View 1 RepliesI have an excel file which consist of 12 sheets. The main sheet contain columns from A to EL and 556 rows.
At the moment, i have data on from column A to AI (we will add more data day by day). All data in main sheet are linking to another 4 sheets which basically using IF, VLOOKUP, and Conditional Formatting. My file originally was only 4.6MB in size.
However, after adding the formula (IF & Vlookup) and conditional formatting to the fourth sheet (number of columns is from A to BZ) then the file size increased from 4.6MB to 13.7MB.
My excel file also became very slow and i need to take off the Automatically Calculation option.
How do you changethe font size in acheckbox in excel 2010?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a user who is asking if it is possible to create a custom checkbox control for use inside of Excel. This new checkbox control is essentially a checkbox control that has other graphics around the checkmark other than a square.
For instance, he need to have a triangle that has a clickable checkmark inside it. He needs a circle with a clickable checkmark inside as well as a couple of other shapes that have a clickable checkmark inside (no square around the checkbox). I've tried to put a regular checkbox on top of a graphic but you have to deal with the square corners of the checkbox even if it's set to transparent.
Any code or otherwise on how to create a custom or add-in that would do what I describe?

Is it possible to make a worksheet smaller. What I want to do is to be able to tab from, a1 to b1 to c1 to d1 etc up to g1 and then if I tab again it goes to a2. Is this possible? Is there any way of making it skip the a coloumn when tabbing even if it has data in it?
View 10 Replies View RelatedWe are using an excel file, which doesn't contain more then 1MB of data and have few "count and sum" formulae. but size of file keeps fluctuating from 1MB to 500MB. some time the size of file would be 1MB and once you will refresh the window file size will go to 480MB or some random number.
because of this excel file is quite slow and very difficult to work.
I am working on a Excel sheet of 156KB. Unfortunately it is increased to around 5MB. May i know the reason that may happened and how can i retrieve that.

One of the spreadsheets reads compatibility mode. I have no idea what that is.
I'm trying to get a checkbox in a user form to prepopulate depending on what's in cell H5.
Here is the line of code that I need rewriting (in bold):
Sub Userform_Initialize()
LabelPolicyNumber.Caption = ActiveSheet.Range("B5").Text
LabelSponsorName.Caption = ActiveSheet.Range("D5").Text
If Application.WorksheetFunction.IsNA(ActiveSheet.Range("H5")) = True Or ActiveSheet.Range("H5") = "" Then CheckBoxHalifax.Value = False Else CheckBoxHalifax.Value = True
End Sub
H5 contains a vlookup formula, so depending on other variables it can either have a value ("Halifax"), an error (#NA) or be blank. I've
It seems Excel will only evaluate the first statement and ignore the Or statement, meaning when H5 is blank Halifax is checked off when I load the user form.

I have excel 2007 and I came across the following difficulty:
If I create a graph (or a chart) the default size is "Letter". However, I can switch this "Letter" to "A4" which I need and then create a template. But I always have to manually choose this template for new charts. However switching this any time I create a new chart is a rather bad way to cope with. Even clicking on set as default obviously does not cause to have A4 size for new chart, it still has got size of Letter when adding a new chart.
I assume the solution could be in XLStart templates, but it probably doesnt work for charts that you add. Or at least I didnt find any clue on the internet for this problem.
I have got many files lets say 30 files ,in each file there are 3 columns of data but the no: of rows varies for each file .for eg 1 file has got 6 rows and 3 columns then next file has 3 rows and 3 columns etc .i was not able to append it since its size varies.i need 2 write all these data in an excel sheet also . One of my engaging tasks at work is to disable/enable general ledger accounts (accounting speak) in our Oracle ERP application using one of their forms.
In this case it would be a list of gl accounts and to the left of the gl account would be a check box that I can click.
Checked means enabled.
Blank would mean disabled.
If I have a list of currently enabled gl accounts that are to be disabled (unchecked) then I have to do so one by one. I can click with the mouse on the checkbox or I can using the keyboard use the space bar followed by the down arrow key and repeat. As fun as that sounds sometimes I'm faced with dozens or hundreds at a time.
Therefore my question is can I automate this using VBA? or any other tools out there.
Using Excel Office 2007, Oracle ERP (9.5.8) I think - it's old

