Calculate Weekly Totals From Daily Figures?
Mar 4, 2012I have a spreadsheet called PRODUCTION, where information is entered daily. I need weekly totals (mon - sun) to be extracted into another worksheet.
View 7 RepliesI have a spreadsheet called PRODUCTION, where information is entered daily. I need weekly totals (mon - sun) to be extracted into another worksheet.
View 7 RepliesI assume there's a database (or pivot table?) solution for my task, which is to detect the days, weeks and months within a very long table, and obtain the totals of the data therein.
See attached worksheet.
I have a time sheet that I can figure the daily OT and DT on, but how to calc the the Bi-Weekly totals.
I can only have 80 hours per week, the rest needs to be carried to the OT field, but I can only have 40 of OT per week and the rest needs to be carried to the DT.

attached is a returns sheets that a qty is logged against part number every week. Some of the data I can use pivots on ( no problem ), but I have an issue on the returns tab where I think index/match / sum or something else will be better. At the moment because of the layout of data I have to drag each week number into the pivot value, do a greater than zero filter then summarize as a sum (yuk) I just cant get my head around index/match /sum. It would be great just to be able to enter a week number, and all the warehouse, part numbers and qty came through. There is a short explanation on the returns tab of what im looking for.
so in essence I want week numbers across the top, but be able to enter a year on the returns tab that looks at the week number. I don't know enough about the formula to change.
I am doing a budget sheet in Excel for the different expenses accrued by the different classes we offer in our university department (honoraria for guest lectures, tickets to shows or museums, etc.). The sheet is formatted as a table and I have the Total Row enabled at the bottom.
However, we have a reserved budget for different things. For instance, Fall 2013 museum tickets has, say, a budget of $1,000. Fall 2013 honoraria might have a budget of $2,000. I want to be able to filter to see only Fall 2013 honoraria: the totals row will reflect this, but I also want it to automatically tell me how much money is left in that budget (i.e. I want it to know to subtract $2,000 from the totals figure because that is the budget for Fall 2013 honoraria).
It gets a little more complicated because we also have a budget for each class too. One class might have both honoraria for guest lectures and field trips to a museum, and we might say "We don't want this class to spend more than $500." Again, I want to filter to see just this class, and have the Totals row also show me how much money is remaining for this class.
Sheet 2 to be referred for preparing report in Sheet1. Data is available in Sheet2. I need to prepare a daily report of how many documents have been received from "To Reliance" folder, 'Reject' Folder & how many documents have been sent from "From Reliance" Folder.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI need to make a sheet that give totals based on monthly figures from last year.
Then based on difference between the 2 it will show no increase and no bonus, or it will show an increase and bonus based on increments $75.
One month Last year the store made 31.82% on it’s money.
The bonus for anything over is $75 per 10% increments.
Ie
0.00% $400
0.10% $475
0.20% $550
0.30% $625
0.40% $700
So this month was over last months, 37.18% so the bonus was $3,975.
What formula do I use to make this calculation shown under % is nothing but anything over adds up to a relation with $75. added to a base of $400 every 10%.
This hurt my head trying to get it right and im new to this more complicated formulas.
I've got data in E4:I4, Monday - Friday.
What I need to do, is add the total of those 5 figures in a total, but then clear the data in those 5 days.
Then when I input the data for the next week in to those days, I want it to add to the previos week.
So basically;
In week 1 the 'Total' is just week 1
In week 2, the 'Total' is week 1 & week 2'
I will only be going up to week 5. (only week 5 once in a 3 month period, so 2 4 weeks and a 5 week)
Have the formula that does the work daily , need formula on sheet3 , that does the convert of daily into weeks ?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have daily Open, High, Low, Close stock prices. Separately, I need the same data but in weekly format, so:
1. The weekly open is the open of the first working day.
2. The weekly high is the highest of each of the daily highs.
3. The weekly low is the lowest of each of the daily lows.
4. The weekly close is the close of the last working day.
How can I do this using formulas?

I have two time series which span several years. The first series measures stock levels on every Friday (52 values a year). The second series measures the price level every weekday (260 values a year).
I'd like to condense the daily data in to a weekly average, can I do this easily? For example, I could manually use the Weeknum function to calculate the week number of each daily price data, then find the average daily price for each week, thus giving me 52 values which I can compare to the weekly stock series. Is there an automatic, fast way of doing this? Alternatively, I'd be happy to settle with a monthly average. Is this possible via macro's or does VBA need to be used?
I have a multiple sheet document, on the first sheet I have my daily data:

This is updated daily and it shows patients that have been through the department, who, when and how long. This is then converted on sheet 2 and shows as:

