I have one master worksheet with 1000 ID's. I also have 10 other spreadsheets with 1000 ID's. I need my macro to use the master worksheet and identify where the IDs are located among the 10 spreadsheets. If there is a match, then my macro should copy the entire row and place it in an output file (another spreadsheet).
The following code only tests the master worksheet and three other sheets (one being null/error is ID not found).
Sub Macro5()
'
' Macro5 Macro
Dim Raw, Mix1, Mix2, error As Excel.Worksheet
Set Raw = Sheets("RAW_DATA")
Set Mix1 = Sheets("Mix1")
Set Mix2 = Sheets("Mix2")
Set error = Sheets("error")
Raw.Select
For x = 1 To 1000
For y = 1 To 1000
If Raw.Cells(x, 1) = Mix1.Cells(y, 1) Then.................
I have attached a file showing what I would need the output to look like. I need to know how to search a range of cells (in this case column E) and if the day of the week is Wednesday to copy that entire row to the Worksheet titled Wednesday. I would do it manually but I have several thousand rows of data to get through, and there has to be a better way.
I found some useful code for copying specific worksheets into a new workbook based on the sheet name, which I have not been able to alter to suit my needs.
I have a workbook that has a Master Sheet that contains a summary of each claim (Name, type of claim, dates, dollar amounts, etc.) and a sheet for each specific claim.
I know I can use the filter feature on the master sheet to view all of the physical damage claims (and one column has a hyperlink to the worksheet for that specific claim). But every month I have to create a report that shows each type of claim, dates, and so on.
I would like to create a macro that can copy the worksheets to a new workbook based on the type of claim it is. I'm thinking something like for each ws in wb if range ("F15") = 1 & .range ("B4") < 30 days from today copy that sheet into a new wb.
Below is a generic and far smaller version of my workbook. The name column contains my hyperlinks to the specific sheet. Each sheet is also named based on the text in the name column (so John Doe's sheet would be named 'John Doe') and so forth.
I am trying to find a way to copy the contents of an entire row to a new sheet in a workbook based on the value of a column, specifically column K with the value of "good". There are 3 sheets that im searching. This is where I run into problems. Im looking to start with sheet1, and copy all rows deemed "good" into entries on sheet 4. Then search sheet2 and copy all relevant entries into the next available row on sheet4, and then repeat on sheet3.
I have some EXCEL files, titled as "AAA", "BBB", "CCC", so on... Calculated values are placed in Column Z for each file. In order for me to export the files to another software, I would need to create another new EXCEL file (I call it MASS) and place all the calculated values in that new file. In that new file, the titles have to be on Column A and the calculated values on Column B.
For example, File "AAA" has 120 calculated values. In MASS, the word "AAA" has to appear on Column A a number of 120 times and the 120 calculated values are then placed on Column B. Each value must correspond to the word "AAA". The same procedure goes for "BBB", in which the word "BBB" is placed on Column A after the end of "AAA". What I want to achieve is by using a macro that will look up the title of the Active Worksheet and then scan Column A in MASS. If the title matches whatever is in Column A, then the macro will paste the corresponding calculated values onto Column B automatically.
For example, for file "GGG", the macro will look up the word "GGG", scan through Column A in MASS for the start of the word "GGG" and paste the calculated values at the start of Column B. Could I have an idea of how might the macro looks like?
Im looking for a formula that will highlight the cell where i can copy it if that cell contains a certain text.
My text will contain "FAS CEH" and I want to be able to copy that row plus all the other rows it copy and move it to a new sheet. Ive read some forum but i cant find a formula that will highlight/copy the entire row.
I tried to writer my code myself but I have a long way to go. Here is what I must do for my case:
I want a macro to find the row that include a specific text (For example "SMSC") in a range (A1:A100) then copy this entire row below the cell which has the value "OTHERS". That is, if there are 10 pieces of "SMSC" so these rows including "SMSC" should be listed below the cell "OTHERS"
Monthly, I get a CVV of data with associated statistics. I'm generally only interested in rows with the first cell (A) containing specific words.
