Array Formula With Variable Condition
Jan 7, 2009I am running an array formula which is working fine except that I now need to add a further condition: that a one of a number of values in cells C1:C8 is found in range $a1:$A500. I've tried Or with comma separation and with * separations but nothing seems to work.
Can anyone advise me of the syntax?

Array Formula To Find Offset Value Based On Certain Condition?
May 8, 2014I have three columns of Data. A is vehicle number, B is miles and C is a Date. I want to be able to pull the miles for the newest date when the user types in a bus number next to the formula. I think It can be done with an array formula but I am not 100% sure on how to do it. Also is it possible if they enter a vehicle number and a date that a different formula finds the miles for the most recent date to the date entered.

SUMIF While Checking Each Array With Condition

row1 lh lh lh
row2 8 12 8 5 2
First I will need to check if the column has an "lh" if true then sum row2, however i will need a second condition that will check that if >8 it will use the value 8 instead of 12.
However if value is<=8 get that value from the cell.
In this case the correct answer is
8 + 8 + 5 = 21
8 (because it is <=8 get the value from the cell) + 8 (because 12 is>8 use the value "8") + 5 (because <=8)

i have a button that creates a new sheet and names it "GroupX" X being the next number, it automatically adds on the right number by itself and it works fine...
i want it my array to be dynamic so that i dont have to manually edit the array and the macro every time i add a new sheet.
i have tried things like:

Ammending Conditional Array Code To Include Another Condition
Jul 16, 2009Basically, I'm trying to alter the code by inserting another condition where if S12 = R than it will exclude the value found in D12, other wise D12 is included. It was initally setup with a range of $C12:$H12 but i had to write it out long to exclude $D12

Using COUNTIF To Return Matching Array Values With A CONDITION
May 9, 2014I'm having a difficult time returning COUNTIF values for a positive match between 2 columns THAT meet a certain condition. Basically I want to iterate through column A sheet 1 (ONLY for values where column B is paid) and return a count for every instance there is a match of value A sheet 1 in column A sheet 2. In other words, I'm looking to find the number of ids marked as paid from Column A sheet 1 that exist in Column A sheet 2. I don't wish to return the actual ids, just the total count.
I've tried the following but I know there's an error in iterating through Column A the way I have it:
=COUNTIFS(Sheet1!$ColA:$ColA,Sheet2!$ColA:$ColA,Sheet1!$ColB:$ColB,"paid")

Apr 7, 2009Say I have 3 columns of data: A1:C10 and I want to run a Match() function on them all together to see if I get a match any one those cells, say the value of have in X1.
Since, Match only allows a One-Column lookup array.. is there a way to "concatenate" or "append" the 3 columns together within a formula so now I would be looking to Match in an array that is 1 column * 30 rows?
Basically want to convert =Match(X1,A1:C10,0) to =Match(X1,A1:A30,0) without moving around the raw data in the sheet.
And I want to avoid doing an AND or OR formula that uses 3 separate MATCH() for each column.
I have a hunch that the MMULT or MMULT/TRANSPOSE functions are involved, but can't seem to get it right.

I want to isolate one range, Col N, and add an IF condition to it.
There may be other issues preventing this from happening, e.g. the number of IF that exist in the complete formula. I will isolate the current cell and its requirements and then post the entire formula at the end for reference....

I have two drop down boxes, one at B3 and one at C3, i want to D3-J17, but only when B3 = Max and C3 = Sell, otherwise 0 (really instead of 0 im gonna add in more formula for the rest of the drop downs, but for arguments sake lets say 0), what do i do?

Add Condition To Simple Formula
Mar 26, 2009Using Excel 2003. I have a very basic SUM formula I am using to show how many forms are still in-house. Pretty simple.
Column D is how many came in.
Column F is how many were completed.
Column E is what is left.
To get the daily count I take the previous day's Column E, add to today's Column D and subtract today's Column F.
=(E2+D3-F3)
Puts the results in E3.
This formula is copied on down the worksheet which results in:
=(E3+D4-F4), with the results in E4. And so on down Column E.
The problem is that if there is no data entered in Column D or F, the results from E are carried (copied?) as far down as the forumla. i.e., if today's column E results in 4, then that is displayed for as far down as I have copied the formula. What I'd like to do is set the formula so that if there is no data in columns E or F, then there is nothing displayed in Column E.

I checked the formula below, from how I read, it only check for 1 condition...

Jun 29, 2007I have a worksheet where there are rows of information in a specific range (A5:G600). I'm using the conditional format of =AND(MOD(ROW(),2), COUNTA($A5:$G500)) to alternate the row colors. I would also need to have the information in column A formatted. Column A contains dates, and if the date is 90 days less than or equal to today's date (90 days or more old) I would need to format that also.
I've tried using both at the same time, but the conditional formats will override each other when applicable. Am I able to do this via conditional formats, or would I need to do one or the other in VBA?
