View 5 RepliesI have a report that has thousands of lines... debits & credits. Most of them offset one another, 0 balance. However, there are still many w/ missing credits that need to be identied. Instead of going thru 10,000+ lines to pull out lines w/o credits - Is there a way that I can cross check the amount between lines (1&2, 2&3, 3&4 etc etc) and if their total is 0 then I want to move them to another sheet (Matched)?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI looking at attempting to combine 26 spreadsheets all into one with a macro. Basically i have 26 spreadsheets detailing all items placed into different suspesne accounts, these are on going so they can be up to 2000 lines long. All 26 spreadsheets are contained in one folder with a backup of each.
Columns B - F detail the payment being applied.
Columns G - J detail the payment being removed.
I was hoping the would be a way for a macro to look into each one and if there is data in column E (value) and not in column I (vlaue removed) then return the whole line onto a new worksheet. So basically after i have run the macro i would have one worksheet with all outstanding items on instead of having to open each one and copy and pasting.
The lines will always vary on each workbook as to where the outstanding payments is and im using excel 2003.
I have a large table in the final tab of my excel book. This table contains data such as Company name, contact details, etc but also a date which I must contact them on (this is nothing sinister, just a curtsy call following a job ).
The problem I am having is that I am running a vlookup on the first tab on a cell referring to todays date. This only brings shows one record which is the first occurrence of this date. This isn't very useful to me
The problems I need solving are:
I would like to be able to vlookup a range of dates (i.e. 7 days before or after todays date) - how do it do this?
I would also like to be able to return multiple results (i.e. if there is more than one company within that date range I would like them to show).
I am looking formula for below condition
1.Check Column A1 should not contain "$"
2.if Column A1 don't have "$" means then look Column A2 contains "$", if True means return string as "PASS"
I have two columns with the same data type (text) and I want to compare one column to another and if they match, return the data from another column.

Basically I have 19 buildings each with a separate bill of quantities. I'm looking to compare and compile a comprehensive list. So that duplicate items in different buildings can be compared side by side.
I have attached a sample of what I am trying to do.

There is no fixed pattern for the values, but they are separated by commas only. All i need is to compare col A and col B and return me the value in Col C like this,
Col C (col C is to know the removed value from comparison)
F (for line 1)
Col D (to find the letters that are added from comparison)
T (for line 2)
I have 2 columns of usernames A and B, A has approx 700 usernames and B has about 80. In column C I have a list of names 1 for each username in column A. I want to compare the B with A and if there is a match return the value in C and place it in D.

I have used the merge facility to incoporate all the worksheets into one excel files. As they all have same heading, I have sorted the data, first by their account expiry time (oldest to newest) and then by manager (A-Z)
For example, system report generated on 15/03/2013, 28/03/2013, 03/04/2013, 15/05/2013, 28/05/2013 and so on and these are sheet names too. What I want is one worksheet called report with the same heading as my merged worksheets and return values where Column C in 28/03/2013 is compared to 15/03/2013 and if the employee ID matches than return the whole row of data for the report.
the next query would then be for finding employee ID in 03/04/2013 and comparing it with 28/03/2013 worksheet and returning the matched ID in report worksheet.

I would like macro to look at sheet "Check Hours" column "E" (cell E4) and compare it against the sheet "Check Employee Hours" column "E" (cell E7). If the hours matches i would like to say OK on sheet "Check Hours" cell E4, if it doesn't match then say CHECK.
I am trying to create my own budgeting tool. I have most of the tracker set up but I hit a stumbling block. I downloaded transations from Bank of America as a CSV file into excel. I want to categorize these transactions.
I created a keyword list that has words like "Starbucks" "Exxon" etc. Each of these keywords is then listed next to a category like "food" and "gas". So I want a formula that will compare the transactions to my keyword list and return the category type. Here is an example transaction:

Here is my breakdown with names:
Workbook 1: Macros.xls
Workbook 2: MASS 162.xls
The SSN column is column C in both workbooks
When there is a match found between the SSN column in Macros.xls and the SSN column in MASS 162.xls, I need to copy the MOS cell (column E) from the MACROS.xls workbook to the MASS 162.xls workbook into the same row, but in column M, which is currently empty.
I have three cells - A1, B1, C1 and each contains a value of yes or no.
If more than two of the cells say "yes", I want the fourth cell (D1) to display "yes."
