I have a column with numbers in about 500 rows. The entries are 5 numbers long and others 8. So I thought i could use one of the following: A macro code to tell a cell to delete the first 3 numbers if the entry is 8 numbers long?
OR
A macro code to tell a cell to reduce itself to 5 digits long starting from the right? Attached is a small example
I know you can take a number from one cell and combine it with number from another cell and make it one number. What I need to do is the reverse. Take a two digit number in a cell and separate it into single digits in two cells. If you have the number 50 in a cell, then is there a formula that will take the 5 and put it in cell and take the 0 and put it in the cell beside it?
I need a way to display all 8 digit numbers that have the digits 1-8 in them. (ie. 12345678 but NOT 12345679 OR 12345677) Also If I could somehow divide by 13 then check for whole numbers
given the number set how many times does the number 5 show up in the 4th digit. I know its 3 but for the data size I need to run it on, it is impossible to count.
What function would count how many times a certain number shows up in the same spot?
I have a large file with cells filled with text (converted from a database, imported into Excel). The text is in rows of column A and always contains a 16 digit number, which is what I need. I am able to clean up this text and show only this number, but then Excel shows the last digit as a '0'.
An example of the text I need to filter the 16-digit number from: GIRO 6838657 K MAHMODBETALINGSKENM. 7062542158461684 STORNOADMINISTRATIEVE REDEN 1 ZIE DE TOEGEZONDEN KENNISGEVINGVAN VERHAAL OF CJIC.NL/VZD
I've altered some of the information in here so this is fake. The text is messy but all I need is the number.
This is the macro I use to clean up the text and leave only the 16 digit number:
Sub CleanUp Dim e As Variant With CreateObject("VBScript.RegExp")
[Code].....
It sort of works, but when I run it, I get this number as a result: 7062542158461680 (last digit is changed into a zero).
I've been trying to insert this line into the macro but it doesn't work: Columns("A:A").NumberFormat = "@"
How do I change the outcome of this macro into the actual number?
If this is impossible to do, I can also manage if there is a way to filter only the last 9 digits from the 16 digit number. I can work with that, too.
I have 4 and 5 digit numbers. For the 4 digit numbers, I want to be able to distinguish between the numbers by the last digit. For the 5 digit numbers, I want to be able to distinguish between the numbers by the last two digits.
Example: For 4 digit numbers, I would like to do something with all numbers ending in 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8. For 5 digit numbers, I would like to do something with numbers ending in 10, 11, 12, 20, 21, etc.
The first step in being able to do this, I guess is distiguishing between 4 and 5 digit numbers, which I know can be done by the number lenght. However, the second part of looking at the last digit or the two last digits I don't know how to do.
The values in columns b:d range from 000-999. I need a formula that will count the number of digits in B:D that match the 3 values in H1 without counting a digit twice. The existing formula counts a digit twice, like the value in H4.
Need a T/F formula that will return T if any 2 of the 3 values from previous row are double digits and the third digit is also from previous row. The 3 digits in the same row must have a zero.

I have the following working great, but would like to see it refine a little, as the data vlookup is 6 digits, but i only needs the last 4 digits is enough for me to work, my question is how do i go about adding that to the following function i have implemented and working fine.
=IF(ISERROR(VLOOKUP(B4,' cmfs01home$peter[tracker data 4-25-14-a.xlsx]ControlSheet'!$B$2:$F$301,4,FALSE)),"",VLOOKUP(B4,' cmfs01home$peter[tracker data 4-25-14-a.xlsx]ControlSheet'!$B$2:$F$301,4,FALSE)
I'm trying to create a macro to help me with a running issues list. I what to be able to have an issues column and a fix coulumn. Then I'll have an open issues section and closed/fixed issues section. all issues that do not have any Information and date in the fix colum will stay in the open section unitl the fix is entered and then when I run my macro it will move any open issues that have data in the fixed column to the closed section)
I need to take every 4th data point from an array of several hundred (col A) and place the reduced array in a new column (col B). I initially tried approaching this in VBA and then tried excel, but to keep it simple i won't show the code that didn't work.