My third sheet has a very similar layout to sheet 2 but is weekly, previously i have used the following to find a weekly total:
=SUM('sheet2'!B563:B567)
I now have well over 4000 rows and altering this sum to accommodate for each week is time consuming as sheet 2+ are updated to cover the following 6 months.
Is there a better formula or a way to use the current formula and drag it down to auto fill? Currently trying to auto fill does the following:
=SUM('DAILY ANALYSIS'!B563:B567)
=SUM('DAILY ANALYSIS'!B564:B568)
=SUM('DAILY ANALYSIS'!B565:B569)
I want something like:
=SUM('DAILY ANALYSIS'!B563:B567)
=SUM('DAILY ANALYSIS'!B570:B574)
=SUM('DAILY ANALYSIS'!B577:B581)
I have one workbook where someone enters information on a daily basis and id like to sum this in another workbook weekly.
The daily sheet "sheet1" has headings in row 1 starting B1 = 11/02/2012 this is then dragged along till the end of the year. In B2 the user will enter a number so B1 - 11/02/2012 and B2 - 5
On the next "sheet2" in cell B1 i have the date 17/02/2012 and in B2 id like to sum the total from "sheet1" B2 - H2 which is in effect the range 11/02/2012 - 17/02/2012 then id like to be able to drag this formula along so it automatically sums the weekly totals based on the first sheet
I'll use following as an example.
I work for a supermarket, I receive many fruits per day and I want to see what percentage of them are bananas, apples, oranges, watermelons etc.
Are there any templates of pie charts and bar graphs that I can use for this that will show the percentage of said fruits daily, weekly and monthly?
I have the following setup:
52 weeks of 2010 cost with the following structure:
week number | wk1 | wk2 | wk3
week ending | 1/10/2010 | 1/17/2010 | 1/24/2010
weekly cost | 57,000 | 35,000 | 42,000
I want to be able to use the above data to present a summary, but instead of weekly, list the data on a monthly basis:
month | Jan | Feb | Mar
monthly cost | wk1-4 | wk5-8 | wk9-12+3days wk13
Any way to set this up automatically instead of having to split the weekly data as many months share the same weeks?
I have an excel 2007 script that downloads daily stock data and prices. I do analysis and graph the data.
I would like to keep the download the same, but modify my analysis so as to obtain weekly and/or monthly data.
I am sure this is commonly done, and is not rocket science, but so far I am baffled as to the procedure / algorithm to do this.
I have a daily rainfall data and I want to convert it to monthly totals. I tried the pivotal table but the arrangement of the data seemed to be confusing (i.e the year, month and day are in different columns).

01/02/08 - 52

14/03/08 - 23
12/13/08 - 12
I would get:
Feb 08 - 129

I'm trying to come up with a formula that calculates a year to date target, taking into consideration the actual working days and the target for those days.
So for instance today is the 12th of May and my year to date percentage is 40% but it should be 100%. How do i create a formula to calculate that?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have created a table for a business to monitor all income and expenses within a financial year of that business. This table contains raw data for example, date, income/expense, wholesale amount, retail amount etc. So when the business makes a sale for example I enter in the date of the sale, type of sale, wholesale and retail amounts etc, and i do this for every sale I make.
What i need to do is figure out a way to calculate the average monthly and weekly income to date so as the financial year continues and i make more sales i will continue to enter more data into this table and it will automatically adjust to the new weekly or monthly average income. This way i always have an actual and live average for every cent the business has made as the year progresses and i can use this to budget for the business. I would also like to know what the income is for the current week or month. that way i can say for example on average the business makes $4000 a week and in this week it has made say $5000.
I am wanting to calculate a rolling monthly average and a rolling weekly average.
The following cells have the headers k2 has Allan, Cell L2 has Bill, Cell M2 has Charlie, Cell N2 has Don, cell o2 has Ellen and Cell P2 has Flora
Column J3 to J14 respectivley has Jan to Dec
The balance of the cells will have the data.
I then need to plot the rolling averages for each person on a gaph as teh months data is filled.

I'm trying to create a simple sales report. No VBA code, only excel formulas.
I'm stuck on trying to calculate the weekly sales. I want excel to be able to recognize the day of the week and know that the month started mid week.
Ex. If the 1st of the month started on a Wednesday, it adds all the sales from Wednesday to Saturday only and
if the month ends on a Tuesday, it will calculate the sales from Sunday to Tuesday only.
I want it done automatically.
I've included a zipped excel sheet example of the worksheet for a visual example.
I receive monthly expenditure returns from different departments which I have to consolidate. The problem I'm encountering is that some departments submit their data as a monthly figure and some as the cumulative position. It would be useful if I had a formula that identified what data type was submitted and from that calculate both the monthly and cumulative figure.
If you look at the attached example I'd like to input a formula in columns I and J that uses the data contained in columns B to E to calculate the monthly and cumulative expenditure figures.
I have a spread sheet that is used to review calls placed by a call center.
Column A has the extensions of the phones, and Column E has the type of call (Outgoing or Incoming). Each line is a new phone call.
We have about 8 extensions, but the worksheet could have a couple thousand calls. So, Column A could have extension 1401 from rows 1-100 as extension 1401 made 100 calls. I'm looking for a formula or macro that will summarize how many outgoing and incoming calls extension 1401 had. Thoughts?
My initial thought was something like this:
=SUMPRODUCT(--(A2:A5000=H2),(E2:E5000))
In this formula, I would type in the extension of H2 and it would scan Column A and add up the values in Column E. The only problem is, that Column H doesn't contain a numerical value. It only has "Incoming" and "Outgoing" (minus the quotes), so this doesn't work.

Some years ago I came across a formulae to calculate Daily Interest on a Building Society Savings account in the UK. I have used this since but find my calculations never work out the same as my BS, although to my advantage! It is =B3*B4/360*DAYS360(B5,B6,TRUE) Where:
B3=Capital
B4=Interest Rate
B5=Starting Date
B6=Finishing Date
For some reason the formulae uses 360/year and not 365/year. Using both still gives wrong answer.
I'm working on a time series dataset with a time step of 15 minutes. I need to calculate daily average of the several variables. So let column "A" be the "date-time" column, let column "B" be the "variable column" and column "C" be the "average column", I need a function that calculated in C1 cell the average of B1 to B95 cells, in C2 cell the average of B96 to B190 cells, in C3 cell the average of B191 to B285 etc.
