Audible Alarm When Symbol Appears In Cell
Dec 3, 2006Cells in Columns A & B (57 rows deep) have a real time data feed and can have values of blank, "H", or "R". The H and R can remain in the cell for any length of time. I would like to have an audible ding go off whenever a new H or R appears in columns A or B. Is there a cell formula that can do this? I think a macro solution would not work, because the workbook has a macro that activates every 10 seconds, so I assume a macro solution would interfere if both macros happen to activate at the same time.

I'm looking to return the values in column A adjacent to the cells in Column B equal to "Y". The kicker has been returning only the cells where the condition is true. Column C displays the desired behavior.
The closest I've been able to get is with a simple IF statement but I'm pretty sure the answer is a far cry away from there and likely requires an array formula. I'd prefer not to use VLOOKUP or OFFSET but will if the alternative is very complex.
Subtract Days Between Due Date And Today Date If Condition 1 And Condition 2 Are True?
Feb 2, 2014I need cell (O4) to display days overdue or days remaining on an assigned task based on subtracting due date (M4) from todays date, but only perform days subtraction function if (M4) is not blank and only if task complete cell (N4) is less than 100.
Have the conditional blank cell figured out, but nesting another condition for the less than 100 complete cell. So in other words, I don't want cell (O4) to subtract days and display any error, irrelevant data if there is not any due date entered or the task is entered as complete...
Pop-Up Notification IF Condition Is True

SUMIF If More Than One Condition Is True
Mar 26, 2007I want to perform a SUMIF if more than 1 condition is true. I can do a regular SUMIF if, for example, values in column A is > than 10,000, then SUM associated values in column F.
However, what if I want a SUMIF if values in column A is > 10,000, values in column B = “Yankees”, then SUM associated values in column F.

VBA Check Condition Until True Before Moving On?
Jan 17, 2012Is it possible to have excel continually check if a columns used row count in a particular column is greater than a number before moving on to the next part of code?
The reason I'm doing this is because one formula will pull in data from bloomberg which can take some time (5 seconds or so).
Some other code that places formulas into other adjacent columns depends on the number of rows in the first column. So the code following the data pull wil fail if the above hasn't finished pulling yet.
I was thinking about doing something like a do nothing until true?
Here's what I have that is not working:

I expect that the number of used rows in column A should be greater than 5 once data is pulled. In this case I just had VBA select F1 until the count was greater than 5 before moving on. but I think it's interfering with the pull and will coninue to loop..
IF Condition True THEN AVERAGE The Values

Then give me the average of these two values. So it could be that it takes 0.5/2=0.25 for one value and 3 for another to give me the average of 1.625.
Combine Two Formulas And Add A Condition If True
Jul 23, 2007I have two formulas that I have worked out to deliver the results independently. I would like to join them together into one formula and add an If condition that if the two match then add a "+" to the end of the string.
#1 finds the base value :
=IF(ISERR(FIND("/",I2)),I2,LEFT(I2,FIND("/",I2,FIND("/",I2)-1)-1))
#2 verifies the value is a valid color:
=INDEX(M1:M41,MATCH(J2,M1:M41,0),1)
I would like to join the two formulas together and if they match then add a space, " " and a "+" to the end of the string. If there is no match then return the base value.

Playing 2 Sounds One After The Other

Essentially what i want to do is play one sound file, then immediately play another. I am using two subs so that can be achieved as when I was using one sub the first sound didn't play as it was immediately replaced by the second sound.
The lines of code where I call my sounds are:

I thought the addition of:
[Code] .....
Would allow the first sound to play, before then playing the second sound, however this doesn't seem to be the case and the second sound doesn't play at all.
Playing .Wav File
Jan 28, 2010i have a sheet where there are 2 columns of tick boxes for good/bad input. ive been able to borrow some code that saves the sheet at a date name and based on the fact that if there is one bad tick in the bad column i would like a wav file to play showing this. likewise if there are no bad ticks then a good wav file is played instead. here is my lame code that calls to modules with the actual wav play instrucions in them, named playsound1 and playsound2 :-

I intend to use the list in a combo box elsewhere in the workbook......it's all to stop inquisitive little users accidently changing data and whining that thier figures are misteriously wrong.....
Value Formats Not Playing Well Together In If Statement

It returns a value in numeric format (eg. .8493055555555556).
I then compare it to a time vale in one of my userform textboxes.

rental_end.value ="5:00 pm"
I have a suspicion that the tow different formats cannot provide accurate results in the If statement, and causing the result of the If statement to always be true, even when it should be false.
If this is indeed the case, how would one go about adjusting this code to provide proper comparison in the If statement?
Playing A Sound On Cell Value
Dec 20, 2008I have an automated sort descend happening all day. The top several cells are coloured green and if a cell jumps to the top from below the green cells, I would love a warning sound. Is is possible to activate a sound if a cell changes from a colour to a non colour. Preferably if any of the cells within a range of say F2: F6 changes from green to a non colour.
If it is not possible to have a change of colour to activate the macro, I could get around it by - if any cells in a range of H2:H5 >than 1 it plays a sound.
