Merge Data From Many Many Tabs (worksheets) Into A New Sheet
Feb 26, 2008
Basically I inherited a Excel Workbook which has 128 different tabs, unsurprising this is almost impossible to manage.
My requirement is to merge all of the 128 tabs into 1 tab 'Sheet1'.
The macro should keep going even if there are blanks, it should move onto the next tab only when there are over 10 consecutive blanks in Column B.
I have tried searching the forum but nothing seems to cater for the specifics of this case. I would really appreciate some help. I mean really, i am in a mad panic thinking i will have to do 128 tabs manually otherwise.
I have a workbook that has a lot of worksheets. I want to merge all the worksheet data, skipping blank rows from each worksheet and simply appended the data on one single worksheet. The goals is to just copy the data from worksheet b and append to worksheet a>copy data from worksheet c and append to worksheet a> etc. etc.
I have several tabs, 100 or so, and would like to have cost per West, South region etc onto a summary sheet. The summary must separate these costs per individual company per tab/worksheet. I'm looking for a formula, a macro or both to execute this work for me. The tab list grows every time i.e. new ones are set up all the time so the formula has to take this into consideration.
how to merge data automatically in one sheet (master sheet) from specific sheet with different name sheet but same format?
Adding, deleting or editing should be automatic update to master sheet.
For example:
Sheet name:
Sheet 1: Salesman 1 - with data range A10:F310 (as his data file) Sheet 2: Salesman 2 - with data range A10:F310 (as his data file) Sheet 3: Salesman 3 - with data range A10:F310 (as his data file) Sheet 4: Salesman 4 - with data range A10:F310 (as his data file) Sheet 5: Salesman 5 - with data range A10:F310 (as his data file) Sheet 6: Salesman 6 - with data range A10:F310 (as his data file) Sheet 7: All Salesman - - with prepared data range A11:F2000 (as master data file/record for 6 salesman)
Column Name as a Header:
A10: Customer Number B10: Customer Name C10: Salesman ID D10: Promotion Type E10: Promo Item F10: Free Item
So I have two worksheets. One sheet has all of the names of attendees to a current event (column a, about 109 entries), and the other sheet has all of the names that have ever registered for my events along with their emails (column a and column b, 3000 entries). I need to merge data from column B of the second sheet to the corresponding name in the first worksheet, and disregard the extras (or just put them at the end so i can clear the contents). So I am just trying to get the email addresses of the people in the first sheet, from the data in the second sheet.
I've tried to look at the consolidate data function, but that does not match up the names to the email addresses correctly. What about a filter?
i had different sheets containing the same type of data in every sheet.what i want is to merge all data into one sheet.i had attached the sample sheet for reference.also let me know how to know the last cell in the data sheet
I would like to combine 2 tabs into one spreadsheet. I was not able to do so, because it exceeds the max rows allowed in excel. I have installed powerpivots but not sure how to combine data using powerpivots.
Firstly a confession - I've sinned - I got the code below while searchin the forum and in my excitement, I forgot to get the thread details - so I'm sorry!! So the credit for the code to a forum admin:
I have an excel file with a large number of sheets with data, each sheet representing one day of a year. Is it possible to merge the daily sheets so that the entire year's data is in one sheet?
Tabs 1, 2 and 3 have a column of data (Column A) on each sheet. They all start from the same cell. Each cell of data are just numbers. The column (an array) of data will not have blanks between.
But, they are not the same number of data. They vary.
Meaning, Tab 1 may have 15 numbers (A1 to A15), Tab 2 may have 20 numbers (A1 to A20) and Tab 3 could have 5 numbers (A1 to A5). Each iteration of the workbook may have different number of data in the A column on these tabs.
Now on Tab 4, I want combine the data from all three tabs into one column (in column A).
So, Tab 4 has a column A with data from Tab 1 copy and pasted to (A1 to A15) as values, then (A16 to A35) have Tab 2 data copy pasted as values and (A36 to A40) have Tab 3 data copy pasted as values.
Basically, the macro on Tab 4 has to count the number of rows on each Tab that are populated with data values and figure out to copy all the data on Column A from each three tabs and paste the data value into the Tab 4 in one column of data (in values).
Is there any way that you can combine two worksheets or Excel files, for example: WORKSHEET_1 has columns and values as: firstname lastname city state
WORKSHEET_2 has coulms with NO values as: firstname lastname address city state phone
I want to take the info from WORKSHEET_1 and insert it into WORKSHEET_2 without specifying any columns since WORKSHEET_1 might sometimes have only 1 column and sometimes might have all 5 columns.
The purpose of this is to create a standardized Excel file that I need to import into a Database, however the users might have Excel files without all the columns required therefore I need to "standardize" the worksheet before being imported and have any black values import as NULL into the Database
how to merge data from all worksheets into one new in the same workbook, see example in attach. There are 5 worksheets in the test workbook. Each worksheet has name of “Sheetx”,X=number of worksheet. Number of Row in each worksheet is uncertain, but it is always less than 35 (I will say it is “safe” range to prevent from missing data). Requirement: Vertically merge data from A1:F35 (including the “blank”) to “TEST”.
