I am writing a database for a construction site to monitor all the goods that come in and what apartment Blocks they end up in.
I have three worksheets from different areas of the site. They are simply lists of items coming in and are getting longer everyday. They are all in the same format and have the same column headings. Two of which are date and Location. The location will be Block A to Block G. I want to merge the 3 worksheets into 1 and be organised by date order so that I can then duplicate that worksheet for each Block and filter using the Location Column. The 3worksheets have data manually inputted each day and I would like the merged worksheets to update automatically.
I have multiple worksheets with multiple varying columns with varying rows. My one constant is the product_id. I want to merge all worksheets into 1 worksheet based on the product_id's. Here is my example:...............
It has to consolidate all of the column names from all of the worksheets into the final worksheet, then take all of the rows and put the product_id in the product_id column and put the other data under the appropriate columns. Some columns will end up blank where they may be a column in worksheet 2 but not worksheet 1.
I have a workbook that has a lot of worksheets. I want to merge all the worksheet data, skipping blank rows from each worksheet and simply appended the data on one single worksheet. The goals is to just copy the data from worksheet b and append to worksheet a>copy data from worksheet c and append to worksheet a> etc. etc.
Basically I inherited a Excel Workbook which has 128 different tabs, unsurprising this is almost impossible to manage.
My requirement is to merge all of the 128 tabs into 1 tab 'Sheet1'. The macro should keep going even if there are blanks, it should move onto the next tab only when there are over 10 consecutive blanks in Column B.
I have tried searching the forum but nothing seems to cater for the specifics of this case. I would really appreciate some help. I mean really, i am in a mad panic thinking i will have to do 128 tabs manually otherwise.
how to copy data from two different tabs and then paste it into one? My below code opens up a workbook and extracts the appropriate data, but I also need it to extract data from another tab within the workbook that was opened.
Sub LTDexportDATA() Application.ScreenUpdating = False Application.DisplayAlerts = False
I have a spreadsheet containing a factory's operational data, with each machine in the factory being represented by its own worksheet.
The sheets all have the same structure, with each line of data representing a shift (we have 12-hour continental shifts, so column A of all the pages has the date in an standard format, and column B has either "d" or "n", representing the shift). Various datat is documented on each machine on a shift-per-shift basis.
What I need to do is figure out how to do a macro that extracts all of the lines on all of the machines' worksheets that pertain to a particular shift (for instance, all of the lines where column A read "14-Mar" and column B read "d"), and export the values of the entire row to another worksheet, creating a shift summary on one page.
To do this, I would like to make the date and shift user-definable variables that appear at the top of what would become the summary sheet, and have a button that activated such a macro at the top of the page as well.
I have a requirement where I need to summarize multiple work sheets. And each work sheet as different range. Column names are same in each sheet but number of rows in each are different. Like consider there are 3 sheets with employee details. Each sheet has Employee Name, Employee Number, Employee Location. But in first sheet as 10 employees and second sheet has 20 employees and third as 25. So the requirement is I need to summarize all employees.
i need a macro which copy and paste from multiple worksheets (except for 3 worksheets which is named after Jan, Feb and Mar) into one worksheets (named as OVERALL). The data to copy will cover from cell A1:D1 and below where there is data available.
I have been looking everywhere and I can't seem to find what I am looking for. I want to create a Macro that will go into a folder, search every Workbook (each with multiple Worksheets), and copy and paste the data onto a single Worksheet. The data that I want will begin in Row 3 of each Worksheet (the first two rows are titles and headers). The formatting will be the same for each sheet.
The only other part is that Column G has the following formula in each cell that I would like to keep if possible.
Attached is a master metrics deck, where data needs to be refreshed every week, from two different workbooks.
The catch is, the two parent workbooks would be new versions every week (data would be same format, and style within), but file name would change each week, for eg: for 1st workbook, 'XXX_Weekly_Week24.xlsx' to 'XXX_Weekly_Week25.xlsx' and so on.
for 2nd workbook, 'YYY_Weekly_Week24.xlsx' to 'YYY_Weekly_Week25.xlsx' and so on.