I am copying a large table of data from a report generated in Firefox and pasting it into Excel 2010. The data has several columns of html checkboxes. I need to do two things with the checkboxes and would like to do a third:
1: Count how many checkboxes are ticked in each of the columns.
2: Compare a column A of checkboxes to a column B containing numbers, and then both count and highlight any row where the checkbox is ticked but column B is a 0.
3: (optional) I would like to erase the html checkboxes and, if the box was checked, replace it with a regular x in the underlying cell.
I found some code on another forum that generates a list of values for each checkbox (vba - Obtain the value of an HTML Checkbox inserted in Excel worksheet - Stack Overflow).
Based on that, I recorded a macro to extract the html Name of a single checkbox and then set up a Vlookup for the True/False value. However, I can't figure out how to automate a vlookup for every individual checkbox and put the data in the appropriate underlying cell.
I need a VBA code that will when used with a Form Control "Check Box" will unhide / hide a row. To be more exact, I'm needind the code to "Hide" row 34 when unchecked and "Unhide" the same row when checked. I'm using Excel 2010.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have 3 checkboxes; when one is checked, a set/range of rows should be visible. Only 1 checkbox should be checked at a time.
If checkbox 18 is already checked, and checkbox 20 is then checked, I want the first checkbox unchecked and the rows for checkbox hidden.
I'm using the following code. It works great as long as I check and uncheck the same box before attempting to check another box. But if Checkbox18 is already checked with its rows showing, and I then check checkbox20, the checkbox20 sub runs and as I step through, it jumps to sub checkbox18.
How can I stop my subs from jumping from one to another?
Code:
Private Sub CheckBox18_Click()
If CheckBox18.Value = True Then

Worksheets("TRF").Rows("42:64").Hidden = True
Worksheets("TRF").Rows("65:76").Hidden = True

I am looking to insert a drop down box in Excel 2010 which will allow users to select multiple items. At the moment I have data validation drop down lists in other columns, however I need one column to allow for multiple selections.
Basically I have a drop down which allows for a region to be selected, my next drop down (in the next column) I need to allow users to either select "ALL", or multiple countries which fall within the region selected previously. I need a check box so that users can select multiple countries, and deselect if an incorrect country is selected in error.

I am trying to create multiple pivot tables from the same pivotcache using VBA. The data range is approximately 270,000 records with 100 columns. When I run the macro, I get "Run-time error '-2147352567 (80020009)' Method 'Add' of object 'PivotCaches' failed". Is there a size limit on the data? If there is less than 65,000 records, it works great; if I use a wizard, it works with no problems with the full dataset. If I bring the data in as an Access table, it can work with some tweaking of the code, but the size of the file is huge because each pivot is taking its own snapshot of the data. I also can only create 3 tables before it runs out of memory, so I have to stop, save the file, and open it back up to create 3 more pivots.
Dim WSD As Worksheet
Dim PTCache As PivotCache
Dim PT As PivotTable
Dim PRange As Range
Dim FinalRow As Long
[Code] .........
The last line is where I am getting the error. I am running XP, Excel 2007.
As I said, if I import an Access table, I can use the code:
ActiveWorkbook.PivotCaches.Create(SourceType:=xlDatabase, SourceData:= _
"Table_Pivot_test.accdb[#All]", Version:=xlPivotTableVersion12). _
CreatePivotTable TableDestination:="", TableName:=txtPivotTableName, DefaultVersion:=xlPivotTableVersion12
And loop, but the final file size with 14 pivots can be 500MB! I have tried both "Create" and "Add", but they both give me errors.
I am trying to create a chart that would show all of the Amount values for each Size value that is in the example data below. The Size column has fixed values. In my example the values are: .5, 1, 2, 5, 8, 13 and 21. The Amount column data is variable. Any of the static Size values can be associated with many Amount values. I was attempting to have the static Size values on the X (horizontal) axis and the Amount values on the Y (vertical) axis. I would like to have all of the Amount values for each Size value be shown directly above the corresponding size value, in one vertical line. See example below.
I an creating this type of chart in Excel 2010.
Note, I am still new to this forum and don't know how to post pictures or Excel data into my posts. I am also using dots (periods) to provide separation in my examples.

I would like to know if it is possible with VBA in Excel 2007 to select objects based on size (or above a certain size).
I would like to select all the picture objects but not the small checkboxes on my worksheet.
I know that I can select the items one by one with home -> find/select -> select object but how I could make this "find/select" conditional.
I'm using Excel 2007.
I'm building a spreadsheet which includes a few columns which have activex check boxes which are linked to cells. I want to allow the users of the spreadsheet to insert new rows if necessary. Ideally, when these new rows are inserted, the check boxes would also automatically appear in the corresponding columns of the new row (and be linked to the relevant cells), just the same way that pull-down menus and formulas automatically copy into the new row. Is there a way to do this?
I currently have the following Macro for one of my many checkboxes in 2007 Excel:
[Code] .....
It works perfectly until additional rows are added/deleted before the indicated rows in the code (It changes the number sequence in the workbook). The number sequence stays the same in the code which means I am now hiding rows either before (delete rows) or after (insert rows) the intended rows I want to be hidden. Is there a way to change the above code to remain with the assigned rows regardless of the adding/deleting of rows before it?
I have text of size 14 and 18 mixed in cells in a column. Cells are font size 18 or mixed with both 14 and 18 size text. I need to sort out the text with one column of size 14 and another of 18 only. I am thinking of copying and pasting the column twice and run a macro in first column to remove the text of size 14, and another macro to delete text of size 18 in second column. I need the leftover text to be in same rows.
I tried everywhere and couldn't find a macro for mixed text cells. I am using Microsoft Excel 2010.