I am using Excel 2007 at office. By the way, I am NOT a excel expert, while posting your answer, could you please also explain how to do it step by step?
I am trying to merge several imported worksheets into one worksheet so that I can build reports. In other words, sheets 1-3 are imported from other workbooks, then sheet 1, sheet 2, and sheet 3 (with the same header rows) will roll into sheet 4 with reports built from the merged worksheet. I understand how to import, but I need to merge the worksheets. Is there a macro to make this possible?
We receive huge Excel files and we need to validate for and delete duplicate records before they are imported to a software product called Exceed Premier. We are having a difficult time with Excel spreadsheet duplicate record validation because we have to first export the files from the Exceed database into an Excel spread, merge the thousands of other new records from multiple Excel files, then import back into Exceed.
Is there a method in Excel/VBA that can merge several worksheets and check for and delete duplicate irecords? The records will be in the 20-50K range and growing.
I am writing a database for a construction site to monitor all the goods that come in and what apartment Blocks they end up in.
I have three worksheets from different areas of the site. They are simply lists of items coming in and are getting longer everyday. They are all in the same format and have the same column headings. Two of which are date and Location. The location will be Block A to Block G. I want to merge the 3 worksheets into 1 and be organised by date order so that I can then duplicate that worksheet for each Block and filter using the Location Column. The 3worksheets have data manually inputted each day and I would like the merged worksheets to update automatically.
I mean renaming tabs on the sheets, the tabs at the moment are called Output 1 (*****) instead of Sheet 1 etc.. and i would like that changed to contents in cell A9. If possible only the Output 1 will be removed and it will change to something similar "X-Ray (5E4TT)"
i have a workbook with worksheets named Output 1 (*****)
(the stars being a five digit/letter code - the only thing that changes on the workbook)
now the problem is, i pull of reports and sometimes worksheets can be up to one hundred.. now in cell a9 is the name of the report. I have found vba code to rename sheets to cell contents **extract below**
but any chance of renaming contents of cell a9 to a worksheet named Output 1 (*****) etc.. and if the contents of cell a9 can be trimmed so only certain part of a lengthy title
Sub RenameTabs()
For i = 1 To Sheets.Count If Worksheets(i).Range("A1").Value <> "" Then Sheets(i).Name = Worksheets(i).Range("A1").Value End If Next
I have a master spread sheet that contains many products which are then grouped into system. Typically, three or four products make up a system but it can be as few as 1 or as many as 6.
The master spread sheet contains all the products. But I would like to be able to create new worksheets where the new worksheet would only contain the tabs of the system.
All the tabs are named as follows: Product #, then system name: Here are examples: (all of the product names will contain the same amount of characters, but the system names will vary in the amount of characters necessary).
Thus, I would want the first 3 in a Worksheet, then Next two in a worksheet, and so on. A bonus would be if the worksheets were all saved with the System name, i.e. batter, breader, predust.
I am collecting data from 6 locations for the quarter and combining the information into a corp worksheet. Each quarter I need to copy information from 6 different files and paste it into the master file worksheet. The sheet I need to copy is named Substandard. The amount of information changes from each location (ie one may have 10 rows one 50 rows) so the number of the row to paste it into the master sheet changes. I would like a macro that opens the file Location1 copies the information from the substandard sheet opens the Master file pastes the information into the Substandard sheet closes the Location1 file, and repeats the process for all 6 locations. I would end up with all infomation in the Master file substandard sheet. I know how to manually record a macro to do this but the numer of the row to paste it into varies on the Master sheet depending on the amount of information from each location.
In my attached file, I've atttached a sample whereby in Sheet1 to Sheet3 I have data with the same format.
I want to copy all data with TD_SUB_ACNT_CODE = ETMY0100 into Sheet4. My actual data actually have more than 10 sheets and the sheet count can be more.
I have multiple worksheets with multiple varying columns with varying rows. My one constant is the product_id. I want to merge all worksheets into 1 worksheet based on the product_id's. Here is my example:...............
It has to consolidate all of the column names from all of the worksheets into the final worksheet, then take all of the rows and put the product_id in the product_id column and put the other data under the appropriate columns. Some columns will end up blank where they may be a column in worksheet 2 but not worksheet 1.
How do you get a quick report of all of the worksheets in a given file?
Is there functionality in Excel that would provide this? Or a simple macro?
I inherited a file w/ approx. 50 tabs and I'd like to print out the list of all the worksheets so I can create a checklist of tasks I need to do for each worksheet.
I have about 30 Excel files, each with multiple tabs. Each file has a tab called "Invoice." I would like to create one workbook with all 30 Invoice tabs. As of not I am manually copying and pasting, which takes a while. There has to be an easier way, and I found this VB script to combine entire workbooks.
Is there any way I can run this and get just that Invoice tab and not all tabs on all files?
Sub GetSheets() Path = "C:UsersdtDesktopdt kte" Filename = Dir(Path & "*.xls") Do While Filename <> "" Workbooks.Open Filename:=Path & Filename, ReadOnly:=True For Each Sheet In ActiveWorkbook.Sheets Sheet.Copy After:=ThisWorkbook.Sheets(1) Next Sheet Workbooks(Filename).Close Filename = Dir() Loop End Sub