The cells (column A) are those such as below:
make a webpage free create web page free make a website with yellow pages how to create web page
So, if I wanted to take copy the rows where the cell contains the text 'create web page'. I want it to take 'create web page free' and 'how to create web page' and the cells in their respective row.
I would like these rows to be copied into a new sheet.
Sub Test() For Each Cell In Sheets(1).Range("J:J") If Cell.Value = "131125" Then
[Code]....
This works great except that it pastes formulas. I would like to paste values only. I've tried " PasteSpecial Paste:=xlPasteValues, Operation:=xlNone, SkipBlanks _ :=False, Transpose:=False" and it gives me an error.
I have a excel 2007 workbook that has 5 sheets "MASTER" , "RED" , "WHITE", "GOLD" & "BLUE". There are 7 columns in each sheet and the master has about 8,000 rows . In column D of each sheet there is a unique number (approx. 8 - 10 digits ) that I would like to at the press of a command button search through sheets "RED" "WHITE" "GOLD" & "BLUE" against the unique numbers in the "MASTER" sheet and if there any duplicates numbers delete the entire row but leave all the data in the master sheet.
I need my macros to search for the word "Cancel" or "Cancelled" in columns "T" and "U". Once found, I need the macros to make that entire row an opaque shading.
There will be other wording in these cells that contain "Cancel" or "Cancelled". Is it possible for the macros to search in the sentence and find the words "Cancel" or "Cancelled"
I thought I may of been able to get away with just using a simple macro which I could duplicate to copy all the cells in a column between 2 and 251 and
pasting them to another column on another sheet and it only referencing the available text within the first column, but it would appear to be referencing the
blank cells as well, which is creating errors for another function using this column.
So ideally I would like a macro to copy just the text data from a column within the range (F2:F251) on worksheet "Expansion". All the cells have formulas in them which create a unique text string from other cells on the same sheet.
Not all the cells within the column will be populated with text strings at the same time, but the rows of text will always start at "F2" and fill down without blank cells between the list of text strings.
The list of text strings will then be copied over to a different worksheet "AG-1" and pasted into column "A" starting at cell "A2".
This function is then repeated 14 more times for (G2:G251) through to (T2:T251) each pasted to different worksheets "AG-2" through to "AG-15" respectively, in column "A" starting at "A2".
The first column to be found in the process with a blank cell in the starting row of that column, would deem the process complete. Otherwise continue the
error in my code, its the final part of the jigsaw for me to complete my project.
I am trying to find a variable that the user types in my spreadsheet and delete columns from several worksheets. I'm really close but keep getting the above error.
Here is the code.
Sub DeleteEmp()
Dim RemoveEmp As String
''' CURRENTLY DOES NOT WORK FOR SOME UNKNOWN STUPID REASON
MsgBox "Warning. This process will result in the permanent removal of an employees datails"
FinalWarning = MsgBox("Should I continue?", vbYesNo Or vbDefaultButton2, "Confirmation")
Working with an existing macro from this forum. How do I create the array showing the number of sheets found? I know from a MsgBox that two sheets are found.
i have a workbook with several sheets in it. i would like to make a userform were i could put a number in a text box eg E045698.then use a command button to search all the worksheets for that number and display the sheet number where that number is in another textbox.
I need the macro to look at cells B9:B84 on the Sheet1 tab of the Cost Template. If it finds an x I need it to copy the 3 cells to the right of the x and paste them in a template. For example if it sees an x in cell B9 it would copy cells C9, D9 and E9, open the Purchase Order to the Detail tab, then paste it to cells B3, C3 and D3. It would continue looking for an x down to B84. So if it found 5 cells with x, it would give me 5 instances of the Purchase Order with 3 cells pasted into each.
