Dec 18, 2013I am working with the attached sheet and it is made up of groups of rows that alternate with a 6 digit NAICS code (industry code) then an aggregation of those codes into a more general 3 digit NAICS. I need to have the row with the 3 digit NAICS code calculate a number that multiplies a column called "% of industry" by several columns of of numbers and then sums the result into a cell in that 3 digit NAICS row. Different groupings have different numbers of rows. I would like to know if there is a 1 cell formula that can achieve this and be easily copied down the sheet to the other 3 digit NAICS rows.
You can see in row 37 this formula being executed for a simple 2 row aggregation. But that would take forever to replicate down the sheet, especially for the larger aggregations.
An example for row 32 that achieves the desired result and could be easily copied down the sheet.

Filter By Multiple Criteria Coming From Listbox That Can Be Different Sizes?
Jan 16, 2014I have a line that is commented out in the bottom - that is an example of what types of filters I want to do but dynamically. Users choose multiselection from a list box then it filters the sheet for them. It is pulling the data from the listboxes but when it is more than one item it is Putting the whole thing in as if I said text = "ABERTI", "AMALON", "BCASTE", "BGELLE", "CFRANC" - No I want to filter by each of these (it believes this is one long string)

Excel 2010 :: Countif Multiple Ranges Of Different Sizes
May 8, 2012I am using Excel 2010. I have a spreadsheet where column A is for Quarter, column B is for Employee, and columns C-R are for Codes (Code1; Code2; Code3; etc. through Code15). One line might have no values in the codes columns, another might have values in only Code1, another might have values in Code1 and Code2, and another might have values in all 15 columns.

The worksheet is named "ALLAUDITS" and the named ranges are as follows:
Quarter: =offset(allaudits!$A$1,0,0,counta(allaudits!$A:$A),1)
Employee: =offset(allaudits!$B$1,0,0,counta(allaudits!$B:$B),1)
CodeData: =offset(allaudits!$C$1,0,0,counta(allaudits!$C:$C),15)
On another worksheet I need to be able to count how many times WKH15 appears in the CodeData range within a certain Quarter. I tried
=countifs(Quarter,"2012.2",CodeData,"WKH15")
But that didn't work, and from what I can tell in Excel support, it's because the ranges are different sizes. I have over 6500 rows, so I'm trying to avoid having to name all 15 columns and then do a sumproduct on all of them, such as
=sumproduct((Quarter="2012.2")*((Code1="WKH15")+(Code2="WKH15")+.......)))
Calculation would take forever.
I could just create a pivot table based on the "allaudits" worksheet, but I can't figure out how to get the actual codes as the row headers (instead of Code1, Code2, Code3, etc.).
Make Multiple Charts That Will Graph The Data Of A Specific Name In Column
Aug 5, 2008Is there a way to make multiple charts off of 1 big data sheet. Sounds easy but there is more.
Sheet name is Field
Column A is Name ( about 40 different names)
Column B is Date (x axis primary and secondary)
Column D is Oil (y primary axis)
Column G is Water (y primary axis)
Column E is Gas ( y secondary axis)
Column M is MCFE (y secondary axis)
There is about 2-3 thousand rows, updated monthly. I need to make a graph by each well name.
1) can I make multiple graphs that can just look at the "field" sheet and then breakout just the 1 well name that shows up on the chart sheet that I create
I've tried pivot charts but you can't have secondary acess because it resets every time.

Columns B, D, & E are the ones that I am interested in charting in a line with markers type graph, but the rows may be 100 for one set of data and 1000 rows for another set of data. Apr 25, 2008I have a database in excel with a lot of tables in which lets a uses a combo box so the user select can view just one table.
I want to be able to create a macro so when a button is pressed, it copies the data into a new workbook and creates a chart so they can do whatever they want without disrupting anything in the original workbook.
I have been able to find code that will export the data and create a chart (see below) but the problem is the range changes from table to table so I need to find a way of changing how the chart picks up the data range.

So at the moment when charting ony cells A1:C10 will be plotted no matter what the size of the table is and making the target range bigger only sees the blank cells being plotted.

