I have two worksheets. Worksheet One and Worksheet Two. In Worksheet One Column A is a list of numbers. I want to look for all of those numbers in Worksheet 2 Column A. Any of the numbers in Worksheet One Column A that are not found in Workseeht 2 Column A I want to list in Worksheet One Column B. I do not want to compare cell to cell but if any number in the first column is found in any position in the second column.
I have a problem with finding the value in column B that is found within a range eg: <=1 & >=5 and return the corresponding values found in column A. kindly refer to the attached sample for reference.
I have long text values that include names in cells A1:A100.
In cell D1:D10, I have a list of names that I would like to check if any of them is found in each of the cells in A1:A100 and if yes, return TRUE in column B.
So in a way, what I need is a a bit like the SEARCH function, only that I need to find multiple FIND_TEXT values. If just one of the names in D1:D10 is found, the formula should return TRUE.
I have the following code with uses a cell color to count the number of cells in a range with the same cell color:
Function CountColor (rng As Range, color as Range) As Long Dim c as Range Application.Volatile For Each c In rng If c.Interior.ColorIndex=color.Interior.ColorIndex Then CountColor = CountColor +1 End If Next End Function
What I would like is instead of just counting and returning the number of cells of the same color, is for the code to return the sum of the values in the cells of the same colors. Cells being evaluated contain numbers from 1 to 300.
I'm trying to create a macro that can lookup values down a list, find that value within another list and copy the adjacent cells.
The values to look for will always be on the same column and the values to look into will always be in the same range or columns but not always in the same row.
For example.
AI:AI contains a list of ID's which will be manually input every day so they might have a different order.
C:AF has all the data to look into. C always being a list of ID values and I want for every ID found on AI:AI to be search for on C:C: and then once a match is found, I need specific adjancent cell values to be copied next to the ID found on AI.
The values that need to be returned are found on columns B,D,F,G,H,I,J,P,AF and they will always display on those columns.
I've been doing this based on vlookup and INDEX/MATCh formulas but I've come across some limitations for something I want to develop further so I'm trying to do this based on VBA.
I'd like to have a list printed of all the "qualifying people" found in a range, and then sort their corresponding price values from highest to lowest in Columns A and B. EXAMPLE:
I'd like to search column D for any values of 2 or higher. When it finds a 2 or higher, I want it to find the corresponding name in the SAME ROW in column E, and of course the corresponding price in the SAME ROW in column F. Then I would like only those qualifying people "with value of 2 or higher" to be listed in order from highest price to lowest price in Column A, and B.
I have a userform where I can select multiple items in a listbox and add them to another. I also have the ability to filter the first listbox to make finding items easier. The issue I am having concerns the clear filter button. As currently designed, the clear filter button will reset the initial listbox back to its default values. Ideally, I would like it to reset to the default values excluding those values that currently in the second listbox.
The entire code is below for reference, but it's the sub ClearFilter_Click that I am struggling with.
This is only a portion of the code, but the part that I am having problems with. It is within a for loop, hence the x. The Cells(x,14) is a list of cells, e.g. "u22", "u23, "u37", and I want to use those values as the input to the range object, but I keep getting object-defined error. It worked fine like this when I was using the names of checkboxes in Me.Controls().value . is there some property of the range object that doesn't allow this? As far as I can tell it should work; I'm grabbing the value, which is "u22", which is the type of data the range object needs.
i have 118 cells and they are changing every 10 second so, how to gather the max value from these cells and displaly them in Marquee box or in pop message?
I am trying to find a way to create a list of unique items from a named range. I have found a few solutions using filters for ranges that are contained in the one column but not named ranges that contain multiple rows and multiple columns.
Is there any way to copy all of the unique items from the named range to another location? Lets call the named range Table1 and it spans from B2 to J100.
I have two spreadsheets that use a Number as a Key. I need to compare the numbers on list 1 to the numbers on list 2 and add any values that exist on list 1 but not on list 2 to the end of list 2. List 1 is in Column B, List 2 in in column C of a different sheet in the same workbook.
I'm new to excel and was trying to make a workbook that will have a drop down list populate based on a user input in two separate cells. Basically, i have columns: name, pages, and books. I would like to have the drop down list match data by first finding the amount of books read, then finding the amount of pages read. Then any name that meets the criteria will be available in the drop down list. How can I do this?
I am working for a non profit humanitarian org and I am trying to modify an excel 2003 spreadsheet to change the formatting (color) in one cell based on the value of another cell. Obviously this is easy with conditional formatting, except that I have a list of around 25 unique values and formats.
Could anyone point me in the direction of some code that can do this? I am a relative novice to Excel when it comes to VBA and scripting things.
I have a list of email addresses in column A of a sheet1, and a list of "Do Not Send" email addresses in column A of sheet2. I'd like to have a macro that would delete any cells in column A sheet1 that were listed anywhere in column A of sheet2.
1. Write a sub that captures the existing lists in two arrays and then creates three new arrays of::
a. Customers who purchased only last year,
b. Customers who purchased only this year, and
c. Customers who purchased in both years.