Col A Col B 5.001 5.001 5.002 5.802 5.001 5.951 5.003 5.802 5.805 5.801 5.804 6.951 6.950 6.952 6.951
I'm looking for a formula that may automatically convert date into single digit e.g today is Jan 03, 2012 & after adding (1+0+3+2+0+1+2) it will come out 9 ....
I have a problem where I extended a formula down to over 40,000 records which has increased the file size substantially. I only need it to scroll down to a few thousand rows now that I realized that there is alot less data to populate the worksheet. Is there any way to get it back to a scroll range that is more modest in size?
I am triying to write a formula adding two digit in the same cell and return the sum as a single digit as shown below. but not sure how to go about doing it. would appreciate any kind souls to help out.
C5 D5 E5 F5H5I5J5K529121958 D8 F8 H8 J8 2 3 1 4Let's say if 2+9 = 11, than I wan to break 11 into 1+1 = 2, how can I get it done?examplecell D8 is the sum of cell C5 and D5 which is 2+9 = 11. than 11 is further break down into 1+1 = 2cell F8 is the sum of cell E5 and F5 which is 1+2 = 3.Likewise for cell H8 is the sum of cell H5 and I5 which is 1+9 = 10. than 10 is further break down into 1+ 0 =1cell J8 is the sum of cell J5 and K5 which is 5+8 = 13, than 13 is futher break down into 1+ 3 = 4.
I have in my cell a number, namely, 5260007005020024100055040300004110000000
What I would like to do is extract a set of digits from it,
Starting from the second 2, and shown here in the dots. I need all of the numbers in a separate cell, "52600070050200 .24100055.. 040300004110000000"
Hope this is clear. bearing in mind the number will remain as one so I would need to start at 14 then using LEN or something I'm not sure, extract the following 8 into another cell.
123569LOC23 is in one cell and I am trying to copy the "LOC23" to a new cell. However, the amount of digits vary: LOC23, LOC1,LOC15 etc all the way down the column.
Refer to the "Example" file I have uploaded. Basically I want to turn table on the left to something similar to the table on the right by adding an additional column to put in card number related to the transaction in each row, so I have information of the transaction and its corresponding card number in the same row.
I have a checklist that I need to have do some different things.
I have two "sections" - not really sections but paragraphs so to speak. On each first line I have a checkbox. Now if the user checks "section" 1, I need the checkbox to change to NA for the "section" 2 first line.
My problem has to do with an list of over 22,000 addresses (don't want to think about going through it manually )
The names are in column A and the addresses are in column B. The problem is, is that some of the addresses fit in one cell and others are spread over two (Oklahoma City, OK in one cell, 73034 in the one below it, for example.)
The names with corresponding addresses taking up two squares have been placed in merged cells, so that they line up with their addresses. Here is a picture below.
Capture.PNG
What I need is each address in one cell next to its address in one cell (to make it searchable, etc.) I thought I was being really clever when I copied Column A, then pasted the formatting onto Column B (so that the cells would be 1:1, one name cell, one address cell) but didn't realize I would be losing the information in the cells being merged.
I am trying to create an easy to use document that allows users to click a button to add or subtract to another cell in my document. I have the basic functionality working, but am now working on making this more fool proof.
Basically what my macro does now is when user doubleclicks C1, 1 is added to B1. When user doubleclicks D1, 1 is subtracted from D1.
What I'd like to do is to protect C1 and D1 so that they can only be clicked to add or subtract, and not clicked as to edit the individual cell content (C1 and D1). B1 should still be unprotected so that the user can manually enter a number.
If possible I'd also like to change the below macro so it works with single clicks instead of double clicks, but this is not essential.
My document consists of several worksheets, and right now I am using the macro on each individual worksheet. If there is any way of modifying the macro so it works with the entire workbook instead of having a copy with each worksheet, that would be nice as well.
Code: Private Sub Worksheet_BeforeDoubleClick(ByVal _ Target As Range, Cancel As Boolean) If (Target.Row >= 1 And Target.Row
I have a column that contains 4 digit numbers that I want to convert to a text value. Here is my example
Number Text Value 7004 RBPA 7002 DCVA 7001 PVBA .....etc.
There is a total of 10 different number values. I want to include the conversion vba into an existing macro that is performing other functions on the spreadsheet.