Excel 2010 :: Changing Default Chart / Graph Format Copied When Pasted Into Word?
Aug 28, 2012I work with a team of users that are continually publishing reports in Word that contain charts and graphs copy and pasted from Excel into Word 2010.
We have a custom script that leverages a PDF engine to automatically convert .doc files to .PDF files that we distribute electronically to our clients. This all works great, but only if all my users select 'paste special' and Enhanced Metafile Format when adding their excel charts into our reports. Most of these people aren't tech savvy, and I'm havin ga hell of a time getting them to follow this workflow and am hoping there's a way in Office 2010 to select the default paste from excel into word when the content is a chart.
It seems like the default paste from excel is an embedded chart/graph that you can then further manipulate each component of the chart in Word; the default doesnt' paste an actual image. I am assuming the pdf renderer is using a lower resolution .PNG version of the image and when these are scaled for print and or pdf, they look like crap.
Is htere anyway I can automatically change the default paste format for the chart from excel into word to be an EMF/EMV (enhanced metafile?) Either thorugh the registry or some other saveable setting?
Stop Graph From Changing Named Range To Formula Range
Sep 8, 2006I am trying to create a graph for a range of data that updates monthly (adding an extra month each time). I wanted the graph source data to update automatically each time the data is refreshed so used an OFFSET formula to identify a named range. I then point the graph to the named range as the source data.
When I enter the range as the source data the graph picks it up. However, when I re-enter the source data option on the graph it has converted the named range into a cell written range (ie. replaces "=QUALITY" with "='Front page'!$B$7:$J$10" - which therefore will not update when the range increases.

Macro Use For Multiple Graph Changes
Mar 30, 2007I have about 30 work books, each with about 10 worksheets. Each worksheet has about 2 graphs (some have many as 10).
I need to change the fonts, background colors, colors of the bars, etc. About 10 changes in all - to each graph.
I clicked on one graph in sheet 1 and recorded the changes. I then clicked on the next graph and applied the macro I made.
Can someone explain to me how I go about applying the macro I created to the 200+ graphs I have? (I am currently getting an error 91.)

Dec 9, 2011I am trying to plot multiple tables on the same line chart in Excel 2007. I have a list of X and Y values for Table 1, Table 2, Table 3 etc.
However the size of the tables are not the same for each table. For example, Table 1 might have 200 X and Y values, Table 2 might have 175 X and Y values, Table 3 might have 105 X and Y values, etc.
So when I plot these data tables on one line chart the individual plots are off center. They should all be centered at 0.

The graph is working fine, but only for a specific amount of data. The data is split into mutiple lines. From cells A1 all the way to BI1 is one row. I then have information in A4 to BI4. I would like to plot this information on a graph as a single continuous line. Is this possible?
Basically, My graph source is currently =Data!$A$2:$BI$3. This gives me two lines that I want. How do I get the data from A4:BI4 to join up to the first line in the graph.

Row Height And Font Sizes
Feb 21, 2014I am building up a formatted invoice, line by line all of which is working well from the data point of view but no quite so well from the presentation point.
My text is all in Arial 12pt and I have the row height set to "Auto" and cell alignment to wrap text (at least one cell per row often has 3-4 lines of text so I need "text wrap" on)
My issue is that the printed output from a multi row invoice looks "crowded" and as this is the view the client gets to see (and hopefully pay ) the look is important. I tried to set the row heights to say .71cm but that causes the text wrap to stop working correctly.
I think I am trying to get some form of "inside top" and "inside bottom" adjustment / fill / padding (which is what I would do if I was using some form of documentation tool like Madcap Flare for example) but I cannot see how to do it in excel.
Specified Dates As Column Titles In Bar Graph?
Jun 27, 2014It appears that the bar graph automatically turns all dates into the first day of the year in question.
For example, what I have in the source chart is the following 3 dates: 6/11/14, 6/11/13, 6/11/12, however when I convert the table into a bar graph, it changes the dates to 1/1/14, 1/1/13, and 1/1/12.

I've tried going into the advanced settings and making the intervals fixed (starting at 6/11/12 with 1 year intervals), however it does not seem to change the display.
Make Bar On Vertical Column Bar Graph?
Feb 20, 2012Is there a way to make the bar on a vertical column bar graph increase in height gradually over a couple of seconds rather than jumping from one height to the next height instantly.
eg:
if a vertical bar graph is reading data from cell b5, and b5 currently reads as 46, if b5 then changes to (let's say) 58, I'd like the column bar graph not to instantly change from a height reflecting the 46 to a height reflecting 58, but to slowly rise, showing the transition from 46 to 58.
