In Column C I need a "yes" or "no" answer to if the country code in B is listed in column A. I have 700 orders from country codes and need to understand which ones I need to charge VAT.

I have a table with two columns.
PartNumLoaction
CCN01905J6
CCN01905J100
CCN01905J200
CCN01905J300
CCN01905J400
CCN04455J800
CCN05363J3
CCP01960C1
CCP01960C3
I would like to create another table (in a new sheet) which displays the number of times each PartNum appears in the first table.
PartNumQTY
CCN019055
CCN044551
CCN053631
CCP019602
The amount of rows in a table is variable and can reach thousands of rows.

I have two very large data sets and I need to see if any of the values on one sheet (B2:B380975) appear on another workbook (B2:B216607).
I know that I can do this with COUNTIF, but it's going to take ages to calculate.
Current COUNTIF formula is:
=COUNTIF('[ORIGINAL.xlsx]data'!$B$2:$B$216607,B2)

I am trying to use lookup function to lookup for data in another table (we call it table A). Unfortunately, whenever the code is not in the table A, Excel will return the data from the previous row.... is there any possible way to prevent this... in another word, if the code does not exist in the table A, I want Excel to return 0 or some other figures.

I'm trying to see if you can look up multi columns for a number and when it finds it return back to one column and return that data?
I am trying to sort out territories for a state I work on; the territories are divided up by zip codes.
i.e.
A B C D
territory 1 12345 54321 11222
territory 2 22222 33333
territory 3 44444 55555
and what I want is to say put a formula in cell B3 on Sheet 1 pointing to cell C3 that has zip code 33333. I want it to then take that and look in Sheet 2 and search A1:D3 and when it finds 33333, return "territory 2" back to cell B3 on Sheet 1.

I have a worksheet that has data that changes each month that I need to compare to the previous month.
I would like to run a macro to check both worksheets (which I will copy into a new workbook and run the macro against the 2 worksheets from another workbook) and then the results would be put into a 3rd worksheet in that workbook.
The new month/worksheet can have additions and deletions from the previous month/worksheet, I would also like to distinguish that as an "add" or "removed"

I need to place a lookup table in a work book and I'm not sure how to do it.Below is what I specifically need in my workbook.
c. The workbook will need a lookup table that will lookup the tuition, clothing
and entertainment figures depending on the selection of college, and will
ensure that only the colleges on the list are selectable. That is, the
worksheet will not allow the user to enter another college not in the list.
The lookup list must be on a worksheet by itself at the end of the workbook.

How can I get a vertical lookup or sumIF formula to check multiple tabs for a given value?
Or - is there a way to specify the tab? For instance, put "Tab A" or "Tab B" in Cell A1, and have the lookup formula reference the value of Cell A1.

Use look up to check batches of data a return a value dependent of multiple ifs?
I have this formula from here
=LOOKUP(COUNTIF(C4:C7,""&0),{0,1,2,3},{19.9,29.9,39.9,49.9})
What I am trying to achieve is using the above can it check
C4:C7 Grouped and named "first"
C8:C10 Grouped and named "second"
C11:C13 Grouped and named "third"
If one from each group is selected it returns 1 value, if 2 of each are selected it returns a second value and if 3 of each are selected it returns a third value?
I thought by grouping them it may give me the desired results but all it does is change if I select more than one from any of the groups.

Is there a way to get Excel to look down a column for a particular value and where that value appears hide the row it appears in?
We have a series of reports which all have the same template, however we don't want some customers to be able to see some of the products as these are own-label products for which aren't offered to everyone.
I'd like to add this as a macro to a combo-box so that the user can view a report for their customer and then send a copy to the customer with the knowledge they won't see anything we don't want them to...

I get a file every day that contains online orders for a client. They have made the state and country fields on the order form free text, so sometimes the State field has CA, sometimes California, sometimes even Cal or Cali. Oregon may be represented as OR, Oregon, or Ore (and one time even Orygon.)
The country field may have US, USA, United States and sometimes United States of America.
Well, they need this data imported to their system with the states fully spelled out: Oregon, California. And the country spelled out as well: United States, Canada.
Right now I have a lookup tables worksheet that I just have a macro run a vlookup on. But I'd like to know if there is a way I could just put it all in the code, without the external tables.
i.e. some code that, in English, would basically say, "If the value of any cell in column K is among these values, replace it with those values, otherwise just leave it as it is". Could I do that while containing the two sets of values right in the code rather than on a worksheet?
I really just want to replace the standard abbreviated state/country codes with the full text, and if the value does contain Cali or Ore, let them manually make the change. Hopefully that will finally nudge them to just make the online order form utilize a drop-down list of states and countries, rather than free text.

I have a table in excel range B5:M32 with the top two rows containing merged cells (B5:M6). I need to write a macro to copy data from cells B38:C38 into the above table.
I need the macro to first check to see if there is any data already entered i.e. check if the table is empty. If it is empty then paste the cells in the first cell (B7). If the table already has data entered i need to move to the last entry then move down one cell and paste the copied cells.
I have figures out the copying/pasting functions but am struggling with the part to check if the table is empty and moving down the table without using cell references.

