Completion Dates - Weekend - Holidays In Office 2003

In my helpdesk spreadsheet, Column C has the date a request is received and Column D has the day it is signed off as complete.
This is used to compare how many days it takes before each request is completed.
Column B is usually blank, but, if the day a request is due to be completed is in the future, such as waterblasting set for 5 working days ahead, then the expected completion date is in Column B. As we don't want a report to show it took five days to complete, when 5 days was waiting for the booked job, we only want five days when we are working on it for five days.
So a typical request is received on Monday 1st January (C), completed on 3rd January (D), taking 3 working days to complete.
A less typical is a request received on Monday 1st January (C), booked to be done on the 4th January, (B). If the job is completed on the 4th, then that will be entered into (D). And we want it show as taking 1 day or less to complete.
I'm quite new to excel formulas , but would like to know the format for
IF B = Empty, then display the days (minus holidays and minus weekends) between C & D.
IF B = non-blank, then display the days (minus holidays and minus weekends) between B & D.
I've tried to play with the Workday function but it and the format of the IF function seem just beyond my grasp, depsite it simplicity, so hopefully a bit more insight as i get to grips with formulas would help me out...

If I am using today's date, example: 5/30. I am looking to populate the next 10 business days.
Example: 5/31, 6/3. 6/4 etc.
I want to exclude weekends and holidays. I believe the following formual works to exclude weekends, but not sure how to incorporate holidays in the mix. =workday(today(),1) for one day after today, and then just keep increasing the number for days out.

In Cells B2:B100, i have dates that which have been entered using a combo box (the dates type is for e.g. 14th March 2010 format)
I want a formula that will count the cells that have dates between 1st April 2010 to 30th June 2010 in cells B2:B100
Also, I would like a formula that counts weekend dates between 1st April 2010 to 30th June 2010?

I have a Access database as a frontend sending data via transferspreadsheet to Excel. All works well in the A2k and Excel 2k in which it was built. I need to distribute to other users and some have Office 2003 which has caused some problems with Object Libraries but I have made a modified XL2003 version to load on those systems. However, I get a Run-time error 1004, "Application defined or Object defined Error" and the debugger stops on the following line of code that should be underlined ....

I'm trying to run a macro on my machine (Windows 2000 and Office 2003) and I keep getting an error on one method. Now I tried to run the same macro on a different machine (Windows XP and Office 2003) and it didn't error out.

Is there a quick way to find weekend dates in excel? I tried pasting all 2006 dates into J2:J366 using the fill handle. It has weekdays as an option but not weekend dates. Any easy way (formula or simpler) to find the weekend dates in this range?

1 have figured out how to create an auto fill that is a mix of days in between. (When dates are not in a row.) For example, a schedule that starts a date, and then adds 2 days, then 1 day, then 3 days etc....it is for a tracking schedule. Once created those amounts are the same for for every row. The problem is, when it counts the next day, or 2 days or 3 days etc, it cannot include a weekend date, rather just 2 working days, or 3 working days etc.
Is this possible?
Right now, I start my first cell with a date, and go to the cell to the right, and in my formula, I type the previous cell address and I add (+) some value (2) to represent the day amount, but right now it includes the weekend days as well, and I need them skipped.

I need to make a schedule for testing where I check the samples every 3 days but if that date hits on a weekend I want it to role over to the monday if it hits on a Sunday and Friday if it hits on a Saturday. In other words wait an extra day if it hits on a Sunday and check the sample a day early if it would normally be on a Saturday.
I have been playing around with the WORKDAY command and some of the other date functions but I can't figure this one out.

In column A is start of holidays
In column B is end of holidays
(one date written in A and one in B, and so on)
In C and D columns are start and end dates
Now I would like to check if start and and end dates of holidays, are between those dates in C and D

I need to know the formula and/or codes to create a trigger on my excel worksheets to send email when an item needs follow-up. The workbook was created on 97-2003 but the outlook program I believe is a later version.
How I can create the email triggers. I am enclosing a copy sample of the spreadsheet I need the Macros attached to (I will need to know how to create/run macros with my spreadsheet. What I need is an email triggered to the sales rep based on the follow-up date. The email should include the quote number and customer name.

I'm using Excel 2003.
I have a Userform where you can enter a date and select a comparison operator from a combo box. Any one of these (= < <= > >= <>)
In VBA I then load a range into a dictionary object and then loop thru it to compare the dates in the dictionary to the date selected in the userform but I can't get the dates to compare correctly. I think it has something to do with the Evaluate function comparing the dates as strings but I'm not really sure.

I'm using Excel 2003 & Windows XP Professional.
I have two sets of data tables. One contains Number, Name & Date. The other contains amounts which those people have paid in 2007, 2008, 2009 & 2010. So in the below Jones has paid a total of $580 over those years, Smith has paid a total of $650 over those dates & so on.
The amounts in 2007, 2008 etc are full year amounts. I'm after a formula that can calculate the amounts for part years based on the dates from C1 to C11 by number (or name).
I've got what I think the results should be (I think with some rounding problems), but my real data has much more data.

