicit

Sub Locate(Name As String, Data As Range)

Dim rngFind As Range
Dim strFirstFind As String

With Sheet1.UsedRange
Set rngFind = .Find(Name, LookIn:=xlValues, lookat:=xlPart)
If Not rngFind Is Nothing Then
strFirstFind = rngFind.Address
Do

I cannot attach a example of my form since the site seems to have a limit on the size of the upload and my part of the file compressed in zip format is still at 168kb.

Highlight Cells Found In List

Aug 28, 2007

I am working for a non profit humanitarian org and I am trying to modify an excel 2003 spreadsheet to change the formatting (color) in one cell based on the value of another cell. Obviously this is easy with conditional formatting, except that I have a list of around 25 unique values and formats.

Could anyone point me in the direction of some code that can do this? I am a relative novice to Excel when it comes to VBA and scripting things.

Drop Down List For Addresses

Apr 2, 2008

We create bids on a spreadsheet and these bids are faxed to up to 20 contractors. It is a pain to keep having to type in a contractors name and address, phone... and then print and then delete that info and type in another contractors name, address...on the same bid sheet. Is there a way for me to create a drop down list that shows the contractors with their name, address, phone/fax number so that all I would have to do is click on the dd list and pick who I want? I know the basics of creating a dropdown list but I have no idea how to create one with so much info.

Get Email Addresses From List Of Names

Aug 22, 2007

I have a list of 200 first and last names...column A is first name, column B is last name.

I want to find their e-mail addresses easily...

My company has a website that is a searchable directory. Each person has a profile which contains the person's e-mail address in its own table.

The directory is set up such that when you search for a persons name, you get the following URL:
www.website.com/searchabc123etc=john+doe

I am looking for an easy way to do 2 things:
1) combine the first and last name from separate columns into one single column such that it appears as john+doe (include the "+" sign)

2) take the "john+doe" cell value and paste it to the end of the URL

3) run a web query using the updated URL which imports 1 specific table from the person's profile, namely, their e-mail address.

I can successfully run a web query for 1 person manually. However, I am looking for a way to do this more efficiently for a list of 200 names.

List Of Email Addresses That Need To Concatenate Into One Cell

Jan 17, 2013

I've got a list of over 170 names in excel rows that I need to quickly turn into a copy and paste list that I can mass email some of my sales people.

Example:
Amyp@emailaddress.com
Treverp@emailaddress.com

I need to combine the names and separate by a semi colon: Amyp@emailaddress.com; Treverp@emailaddress.com

I started a concatenate formula, but because each name is on different row, it was a lot of manual formula tweaking.

Sending Email By Selecting From A List Of Addresses

Dec 2, 2008

I am attaching a workbook with the VBA code for sending email.

I found the code on this forum and changed a little bit to make it work for my application.
I am not sure if this is the most effective way, but it works.

The user would select from a list of names on sheet1 and click "send_mail" button. What I need done is to send sheet2 as an attachment.

The problem: The code is looking for address in cell "H7" on sheet2. I want to keep the address on sheet1, but send out sheet2.

If I copy the address from sheet1 to sheet2 in cell "H7", everything works fine. So I need soemone to help me change the code, so it will send out sheet2, but read address on sheet1.

Creating A Drop Down List For Names And Addresses ...

May 24, 2008

I'm writing a purchase order entry form for my company. I've used the above formulas to create drop down lists with addresses for each of our stores and vendors, but I need form to automatically select the correct "ship to:" location. Some stores will always have merchandise shipped to the store regardless of the vendor. Other stores will always have the product shipped to a warehouse location, but in a few stores the product will be shipped either to the store or a warehouse depending on the vendor.

I've been able to work out the formulas for the stores that have shipments always to one location by creating a second address table and linking the selected store to it.