I've attached my Cost Template and the Purchase Order it needs to copy to. In the Cost Template is a macro called Create_PO. This is what I was trying to alter to make this happen. I can't seem to get it right! FYI in case it matters, I had to change the Cost Template from .xltm to .xlsm in order to upload it on this site.
I am trying to find a way to print an "entire workbook", but have each of the sheets paged as a group separate from the rest. One workbook typically has up to 20 sheets, with each sheet up to roughly 8 pages. I need each sheet set to show page 1 of 8 or page 5 of 8, not page 22 of 53. Counting and typing in the total number of pages in each sheet's footer is too cumbersome. Also, printing each sheet individually has also been cumbersome when printing to PDF. Are there any other ways to have the "&[Pages]" function only reflect the number of pages within the sheet instead of in the entire workbook?
I have an excel file with a large number of sheets with data, each sheet representing one day of a year. Is it possible to merge the daily sheets so that the entire year's data is in one sheet?
I have a sheet with a data dump containing data on several railcars, taking up approximately 500 rows. Some railcars take up multiple rows, one row for each unique customer, and one railcar can have up to 5 customers' goods on it. What I need to do is get this information separated out onto monthly sheets, based on the departure date of the railcar. Every row of data in the dump has a column with the departure month I need in it, so that would make it seem easy. I have 12 sheets created one for each month, with the same headers as in the dump.
The two tricky parts:
1. The data in the dump is not sorted by railcar number, but the results in the monthly sheets need to be.
2. I don't believe LOOKUPS will work because rows in the dump repeat railcar numbers because of the multiple customers, and each of those rows has to be brought over to the monthly sheets, sorted and subtotaled by railcar number.
Finally, every week or so, I'm going to want to drop a new data dump in the dump sheet and need the monthly sheets to update dynamically. The new dump won't simply be rows added on to the same data as before, all the rows could be different. If this is solved most easily with a macro (i.e. drop the new data in the dump sheet, press a macro button and it populates the monthly sheets)
I found a macro that searches a column on each worksheet and copies the searched for value to another worksheet but. I would like to modify this to copy the searched for value and the next 10 cells in the row but I am not able to figure out how to accomplish this. I highlighted in red the piece I would like to modify.
For Each sh In ActiveWorkbook.Worksheets With sh.range("c10:c10000") 'this determines where to search
For I = LBound(MyArr) To UBound(MyArr) 'If you use LookIn:=xlValues it will also work with a 'formula cell that evaluates to "@" 'Note : I use xlPart in this example and not xlWhole Set Rng = .Find(What:=MyArr(I), _ After:=.Cells(.Cells.Count), _ LookIn:=xlValues, _ LookAt:=xlWhole, _ SearchOrder:=xlByRows, _ SearchDirection:=xlNext, _ MatchCase:=False) If Not Rng Is Nothing Then FirstAddress = Rng.Address Do
i'm suppose to create a code that searches a specific phrase/word in a row, then from that row, i want to mark the entire column, so that i can copy it and paste it in a new sheet
eg. find 'NE_KENNUNG', once it's found, mark the whole column "C"(the column may vary), copy the whole column, paste on to a new sheet
here's what i've written so far.. -------------------------------------------------------------
I am looking for a visual basic script (macro) wherin I can copy fields from one sheet based on condition to main sheet. Sample sheet is enclosed as sample.xls. Here is what I intend to do: two tabs are there in sheet. master and work.
Need to check in "work" tab sheet if x name exists and if yes then copy three cells namely Input, Direct/.Indirect and code and paste all three cells in master sheet in front of X name wherever x name appears in resource name column.... Ultimately work sheet will be searched for all names which are in Master Tab and three field will be filled accordingly. Finally all the resources in resource Column will have three addditional field in mster sheet taken from work sheet.
