Copy Conditional Format On Dropdown List?

Mar 5, 2013

I have a drop down list in one column which I have formatted to change colour when chosen. What I want to do is to copy the colour on the other two columns beside it when it change. I manged to do one row by adding a new rule using "use a formulat to determine which cells to format" with the formula =$D$29="Awaiting Approval" (This is just one option on the list.)

Now my problem is how I am going to copy the same format to other rows without doing it one bye one or manually i.e. changing $D$29 to $D$30 I did the format painter but it does not reflect the lists on their respective rows/list/cell.

Getting Conditional Formatted Dropdown List Items To Keep Their Formatting In List

Feb 12, 2014

I found code online that I can put on my sheet to get my formatting properties to stay the same for the items in my dropdown list located on another page. However the code does not work for conditional formatted cells...which is what I need. This is the code that I have that will carry over regular formatted cells. Just not Conditional formatted cells.

Conditional Formatting Of Adjacent Cells From Dropdown List?

Jan 9, 2013

In one column I have a drop down list of a dozen different initials with conditional formatting on those cells. I would also like to conditionally format an adjacent text string column based on those initials, but don't want to set up a dozen rules on each cell, one by one. If I set up the top cell with the correct rules I cannot fill the formatting in because the formula is not updated on a row by row basis, but en bloc for the range.

Copy And Paste Values Without Including Dropdown List

The source data is collected using drop-down menus. In moving the data from one workbook to another, the drop-down lists are carried over into the destination cells. I have used both: paste special "values" and paste special "valuesandnumber formats". The code in the else statement produces the same result as the 2 step process above it.

Copy Down Cells After Conditional Format

I conditionally formated a spreadsheet to delete all repeats. Now I have my rows numbered 1, 2, 3, 4, 9 15, 20, 26, 36 (no specific order because the number of repeats were random). I inserted a new column (A) and want a running set of numbers (1,2,3,4) starting at A4. The only problem is that when I put a 1 in the A4 box and try to drag down in the bottom right corner of the cell with CTL+Click, it copies the number 1 all of the way down. What do I do?

Macro - Choose From Dropdown List Then Copy Page To New Sheet

Jan 3, 2013

I am after some VBA code that chooses each value from a drop down list (in cell A1) then copies a separate sheet 1 (sheet 1) into another workbook (can have both workbooks open at the same time or the first step will have to create a workbook) with the name of the added sheet renamed to the value chosen from the list. When the second value is chosen then sheet 1 should be copied into the newly created workbook as well.

Sheet 1 has lookups that are updated when the new value in the drop down list is chosen

There are around 85 values in the drop down list so I'm expecting a workbook with 85 tabs (copy pasted values and formats)

Conditional Copy To List

Jan 5, 2009

I need to form a list of text (column A) and corresponding numeric values (column B) whereby the list values are placed in the next unused cell in these columns when the worksheet is updated. Placing values in the list is based on finding a TRUE value in column E.

The logic for this goes as follows:

If the value in cells E44:E1445 is true then copy the corresponding text value from the range C44:C1445 into the next unused cell in column A starting at cell A44.

and

if value in cells E44:E1445 is true then copy the corresponding numeric value from the range E44:E1445 into the next unused cell in column B starting at cell B44.

Can anyone in the forum help with this logic?

Conditional Format Dates In A Calender When Matches Dates In A List

May 14, 2009

Hi Guys, This has been bugging me for a bit now and I just can't sus it...

I have a sample perpetual calender that I have been modifying to fit my own purpose. The calender part works fine.

I have beside that a column for holidays, etc and then a another column for other events.

When I put the date in the holiday or events columns I would like the date to be highlighted in the calender above (different colour depending on which column it came from).

The formula I have been playing with (no success) is:

=MATCH(DATE($R$2,1,C8),$I$41:$I$65,0) - This is the Formula for the 1st column of dates.

The 2nd formula is similar, just changes the column it tries to draw the MATCH(DATE.... from...

Although this formula works fine on the sample spreadsheet. When I enter the formula on my sheet, it doesn't seem to work...

I have attached the spread sheet that I am working on.

Save Conditional Format Colour But Delete Condition Format

I Added Another 100 Rows this Morning and when I Tried Saving it a Message Saying that Not All the Formatting for the New Data that had Been Added had Been Saved. Is there a Macro or Something I can Run that will Make the Conditionally Formatted Cells Stay the Colour that they are but Delete the Conditional Formatting Part of it Achieved Using "Format" & "Conditional Format" from the Menu Please.

Ideally I would like to be Able to Enter the Number of Rows ( From Row ? to Row ? ) that I want this to Apply to.

Creating A Dropdown List Using Matching Data From 2 Columns To Populate The List

Jun 11, 2013

I'm creating a spreadsheet to keep track of my costs of production in an online game. Within the game there are a range of spawned resources that appear for only a short time before being unobtainable these resources have specific types that is shared between multiple spawns of the resource but each resource spawn has a unique name.

My first worksheet lists all the resources and their various qualities and the later worksheets are meant to allow me to choose from a list resources matching the requirements of the item I'm looking to craft. The example i have shown in the second picture requires Tatooinian Fiberplast and Lokian Wild Wheat to craft so in the Chosen Resource column I would like to have a drop down list allowing me to select the named resource type i would like to use - for Tatooinian Fiberplast the only thing on the list should be Omnitwixi and for the Wild Wheat it should show Fizi and Krad

Conditional Format Based On A Conditional Format

Feb 9, 2010

I have five fields that have a conditional format applied to them: (see attached).
Columns J, K, L, N and O. These conditionals highlight if a minimum number is entered. Ex. Minimum pushups for a 30 y/o male is 27, if a 26 is entered it highlights red. The total score (where I need this to perform) is calculated in column Q. It will format red if the total score is below 75 but what I can't figure out is how to make it format if any of the previous minimums have not been met.

Ex. In cell L4, his crunches were 25 (a automatic failure -- red formatting). Now the total score is above 75 so it calculates as passing (green), but I need it to highlight red regardless because of the minimum not met in cell L4.

But what I want to do is when I select either CARPENTRY, or any of the other trades from a drop-down list, I'll be able to select from another drop-down list items associated with that trade in particular. So eventually I want the master data hidden, preferably in another sheet. I searched all of Google but it seems a bit complicated to get it done.