2. After these new arrays have been filled, write their contents in columns D, E and F of the worksheet Auto Merged Post Until 24 Hrs Passes;I do not know how to do part C.
The sheet has a price list (I attached the sheet). its a width x height(drop) format. If width or height <= minimum width/height then use the minimum listed. if width or height > minimum <=maximum then lookup in table next heightest value. here is the complication. any oversized items are priced as roundup((size -biggest size) / (biggest - second biggest size),0) * ( price of biggest-price of second biggest). so if my widths are
You can find attached the workbook I am working on.
In my workbook I have four sheets. Only two sheets are relevant in this case: "Sheet1" and "List". On "Sheet1" there in column A there is big range of codenumbers (highlighted with red). On the "List" worksheet I have a smaller list (highlighted with green).
I have a code also in module1 but the code is not working.
I would like my macro to do the following. Check the code number from the "List" worksheet (green) and search for it in "Sheet1" column A (red). If this codnumber can be found in column A then leave the number on the green list. If it cannot be found in column A then, delete it from the green list. If you open the file, you can see on the "List" worksheet that there are three code numbers in the green range. The upper and the bottom code number can be found on the "Sheet1" column A (red) range, but the middle number cannot be found. So if the macro would work correctly then it would delete the middle number, and leave the other two untouched!
I have a tab with different city names and then a a series of answers to a number of different questions, what I need to do is create a macro which looks a table on a different tab, and if column b matches any of the words in the table to then print that entire row of answers.
So if the information found in R1!M3:M21 is found in Results!B:B then print that row to sheet R1. If the information found in R2!M3:M22 is found in Results!B:B then print to sheet R2 etc.
This is the only other way I could describe it, however I don't think it can be done as a formula anyway (even though it is somewhat gibberish)
IF(ISNUMBER(SEARCH(R1!M3:M21,Results!B:B))print the row,move onto next row)
I have a workbook with a sheet for every month. I have a searchbox searching for a client and jumping to that location. The problem I am having is that it takes me to the last occurence in the workbook if there is more that one client with the search criteria. Do you have any suggestions for a searchbox that whould take me to the first occurence and give me an option to go to the next occurence in the workbook. Please see the code below that I am using currently using.
Private Sub CommandButton1_Click() Dim ws As Worksheet
Dim cl As Range, rng As Range For Each ws In ActiveWorkbook.Worksheets
Set rng = ws.UsedRange With rng Set cl = .Find(Me.TextBox1.Value, LookIn:=xlValues)
I am trying to use a formula similar to VLOOKUP() to look in a table for two values and if both values are found, return another value.
Sheet2 is an example of my output file, sheet one is a generated file. i would like the vlookup formula in sheet 2 cell D2 and down to be something like this,
=VLOOKUP(A2,Sheet1!A:K,10)
But I would like to lookup A2 and B2, and the row that contains both values, return the value in the J column
I have two columns containing numbers and have done a vlookup to see if the values exist in each column. Now I need a formula to return the numbers that were NOT found using the vlookup function.
I need a VBA script that can display a search box on multiple sheets within the same workbook similar to using ctrl + F and search values in column B only. If there is text or the row happens to be empty then it should skip that and only search numbers. Also the numbers in column B range from 50000 to 89000 and if there is a wrong number entered then I want to have a pop up box saying Error: invalid value or something like that.
Sub search_box() Range("B49000").Select Cells.Find(What:="some#", After:=ActiveCell, LookIn:=xlValues, LookAt:= _ xlWhole, SearchOrder:=xlByColumns, SearchDirection:=xlNext, MatchCase:= _ False, SearchFormat:=False).Activate Cells.FindNext(After:=ActiveCell).Activate End Sub
My worksheet contains several codes that I then have to lookup in a different worksheet in a different workbook to obtain the relevant data associated with that code. At present I do this by activating the appropriate worksheet, Using Find to locate the appropriate field in that worksheet and then using activecell.offset to get the needed data. This is the only time that these worksheets ever need to be activated so I was wondering if there is a way to do this without having to actually activate the sheet. As an exapmle this is what I currently do:
' variables defined earlier in the program, Tempsheet = workbooks(FileNm & ".xls").worksheet("Temp")
Spark = Cells(TRow, 8).Value ' Activate the reference Sheet Workbooks("Waveguide Properties.xls").Worksheets("Spark Bends").Activate Cells.Find(What:=Spark).Activate COM = ActiveCell.Offset(0, 2).Value Edge = ActiveCell.Offset(0, 3).Value SparkArray(i, 1) = ActiveCell.Offset(0, 1).Value SparkArray(i, 5) = ActiveCell.Offset(0, 4).Value SparkArray(i, 6) = Spark ' Reactiave the workbook and worksheet I am working in TempSheet.Activate
I have an excel sheet with multiple columns. In one column I have X's and in another I have a limit. I need to look down the stuff column, find every X, match each X to its corresponding limit and then compare all the limits and return only the smallest limit found. I.e if I was looking down the stuff column I would find 4,6,8,8,3 and thus I would return 3 as my value. I am very new to working with excel formulas,
