how do i achieve maximum full-screen mode in excel 2007....
i would like if only main menu tabs are visible (File|Insert|Page Layout...etc)...
Also is it possible to hide the numerics and alphabets numbers of Rows and Columns??
I have an excel workbook that I would like to
a) appear more app-like, and
b) show more data in the available space.
I do not want to go too elaborate by hiding (remembering and restoring) control bars and I reckon the View Full Screen is pretty much okay for my purposes.
I am currently invoking View Full Screen on Workbook_Activate but hitting the ESC key returns to normal view. I can already see my users hitting the ESC key for various reasons and ruining my master plan.
Is there are any way to prevent unintended ESC from Full-Screen or otherwise lock in the full-screen mode until revoked intentionally by macro (shortcut)?

I seem to be stuck in "Full Screen" mode. When I go to the View menu, both "Full Screen" and "Normal" are highlighted. I can't seem to get out of Full Screen.
I am using Excel 2003, XP SP3 installed. This just started this am. I did download and install Microsoft patches this am. ???
I am able to save and use Excel but without normal view my formating buttons etc. are not available.
I already have a couple of VBA commands on my sheet. so I've tried to add:

but this isnt making the sheet automatically go full screen.
I like a particular workbook to open in full screen mode.
How would I do that?
I have created a spreadsheet and wanted to originally see if I could save as a separate format (that makes it more like an application than an Excel spreadsheet). Having investigated, I found that full screen mode pretty much does what I want, however you can restore the menus by pressing ESC or selecting restore down. Is there a way of preventing users from exiting full screen mode, I could add a close application button for them to use instead.

A full screen crosshair for Excel would allow one to instantly and easily see which row and column the cursor is on without clicking a cell or following from the cursor to the row/column with your finger on the screen. My workbook operates in full screen mode simly to make it looks a bit nicer. I have some + - buttons that call a macro to change the scale of the axes of a chart (sort of a zoom effect). For some reason, whenever I run these macros my workbook exits out of full screen mode.
Here's an example of the zoom code:

I had a spreadsheet with 17 photos on, one in each cell. I had to resize so you can see them all on the screen. If you have some pictures that are resized to fit in cells, is there any way to double click (or hover?) them and make them actual size or full screen when you want to view them in detail?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am a happy user of Office 2007 and a casual coder. I am familiar with most of the basics of coding and enabling macos. However today, when I attempted to add some code to a workbook, I noticed that Excel would not actually enter design mode. Even though the design mode button will toggle and stay in the "on" mode, I cannot access VB property panel for any controls, even standard contols. Also, I am forced to CTRL-CLICK objects to select them and then am only presented with standard "Format Control" option, not object properties.
One other odd sympton... I can use the macro recorder to add code to a control (a checkbox for example), but when I try to manually add a line of code referencing that object (using the default name), the VB editor does not recognize the object. For example the IDE would not recognize and code a line for the "checked" property of a checkbox control when I check the box while in macro record mode.
These symptoms suggest to me that there is something wrong with the design mode "switch".
This all used to work fine, but it's been a while and many MS updates to my Windows 7/64 machine (now about 4 years old).
1. Is it possible to have two versions of excel installed on the same PC and would this cause any issues? This would be my preffered approach as it would enable me to do the haevy number crunching in 2007, but use 2000 for the everyday spreadsheets that I would have to share with my collegues.
2. Can you make 2007 default into compatability mode so that I wouldnt accidentaly create a spreadsheet that other couldn't use.
I would like the full path in the excel 2007 title bar automatically every time I open a excel file.
The macros I try from other sources all end up in errors. I need step by step instructions.
Excel 2007. Basically, I'll be working in excel and all of a sudden, my screen sort of blurs; gets scramble like below. This only happens when using Excel.

I am using Excel 2007. When I pulled up a workbook today with 3 sheets in it, all that comes up is the first sheet and the sheet tabs at the bottom of the screen are no longer there. I must have accidentlly pushed some button, but I can't get to the other sheets. I really need the information on the other sheets. How do I restore the view that shows the sheet numbers at the bottom?

Working in Excel 2007. I am using excel for a data log (basically) and want it to format all empty cells in a row yellow if there is data in column A
Basically, If i have a value in A2, I want any empty cell between B2-G2 to be filled in yellow (as an idicator to the inputter that the cell needs to be completed).
there is already conditional formatting on these cells, which i want to maintain for the non-empty cells. I also have "0" as a value, so I couldn't use the basic conditional formatting setting it =0, it highlighted cells with $0.00, which i do not want.
I was hoping that my formula would give me the count number based on the Maximum time (latest time) and the Name field...My result is a 0 instead of 62 (the correct answer).

Would a Index/Match/MAX function be more efficient?
Look in Column E and find the MAX value. Once you find the MAX value, (let's say E27) display the date that's in C27. I bet this is really easy but I've been screwing around with it for over a half hour and can't get the correct result.

The 'types' are not necessarily next to each other and the data cannot be sorted to do so.
Example:
type value
A 15
B 6
A 21
C 7
B 13
I need to be able to say the MAX for 'A' is 21, the MAX for 'B' is 13 and the MAX for 'C' is 7.
I'm just looking to prevent users from using the print screen or the alt print screen buttons on the keyboard. I have this script that works if I use "39" (Right Arrow)but wont work if I use "42" (Print Screen Button).
