Print Out Data That Is Variable In The Amount Of Rows To Print

Apr 15, 2009

I am trying to come up with a way to print out data that is variable in the amount of rows to print.

1. Cells C1 thru M6 is heading of report
2. Cells C7 thru M400 all have formulas and display information only when criteria in Column C in each row is met, if condition is not met it displays no informtion. (There lies my problem).

I need a way to print out only the area that information is displayed in and skip the areas that are not displayed. (Currently I have hard coded the print range using the largest report)

Scan The Rows And Find The Last Remaining Row

Aug 31, 2009

I can't figure out the specific way to write a Do Until where it exits once there is no more text in any further rows.

Basically scan the rows and find the last remaining row. If there is no data after 20 rows then exit the loop.

This is a sample.

B
C
D

F
G
H

I
J

I would want it to understand that there is no information after "J" and to exit the loop.

Print All Columns And Certain Rows?

Print Selected Columns And Rows

Apr 27, 2013

I have a worksheet which contain a lot of data in it. I want only certain rows and columns to be printed when I click a button. Actually I am trying to print a report.

Suppose I have data across A10:M100. Lets say from columns A to D are permanent, if the cell colour of any cell from E to M is not Red then that is to be printed along with the contents in A to D. Since I have bunch of data in that sheet almost 10000 rows I separated data by giving them name. If it is possible to have an option to choose from before printing that would be much much better. Because even though there are many cells left uncoloured I don't want them to be in the print as they are belong to another table (I have given name for each table)

If all columns from E to M in row 20 are Red then that row should not appear in the print. If J20 is left uncoloured then it has to be printed along with the data from A20 to D20 ( which I said permanent). This colour I fill by a macro as when required only for the range E to M.

Multiple Barcode Scanners: Prevent The Scan From Accepting Data Until The Macro Has Completed Its Cycle

Jan 26, 2007

I use a scanner that initiates a f2 command and trips my macro. I would like to use multiple scanners using a 8 port hub but I am having trouble with a scanner starting my macro and another scanner dumping data into my macro before the first one is finished. This is dropping scanned data into my macros. Is there a way to prevent the scan from accepting data until the macro has completed its cycle.

Print Rows With Formula But No Data Without Using VBA Or Macro?

Aug 14, 2014

I am trying to find a formula to set the print area to only print rows that contain actual data and ignore the formula.

The spreadsheet is going to be used by multiple users and locked from editing so I have formulas set in column H all the way to row 200 but no data is actually in column H until they enter a date in column B. Since there are formulas in column H when the user tries to print, it is printing all pages even if there is no data.

Here is my formula in H2:H200 =IF(B2="","",SUM(B+14))

Moving Data From Rows To Columns And Delete Repeated Rows

Apr 16, 2014

removing duplicate rows and move other data frm rows to columns.xlsx.

I am attaching a sample excel sheet showing what I need to do.In the first tab, I have a list that includes duplicate rows (first column only). I want to remove those duplicate rows but I don't want to lose the data in the following columns which can be unique or duplicates as well.

see the desired result tab in the sheet to get an idea of what I am looking for as the end result.

Keep in mind that the actual source file I am working with could have up to 50000 row, and the expected results could be around 2000 rows. So nothing can be done manually.

Move Rows Of Data From Several Columns But Not All Columns?

Dec 18, 2013

Column A is numbered 1 -100 successively Column B thru D contains data that goes with the assigned number in column A. I need to be able to move rows of data in column B through D to a different set of rows all at the same time (not one cell at a time) without disturbing the set numbers in column A. And with that, have all the other rows of data automatically adjust accordingly(not to be deleted or replaced).

Transpose Or Convert Rows Of Data Into Columns Of Data:

Feb 12, 2009

When I was using Excel 2000, there was an Excel add-in where I could highlight rows of information and then transpose these into columns of information. Since we have upgraded to Excel 2003, the same Excel add-in does not work and I have not been able to find a simple solution to transpose my information from a horizontal view to a vertical view or the reverse.

Or do I just have to move 53 columns (weeks) of 4 rows one cell at a time to 4 columns of 53 rows (weeks)?