Ive tried using vlookup with a LEFT(cell1,6)
and a RIGHT(cell1,2) in place of other values but im having no luck.
I need to check for the first 6 characters then if the next column the value is equal to the last 2 character on the right I would like a True value returned.

I have a piece of code that duplicates all of the values in the page fields of one pivot table onto a series of other pivots tables. These can each have multiple selections
The only trouble that I am having is that one of the page fields has about 800 items in it, so looping through all of the values to make sure that they are checked, and then copy those selections into the other pivot tables is more than a little resource heavy.
I know that you can use a piece of code to see if a particular pivot item has been selected...
Code:
sheets("Dashboard").pivottables("ptcontrol").pivotfields("Year").pivotitems("2013").visible
.. but I want to know if "(ALL)" has been selected (without looping through every value). When the option to select multiple items is selected, the "currentpage" also doesn't work - it will always return with (All):
Code:
sheets("Dashboard").pivottables("ptcontrol").pivotfields("Year").currentpage
so... any takers?
This is my whole piece of code - I have changed the font to red for the bit that loops the pivot item values.
Code:
Sub pt_db_filter()
Dim wsMain As Worksheet
Dim ws As Worksheet
[Code]....

What I have is a table of employees names, which site they work at and a comment.
I have a table on another sheet with the addresses of all our sites.
What I need is a macro which will:
>look at the active selection
>copy their name(sheet 1, row B) & comment (sheet 1, row G)
>look up the site they work at (sheet 1, row D)
>copy the relevant address (sheet 3)
>paste the name and addresses into different sheet
>paste the comments into another sheet
This will be used to make printable labels for letters that we post out to employees. They will need to be split up so each name and address is printed on a different label.
The comments will be printed onto letters which will have a headers which is the same for everyone, but would be nice if they could be personalised with the comments of their managers and perhaps their names (something like "Hi John, you have been selected by your manager for your great work, please find enclosed your badge. Jeff's comments: "Comment 1""). But this part is a nice extra, the important part is the address labels.

right now, formula is simple as follows
Code:
Sheets("Shift Premium").Select
ActiveSheet.PivotTables("PivotTable3").PivotFields("DT_REPORT_DATE"). _
ClearAllFilters
ActiveSheet.PivotTables("PivotTable3").PivotFields("DT_REPORT_DATE"). _
CurrentPage = myDate
The idea is that the pivot table always displays yesterdays data.
However, there may not be any data for that day, so when i tell the macro to filter for it, I get an error.
My question is, how could I formulate some sort of iferror statement so that if yesterdays date isnt in the filter list, then it does nothing (by default leaving the filter on last populated date)?

I am building a table for staffing purposes, and I basically only need to controls to "validate"/approve the table.
1. The number of staff put in must equal the required amount of staff (E column)
2. The same staff cannot be put on twice for the same time period (which I have done by the OR(F7=G7,F7=H7,G7=H7) as part of the validation)
My problem is that sometimes I need 0 staff (when its closed), but when I leave it blank obviously it wont approve the table because of rule #2 above, since it thinks the blanks are the same staff member.
I have tried with some ISBLANK statements, but it wont work.

I have a large set of frequency data obtained from experimental testing which is dependant on three variables - a span length (from 0-20 metres), vehicle type (divided into motorbikes, cars & trucks - small, medium & large for each) & speed (20-80 km/hr).
Given a span length, speed & particular vehicle (eg large car), I need a program/formula that calculates the equivalent vehicle type (eg in 'motorbikes' - it would correspond to 'small') based on the frequency data. The equivalent vehicle frequency would be +/- say 0.5 Hz (since one type of vehicle would not have the exact same frequency as another).
I have tried experimenting with 'vlookup' functions but it doesn't seem to yield a solution to this problem.

I am looking for how to find a closest match for to a a given number in a table based on looking up the value of one cell to determine what column to look in, then compare the given number to the values in the column, and then return the value in a another column of the same row it finds the match in. Ive attached an d example.
The value in B2 is the value I am trying to find a closest match to. It first must determine which column to look in, and that is dictated by cell B3. So, since R-404a is entered in B3, column J is the column it looks in, and it returns 0.21, since it is the closest match .

I have a problem with a table I am using I need to look up two values in a table and return the the score to the relative cell.
I have attached an example of what I need. I don't know if I can use the VLOOKUP function or would it be better to use the Index feature?
I have defined a name called 'Com' which is for the whole table in the 'Com' sheet.
On the 'Results' sheet all cells highlighted in Yellow are where values are entered and contains no formula. The Green cells are the cells where I need to amend the formula so that it is more efficient.
What I need exactly is for the formulas in C4 to C11 is to first look up the values in column A and match the value in column B that relates to column A.
For example on the 'Results' sheet, if the value in B6 equals b then the formula in C6 should then look at the table in the 'Com' sheet then match 'Com 1' and then look at the response value in column B to match the rating of 'b' and then return the value of '4' from Cell C2 on the 'Com' sheet.