I have been struggling to get dates to remain in a consistent format within my Excel 2003 worksheets. I would like to work out how to keep them permanently in the "dd/mm/yyy" format. I have tried several formatting options. The current method I will explain below:
I have several forms into which the 'date' is automatically entered using the - Format(Date, "dd/mm/yyyy") code. This is then saved into cells on a worksheet using the code
ws.Cells(iRow, 1).NumberFormat = "dd/mm/yyyy"
ws.Cells(iRow, 1).Value = CDate(Me.Date1.Caption)
At this point if I do a search for a date, lets say 23/03/2012 I can retrieve it and everything related to it - all seems fine (also all dates are visually in the correct format in my cells etc).
The problem arises when I exit Excel and save the workbook. When I go back into the workbook at a later time and try and search for the same date it won't work. Although the dates in the cells still read for example 23/03/2012, the search requires me to now use the format 03/23/2012 to retrieve the information (It seems like in the background the date has reverted to the US date format upon saving and yet visually it is still how I've set it up).

I am working with an amortization table and need to work out the elapsed time to amortize the loan.
Currently the worksheet is working fine and calculates the end date of the loan but the length of the column varies depending on the scenario.
I need a formula to calculate the time that elapses between the first date and last date.
The data starts in cell b13 and the last date could appear in pretty much any cell below that, so the formula will need to look for the last valid entry.
I am using excel 2003.

I have a VBA subroutine that builds a list of dates in an array and then copies this to the worksheet using worksheetfunction.transpose. The array is two dimensional and therefore uses the variant data type.
This works fine in Excel 2002. In Excel 2003 the array is fine until the Transpose function is used, at this point they are changed from dd/mm/yyyy to mm/dd/yyyy. This means that some dates are changed (eg: 01/Mar/2008 becomes 03/Jan/2008) and some are written as strings (eg: 17/Mar/2008 becomes the string "17/03/2008" and cannot be operated on as a date).
I'm aware that there was a hotfix to deal with a similar issue regarding recalculation but this is on Excel 2003 SP3 which should already have that hotfix in place.
I have reduced my code down to a basic demonstration showing the problem. This assumes the worksheet contains some dates in "A2:A32". I have also attached the workbook containing this code.

i ran some tests and it was working good only doing folders with ~100 files. i tried running the macro on all the files (~70,000), but I ran into problems with the computer going into standby while I was away. I tried running a batch of 3000 files and it completed, but only got up to around ~400 out of ~3000 records. Maybe, it stops cause of code related inefficiencies?

The macro is designed to grab a closing stock price for a date specified for a list of Symbols in column A and the date in column B. The closing price is then displayed in column D.
The problems (there are two that I found) I am running into is that when the Macro encounters a symbol in Column A and is not recognized, an error message pops up and the macro stops altogether. I want the macro to continue to run down the list but I can't figure out where in the macro it is stopping and, more importantly, how to make it continue. I have attached a copy of file if needed (if opened, you can see it stops working after row 11).

I have 2 command buttons on a sheet, one of which I would like to upgrade to delete the other, as well as itself, upon completing the rest of its functions. That's right, normal VBA isn't fun enough anymore, I want kamikaze suicidal code that wipes itself off the face of the earth.
My colleagues are... less than comfortable with VBA. I use it to produce some of the forms which I send to them, and if I could delete the code automatically after running, I'd save myself some time and/or save them some confusion.

I'm getting a "Subscript out of Range" error on a routine that was running fine a few days ago. It's part of a larger macro, so I've pasted the full code for that macro below. The problem is in the routine labled "Replace Regional Labels". What that's supposed to do (and DOES do) is to replace labels such as 110 or 11000-CSD with 11000. The error message comes up AFTER the routine has completed it's work. The offending line is:

I need to list multiple items that end in, example:at time entered there is 45:14:50 = Hr:Mn:Sec to completion, and would like the date and time of completion or just a countdown to 0 would work. I will have 60 to 70 items running at the same time with different start times and lengths. Picture queueing up items at different times to complete in different length of time and I need to be ready when each item is done. I know this is an Excel forum but I also use Apple Numbers so if either one works better I'm fine with that.
In the attached file, column R is the start time that I enter that needs to be calculated to column S. When I enter an item that takes 54hrs 23min 45seconds to complete, what date and time will it be ready.

I have the following function:
=IF(G13="",IF(H13>1,1,IF(G13>1,workdays(H13,G13,Holidays))))
The intent is to calculate the completion date against the assigned date as follows:
G13 - Typically the assign date but sometimes can be blank because someone forgets or doesn't bother to insert
For this example, let's say: 12/17/12
H13 - Completion date
For this example, let's say: 12/20/12
I'm expecting a result of '3' for 3 days
The first half of the function is intended to calculate 1 day if G13 is blank or not defined. However, when I have dates in both cells, I'm getting a "false" answer instead of a numerical value that I'm expecting.
In our workplace, we do work weekends & sometimes 7 days a week.