Here is basically what I need:

Store A + Vendor A = Store A
Store A + Vendor B = Store A
Store B + Vendor A = Warehouse
Store B + Vendor B = Store B
Store C + Vendor A = Warehouse
Store C + Vendor B = Warehouse

Extract Email Addresses From Two Column List

Nov 18, 2012

I am trying to extract email addresses from a two column list. looks like the information may have been copied and pasted from a business card application of some sort. so first column contains name and a few other bits and pieces, the second column contains email address, phone numbers, status etc. unfortunately some records seem to be six lines, some seven.

I thought I might try using a pivot to create a list of the account names and then do a lookup/offset combination formula but i cannot seem to work into it the means to locate the "@" in the email address (to identify which line contains the email address). my end result will be two columns: name and email address. or maybe, since the name is already on the first line of each record, i could use some sort of formula to pull the email address up the first line of column c??

Its best illustrated by an example

Full Name Address Postcode
Mr C. Verougstraete 6 somone st, Leicester HY8 9YK
Mrs R. Brazier 8 high st HY9 9LK
Mr C. Verougstraete 6 somone st, HY8 9YK

The last record is obviously a duplicate of row 2 therefore will be removed.

Specify Non-Contiguous Cells With Variable Addresses

Nov 17, 2012

Excel VBA. I have a problem which is frustrating me almost beyond measure, but I am convinced that the answer is a simple one.

sub a() copies the values of 3 non-contiguous cells and pastes them as contiguous cells. This is simple as the cell addresses to be copied are absolute.

VB:
Sub a()
Dim x As Integer
x = 6
Range("A1,C1,E1").Copy
Cells(x, "H").PasteSpecial Paste:=xlPasteValues
End Sub

Sub b() copies a range of contiguous cells, including empty cells, and pastes them as contiguous cells, including empty cells. This is simple because I have specified a "range" of cells with variable addresses.

VB:
Sub b()
Dim x As Integer
Dim y As Long
x = 6
y = 1
Range("A" & y & ":E" & y).Copy
Cells(x, "H").PasteSpecial Paste:=xlPasteValues
End Sub

However, what I really want to do is copy 3 non-contiguous cells with variable addresses similar to sub b (ie. 'A' & y, 'C' & y, 'E' & y) and paste them as contiguous cells (without empty cells) as in sub a ().

What is the correct way to specify the cells to be copied?

Inserting Commas Into Cells With Mailing Addresses?

May 13, 2014

I receive a report that is generated by another program. One column contains the address, city, state, and zip (5 and 10 digit) with no coma separators. Macro that would add comas before the Zip, state, and city so that I can use the text to columns tool in excel.

here is an example of the column

7935 COUNCIL PL SUITE 200 MATTHEWS NC 28105
223 WRENWOOD LN CHARLOTTE NC 28211
1125 BIRCH ST APT A ROGERS CITY MI 49779-1406
PO BOX 1376 NEW YORK NY 10018
428 C ST APT 301 SAN DIEGO CA 92101
4682 MISSION BV SAN DIEGO CA 92109

I need it to look like this:

7935 COUNCIL PL SUITE 200 ,MATTHEWS ,NC ,28105
223 WRENWOOD LN ,CHARLOTTE ,NC ,28211
1125 BIRCH ST APT A ,ROGERS CITY ,MI ,49779-1406
PO BOX 1376 ,NEW YORK ,NY ,10018
428 C ST APT 301 ,SAN DIEGO ,CA ,92101
4682 MISSION BV ,SAN DIEGO ,CA ,92109

Then I can run the text to columns and it will split the text into 4 columns.

Sending To Multiple Email Addresses From Cells

I'm a primary school class representative and I want to create an excel contact list of the parents email addresses so that I can click a button, it will open the default email (in my case MS Outlook) and then populate the "To" email address field with the email addresses (separated by a comma).

Can anyone provide me the VB code that I can paste into my worksheet VBA that will look at a range of cells (say E2:E30) that contain email addresses, and put them in the "To" field of a blank email?

