I have a date range that I'm trying to get a total count on. The criteria is any date in COLUMN I that is not "approved" in COLUMN L and the date is less than the current date which I have in cell U5.
[Code] ......
I have a document with the following data
1: NAME
2: DESCRIPTION
3: DATE "12/15/2007" format
I would like to know if anyone knows how I can perform the following. And please excuse me for not writing this very technically I am a bit lost.
if name = "JOHN" and description = "APPLE" count how many apples there are for john.
Now it gets complicated for me because the dates are as follows. Lets say it starts 1/1/2004 the next cell might be 1/3/2204, 1/6/2204, etc all the way to 2008. I would like to find a way to say
If date = day/month/year I would like to count the whole month instead of the individual days. am I making sence? Let me give you another example.
record reads "," represent cells
JOHN,1/2/2204,APPLE
JOHN,1/3/2204,ORANGE
JOHN,2/3/2004,APPLE
I would like to be able to come up with the following
JOHN had 1 APPLE in JAN 2004
JOHN had 1 ORANGE in JAN 2004
The "TRAINING" sheet has a formula in column "R" which checks and counts clients in the "DATA" sheet.
Inside the formula it looks for a date in Column "O" of the "DATA" sheet equal to or greater than 01/01/2014.
I would like use the date (Month) as the criteria shown in Column E of the "Training" sheet, still using Column "O" of the "DATA" sheet so that the result returns the count of only those within that month's date.
using various keywords, and I haven't been able to find a solution that works. It would seem SUMPRODUCT is what I need to use, but thru all the combinations I've tried, I still can't get the syntax right. The problem is: I have dates in col A, and the word "Holiday" in col D. I need to create a formula that counts the number of instances of the word "Holiday" in col D, only where the date in col A is =DATE(2008,1,1))*(A11:A45

Is there a way to count the times a loop has occurred and be able to present a running total in the status bar of MS Excel?

My setup is - excel 2003 sp3 / windows xp
On one sheet (Data) I have a list of action items, each with owner; target date; classification and in some cases revised target date. I'm trying to report on these fields and provide a status, by owner and classification, of how many are overdue; due this month; due next month; due beyond 2mths.
Using a SUM array formula on another sheet I can count the number that are overdue based on date; owner; classification; and target date, but can't find a solution if there is a revised target date. Any guidance you can give would be greatly received.
=SUM((Data!$L$3:$L$27=D$18)*(Data!$P$3:$P$27=$C23)*(Data!$N$3:$N$27
I want to count no of "yes" in Range Column B only if corresponding values in column A is less than 10/06/2008

I have some vba code that currently copies a status table out of a worksheet, into a temp file for an email. The status table in excel has a column D which can have different status. I want to select everything in the table except rows that are 'Descoped'. Currently my code looks like:
Set rng2 = Sheets("Execution Status").Range("B2:F420")
This picks up everything without looking at the status. I want to change it so it doesn't pick up the rows where Column D contains 'Descoped'.
In pseudo code I would describe it as:
Set rng2 = Sheets("Execution Status").Range("B2:F420") where value in D5:D420 is not equal to 'Descoped'.
I have tried:
Set rng2 = Sheets("Execution Status").Range("B2:F420").Value "Descoped" and nothing gets selected.
I am able to quite easily count the number of specific values in a cell after the table has been filtered. However, the problem I have run into is that some times the data needs to be placed into the spreadsheet twice (or to be more specific the same subject is associated with several unique data points).
What I need: some way to count the instance of some give value in column D only once based on the presence of a duplicate (unique) identifier in column C. However, when I filter the entire database, it must count *only* the filtered cells and not the hidden cells as well.
Picture:
Column C Column D
111111 M
111111 M
111111 M
[Code]....
Currently calculates: M=9, F=2
Right now it incorrectly states there are 9 "M" from column D when it really should be 5 since 3 are duplicate values. My main difficulty is making sure this continues to work after I filter the entire sheet (say column ZZ) and have a bunch of hidden cells.
Equation currently using to count only filtered values (in this case "males" and "females"):
="M = " & SUMPRODUCT(SUBTOTAL(3,OFFSET(D3:D13,ROW(D3:D13)-MIN(ROW(D3:D13)),,1))*(D3:D13="M"))
1. If I enter a date in B3, then D3 will be S, and if I enter date in C3, D3 will be left blank while E3 result is D (Done). To have a clear view, I have attached the excel sheet.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWe have a few residential care homes across UK. I have a workbook where I store all our residents fees which I update daily. There are 2 worksheets on one I store list of residents on the other one I have a daily breakdown.
What I'd like to do is to use worksheet "daily" to sum fees from "all residents" with criteria like:
- carehome ("daily" row 2),
- fee ("daily" F:K,N:S,V:AA etc)
- date ("daily" C7:C1073).
While fees are on worksheet "all residents" where:
- column A has carehome name on it
- column M to AG has fees on it
- row M3:AG3 has dates on it
For example id like to count in cell F7 how many residents in Branch Court "Bc" were in residency on 12 March 2012 with £520 fee looking on worksheet "all residents" with criteria fee, carehome, date)
Each time one of the council backdates fees or changes a resident to lets say a private one I have to manually change all the numbers which takes time.

