Count Conditional Format Color Cells- Used Gantt Code
Sep 3, 2004I've created a Gantt chart using the tip #58. Now how can I count all the cells that are colored?
I've created a Gantt chart using the tip #58. Now how can I count all the cells that are colored?
I have a list of task owners that are assigned tasks. The tasks are mapped out in Gantt chart form with time shown by an "X".
what I want to do is to colour the cells "X" with the associated cell colour of the task owner and should the owner change, the cell colour changes.
I need to count the grey coloured cells in a column based on the value in a different column (Column I has the team that the person is in). I already have a code from a previous thread to count the coloured cells (below) but this doesn't work when using an array formula. I have also tried just selecting the cells I need it to count (the people within the specific team), but the formula doesn't work unless the range uses adjacent cells...
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a large spreadsheet which I require people to regularly complete. Due to the complexity of my business there are 180 columns, each of which has a variety of rules towards its completion.
I have used conditional formatting to check as many of the rules as possible (e.g. if somebody enters that delivery is required then the columns for delivery address cannot be blank).
Each column has the same conditional formatting but can have 1,2 or 3 rules. Min is always 1.
Most columns are fairly unique conditional rules.
There is a variable number of rows each time it is filled out (i.e. people add rows as required) but they copy and paste an existing row so conditional formatting is copied as well.
All conditional formatting rules use the "formula" setting and nearly all use many "AND", "OR" statements to make all the necessary checks.
If a cell is found to have failed the validation checks (e.g. is blank when should have an entry, has an entry when it should be blank) then it highlights the cell in red.
I now want to have a count of the number of "red" cells to show me quickly if it has been completed "correctly" or not.
I have written the vba code to check all the cells but cannot find out how to record if the conditional formatting is being used or not. "colorindex" returns the original colour of the cell not the conditional formatting.
I would like to format the color of cell A1 on Sheet 1 based on true or false values from cell range A1:A10 on sheet 2. For instance:
1. If all cells on sheet 2 in range A1:A10 were false then cell A1 on sheet 1 would be red.
2. If some cells on sheet 2 in the range A1:A10 were false and some were true then cell A1 on sheet 1 would be yellow.
3. If all cells on sheet 2 in range A1:A10 were true then cell A1 on sheet 1 would be green.
Below I have an example from A1 to V1 which have 3 conditional formatting
conditional format 1. if value is 0 then colour red and font white
conditional format 2. if value is from 1 to 10 then colour blue and font white
conditional format 3. if values 11 to 25 colour green, font black
ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUV11230507801011121314150170192002523
From the table above I want to count the cells which are in 3 different colours.
Result: Red=6 cells
Blue=7 cells
Green=9 cells
I have a drawing register that contains drawing reference numbers in column D. When a new revision of a drawing is issued it is added to the bottom of the list. What I would like to do is any previous revisions to be greyed out and struck through.
The conditional formatting
= COUNTIF($D$1:$D$100,D1)>1
works well but strike through all duplicates, I need the most up to date left without the format until it is superceeded
Hello, we have a stop light spreadsheet for status with several different projects. In each row there are conditional format status green - good, yellow - needs work, red - bad...based on data from another tab.
There is an "overall status" column that pulls the worst color that exists for a given row.
=IF(COUNTIF(F1:V1,"r")>0,"R",IF(COUNTIF(F1:V1,"y")>0,"Y",IF(COUNTIF(F1:V1,"g")>0,"G","")))
There is also a date for each row. Now we want to pull the worst color in the "overall status" column for a date range...and display that on a separate summary tab.
For 4/1/09 thru 4/15/09 - pull the worst color from the "overall status" column from that date range.
I would like some assistance please. What I want to do is search down column H and every time there is a yes in the cell highlight the full row in color, for example from A23:H23.Can this be done with an if statement/conditional formatting?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to create a simplified Gantt chart of sorts, and cannot figure out one piece of it. I'm not sure how to write out exactly what I need, but here goes.
I would like to have a formula that looks at the percent completed (which the user inputs) and multiplies it by the total duration for the task to give a total number of days completed. Then, under the corresponding dates, the color of the cell would change. I've attached a simplified version of what I'm talking about.
On the attached spreadsheet, the total duration (D2) is 5 days and the percent completed (C2) is 40%. This calculates to 2 days. With that said, I would like the cells under the first 2 days under the listed dates (E2 and F2) to change color. When the percentage complete reaches 60%, then G2 would change color, when it reaches 80%, then H2 would change, and when it reaches 100%, then I2 would change.
My guess is that the formula will need to result in a particular value, and then I'll use Conditional Formatting to do the actual changing of the cell color. Assuming this is correct, I still don't know what formula to use to accomplish this.
I'm attempting to write a conditional format formula that will change the background color based on multiple color options on in a row. I have cell A:c as first, last and middle name. I utilize the rest 40+ cells that provides dates that are conditionally formatted to based on dates. I've approached this trying to reference the columns dates and cannot figure it out. Heres what I would like to do:
If any cell in from D:Z has a background color of red, yellow, green, and none it will change the background color in cells A:C. Its easy to reference one cell but not multiple. I've attached a sample of what I would like to do and I manually changed to cells A:C to show how I would like to show my results.
I am looking to create a spreadheet that will automatically shade blocks in a gannt chart according to a list of dates.
I.e B13 & B14 will have the start and end date of the particular task or activity (this will be on another sheet)
Row A3 - S3 will contain dates, iusing a lookup formulas excel will look up the activity name (or number) and look for the relevant date, if the date listed in row 3 is within or equal to that date it will return yes, if not a no.
this seemed straightforad, but I cant think of a consistent formula that will do this, without having to keep changing it ...
