i am trying to make one cell automatically change to current date and time when the cell next to it has changed value. ive search other posts but cannot figure this out. so if cell A1 changes value cell B1 should automatically fill with current date and time cell A1 changed value.

Automatic Date Change In VBA?

I need the following text in cell B:7 to change depending on the date.

"SAP F&R Poland Milestones for Tuesday the 9th of March 2013"

The thing is i need the date to read the date for the previous day? The reason being is that im reporting on the milestones for the previous day.

I guess im looking for a way to have the "Tuesday", "9th", "March" and "2013" to change automatically?

Is there a way to automate the date and time in one cell upon saving? I have seen some posts elsewhere upon this subject, but here is the twist:
this is a shared workbook with each tab allocated for a different person. Each person needs to update their worksheet and have the date and time update upon saving. The date and time would appear in the same cell for each sheet. I am fairly certain that this cannot be done with an Excel formula, so I would appreciate if anybody had any VBA suggestions. Automatic Date Change In Excel Sheet Print Out?

At work I have a register/log. Its just a printout of a standard format in excel sheet. I print a month of sheets at a time and write the day and date on it by hand at the top. Is there some formula in excel by which it prints the dates as well in a progressive manner. Eg. If today is 29th May 2014 and today I print 30 copies of the register/log. The first copy has todays date on it and the the next one had tomorrows date....and the 30th copy automatically has the end of April 2014 printed on it.

I've found this code but cannot get it to work.

My workbook is called Shift Log, the worksheet is called v2 and I'm using Excel from MS Office Professional Plus 2010 (32bit)

Automatic Finish Date & Time With Lunch Break And Bank Holidays

I would like a solution for the automatic calculation of the end date and end time for project tasks. I have already spent hours on the issue, thanks for any help on this.

The parameters are:
A1 = Start time 08:00
B1 = End Time 17:00
A2 = break lunch 12:00
B2 = back from lunch 13:00

Task parameters

A5 = start date 01/03/10 (entered manually)
B5 = start time 10:00 (entered manually)
C5 = duration 02:00 (hrs entered manually)
D5 = "end date" >>> (to be calculated exluding breaks and holidays)
E5 = "end time" >>> (to be calculated exluding breaks and holidays)

the next line should be filled in automaitically according to the hours needed and the previous end date & time

A6 = "start date" >>> (after line 5: to be calculated exluding breaks and holidays)
B6 = "start time" (after line 5: to be calculated exluding breaks and holidays)
C6 = duration 14:00 (entered manually)
D6 = "end date" >>> (to be calculated exluding breaks and holidays)
E6 = "end time" >>> (to be calculated exluding breaks and holidays)

and so on for every new line down.

In a particular month, I have some transactions with a consumed date. If the time falls at 12.00 AM in the end of the month, then the transaction goes into the next month. Below is an example:

3/25/2009 12.00.00 AM

4/1/2009 12.00.00 AM

I want all the transactions that fall on 4/1/2009 due to 12.00.00 AM to convert to 3/31/2009.

VBA To Change Cell Entry Into Time And Date

I am looking for a formula or VBA that will be in each in cells D5:D300 and will look at the value entered into the cell in column C and change the 4 digits into the date and time in the same format as NOW() returns.

Example

2045 becomes 17/02/2012 20:45

But I would also want it to see if the 4 digits that represent the time are after 14:00 and before 00:00 then the date would be the date in cell A1-1

example

Cell A1 18/02/12

2045 becomes 17/02/2012 20:45

What I need is lets say I have 3 columns Name, Date & Time

Name field has a drop down menu having a list of names

Now what I need is - lets say from the dropdown menu someone selects a name - THEN at the same instance the Time & Date fields gets populated with the Date & Time of that update.

and that Date & Time shouldn’t change if someone selects the same or different name in the row below

Kindly assist in lay man terms as I am a novice to Excel

In this format what I need is like above , the start date & start time should update real time ONLY when a name is selected

and when the End date is selected the End time , Date Elapsed & Time Elapsed should Populate automatically.

