Concatenate Cells Based On Dynamic Criteria

Jul 22, 2014

I am looking to write a formula that can concatenate cell A$1$ (absolute) & B1: B245 (dynamic)and then A$2$- B1:B245 and then so on.

So for example, I need to concatenate cell A$1$ & B1, and then A$1$ & B2, all the way up until B245, and then I need to restart the sequence with A2 and B1.

Formula to preform this concatenation, or will this need to be done with VBA?

Concatenate Various Cells When Another Criteria Is Complied?

Jan 18, 2013

I looking for an option to concatenate various cells but only when another criteria is complied, also to sum other value. I.E. concatenate cell "A" when the value on cell "B" is repeated, also sum the value on cell C.

A1=D1 B1=num 1 C1=1
A2=D2 B2=num 1 C2=1
A3=D3 B3=num 1 C3=1
A4=D4 B4=num 2 C4=1
A5=D5 B5=num 2 C5=1

Waited result, assuming formula on the next row:

A6=D1,D2,D3 B6=Num 1 C=3

Dynamic Columns - Filter Based On Criteria?

Feb 19, 2013

I have a 6000+ row database with 5 columns across. The 5 columns have the following headings: Hair Color, Eye Color, Age, Location, and Salary.

I have created macros that will filter each column based on criteria - for example:

[Code].....

As you can see, at cell J10 and K10, I list the filter that is used for a particular search. Some searches, will only have 2 search criteria, some may have all 5, etc.

On a separate worksheet (in the workbook), I have a "Report Tab", my question (after a long build up) is how do I dynamically change the columns and values on the "Report" tab depending on the search that I perform? For example, if I did a two variable filter (Hair and Salary), those would be the only two columns on the report - if I did all five variables for the search, all columns would be on the report, and so on.

Concatenate 3 Cells Based On Condition

Nov 2, 2009

In the workbook, 3 columns of importance Column N,S and AC. Concatenate order ("S"&"N"&"AC") - combine it and show value in column AG. Column AC has either 0 or any other number (50,60,100 etc). If it is 0 I need to insert an 'F' at the end of the code in column AG, any other numbr and i need an 'O'.

Column N has contract code, this will be in the middle, usually its alphabets like RF,EF, but sometimes numbers like 21,33, etc but when its a single digit number like 6, i need it changed to 06 (need the 0 infront). Column S has exchange codes, and this has to appear in the front of the code in Column AG. Same as Column N, if there is a single digit number then put a 0 infront of it.

Concatenate Cells Based On Values

Sep 12, 2005

I have a column say column A. It has a pattern of cells where there is a code C10A3(alpha numeric) in say A1 and then in cells A2-A9 there are descriptions (alpha only). This continues uniformally down to cell 300. So every x amt of cells down a code appears and then below this for x cells is a description. What i would like to do is create a macro to concatenate the code waith each of the descriptions and paste it in the adjacent cell to the description. So....

A1 =C10A3
A2 =Global
A3 =America
A4 =South AMERICA
A5 =aFRICA
ETC
A10 =D05a9
A11 =Global

I would like to concatenate A1 and A2 and have the output in B2 (C10A3Global.)
And A1 and A3 with the output in B3 etc. This should continues until A10 (where the cell contains alpha numeric characters) where nothing is entered in B10 and then in B11 there should be D05A9Global....
The only difference between the description and the cell is numeric characters...

Concatenate Cells Or Ranges Based On Conditions

Oct 1, 2009

I have a list of people to send drawings out to. I have already made the selections am just trying to work out how to simplify the output so as to use as a field in a data file to go onto a letter.

"| A01 | A02 | A03 | A04 | A05 | A06 | A07 |" are for Joe Bloggs
( | are cells)

In another cell, i would like to merge them together like so

"A01-A07" are for Joe Bloggs

And also as follows

"| A01 | | A03 | A04 | A05 | | A07 |" are for John Smith

would like this to be
"A01, A03-A05,A07" are for John Smith.

So differing conditions depending on what happens in the range. I have had a couple of attempts at this using a VBA concatenate command, I can get them to display like "A01,A02,A03..." with a selected separator, but cannot get it how i want it.

Pull Data From Multiple Cells And Concatenate In Single Cell Using Multiple Criteria

Aug 31, 2012

I have a worksheet entitled 'Data'. In this worksheet there is a table consisting of 4 columns plus relevant data:

TABLE 1:

Project
Benefit Type
Delivered or Enabled
Benefit

PJ1
Financial
Delivered
Saving of $4M over 24 months.