Scan Through All Files And Subdirectories

Jan 5, 2009

I am trying to scan through all files within a directory and all subdirectories to find files where the name begins with certain characters. Below is code that will accomplish this for a certain directory, but I do not know how to look through the subdirectories within the specified directory. So, the issues are:

1. How do I loop through each subdirectory within a specified directory?

2. I am trying to return the file name, path name (separate from the file name), and modified date. I can return the name. I can return the path, but it includes the name. Is there a way to return just the path?

3. What is the code to return the modified date of the file?

Scan Through Multiple Files

Jun 23, 2009

I send out 300 or so spreadsheets. The spreadsheet contains lines of products that recipients have on hire. Column L allows to the user to put YES or NO on each line, to state whether it is correct or not. The user then sends this sheet back.

The difficult part for me is I have to open each spreadsheet, and deal with all the instances of NO in column L. It takes almost a day to go through every spreadsheet.

Is it at all possible to have some sort of macro, VBA sript or access front page, that allows me to search all instances of 'NO' in all the spreadsheets which are in 1 designated folder?

Hopefully I am making sense in what Im after.. ideally I'd need a button on a spreadsheet that I click to give me all rows that contain NO in column L.

All the file names will be constant each week. (so each file name will be 01 - Hire List.xls, 02-Hire List.xls, 03-Hire List.xls etc etc).

Is there a way to do this?

Data In Columns To Rows (not Transpose)

I have quite a couple of worksheets I need to apply this operation on, so manual work is the worst solution...

Getting Data From Columns To Rows Without Using Transpose

Mar 26, 2009

I have an excel spreadsheet which contains data for customers and the last date they were seen at an appointment (along with various other bits of info).

The way the data is exported from my database package means that each customer has one row per appointment, i.e. row 1 contains john smith, 01/01/2009, row 2 contains john smith, 03/03/2009, row 3 contains john smith 01/04/2009, row 4 contains joe bloggs 12/02/2009, row 5 contains joe bloggs 27/03/2009. Some customers may have 4 or 5 appointments listed whereas another customer may only have one. I need to get the appointments all onto one row per customer so that I can calculate the number of days between appointments. I have tried to use transpose, but with 8000 rows it takes forever.

Transposing Data From Rows To Columns

Jul 8, 2013

I have a piece of equipment that I use for temperature profiling temperature controlled chambers. The equipment has up to 16 channels for logging data, although we typically only use 9. The data output from the equipment is by Text file and we convert this to Excel for manipulation into a format that can be issued as a certificate.

The test file outputs the data mainly in a single column and similarly when it is converted to excel the data remains in a single column. To enable us to present the data in a format that is presentable as a certificate we most transpose the data from each channel from a single column into an individual columns for each channel. Because I have limited knowledge of Excel, this operation is very time consuming and I'm sure there must be a quicker way to perform this operation in Excel.

I have attached a copy of the text file and the resulting Excel file with the data in it's original format and also in the final format. This is only a snapshot of the data over 30 minutes and we normally carry out measurements over 24 hours.

Each entry doesn't nessesarily have the same number of rows.

I would class myself as a beginner VBA bod, but the solution to this one is illuding me a present.

Convert Data From Columns To Rows

Dec 2, 2009

I have a spreadsheet that consists of columns of data and I need to covert it into rows depending on how the data is set up. In column A, there is a list of invoice numbers. Columns B, C, & D are as follows:

Column B: Sales Rep Name
Column C: Sales Rep Number
Column D: Sales Rep % Split

I want to have a single row for each unique invoice number. As an example, I have the following:

Row 1: invoice ABCD-1234 Sales Rep 1: 55%
Row 2: invoice ABCD-1234 Sales Rep 2: 25%
Row 3: invoice ABCD-1234 Sales Rep 3: 20%

I want the output as follows:

Row1: invoice ABCD-1234 Sales Rep 1: 55% - Sales Rep 2: 25% - Sales Rep 3: 20%

I have attached a sample workbook with two sheets; one containing the raw data and the second, which shows the desired output.