In the master metrics deck, a consolidated vew of some of data from workbook 1 and workbook 2 is presented for each week.
This master file would remain same, and only be refreshed each week (preferably with a button on its sheet "REFRESH!!")
Next, need to manually change cells C2:G2 each week to reflect week titles correctly.
For e.g.: week6 would show week 1 through week 5, but during week7, it needs to show week 2 to week 6. Only last five weeks of data any given time.
The first datarows of each set are conditionally formatted (they are compared with other rows in the set and need to reflect danger values, good values etc) (I have done that already).
I have this macro to go to a specific folder and open up all of the files in the folder and merge them into a worksheet.
I want to change it so the user can select the files to be merged.
Sub MergeFiles() Dim path As String, ThisWB As String, lngFilecounter As Long Dim wbDest As Workbook, shtDest As Worksheet, ws As Worksheet Dim Filename As String, Wkb As Workbook Dim CopyRng As Range, Dest As Range
I have three source workbooks that needed to be consolidated into a master workbook pasting the data with values & formatting.
The Master workbook also contains 6 additional worksheets that link to the data pulled in from the source files. My question is how do I write the code so the source files populate the master in a specific order. For example, the 3 source files are named "Central" "NED" and "WEST" and I need them to populate the master workbook in that order.
This is the code I am using to consolidate the data:
Option Explicit Sub ConsolidateSheetsFromWorkbooks() 'Author: Jennifer Starr 'Date: 7/12/2013 'Summary: Open all files in a folder and merge data (stacked) on all
I know how to merge data in a CSV (see attachment) from 2 columns into a single cell using =A1&" | "&B2 so that A1 (Safety Products) plus B1 (Fire Protection) becomes Safety Products | Fire Protection in cell C1, but how can I do this across multiple rows so that each pair of names is combined in each row? The job I'm working with is a product CSV file that has 6370 lines so I don't want to do them one line at a time!
I'm in the process of combining a lot of worksheets into one and found the code on the following site:
[url]
which almost does what I need. I understand how it works (i think!) but as a vba novice I can't work out how to adapt the code to copy more than one range from the source workbooks.
What I want to be able to do is copy say the following cells from each workbook:
A1
D1
d4:D7
I think what I need to do is call the getdata macro multiple times with different ranges, but I can't quite work out how to do that without simply creating multiple copies of the master file.
I have been using the following code to fill data down a col. For example if a1=blue and a5=green and a7=red. The macro will fill a1(blue) down to a4, then take a5(green) to a6, then a7(red) etc.
Sub Filldown() If ActiveCell.Text = "" Then MsgBox "please start with a non-empty cell" Exit Sub End If For Each x In Selection.Cells If x.Text = "" Then x.Value = x.Offset(-1, 0).Value End If Next x End Sub
code works great, but I was hoping it could be changed so that instead of filling the data down it would merge the data down. So, in the example, a1:a4 would be merged leaving the word blue, a5:a6 merged, and a7:etc would be merged. Is this possible?
i have multiple worksheets which has data (similar to sheet "Homewares") which need to be summarised in the summary sheet, i need macro that will grap all the info from all worksheets and pull data into sheet summary. The headings in data sheets will always be in Col A, i need to populate the summary sheet with this data please see below example
I am trying a macro to merge cell without losing the data until I find a next cell with the data - This merging should be pertain only for the column selected. Is it possible to write a macro and preform this activity.
I have data like Below Mentioned in column A and Column B.I Want to Merge and Center the Data in Column based on column A.
For example; I want to Combine the Cell i.e b2 and b3,B4 to B7,No Need to merge B8 Because A8 have a Same name But Differnet City. and so no.