I have a sheets called " Records" that contains a table with columns E to to AE, rows begining at E5. Each column is it's own attribute and the table in question will have records added to it in the future, so the search would need to include the possibility. What I am trying to do is search only a small range of those attribute columns for a particular text but I want to display all the attributes of the records that meet the search criteria (I hope that makes sense!) So far I have the below code (found on this forum previously), but it searches all attributes columns rather than just the ones I want to search, and I am willing to try something else completely different!
Public Sub search_flights() Dim My_Result As Variant Dim first_Result As Variant Dim Flight_Number As Range 'clear search results Worksheets("Search").Rows("11:" & Rows.Count).ClearContents Set Flight_Number = Worksheets("Search").Range("C7") 'check data If Trim(Flight_Number.Value) = "" Then MsgBox "Please Enter a flight number in Cell C7" Exit Sub End If.....................
I currently have the below formula to search for text of interest (A1) within each cell of a column (B6:B30).
=IF(ISERROR(MATCH(A1,$B$6:$B$30,0)),"NO","YES")
The formula works perfectly if there is only a single value in the cells. But not so well when the cell has multiple values separated by a comma.
For example:
Column B
X Y Z T, X, Y, Z
It would return a "Yes" for X, Y, and Z because those are found individually. However, T will appear as a "No", because it is found within a cell that is separated by commas.
Im trying to create a formula that check to see if the value in H4 equal any value in the vlookup table m4:m48, if so, then Y, if not then N. the following does not work: =IF(ISNA(MATCH(H4,M$4:M$48)),"N","Y")
I have a spreadsheet (range A1:P5000). B2:B5000 would contain cheque numbers. Many of the cheque numbers would be repeated and would have common data in columns C, D, E, F, G, H, L and N.
I am trying to get VB code to copy and paste the common data when a user enters a cheque number.
For example:
When a user enters a cheque number in B3, VB would check B2 for a match. If a match is found, then VB would copy C2, D2, E2, F2, G2, H2, L2 and N2 and paste them in C3, D3, E3, F3, G3, H3, L3 and N3. If no match is found, then the user would have to manually enter the data in C3, D3, E3, F3, G3, H3, L3 and N3.
When a user enters a cheque number in B4, VB would check the B2:B3 for a match. If a match is found (in B2 – for example), then VB would copy C2, D2, E2, F2, G2, H2, L2 and N2 and paste them in C4, D4, E4, F4, G4, H4, L4 and N4. If no match is found, then the user would have to manually enter the data in C4, D4, E4, F4, G4, H4, L4 and N4.
When a user enters a cheque number in B100, VB would check the B2:B99 for a match. If a match is found (in B90 – for example), then VB would copy C90, D90, E90, F90, G90, H90, L90 and N90 and paste them in C100, D100, E100, F100, G100, H100, L100 and N100. If no match is found, then the user would have to manually enter the data in C100, D100, E100, F100, G100, H100, L100 and N100.
I have been trying to write VBA which basicly search for specific value in column A and copy values from that cell to down and two columns next. Select row and columns down after specific value in column A was find.
Like this A B C ... ... ...
X 100 115 ... ... ... up to last row
I try with VBA below but it do not works.
Sub Select_Rows_GK() Dim LR As Long, i As Long LR = Range("A" & Rows.Count).End(xlUp).Row For i = 1 To LR If Range("A" & i).Value = "9000" Then Range("A" & Rows.Count).Offset(0, 1).Select Do While Not IsEmpty(ActiveCell) ActiveCell.Offset(0, 1).Select Loop Exit For End If Next i End Sub
Here is the code that I have so far and it works almost the way I want it to. I need to copy over more than just that cell that is being coppied over I need to copy over certain columns in that row.
Private Sub ListBox1_Click() Dim wksData As Worksheet, wksPayment As Worksheet
'payment sheet Set wksPayment = Sheet11 Set wksData = Sheet26 Dim LR As Long LR = wksData.Cells(Rows.count, "A").End(xlUp).Row
Dim varField As Variant varField = wksPayment.OLEObjects("Listbox1").Object.Value Range("F6").Value = varField
