Automatic Finish Date & Time With Lunch Break And Bank Holidays

Feb 13, 2010

I would like a solution for the automatic calculation of the end date and end time for project tasks. I have already spent hours on the issue, thanks for any help on this.

The parameters are:
A1 = Start time 08:00
B1 = End Time 17:00
A2 = break lunch 12:00
B2 = back from lunch 13:00

Task parameters

A5 = start date 01/03/10 (entered manually)
B5 = start time 10:00 (entered manually)
C5 = duration 02:00 (hrs entered manually)
D5 = "end date" >>> (to be calculated exluding breaks and holidays)
E5 = "end time" >>> (to be calculated exluding breaks and holidays)

the next line should be filled in automaitically according to the hours needed and the previous end date & time

A6 = "start date" >>> (after line 5: to be calculated exluding breaks and holidays)
B6 = "start time" (after line 5: to be calculated exluding breaks and holidays)
C6 = duration 14:00 (entered manually)
D6 = "end date" >>> (to be calculated exluding breaks and holidays)
E6 = "end time" >>> (to be calculated exluding breaks and holidays)

and so on for every new line down.

Calculating Time, Potential Lunch Break

Oct 8, 2008

I am creating a worksheet where employees schedule work throughout the day
eg task 1 will be start time 9am, finish time 11am. The result is 2 hours to do the task.

The problem i'm having is that I need to do a calculation that if a task includes lunch then the result takes an hour away from the task time.
eg task 2 will be start time 12pm, finish time 3pm, excel displays 3 hours, i need it to say 2 hours because 1-2pm is contractual lunch.

I can't just do a day formula that says minus 1 from total as this is task orientated and will vary depending on start and finish times of each task.

Excel 2010 :: Lunch Break Times

Apr 11, 2014

I am using excel 2010 and I am trying to find a formula whats going to give me added break with a set time but anything over a set time doesn't. I want it over 10:58:00 and under 11:32:00. I've got the numbers and tried with a formula but all whats happening is that all the data is adding 30mins break to the end time.

The sheet is using live times and data so the start times vary as do the due time.

How To Calculate Work Hours From Only A Start And Finish Date And Time

Feb 28, 2013

I can calculate total hours when a user enters a start date/time and a finish date/time. The kick is I only want to include hours from 2:00 PM to 12:00 AM (10 hour period). So assuming all the start and end times will be in this range, how can i calculate work hours over multiple days? For example: Start date/time = 2/26/13 2:30 PM and end date/time = 2/28/13 10:30 PM. I want my calculated hours to show 28 hours.

Separate Hours Based On Time / Date / Holidays

Jan 9, 2013

I calculate total labor hours entered into a CRM system and use it for various reports, but it's incredibly inaccurate for the following reasons:

Any labor put in between 6pm EST and 8am EST from Mon-Fri is considered "on call"All labor from Friday 6:01pm - Monday 7:59am is considered "on call"Labor entered on a company recognized holiday is considered "on call"Not every employee takes call

So, what I'm trying to do is take the total labor and pull out only the hours entered outside of the criteria above. If it were simply based on time during the week, i'd be fine, but I have no clue how to do everything else.

In the end, my new labor hours would be split into "Business Hrs. Labor" and "On Call" labor.

Adding Time To A Date Excluding Weekends And Holidays

Feb 12, 2010

I've been reading up on Excel's date and time functions and can't really figure out the best way of doing this.

I have a total amount of time that a machine should take to finish a task. I'd like to enter a date and time into a cell (Start Date) and have another cell return the date and time that the machine should be done with the task excluding weekends, and holidays (End Date). This would be based on a certain number of "working hours" (hours in the workday minus break periods) that would be calculated in another cell.

Would I be able to do this with the pop up calender?

I'm attempting to make a simple time sheet for a handful of employees. I'd like to enter the clock in time and clock out time for each day. The end cell should be the running total for the week. The tricky part for me is having the formula subtract an hour for each day that is over 5 hours.

The date and time would appear in the same cell for each sheet. I am fairly certain that this cannot be done with an Excel formula, so I would appreciate if anybody had any VBA suggestions. Calculating Time Absent Before And After Lunch

Mar 18, 2013

I work at a call center and I have to report absent time for my agents.

I am working on a template that was previously saved, however, the absent hours do not account for when the person has not been to lunch yet. This is usually done as a manual update.

There are three main situations that I need my formula to account for:

1) Person that has been absent all day
2) Person that has been absent part of the day (after lunch)
3) Person htat has been absent only a few hours (before lunch)

Lunches are 30 minutes long

Whenever a person is absent or late, we put their time in two columns called ABS in and ABS out. It basically marks the start and end of their absent time.

ABS IN is when their schedule would have startedABS OUT is when they arrived if they were late, or their out time if they were absent all day.

Here is what my spreadsheet would kind of look like... I need to know how many absent hours there were to calculate the actual worked hours.

I cannot simply deduct abs out minus ABS in because then I am not factoring in the lunch times.

This is how my spreadsheet roughly looks like:

Agent
SCH TIME IN
Lunch
SCH TIME OUT
ABS TIME IN
ABS TIME OUT
Total Sch Hrs
ABS Hours
Actual Worked Hrs

Automatic Page Break

Feb 3, 2010

I have a worksheet where the print area is 16 columns and ~90 rows. have it set to print on one page in page set-up, which generally scales to about 80%, and this has worked fine for years. A couple of months ago I was traveling for work, but got a call that the worksheet was printing each cell as a separate page. My co-worker messed around with it and it seemed to fix when she cleared and reset the print area, and has been working fine ever since.

Today it popped up again. It is setting automatic page breaks every few cells so page 1 is A1:A7, page 2 is A8:A11, etc...Both Print Preview and actually printing a page show me my few cells in the lower right hand corner of the page. Viewing the page break preview shows that they are all automatic page breaks, and if I try to move them I get the error that Microsoft Office Excel cannot move the page break because doing so would reduce the scale below the minimum 10%.

As I mentioned I have it set to "fit to" 1 page high and 1 page wide, which it right now is saying sets the scale to 10%. If I instead choose the scaling to be "adjust to" and set to 100% it only wants to take up 4 pages, but if I try to manually drag the break over afew columns it reverts back to wanting to print every few cells.

Automatic Break When Executing Code

I am not able to duplicate this error at my home (nor do i want to) and I can not quite figure out what is causing this as it only happens at my work computer. I have tried my coworkers computer and the code executes flawlessly like at my home.

Strangely enough, when the code breaks I am able to hit 'continue' and it continues on its way until the next hiccup. Please assist as this fluke is causing my brain to spiral.

Mark The Hours On A Start And Finish Time

Mar 25, 2014

I am working on an excel spreadsheet for work and I have to show a chart that shows the time of day a space is in use. Right now I am having to mark all of these by hand which takes me forever because I have a couple thousand lines of information.

I need to mark the hours in use based off the start and finish time.

For Example:
1) If the start time was 7:00 and the end time was 10:45 then the markers would only mark 7am and 10am
2) If the start time was 7:15 and the end time was 10:00 then the markers would only mark 7am and 9am
3) If the start time was 7:30 and the end time was 10:30 then the markers would only mark 7am and 10am
4) If the start time was 7:45 and the end time was 10:15 then the markers would only mark 8am and 9am

I was given the formula and it works to count the whole hour but now I need the formula tweaked and I don't know how...I need the formula to account for quarterly hours...and I don't know how to fix it.

Attached is an example of the spreadsheet of what I currently have and of what I need. Book1.xlsx
