Excel VBA To Email Hyperlink From Textbox?
Aug 4, 2005I have an excel spreadsheet on a network, and I need to be able to email a link to the spreadsheet to everyone who needs to use it.
I have done the formula =cell("filename") to get the filepath, i have created a userform which initialises textbox1 to pick up the filename. I have written a macros to create an email, it puts in the subject and the body of the message. In the body of the message is the value of textbox1, but i cannot get it to format this filepath as a hyperlink.
Here's the code in it's entirity i have done:

Feb 17, 2007sometimes i'll have some text i want to show in a userform textbox. let's say the text happens to be in a sheet named story, and it is in A1 of the worksheet.
A1 says, for example:
" The next big thing can be found by clicking here "
if the note above were on a web page, all you'd have to do is click on 'here' and you are off the the next big thing. but so far, when i use this code to bring the text in story!A1 into the userform textbox all i get is the text. there is no 'clickability' as it were.
Me.textbox.Value = Range("story!A1").Value
is there some bit of code magic one can use to make a userform textbox function with html code?
Formatting TextBox And Check Which TextBox Is The Active TextBox In The Loop
May 18, 2006I am attempting to format some TextBoxes from within a For/Next loop. I need a way to check which TextBox is the active TextBox in the loop. Using i as the variable, I came up with this code snippet: Me.Controls("TB" & i).Text = Format("TB" & i, "mm/dd/yy")
If i = 3, this gives me in TextBox3 (which is called TB3) the text 'TB3' and not the value of what is in TB3. It has got to bo something simple, I just can't see it!!!
Hyperlink In Cell Have Email CODE But Hyperlink Is Not Clickable
Jul 2, 2009I have this code that looks through my worksheet once the conditions are met it will email, and in column "M" I put a hyperlink to where the document is stored. All works as far as the email format, even grabs the hyperlink but it’s not clickable in the email.

Oct 17, 2006I am having a slight problem copying hyperlinks. I have written some code that sorts data by date and then creates a simple diary. It originally placed the name of the event in the new diary sheet. What I would like to do is instead of copying the name into this new sheet copy a hyperlink that I have created to the company's website for that event.
I can create the hyperlink using hyperlink(B1,A1) where A1 is the company name and B1 is the web address but since the new sheet will not have the underlying data I need to actually copy the values and format of the hyperlink rather than the formula.

Feb 2, 2010I need a userform textbox event that fires after I tab or click out of the textbox. Going by the list of options:Beforedragover, BeforeDroporPaste, Change, DblClick, DropButtonClick, Error, Keydown, Keypress, keyup, mousedown, mousemove, mouseup.
I can't figure out which one will do what I want. The change event happens instantaneously which doesn't work. I need to fire off the event when my focus leaves the textbox.

Here is my code, it does a vlookup and if the persons name is not found it will split the text entered into forename and surname but when i try and add

It actually displays &ForeName & in the text box of the next from rather than what ForeName is..
eg. John Smith -> search button -> user not found msg -> user wants to add user -> string is split into forename and surname -> forename = John , surname = Smith -> display this in the second form.
What code should i be using to do this, i thought that &ForeName & would work.

Adding Comments To Textbox And Having Textbox Keep Updating
Apr 3, 2014I have a form that has three fields (1. Comments (TEXT), 2. Legacy_Comments (TEXT), 3, Comment date (DATE))
Now my users need to keep adding comments to the comment text box, and when they do it automatically adds the date they entered the comment in the Comment date box. Now my problem is that since they keep adding comments to the comment box, I need to keep track of these comments in the Legacy_Comments (Text box).
For example, the First time a user enters a comment into the (1) comment text box it auto populates the date in the comment date box, and then adds the comment and date to the Legacy_Comment box. the end result is (comment,4/3/2014 now lets say a user needs to add a comment to the comments box tomorrow - I want the legacy_Comment box to then read (comment, 4/3/2014; comment2, 4/4/2014, ...., comment(n),date(n)) OR it can be vice-verse, because I just need to keep track of the comments, I am not worried if the new comments are before or after older (yesterdays / the day before yesterdays comments)
How can I write a VBA code that will always add the new comment to the legacy_comment field, without deleting the comments that were entered previously?

It adds the comment only the first time, but it does not concatenate the string from yesterday to the string to today. I do not care which order the comments are, meaning if I added a comment today it can be before OR after the comment from yesterday.

What I'm trying to do is to use the same form for 10 different levels (floors) of a building. Then on page 2, I'll itemize the values for each floor. So the combobox determines which floor the calculations are for; txtOccupantLoad is the total of all incremental occupant loads on that floor; and txtOccLoad_L1 is the first of a series of textboxes on page 2 where the value for Level 1 should go. If the combo box shows "Level 2" then I'll write new code for the txtOccLoad_L2, and so on. I've also tried including "page1." and "page2." after "me."

Feb 13, 2008I am trying to create a user form that has a series of text boxes that will all have a VLOOKUP function in them based off of input from a the first text box. If I can just get the code for the first one, I think I can figure out the rest. We will say that the file that the user form is contained in is 'Agent Administration' and the file that I want the VLOOKUP to pull from is called ' Roster for Auto Population'.

In Userform1 I have a button from which I can open Userform2 keeping the Userform1 opened. When closing Userform2 I want to copy the data from TextBox2 in Userform2 to TextBox1 in Userform1.

Feb 4, 2010I am trying to do is have a hyperlink go to another sheet after searching the second sheet for the same value. I have a sheet labeled "IQI" which has the total number of cases for a certain condition. I have another sheet labeled "IQI Cases" which lists out each case individually.
I want to be able to click on the Condidion in the IQI sheet and have that take me to that specific spot in the IQI Cases sheet where the cases for that condition begin.
Right now I just have a simple hyperlink to a range of cells. But each month a report is generated and the range will be different and I have to go and change the range each time. So I guess I want a hyperlink and a lookup function combination.
I dont know if this would be a Macro or a formula.

Jan 10, 2005I am trying to use hyperlinks to navigate documents. I created a html document with excel and used hyperlinks to PDF documents.
At first the hyperlinks worked fine, opening the PDF software and in turn the PDF document.
Now when i click the hyperlink in Internet Explorer for the PDF document to open, it brings me to a blank HTML document.
In other words, the hyperlinks to the PDF's no longer open the PDF software and document.

Jul 24, 2014I'm having a problem getting a hyperlink to work when adding it to a vlookup. The vlookup is looking at a page number and returning the named drawing from an Auto Desk Inventor File. I'm trying to get the returned drawing name to become a hyperlink to open the drawing. I would rather have this added to the formula so if a page number ever changes the hyperlink will change to the correct drawing also. Hyperlink Conversion
Jul 30, 2009I have just been told that one of our servers is being replaced this weekend. I have thousands of hyperlinks in excel docs that reference this server. Other than manually reestablishing the links one by one to the new server, is there a way to do some kind of global change to replace the old server name with the new server name?
These are not hyperlink formulas, but rather Insert>>Hyperlink.
Or, is there a way to convert these hyperlinks to hyperlink formulas that would omit reference to the server and thus not be broken during the conversion?
Grasping at straws because I cannot envision having to relink these one by one.
