I have daily Open, High, Low, Close stock prices. Separately, I need the same data but in weekly format, so:
1. The weekly open is the open of the first working day.
2. The weekly high is the highest of each of the daily highs.
3. The weekly low is the lowest of each of the daily lows.
4. The weekly close is the close of the last working day.
I have two time series which span several years. The first series measures stock levels on every Friday (52 values a year). The second series measures the price level every weekday (260 values a year).
I'd like to condense the daily data in to a weekly average, can I do this easily? For example, I could manually use the Weeknum function to calculate the week number of each daily price data, then find the average daily price for each week, thus giving me 52 values which I can compare to the weekly stock series. Is there an automatic, fast way of doing this? Alternatively, I'd be happy to settle with a monthly average. Is this possible via macro's or does VBA need to be used?
I assume there's a database (or pivot table?) solution for my task, which is to detect the days, weeks and months within a very long table, and obtain the totals of the data therein.
I have a multiple sheet document, on the first sheet I have my daily data:
Name ID# Ward TTO Transport Transport 2 Date Time In Time Out Time Stayed
ex1 xxxxx 12 xx Taxi
01/01/12 xx:xx xx:xx xx:xx
[Code] ........
This is updated daily and it shows patients that have been through the department, who, when and how long. This is then converted on sheet 2 and shows as:
Date Number of Patients
01/01/12 2
02/01/12 1
03/01/12 1
My third sheet has a very similar layout to sheet 2 but is weekly, previously i have used the following to find a weekly total:
=SUM('sheet2'!B563:B567)
I now have well over 4000 rows and altering this sum to accommodate for each week is time consuming as sheet 2+ are updated to cover the following 6 months.
Is there a better formula or a way to use the current formula and drag it down to auto fill? Currently trying to auto fill does the following:
I have one workbook where someone enters information on a daily basis and id like to sum this in another workbook weekly.
The daily sheet "sheet1" has headings in row 1 starting B1 = 11/02/2012 this is then dragged along till the end of the year. In B2 the user will enter a number so B1 - 11/02/2012 and B2 - 5
On the next "sheet2" in cell B1 i have the date 17/02/2012 and in B2 id like to sum the total from "sheet1" B2 - H2 which is in effect the range 11/02/2012 - 17/02/2012 then id like to be able to drag this formula along so it automatically sums the weekly totals based on the first sheet
I am trying to make my excel sheet more robust to get data on weekly basis. I assign tasks to different members of team by entering the assigned date in column next to the member names. Next week, say on Monday, I need to get total number of tasks assigned for each of the members till Friday (last working day of previous week!). I need to get this data every week.
i have daily time sheets that make up a week and have 52 sheets for each week...there are contract numbers and contract ticket numbers that i want to use as criteria to sum the total hours of each day and export the data to a sheet that will keep a running total of all hours booked to those contract number and contract ticket number over the coarse of the year as i fill out the weekly time sheets.
I have created the bulk of the worksheet, and I am now on the summary page. My challenge for the summary is looking up when someone's name appears in Column A on any of the sheets, then summing the hours per week that the person worked.
The main sheets are to track hours, and billable dollars per project, but the summary is to track total hours per team member per week to make sure staff is being full utilized.
In the examples I have attached Aaron's summary should have 13 hrs per week listed. I do not have the foggiest clue how to do a lookup on a name when the position and sheet is random, and return a value summed for each week.
On the summary sheet I did copy rows 1&2 so at least the summary columns match the sheets.
Example 1 is a sample of the detail on 1 of the 5 sheets that in this example could contain Aaron's name in any random place in column A. Example 2 is my hope for the summary page, that will sum those random hours per week matching the headers on the Detailed sheets.
We have a weekly "On-Time" report that shows early, late, on time, or no data. Each week has a total percentage of early, late, on time, or no data deliveries. I now need a monthly total on a seperate worksheet, but for some reason I can not get the percentages to total correctly. I am attaching the spreadsheet.
I have a nice case to prepare and need weekly riskfree interest returns on the UK treasury bond. Right now I have daily returns and want to convert them into weekly. The problem is, weeks do not always contain five trading days. How can I turn my data into weekly average riskfree interest returns?

In the attached workbook, the CASTINGS worksheet has a SOH ( stock on hand) column. It looks up the SOH from the SOH worksheet (column 3) for each product on order for that week.
But how do I make week 2 use the SOH figure minus the previous weeks order, IF there was an order?
And so on until week 52.
The problem I have found is what if that product wasnt ordered for the last 4 weeks? Maybe I need a temp worksheet with all the products listed for all the weeks and a running total of SOH weather it is ordered or not?
We have folders of daily cash collections stored in such a manner, yearmonth. In every month, we will have worksheets sent by the end user to the finance dept, naming it using mmdd. (The folder in the drive will reads: C:Daily Cash Collection2013), (C:Daily Cash Collection2013 0104.xlxs), (C:Daily Cash Collection2013 0115.xlxs). I intend to put the master list outside the year folder, meaning, in the Daily Cash Collection folder (C:Daily Cash CollectionDCC_2013.xlsm). When I have a new folder for year 2014, my master list will be here (C:Daily Cash CollectionDCC_2014.xlsm)
I am looking to automate this opening of all the daily worksheets, select all data except the header row, and copy it into a master list (which will be data for the whole year, with 3 months of the previous year data).
