Cannot Select And Pull Down Cells To Copy After Applying A Macro

Apr 23, 2014

I was messing around with some Macros, as an issue came up where clients were pasting over Data Validated cells (thus removing the validation). Somehow though, the feature where you can select a cell, then pull the active cell down through the column (and then can copy, fill series, etc)has become disabled. I deleted all the macros, and turned them off in the Trust Center, but when I click on a cell the box and plus sign still won't display for me to pull the cell down the column.

Macro To Select Copy And Paste From Selected Cells

Feb 12, 2014

write a macro - Condition: When i select "Audit Round" = "Round 1" in B2 and press a button it will automatically copy data from B5:B8 and paste special value in C5:C8. Likewise if I select "Audit Round" = "Round 2" in B2 then it should lookup "Round 2" in "Row 4" and paste special values from B5:B8.

Here an example:

Excel 2003 :: Macro Breaks Because Can't Copy Cell And Then Cannot Select Cells In Workbook

Oct 21, 2013

i have a macro that opens 10 other workbooks and copies cells onto a "master" workbook. Until recently, everything worked fine. Suddendly, while it opens the 9 books and copies as it is expected, but when it opens the 10th wb, the macro breaks at a very simple copy/paste.

The weirdest thing is that after it breaks, I cannot select any cells neither in the opened wb nor in the master wb. This continues even after I press the "reset" button in the vba. So, I am only able to select objects (text boxes etc) in my wb and not any cells.

Also, the "arrow" icon on the design toolbar is not active. And I've tried pressing and de-pressing the F8 key, but I still cannot select any cells.

I have option explicit in the beginning of my macro. And i'm using excel 2003.

Macro To Pull Certain Cells

Mar 19, 2007

Need to create a macro that pulls certain data of a certain varying limit to different sheets, e.g. I have a sheet titled 'Data Dump' which contains lots of information specific to certain models of a product. I would like two other worksheets, one called '1' and another called '2' to pull the following information:

Worksheet 1 should pull data in columns A, B and I (in data dump) based on whether column H in Data Dump is = 1 to the total of 100 (i.e. 100 rows of information. (here an if statement would pull 100 and include empty rows, I do not want empty rows). Worksheet 2 should pull data in columns A, B and I based on whether Column H in Data Dump is = 2 to the total of 50 (i.e. 50 rows of information.

Select Cells, Then Copy Those Rows To New Sheet

Dec 9, 2009

I'm trying to create a macro that will allow the user to select a range of cells, (in column V in the attached sample), and then insert a new worksheet and copy the entire row where the user selected the cells to that worksheet.

For example: (I've deleted most of the data from the sample). The user want to create an order that has an exteded cube of 300 feet. By holding the "Ctrl" key down, they could pick and choose the parts they want to add, until the sum in Excel shows nearly 300.00 extended cube. They would then run the macro, which would copy only the rows which the user has selected in column V to the new worksheet.

Allow User To Select Range To Copy Macro Code

Apr 30, 2008

I cant seem to get to work together in the same macro but that work great seperated. I need them to be in the same macro. The first just simply copy's text from one workbook to another:

Sub Test2()
ActiveSheet. Range("a1").Copy _
Destination:=Workbooks("punchlist.xls"). Sheets("Sheet1").Cells(Rows.Count,1).End(xlup).Offset(1,0)
End Sub

That worked ok but I needed to change it to the "active cell" instead of cell "a1". So then this line of code was made:

Dim userInputCell As Range

On Error Resume Next
Set userInputCell = Application.InputBox("Use the mouse to select a cell on any sheet", type:=8)
On Error Goto 0
If userInputCell Is Nothing Then
MsgBox "Cancel pressed"
Else
Msgbox "You selected " & userInputCell.Address(,,,True)
End If

The second code works just the way I want it but it doesnt copy over the text to the other workbook. I assume the 2 codes need to be together but I cant get it to work without errors. I also need the text to copy over without changing the borders on either workbook.

Excel - Applying Color To Cells?

Sep 19, 2013

I am using two separate workbooks. I am tranferring dates into a new spreadsheet to track projects dates for milestones.

The formula I am using is this: =IF('[BBBBB Dates as of 9-9-13.xlsx]Sheet1'!$CQ$4="", VLOOKUP(W54, '[BBBBB Dates as of 9-9-13.xlsx]Sheet1'!$1:$1048576, 94, FALSE), VLOOKUP(W54, '[BBBBB Dates as of 9-9-13.xlsx]Sheet1'!$1:$1048576, 95, FALSE)).

I would like the cell to turn green if the last part of the formula is true and stay clear if the first part of the formula is true.

I also need to add color beyond just that. I was attempting to apply conditional formatting but am a bit stumped. I want the green to be maintained regardless of other formatting. I would also like to apply to cells that are not color coded green:

Red - if the date is overdue
Yellow - if the date is within 7 days
Otherwise, leave the cell color as clear

Is this possible with conditional formatting? I am not at all proficient in VBA...

Applying Macro To Entire Spreadsheet At Once

Feb 6, 2009

Example:
Company A Life $1
Company A Med $2
Company A Dent $3
Company A Disab $4
Company B Life $9
Company B Med $5
Company B Dent $7
Company B Disab $2

According to my post preview, the columns are running together, but I do have it arranged in three distinct columns. What I want to do is program a macro to do the following:

Every time the name of the company changes, I want Excel to insert two rows after the last of the group, and have a summation of the "Balance" column in the first inserted row.

This is what it should look like:

Company A Life $1
Company A Med $2
Company A Dent $3
Company A Disab $4
$10 <- (this should be directly under the $4, but I'm not good with forum languages)

Company B Life $9
Company B Med $5
Company B Dent $7
Company B Disab $2
$23 <- (same with this - should be directly under the $4)

Applying Function To Certain Cells Only Based On Another Column

Supposing you would like to find the median of numbers in column D, but only for rows that have the word "Jones" in column A? Is there a way to do this? Obviously I know I could do a sort and simply specify the range myself, but we're dealing with nearly 2000 rows and a LOT of different values in column A

It occurs to me that it would be even better if I could ask excel, in effect, to identify every separate text string in column a and then find the median of the corresponding numbers in column D. In other words I wouldn't have to type any strings from column A at all.

Applying Conditional Formatting To Multiple Cells?

Apr 25, 2012

If you have a range of cells with values in them (Q2:AZ2), you can use conditional formatting to identify the top x% of the group and it would essentially treat each cell in comparison to the group. I need to identify if a cell in the group is greater than 3*Stdev(Q2:AZ2). Do I have to create conditional formatting for each individual cell or is there a way to apply a function to the group that would recognize each cell the same way that the canned conditional formatting rules work?
