I have a formula in cell A1 that I need to drag downwards so that it fills cells A2 to A10. That formula is picking up the figures located in another sheet but the figures on that sheet are arranged horizontally (A1 to J1). Is there a formula to perform this action? I've tried playing around with the $ sign in my formulas but it does not work.
I have a simple reporting sheet where the data for orders place is in one sheet and on the other sheet is an imput box for 'date' and it filters through and presents a table of data and two graphs for the date chosen.
I give a daily report (contents of this sheet) but I also need to leave this sheet available for anyone to open and change to another date.
I want to copy the repor sheet into a new one and email but I want the graphs to remain, not go blank when anyone changes the original sheet.
I have some data coming in from another source system which has the date format as "DD-MM-YYYY" but while pasting it to Excel (2007) sheet some date fields has just DD-MM-YY format which disrupts my macro. I did changing the language settings to "English(UK)" ,which i wanted, and changed the same in Excel options as well. But unfortunately it doesn't work.
I am trying to set-up a formula that needs to be copied down and across and draws upon a data table that has a horizontal and vertical parameter that needs to be checked for the formula to return the right answer.
I have tried all manner of Index/Match, Offset etc but can only get one of either the vertical, or horizontal parameter working.
I have a report that was created for 2005 that contains two worksheets: a "source data" worksheet and a " pivot table" worksheet. I cleared out the 2005 data in the "source data" worksheet and replaced it with 2006 data...after this I refreshed the Pivot Table and everything seemed fine. When looking at the file size I noticed that it was almost twice its original size....upon further investigation I found that the Pivot Table was internally holding onto the old source data (the "Show" functionality of the rows/columns in the table lists the 2005 row/column headers as well as the 2006 headers....even though no data from 2005 is shown in the Pivot Table).
Does anyone know how to purge the old data from the internal Pivot Table memory?
I hope this is enough information....let me know if you need more.
I've a set of excel sheets reading from a single excel data source, the only problem is that the data source is constantly changing, for example:
=DCOUNT('T:GreenbeltProductivity ToolWeek 42[Dept Overall and Data Entry.xls]Insert Data - Current Position'!A:F,5,AC139:AD140)
The week number is the only bit of the code that needs to change week on week, to update the data source on all the sheets and I'd like to password protect the data source.
I have 2 sheets, lets say SheetA1 and SheetA2. I am using Vlookup to serial number & getting data from SheetA1 to SheetA2. But I want to modifty the data. If i modify the data in SheetA2 that modification should relect in SheetA1. Is it possible...
1. A12:F28 where some cells contain data and some do not 2. C127:D132 that contains no data
What I want to do is: If A12 is not blank I want to show the value of cells C12 and F12 in cells C127 and D127
The next non-blank cell in column A will display the values in cells C and F in cells C128 and D128
The selection of the A column cells will be random, i.e A12, A22, A15.
Is there a formula that can be written for cells C127:D132 that will make this happen? This needs to be a formula because my users (and my boss) do not understand VBA and will not accept any code.
I will use the COUNTA function in cells C127 through C132 to select the row as the number of non blank A column cells increases.
I have a database with different categories assigned to employees. I wan't to do the following. I will use just as an example, I want to some how accomplish: If Cell A in worksheet 1 equals cell C in worksheet 2, then replace Cell L in worksheet 2 from cell b in worksheet 1. Basically we have a database with phone numbers with corresponding purchase codes for each phone number and their names. The problem is, all the purchase codes are incorrect on the spreadsheet. We have an updated spreadsheet with just phone numbers and no names. I need to somehow pull the proper purchase code from one worksheet to the old document replacing the old purchase codes.
know while doing paste special whether we can copy the data in reverse manner instead of regular pattern. Here, I would like to explain my query in detail.
As you all aware that we use paste special command for multipurpose requirements such as breaking the links/transpose etc. But, here I need to copy the data from last row figure as first in the same context first one as final.
Ex: if Data is 123456 and if we paste the data by using paste special, data will be same may be in in row /column. Here, I wanted to copy the data as 654311 which means reverse. Hence, kindly guide me whether is there any command/formula for doing the same.
I have a one column spreadsheet. The column contains this data:
1 Name 2 Address 3 City 4 State 5 Zip 6 Telephone 7 Fax 8 URL 9 10 11 Name 12 Address 13 City 14 State 15 Zip 16 Phone 17 URL 18 19 Name 20 Address ... and so on
Where there may be one or two blank rows between the individual records and where there may or may not be a Fax number (or row) in the record.
