I want to save phone no as +99 9876543210 in excel 2003 on my xp pro machine. But if i give a + sign in the cell, some blue dotted rectangle shows up and everything messes up.. I think it is treating it as a formula or something... how can i save this in the cell. tell me in detail if you are going to tell me about macros or vb code as I don't know how to insert code or program macros.
i want to know how to prefix a minus sign (-) before numbers in cells in a large range.i m working on a large sheet containing the Numbers with Cr and Dr as suffixes just like 445Dr ... 3331Cr and so..on... in the worksheet
i want to know the method of deleting the suffixes and prefixing - sign infront of numbers having Cr as the suffix.
Numbers with Dr as suffix denote positive numbers and numbers with Cr suffix denote negative numbers. i want to prefix the -minus sign in front of numbers having Cr in the end.
I'm trying to solve a strange problem in a piece of code.
I have a variable that is define as Double called STD. When i try to insert that variable in a formula the decimal sign (for me a comma "," because I'm Portuguese) gets converted to ";" (which is for me the separation sign for the expressions in excel formulas. ex: AND(A1>0;B1>0)=TRUE). The code is:
i have =TIME(LEFT(F17,FIND("h",F17)-1),RIGHT(F17,2),0). which gives a time in the format 9:30PM, or 10:30AM etc. How would i change the formula to give me a time minus 15 mins. Eg, if the above formula gave me 8:45PM, i would want it to show 8:30PM
I want to know how many emails are in my list. There is dash sign where the emal id is not available. The subtotal formula gives me the total entries in range but I want to know only email count numbers.
In my range there are 6 entries and only 4 email ids. Now I'm getting output 6 but I want it 4 ignoring 2 dash signs.
In Tab 1, I have a negative number and the word "Original" next to it. In Tab 2, I have a mix of positive & negative numbers. I want all numbers that are negative to display the word "original" and all positive to display" new." How do I do that? Also, I want the opposite to work as well-- if Tab 1 has a positive number, I want all positive numbers in Tab 2 to display "original."
If a person does a full day I want the formula to calculate how many hours minus 30 mins for lunch i.e. 7:30 - 4:00 = 8 hours. I have done this and it works fine, the problem comes when a person does a half day i.e. 7:30 - 11:30, this will read 4.5 hours. If this is the case I don't want the 30mins deducted so it should be 4.0 hours worked.
I have high lighted a column in the work sheet (yellow) whereby the user puts an 'x' in the appropriate cell if they are working a half day.
The probem is I cannot incorperate the two formulas in one cell (the Actual hours cell) I have the one formula in the actual hours cell and the other bolted on the end thus giving two different readings.
i have some text that is in a text document +1-17 0.5L the problem is when i import the file in to excel and set delimiters it will not show the " + " sign i have tried to set formating to text but it still drops it
I was wondering if anyone knows how I could enter a date in one cell, then another date in a second cell and in a third cell have it have it so it minuses the first date from the second and calculates the difference outputted in number of days.
I have used excel to create a set of timesheeets and a total page, on the total page there is a column that will show you any varience on your hours each month (I.e if you have worked overtime or under your hours)
I have used the formula =(worked+hours+sick)-(weekly hours*week in month)
This works fine the only problem is in shows a minus number until the hours for that month have been entered so I cant create a total column, is they any way to get these numbers to show 0 until the times are entered?