However there should be NO effect if data is entered or changed in the Request Id or Issue Cells - basically the triggers should only be Name field & End date Field

Automatically Date & Time Stamp Row On Change

I work in a sales team, and am currently planning the new year of sales spreadsheets (tracking prospects and orders) These spreadsheets are linked in both directions to the Sales Director's summary spreadsheet (so that she can set the targets, and also provide a summary to the MD). She has asked me whether it is possible to put a formula in that gives the date each line (1 line = 1 prospect) was updated (so that she can see whether information in the line is current / a week old / a month old etc)

Effectively, what I need is in column A a formula which references columns B-Q and if any of those change, puts in the date of change. Is this possible, or am I going to have to ask the sales guys to do it manually? I have tried to use the =Now() function, but, because the spreadsheets are linked, and auto-update on opening, every time the spreadsheet is opened, each line goes to today's date.

The previous threads that I looked at suggested either: volatile time stamp in shared workbook

That is bad design, Enter =NOW() to a single name cell named cell and use date =MyD-T in ALL cells needing the Date & Time. Where MyD-T is the named cell. I would advise STRONGLY against using Manual Calculation as it's NOT good spreadsheet design and a mistake waiting to happen.

Auto Fill Non-changing Date&time When Cells Change

Let's say I have column C blank, but every time it's filled in with something I want column A to be today's date and B to be current time. Unfortunately, the functions NOW() and TODAY() don't give me what I want. They get recalculated every time that I update the spreadsheet.
Another thing that I can do is just press ctrl+shift+; to generate a non changing date/time, but I want it to happen automatically (being super lazy).

I have been struggling with my Excel 07 Date format. Nearly every time I perform a calculation, enter in a value etc in a spreadsheet my answer is returned as a date. So for example if I enter in a cell: = 5 - 4. I get the answer "1-Jan-1900" instead of 1. I have to manually set the formats to general or number if I want the correct format. The setting seems to be the default one and occurs for all workbooks I open. What can I do to change this.

I have a cell that has a formula in it- "=IF(C13="","",VLOOKUP(C13,DATA,2,)).

Right now it works fine and returns a value of either "NANN" or "HZ". Which is fine.

But, what I would like it to do is, if the result equals "NANN", I would like the result to display "BURLINGTON". Or, if the result equals "HZ", I would like the result to display "CONOCOPHILLIPS".

I am attempting to pick up a date with time entry on a worksheet and place it into a TextBox on a UserForm. Format on the sheet is mm/dd/yyyy h:mm AM/PM. The UserForm is placing the value as mm/dd/yyyy 12:00 AM. here is the

"dDate" is the named range where the date is sitting. The format is also set on the TextBox2 exit event. Can anyone see why only the date portion is being transfered with the default 12:00 AM for no time component of the value?

I have a time tracking sheet. In Column C and Column D there is a start time and end time respectively where my team people will enter the current time accordingly.

I would like to lock the cell once they enter the time but the entire sheet should not lock. Only the Column C and D should lock upon people enter the time. Basically, once user enter the time, they should not be able to change it.

I'm in the process of trying to get a macro to run when one cell, named "ImpVersion" changes.

Here's what I've got so far.

Automatic Calculation Upon Change-way To Disable For Certain Cells Only?

I have several data validation style drop down menus, and I basically don't want excel to recognize changes in these cells and execute a calculation of the entire workbook. Since there is a large number of calculations being performed in the workbook the sheet gets really slow.

Overall the way excel "automatically calculates" really screws me up a lot. This built in functionality could be a lot smarter in my opinion.

Automatic Copy / Paste Of One Output At A Time

So I've made a large spread sheet in Excel that calculates many values and constraints for the optimization of a structural beam; from there, the minimum value that satisfies all constraints is output in an individual cell. I want to see how this output value changes when I change one value, the length of the beam. For instance, I input a length of the beam (10 ft.) and I get an output value of 643.50; I copy and special paste this value manually into a cell. I then change the length to 15 ft. and get an output value of 1322.83 and copy and special paste this value into the next cell. This process is very tedious, because I have to do this for hundreds of values. Is there a way to automate this so that I don't have to do everything by hand. The tricky part is that every time I change the length, the entire worksheet must recalculate before I get a new output value.

For example, I would like a "Page x of y" footer, but I don't want "Page 1 of 3,500", I want "Page 1 of 3", etc...every time that Column A value changes.