I need to create a formula that will calculate the status of a customer based upon an input code and the relevent date.
The attached workbook is very simplified but should help.
Sheet1 contains the date of input (col A) for the client (col B) plus a code in column C to help ascertain the initial status of the a/c.
In Sheet2 (col B) I need a formula or possibly a VBA solution that will create a commission status for clients with 'N' in column C of Sheet1 which is current for 8 weeks after the input date in Sheet1. Thereafter this status then need to show say an 'S' for standard commission.
This result will be linked to the date shown in B2 on Sheet2. Just to make it clear, I only need a letter as the result to trigger off the actual commission calculations.
I have a user form we are using to transfer data into an excel spread sheet. When transferring the date from a text field it is formatted as general, I need this to be a date format DDMMYYY. The cell needing formatting is N2

What I want the formula to do is.
IF Current Date is greater than Due Date AND Current Status is either Not Started or In Progress then return Overdue.
I've written it as follows, but it doesn't seem to work?
=IF(I1>C4,IF((C5="Not Started",IF(C5="In Progress"),"Overdue",""),""))
I wish to count the number of entries in a workbook based on the entries in two columns. The columns are for example H1:H100 ( date) and L1:L100 (status). I want to the number of times the date in H1:H100 is over 30 days old, as well as L1:L100 = 'Started' for example.

I have a table with 3 columns with an unkown number of rows (text, date, date) that is being imported daily.
I want to create a 4th column with dates starting from today and each subsequent row be one day earlier. I want to look at 30 previous days.
I then want to count the number of rows (looking at column 1-3) with the following criteria:

Here is what I have. 4 Worksheets. The first worksheet is a summary page. I have 350 personnel that are broken down into three different groups. So each group has it's own sheet. Here is what I need to accomplish. Results need to be posted on the summary sheet.
I need to compare cells B2 & D3 for each row on a worksheet and display the number of times they match on a worksheet. For example how many times does EP & EP match on a certain row. I need to compare cells B2 & D3 for each row on a worksheeet and display the number of times they don't match on a worksheet. For example how many times does EP & MP occur. I've attached an example for reference

I believe I need a loop code to do what I need, because none of the functions I've tried have worked. I want to start at B2 and go down the column until I come to a YES. When I find a YES, I want to know the number of NOs that preceded it. Then I want to go from that YES(#1) to the next YES(#2) and count the number of NOs between YES(#1) and YES(#2) and so forth, until I run out of rows. For example, in C5, the answer is 2, because there are 2 NOs between YES#1 and YES#2 in coulmn B, and a 1 in C7, because there is 1 NO between YES(#2) and YES(#3) in column B.
I have a spreadsheet which lists letters issued, the date issued and the potcode. I need a formula that counts, on a weekly basis, the number of letters issued to postcodes in Sutton and Bexley.
I have a count sheet set up on one worksheet and the list of postcodes applicable to each area are listed on another worksheet. I have been playing around with sumif, sumproduct etc, but these don't seem to work as I am pointing the formula to a list of postcodes and not an individual postcode. For example, the formula for one week needs to tell me, the number of letters issed to Sutton between 26/07/08 - 01/08/08. This is what I tried -
=SUMPRODUCT(('MU63 NC'!$F$2:$F$10>=COUNT!B$2)*('MU63 NC'!$F$2:$F$10<=COUNT!B$3)*('MU63 NC'!$D$2:$D$10=Sutton!$A$2:$A$50))
But I get #N/A - if I change the last refernce to a specific cell instead of a range it works, but this will make the process very lengthy as there are lots of postcodes!
I have an excel file that we add data too for assignments and I want the date to auto popuate if the status is changed to Mitigated, Escalated, or offline. I wrote the below function which works but when i open it the next date the current date is written to those cells. creating a function that writes the date when the status is change and then leave the date alone unless the status is changed again.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI need a way to find a value in a column which has one or more corresponding values in an adjacent column. Then take all of the corresponding values found and count all occurrences of the found values in another column. But I only want to count the entries if an adjacent column is not blank.
Not the easiest thing to describe. Starting to wonder if I need to think in reverse. I hope the attached example makes more sense.

I have a list of ID# (Col A) and dates (Col B). The ID # of reference is Col (F) and today's date (Col G). I need to count how many future dates there are in the list (Col B) that are unique and in the future from today's date.
I'm still fairly new to all these formulas and functions which is why I'm not attempting this in VBA.
I've attached an example work book and I would like the result in H2.

I have data in 3 columns: Name, Inclusion Date, Exclusion Date. In some instances, the inclusion date and exclusion date will be zeroed out - I do not wish to count those. What I would like to count is the rows that have an inclusion date, but not an exclusion date. Ideally, I would like to have a code so that when I run a macro a msgbox appears that indicates how many members there are.

I'm trying to use countif or similar to show how many times a given date is between 2 dates (inclusive). Each row of the spreadsheet contains amongst other info, a Start Date and an End Date. If i've got 2 rows like this:
StartDate EndDate
01/01/2009 03/01/2009
02/01/2009 04/01/2009
I'd want to lookup 02/01/2009 and have it return 2 (02/01/09 falls between the dates on row 1 and the dates on row 2). To give some context, this is an export from a database containing staff holiday dates, and I'd like to be able to see how many people will be on holiday on any given date, given the start and end date of all holiday occurances throughout the year.
I have a spreadsheet which I use to track when a work request is recieved, when we confirm the request and when we action the request. I have been trying to write some code to count the amount of requests, receipts and actions we have processed in the last month.
My first column shows who the request is from
The second shows date recieved
The third shows date we send receipt
The fourth shows the date actioned.