[code]....

I have been trying to create a formula that will enable me to pull data from the 'benefit' column(column D) so that the cell contents populate in a single cell in a table in a different worksheet.

TABLE 2:

Financial - Delivered
Financial - Enabled
Tech - Delivered
Tech - Enabled
Green - Delivered
Green - Enabled

[code]....

So, as an example, I am hoping that a formula can be created which pulls the text from relevant cells in column D when criteria from columns A, B and C are met e.g. Tech benefits that are Delivered in PJ2 would populate cell E3 ('Tech -Enabled') in Table 2 with:

Continued maintenance of hardware.

Increased capacity.

Now these Cells which contain Numbers might or might not contain numbers based on the "IF" function which decides wether the cell will have numbers or will remain "blank" or have "NA". To understand better please have a look at the enclosed sample (that would explain my need better)

Naming Dynamic Range Of Cells Based On Heading

Apr 15, 2014

I need to name a dynamic range of cells. The only constant is the column - H, and the heading "MRC".

MRC column in a table represents an array formula. Unknown is the row where it is going to show up and the number of rows that this array formula will take. I need to name this range (active cells based on the array formula) but do not know what row does it start with and how many rows will it take.

It is not the last table in column H either but there are 2 empty rows before the next table.

Trying something like that...

=========================
Set aCell = Range("H:H").Find(What:="MRC", LookIn:=xlValues, _
LookAt:=xlPart, SearchOrder:=xlByRows, SearchDirection:=xlNext, _
MatchCase:=False, SearchFormat:=False)
If Not aCell Is Nothing Then

aCell.Offset(1, 0).Select
========================================

That's how I select the first cell in the range. Not sure how to select the whole range and name it ..
ActiveCell.End(1xDown) ?

Concatenate With If Criteria

May 3, 2007

I created a concatenate on a co-worker's spreadsheet so I could utilize the data, and it works fine. But then I realized when reviewing the results, that there are MANY instances where not all of the fields that the concatenation pulls from contain data. I verified the source, and found out that any of these fields may or may not contain data. Now I need to account for this within my formula.

The cells being concatenated are in columns G-K, my first formula (in cell L4) is:

=IF($A4=3,CONCATENATE(G4,"; ",H4,"; ",I4,"; ",J4,"; ",K4),"")

Now I am using a "; " to separate between each cell's text. I need to adjust this formula to account for the fact that any of those cells MAY not contain data. And if it does not, I do not want the separator ("; " to show), because otherwise, I get entries that display like this:

up to 10.; ; 1.NS.1.1

If necessary, I can easily place my separator in a specific cell (M1 would be good) and access it from there rather than the way I initially wrote the formula.

Fill Cells Based On Corresponding Cells Matching 3 Criteria

Jul 1, 2008

I am working on a spreadsheet for a shoe company. I have separate columns for the size, model, color, and item number of a shoe. I get everything except for the item number from a written document; I then have to find the item number for the shoe from another excell document called the Master List.

I was hoping there would be a way to have Excell auto-fill the item number for me. For example, if a shoe is a Red, Athens (the shoe model),size 12, its item number (which can be a pain to find) listed in the row of the Master List is aaabbb. So I want to just enter in the size, color and model number, and have Excell find the item number for me, and fill it in.

I have enclosed an example. Sheet 1 is the sheet I would be working on. Sheet 2 is a portion of the Item master list, which is actually 50k lines.

How To Copy Cells Based Upon Criteria

Dec 22, 2009

Here's what we need to do:

We are compiling one master spreedsheet from many smaller ones and I need to figure out how to copy them quickly and efficiently. For example:

Small Spreadsheet:

Column B is marked as P, M, C or S. This represents the type of the account.
Column C is the name of the account.

Master Spreadsheet:

We have a column for each account type (P,M,C,S)

Can we use a formula/macro to automatically copy columns B and C from the small sheet and organize them accordingly in the Master Spreadsheet?

For example:

Small spreadsheet:

P Account Name1
M Account Name 2
M Account Name3
C Account Name4
M Account Name5

would appear in the Master Spreadsheet as:

P M C
Account Name1 Account Name2
Account Name1 Account Name3 Account Name4
Account Name1 Account Name5

Next ce