I have put a button on the page and it's called "EmailButton" but I don't know what VB to put with it. I'm using MSExcel 2007 (at home) and 2003 (at work)

Inserting Commas Into Cells With Mailing Addresses

Dec 1, 2008

I have spreadsheet that contains about 25,000 rows of client addresses. The columns/data is set up as follows for example

ColumnA...........ColumnB..................ColumnC
Jim Smith..........123 Apple Road.........New York NY 10022-3456
Tina Jone..........456 Apple Road.........San Diego CA 12345-1111
Bob Smith..........789 Peach Lane........Seattle WA 59802-3344
Tim Smith..........4255 Lime Lane.........Missoula MT 59802-3333

I am having an issue with the vendor whom needs to do a mailing of all 25,000 clients. They have indicated that they require comma delimited data to create the mailing. In order to do this, I need to place a comma after the city and a comma after the state.

So as in the first row of data the cells looks like this:

New York NY 10022-3456

The vendor needs it to look like this:

New York, NY, 10022-3456

Is there a function and/or VBA procedure to put commas in where I need them?

Join Email Addresses Meeting Condition In Corresponding Cells

Sep 3, 2008

I am currently working with a team of people who are on connected to different networks, and frequently coming on and off the project. We hold a spreadsheet with everyones details, and some of these details are the mailing lists each person should be subscribed to. For example "System Downtime","Team Leads" etc.
As people come and go, we dont want them recieving emails when they are not on the project.
Attached is a greatly cut down version of what we have. For most users the data will be locked down - we want them to be able to copy the mailing lists to their clipboard via a dashboard so they can then paste it into their Outlook.

Pseudo
On clicking "Copy to your clipboard"
Lookup mailing list selected in drop down (This dropdown validates on the MailingList range D2:I2)
Look for the corresponding column for that mailing list
Only look at rows where the individual is on the project ("Yes")
For each person with "Yes" in the column for that list, concatenate their email address
Copy the result to the users clipboard, ready for them to paste into the To: field in their browser

Macro To Delete Item If Not Found On A List

Jan 26, 2009

You can find attached the workbook I am working on.

In my workbook I have four sheets. Only two sheets are relevant in this case: "Sheet1" and "List". On "Sheet1" there in column A there is big range of codenumbers (highlighted with red).
On the "List" worksheet I have a smaller list (highlighted with green).

I have a code also in module1 but the code is not working.

I would like my macro to do the following. Check the code number from the "List" worksheet (green) and search for it in "Sheet1" column A (red). If this codnumber can be found in column A then leave the number on the green list. If it cannot be found in column A then, delete it from the green list. If you open the file, you can see on the "List" worksheet that there are three code numbers in the green range. The upper and the bottom code number can be found on the "Sheet1" column A (red) range, but the middle number cannot be found. So if the macro would work correctly then it would delete the middle number, and leave the other two untouched!

Cell Addresses Derived From Concatenated Values In Separate Cells

Apr 2, 2013

I need to return a value from a cell in Column H, but with a row number that varies with each entry.

I repeat this formula every 5 rows or so. But the cells referenced on another spreadsheet are only one row apart. Because of this discrepance, when I copy my highly developed cluster of formulas, they only reference every 5th entry on the other sheet. What I've been doing is manually altering long, complicated formulas by hand. I can't do a replace function because every once in awhile it'll find an extra instance of the digit I'm replacing and mess up parts of the formula I don't want changed. I could avoid this tedious, time-consuming work-around if I could make a formula that would do something like this:

=Display Value from in column H: (row number per cell B1)

And cell B1 would include the number 3789.

So the returned result is the value from cell H:3789

Check A Cell For List Of Data - If Found Then Print Row

Mar 29, 2014

I have a tab with different city names and then a a series of answers to a number of different questions, what I need to do is create a macro which looks a table on a different tab, and if column b matches any of the words in the table to then print that entire row of answers.

So if the information found in R1!M3:M21 is found in Results!B:B then print that row to sheet R1. If the information found in R2!M3:M22 is found in Results!B:B then print to sheet R2 etc.

This is the only other way I could describe it, however I don't think it can be done as a formula anyway (even though it is somewhat gibberish)

IF(ISNUMBER(SEARCH(R1!M3:M21,Results!B:B))print the row,move onto next row)