The data in the daily sheets, it will have collections of the same Debit Note number from the file sent earlier. Meaning, if the file was sent on 0104, there is a DN0114-0002, collection of $50. In another daily sheets 0115, it will also have a collection of DN0114-0002 of $20. This 2nd information of $20 will also need to be captured as the payment in 0301 is partial and incomplete.
I will need to copy the daily sheets into the master list every now and then. Is there a way to check and copy the daily sheets and not repeating it and missed out one?
In another words, if I had already copied Jan sheets into the master list, will it look for the next worksheet that I had not copy and copy according the DN number? (it will be in running number but sometimes will have DN of the previous month due to the partial payment ealier).
Alternatively, if this is too complicated, how to insert a macro to copy all cells except the header (will be in fixed column and the first row will be fixed) from an open daily sheet, find the last row in the master list and copy it to the master list, and after copying, unclear the selection of the daily sheet and close the daily? Where can I put this macro as the daily sheet is from the end user. I can only put it into my master list, but my problem is, the file name of the daily sheet is not fixed, it depends on the day the end user saved and email the data to Finance Dept.
I have 12 observations per variable over 2013. At the end of each month I gathered the average value of X of said month. What I want to do is convert these observations to a list of weekly observations, where each week in January gets the value of the January observation
Example:
Month123456789101112 Value 2345678910111213
And get it like:
Week Value 1 2 2 2 3 2 4 2 5 2 6 3 7 3
and so on.
Since I've got a lot of variables I'd like to use some kind of formula.
I am to the end of my wits - or maybe it's impossible to do the following with formulas?
I have the data like this: Column A: Date (which is basically the date for the beginning of weeks) Column B: Month of the date in Column A Column C: Year of the data in Column A Column D: Weekly data.
Maybe it's because it's Friday night, but I just can't invent how to do the following:
Create a new column E that would contain the monthly sum of ColumnD across all weeks of this month - but entered only against the first week of that month (that is currently in Column A) I.e., in my example it should be: 113 empty empty 201 empty empty empty empty..................
I've a workbook with two sheets 1)'weekly' and 2)'summary.'
Weekly is divided into products (up to a maximum of 8) with a fixed number of columns (4) directly below but a varying number of rows beneath as follows:
Product A (main header) Issue|Serial Number|Analysis|Comments data|data|data|data data|data|data|data data|data|data|data data|data|data|data
--couple of blank rows--
Product B Issue|Serial Number|Analysis|Comments data|data|data|data data|data|data|data data|data|data|data
--couple of blank rows--
Product C Issue|Serial Number|Analysis|Comments data|data|data|data data|data|data|data data|data|data|data data|data|data|data data|data|data|data data|data|data|data
..etc...
This weekly data must be appended into each product's respective grouping within the 'Summary' tab. With the following small additions: 2 additional columns filled with the model and current week must be inserted beforehand:
Summary page will contain the groupings of Product A through H. The weekly may only contain 1 (say Product D) in any given week, or all 8.
I realize there are more efficient ways of doing this, i.e. pivot tables, creating discrete tabs for each product, etc... but I've been tasked by the higher-ups to generate the above as I've laid out.
I have a problem converting hourly data into daily data for electricity import capacity. My file has the following form: | Connection | Date | Period | Available (capacity) | Where 'Connection' identifies the physical location of the capacity (4 possibilities, Germany -> Netherlands; Norway -> Nehterlands; Belgium -> NL; UK -> NL), 'Date' refers to the date, Period refers to hour of the day (e.g. 18:00-19:00) and 'Available' refers to the import capacity of electricity on that conncetion during that hour. I need daily aggregates and tried several things such as DSUM but I cannot manage I've shortened the attached file quite a bit because of the upload size restriction. I am using Excel 2010. I've tried some suggestions in similar topics but none worked for me.
I want it to average based on month and year. I have daily data and want to average everything for say January 2000 into one cell and February of 2000 and so on. Column A has date (mm/dd/yy) and column B has data.
excel 2010. This workbook has 4 worksheet(Process Engineer,OSBL,OSA,Lab Operator) I want to know what is the best excel formula/function to summary this 4 worksheet.
Example:I want a formula/function to summary all the statement from 4 worksheets and total number of answer "1" per statement from 4 worksheet.
Sample Statement below
"Demonstrate Interpersonal (People-to-People-) Skills" Question:What is the formula if above statement contains this statement in 4 worksheet? As i checked the total is 4 then What is the formula to get all total answered ICC on this statement from 4 worksheet?
I have a large set of daily rainfall and evaporation data (see attached sheet) which I would like to sum into monthly data. I have previously been doing this in Access, can anyone show me a quick way to do it in excel?
I have a two rows of data one containing names and the other containing corresponding numbers. The names are static and the numbers change on a daily basis. I want to be able to copy the numbers to a static table next to each name on a daily basis (so I can see what the value was a few weeks ago).
Is there anything I can write to do this job?
My thinking was to set a vlookup to grab the data but i'm not sure how this would work because the vlookup would change daily when the numbers change
I have attached a tiny part of a massive data set I am working on. As you can see in column 2, the data is roughly every 15min for 5 days. The data I am interested in averaging is color coordinated in column 3 (if you scroll down you can see a different color for each day's data set.)
In column 5 the dates are summarized into days as opposed to the 15min breakdown. In column 6 is the problem. How do I get the averages of the relevant data in column 6 in such a way that I can drag the formula down and the next cell will automatically calculate the average for the NEXT day, REGARDLESS of how many temp readings there are, as this data fluctuates from day to day.