I have just set up a conditional format to change the colour of my cells in column F based on a yes or no value in column E. I have a colour function formula working to sum the totals of the cells coloured the 2 different colours seperately. Since applying the conditional format. the formula for colourfunction will only total 0.
Is there a way i can apply the colourfunction formula to cells coloured by using conditional formatting
Hey Guys- I'm not sure if this is even possible but I need some help. I have attached a file below similar to a gantt chart. I need help with the conditional formatting, as I have manually changed the colors to match what I need automated.
Basically I have 6 tasks and I need to change dates for individual projects but I also need the corresponding color to also change.
I am currently creating a dashboard for my business unit.
I have text boxes in the "Dashboard" worksheet linked to cells in the "Data" worksheet.
I would like the text boxes font color to automatically update based on updates I make to the "Data" worksheet.
Example: 100% of target, font changes to Green. 75% of target, font changes to Yellow. 50% of target, font changes to Red.
My cell has a 'P' or an 'F' plus some additional text. I'm trying to change cell color based on the 'P' or 'F' but I can't get it to recognize the letters.
Samples of what I've tried:
=IF(LEFT(L23,1)=P)
=IF(MID(L23,1,1)=P)
etc.
I can 'FIND' the 'P' or 'F' but there may be a P or F else where in the cell so the color may come up incorrect. I'm trying to get it to just look at the first character in the cell. Can the 'IF' be used with CFs?
I have backwards co-workers that can't figure out how/why to use conditional formatting and have deigned it "not acceptable".
They've requested I fill in a HUGE spreadsheet and change the font color to red if it meets a criteria.
Simple enough to do with a conditional format that compares my data.
HOWEVER, now I need the individual cells to stay red and remove the conditional format (because conditional formatting "confuses" them). Removing the condition causes the color to go back to black. I've tried all sorts of paste specials (formula/format) to no avail...
The number of conditional formatting how the fill color macro How do I calculate.
ColorIndex colors with conditional formatting in VBA did not calculate.

I am looking for the best way to use conditional formatting in a Gantt chart. I want the cells to turn blue if they fall between two dates.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have attached a copy of my "budget". What i need is whenever you choose a option in A9 on PayCheck - DEC - 09 - B it will count the number of items on the right and hightlight them with a color. I use =COUNTIF('PayCheck - DEC-09-B'!E$2:E$1000,A9) in A11 to tell me the number of occurences but I would also like a visual effect with colors.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI m creating a sheet in excel where I need to do some conditional formatting but need more than 3 rules so i'm guessing i'll need to use some vb code.
Basically I have a range of cells say from c12 to ag15
These cells all have formulas in linking to other cells in other sheets.
Tha values that will be in them are as follows: s, h, hd,ooo,z and maybe 1 or 2 more will be added later. I need the cells background and text colour both to change to a colour depending on the value in the cell.
eg. cell value = s then background and text colour both to be yellow.
I have used Formula to ID cells containing a formula to flag cells red with conditional formatting in a list that do not have formula.
I need a single cell to change colour if any of the cells in the list do not have a formula. e.g. the subtotal in the top row could go red so the user can scroll down to find individual red cells.
Is there a way to count the red cells without formula in the list - Conditionally formatted cells are hard to count. I don't want to use a vba script to do it as the user probably won't run it and auto run slow calculations down.
Is there an array formula that can return true or false if not(CellHasFormula) is true anywhere in the list?
countif(AH1:AH2976,CellHasFormula) doesn't work.
In the attached example, you will find column C which has a bunch of qualitative results. Also, in the file or worksheets, you will find Table A which has a color code range.
I would like to have a conditional format down column C that will reference Table A, regardless if it's on in the same worksheet or on another worksheet within the same file?
Using Excel 2013
I'm try to get a macro to do a 5 Colour Conditional format. I've searched the previous questions as recommended, and found code that I think will do the job. I've tried to modify it to my own specs, but I can't get it to do want I want. Basically I need it to colour code the cells based on the ball number within them. As I can't get the code to work, I don't know if the colour values are correct? Also given that cells are white by default, balls 1 - 9 don't need to be part of the code do they? I've attached a small example of what I've managed so far, with the macro code enbedded. Also what's the correct way of cpoying & pasting macro code from one spreadshhet to another? The simple copy and paste seems to stop the code working correctly. Any help would be greatfully received.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI found code that I would like to use conditional formatting code as shown here. Here is the code just in case:
Private Sub Worksheet_Change(ByVal Target As Range)
Dim icolor As Integer
If Not Intersect(Target, Range("A1:A10")) Is Nothing Then
Select Case Target
Case 1 To 5
icolor = 6
Case 6 To 10
icolor = 12
Case 11 To 15
icolor = 7
Case 16 To 20
how can I get this code to work across the entire workbook and not just for the specific worksheet? I tried pasting the code into the This Workbook under VBA Project and changing the Private to Public but no go.
I would like to count cells by bgcolor if it is red.
I have already posted a thread earlier on this issue. But I could not find it in the threads.
I am looking to count the number of cells colored RED(Fill Color) in a row. How do I go about it? Please give me detailed steps and the Code in VBA.
Lets say I want the count the number of red cells from A10:F10 and get the result in G10.
I have a column that when I put info in it gives me a colour, now on this I have quit a few different labels, eg. AAG201, PRA001, 000010 and so on, now on my rule I have put in that if it is PRA* ,AAG* to be one colour and 0000* to be a colour. (this is working without a problem).
I have tried to get the rest of the row to be the same colour, but cannot get te rules to work, I do not know which rule to use to get this working.
I'm trying to use the SUMCOLOR function found on your website to sum cells which have conditional formatting (background colors with bold writing) applied to them, but it doesn't work.
I'm attaching the code found on the website as a reference.
I read some content on Cpearson but it's way beyond my understanding.