I need a Macro.I have 6000 data in one sheet.I have 18 Sheets like this
DEALER NAME A M MOTORS MALLAPURAM8 A M MOTORS MALLAPURAM AALIANZ AUTOMOBILES NEW DELHI7.35 AALIANZ AUTOMOBILES NEW DELHI AALIANZ AUTOMOBILES NEW DELHI AALIANZ AUTOMOBILES NEW DELHI AALIANZ AUTOMOBILES Noida15 ABHARAN MOTORS UDUPI7.88 ABT MARUTI CHENNAI7.89 ABT MARUTI CHENNAI ABT MARUTI CHENNAI ABT MARUTI CHENNAI ABT MARUTI CHENNAI..................
I have attached a test workbook excel 2010 (ignore ref# errors, I've cut the workbook down for uploading purposes) What I would like to do is have a 'Button' on my 'information Sheet' which when clicked would clear certain cells. I have searched the forum but can't find a solution, everyone seems to want to delete rows or columns but I just want to clear certain cells. The workbook will have 11 sheets each named 'caravan 1' through to 'caravan 11' The uploaded test workbook only only has 3 sheets.
On 'caravan 1' (which is slightly different to the other 10) I want to clear the content of cells
On all other 'Caravan sheets' I want to clear the contents of cells
D4 & D5 E4, E5, E22, E23, E41 & E42
It would be icing on the cake if it could give a warning such as " are you sure you want to clear these cells" but that isn't really necessary. The worksheets will be password protected, but the cells mentioned above will not be. If it proves too difficult to clear all the cells on all the sheets with one click, then perhaps a simpler solution might be to have a button on each sheet instead
See attached the example worksheet. I am wondering if there is a way to write a macro that will change data from individual strings within a cell row to merged and centre data for that set of data. The issue is the data in the row will be varied i.e. sometimes there will be 20 x 2013 other times there may be 22 X 2013 etc. however, the data will always be fixed in the same row on the worksheet.
At the moment the best I have is a recorded macro, which really doesn't work too great and I end up fixing it constantly.
Is there any way that you can combine two worksheets or Excel files, for example: WORKSHEET_1 has columns and values as: firstname lastname city state
WORKSHEET_2 has coulms with NO values as: firstname lastname address city state phone
I want to take the info from WORKSHEET_1 and insert it into WORKSHEET_2 without specifying any columns since WORKSHEET_1 might sometimes have only 1 column and sometimes might have all 5 columns.
The purpose of this is to create a standardized Excel file that I need to import into a Database, however the users might have Excel files without all the columns required therefore I need to "standardize" the worksheet before being imported and have any black values import as NULL into the Database
I need a macro that would consolidate all data in multiple worksheets of multiple workbooks in one Master file.
All the workbooks will be in one particular folder. The macro should search for data in all the workbooks and consolidate it in one master excel workbook.
I am currently using both excel 2007 and excel 2010. This macro would really reduce manual work as currently consolidating data from 45 to 50 sheets takes an ample amount of time...
how to merge data from all worksheets into one new in the same workbook, see example in attach. There are 5 worksheets in the test workbook. Each worksheet has name of “Sheetx”,X=number of worksheet. Number of Row in each worksheet is uncertain, but it is always less than 35 (I will say it is “safe” range to prevent from missing data). Requirement: Vertically merge data from A1:F35 (including the “blank”) to “TEST”.
I am using Excel 2007 at office. By the way, I am NOT a excel expert, while posting your answer, could you please also explain how to do it step by step?
I am trying to merge several imported worksheets into one worksheet so that I can build reports. In other words, sheets 1-3 are imported from other workbooks, then sheet 1, sheet 2, and sheet 3 (with the same header rows) will roll into sheet 4 with reports built from the merged worksheet. I understand how to import, but I need to merge the worksheets. Is there a macro to make this possible?
We receive huge Excel files and we need to validate for and delete duplicate records before they are imported to a software product called Exceed Premier. We are having a difficult time with Excel spreadsheet duplicate record validation because we have to first export the files from the Exceed database into an Excel spread, merge the thousands of other new records from multiple Excel files, then import back into Exceed.
Is there a method in Excel/VBA that can merge several worksheets and check for and delete duplicate irecords? The records will be in the 20-50K range and growing.