I am trying to convert this data to a horizontal column format - which works fine if I do a copy/paste special/transpose. However I have to do this for 1,800 records and cannot figure out how to do this reliably.
I gave the above illustration to simplify but, actually this is a two column spreadsheet with individual row labels for every record using the above terminology. In other words the above text is in the first column and the data is in the second. Just thought I'd mention in case there was a way to do some kind of if/then formula.
reformat a table in which data for each named person is presented in one row with mutiple columns into a table in which each named person has multiple rows and one column of data. The solution to to this has eluded me so far.
I'm trying to rearrange vertically aligned data so that they are horizontal. But at the same time, I need this macro at an interval.
To give you an example,
Mr. Yang Xin 221-421-5123 Male College Grad Ms. Taylor Cindy 534-123-5512 Female Uni Grad In this case, we need the data to be arranged this way. Mr. Yang Xin 221-421-5123 Male College Grad Ms. Taylor Cindy 534-123-5512 Female Uni Grad
A B 1 Name: A 2 Address: NY 3 Gender:Male 4 Cell Numbers: 123
[Code].....
I know that this has been asked a million times, but I need the new table in a new sheet (which is sheet 2 and also I skip the Cell Phone numbers data).
I need to show data across the page, currently the data is arranged in column's, I need it displayed in row's. Each material has a number of components, it is the components which I want to show across the page, with the different headings.
I have attached the current format and the required format.
Note the spreadsheet I will be working on has thousands of materials and hundreds of components.task.xls
I have a huge data table, and I just can't seem to find a way to sum the numbers the way I want.
Here's an example of the table:
___ A B C A B C A B C A B C A B C Jan 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 0 1 2 3 4 5 Jan 3 4 5 6 3 4 5 6 3 4 5 6 3 4 5 Jan 3 4 5 6 3 4 5 6 3 4 5 6 3 4 5 Jan 3 4 5 6 3 4 5 6 3 4 5 6 3 4 5 Feb 3 4 5 6 3 4 5 6 3 4 5 6 3 4 5 Feb 6 3 4 5 6 3 6 3 4 5 6 3 6 3 4 Feb 6 3 4 5 6 3 6 3 4 5 6 3 6 3 4 Feb 6 3 4 5 6 3 6 3 4 5 6 3 6 3 4 Feb 6 3 4 5 6 3 6 3 4 5 6 3 6 3 4 Mar 6 3 4 5 6 3 6 3 4 5 6 3 6 3 4 Mar 6 3 4 5 6 3 6 3 4 5 6 3 6 3 4 ... ...
But, in essence, I need to sum together every value that's in January AND is in a column labeled "A".
I could just write up a bunch of "sumif=" functions but I feel like there's a simpler way.. I tried using "sumifs=" but I don't think it can handle horizontal AND vertical criteria...
I have horizontal records of data , datewise, if i need to find output for a particular date what should be formula, for instance for 1/21/2011 output is 135 nad for 1/15/2011 is 400. I need a formula wherein if i put the date it should throw the output of the same.
I am creating dynamic charts with a data sheet that is horitzonal. My x-axis : =OFFSET('chart data'$B$1,0,1,1,COUNT('chart data'$2:$2)-1), y-axis: =OFFSET('chart data'!$A$1,0,1,1,COUNTA('chart data'!$1:$1)-1). My formulas are giving me #VALUE. Not sure why.
(formatted general not as dates) 1980 1981 1982 1983 1984 1985 1986 1987 1988
I need a solution for the equivalent of a SUMIF combining both vertical and horizontal data. The vertical cells align to the horizontal ones, but they're in a different table.
My attempted formula is: =SUMIF($H$22:$H$30,"TRUE",D7:L7) *note that this is just an example set of data...my real data set is much larger (both rows and columns)
I need to be able to do this without transposing any of my data.
Things I've tried: - Another option I tried was making D7:L7 a named range and using the transpose function (as an array) within the SUMIF formula above. I received an error. - I tried using a bunch of IF statements added together (i.e. =IF(H22=TRUE,D7,0)+(H23=TRUE,E7,0)...); this actually works properly, but I get the "formula too long for cell" error when I put them all in (too many characters)
