Countif For A Range Of Percentage
Jul 9, 2014I want to count a range of percentage how many items fall under the % range below:-
from 0% to +- 10% (equal or +-10%)
from +-11% to +-20%
from +- 21% to +-30%
from more than +- 31%
I want to count a range of percentage how many items fall under the % range below:-
from 0% to +- 10% (equal or +-10%)
from +-11% to +-20%
from +- 21% to +-30%
from more than +- 31%
I'm trying to figure out 2 seperate formulas - see sample data below:
1) how many are 0% (Answer: 3)
2) how many are greater than 0 but less than or equal to 24. (Andwer: 2)
I can't come up with the 2 calcs.
There is a formula in cells below (Example: =$BA150/$BA$3). Will my calculations just not work when there is already a formula in that cell?
14.3%
71.4%
42.9%
71.4%

This one sounds easy but I have spent a lot of time on it and no success. I have a list of students with various levels next to each name. EG: 4.5, 5.6, 5.7, 6.1 etc. From this range I want to work out the percentages of achiveing Level 5, 5 and above, Level 6, 6 and above. By doing a countif it counts 5 not 5.1 5.2 etc. How do I get over this? Attached is a sample.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI ahve compiled a spreadsheet that calculates how many wins an individual has as part of a team. I am entering '1' if they win and '0' if they lose but auto sum obviously doesn't add the 0's up to calculate how many matches have been played in total. I need the total matches played because I have a formula in place to calculate % of matches won.
Is there a formula I can use to add 0's and 1's or YES & No's up to total the amount played?? ( Adding up a vertical column. )Please help. I've spent days trying and I'm getting nowhere fast.
I need to be able to work out a percentage based on a value range. ie.
Cell D2 to D5 will define the percentages (so I can adjust it and play)
D2 = 18%
D3 = 15%
D4 = 13%
D5 = 10%
I need to work out:
If the value in cell A10 is between 11 and 200 calculate on D2, if between 201 - 500 calculate on D3, if between 501 - 2000 calculate on D4 ect ect
Cells A10 to A100 will have some figures put in them.I then want to calculate the %value used based on weather the figure in one of the A10 to A100 cells falls in a range. The data being put into the cells in column A will vary from report to report.
I'm trying to automate the calculations :
I'm trying to do a forecast of my organization's budget for the next five years and need to create scenarios where certain figures will either be increased or decreased by a specified percentage that varies from 5% to 20%. I have recorded eight macros that can accomplish this task, but I feel like there must be a more effienct method.
In addition, I would like to increase or decrease the figures from either column H or column J. Column R is the results column. This is the macro I recorded that provides for a 10% decrease:
I have a little table:
Columns A:B (separated by commas)
Row 1- Year One, 20
Row 2- Year One, 20
Row 3- Year One, 10
Row 4- Year One, 30
Row 5- Year One, 20
Row 6- Year One, 20
Row 7- Year Two, 10
Row 8- Year Two, 20
Row 9- Year Two, 20
Row 10- Year Two, 10
Row 11- Year Two, 20
Row 12- Year Two, 40
In the adjacent cells in columns C (C1:C12) I need a formula that would turn the value into a percentage of the total of the values for that year (e.g. in C1: 20 is 16.7% of 120, so the value displayed would be 16.7% (or 0.167)).
I have a set number in col A for example 100. Col B is variable value. And Col C is where I need the formula.
If for example Col B is within 5% of Col A return value of "G" in Col C.
If Col B is within 20% of Col A return value of "A" in Col C.
If Col B is under or over 20% ( example if Col B is 79 or 121 ) of Col A return value of "R" in Col C.
Pretend their are two Tabs in excel.
Tab 1:
"A1" contains a random number: "20"
Tab 2:
Column "A" has tonnes of random numbers:
6000 - Starting Balance (changeable)
5890
5800
5950
6080
6100
6180
6250
6300
an so on... (1,000 rows)
Based upon the number "20" that I placed in A1 on Tab 1, I want a formula that looks at the first 20 rows in column A within Tab 1, and then calculate the percentage change between the extreme "peak to trough" of the highest number to the lowest number within the 20 rows...
Below should make it really simple:
6000 - Starting Balance (freely changeable)
5890 -1.83%
5800 -3.33% - This was the lowest percentage change from the starting balance of 6,000
5950 -0.83%
6080 +1.33%
6100 +1.67%
6180 +3.00%
6250 +4.17%
6300 +5.00%
I have a number of columns, each containing several thousand points. For each column, I need to know the percentage of points that are within a certain percentage (1%, 3%, and 5%) of a target number.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have two columns A and B. In each column are a list of numbers. I want to count the number of times the numbers in column A are greater than the numbers in column B and display it in the form of a percentage. An even easier way for me to do what I need is as follows...I have a third column (column C) that subtracts A from B...if it is a negative number, the cells in column C are autoformated to color the cell red. If it's a positive number, the cell is colored green. Is there a way I can count the number of cells that are red and divide them by the number of cells that are green to get a percentage?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a column of equipment average utilization percentages. This column is a dynamic name range called "Avg_Util".
Values in this range were created by a calculation that results in a value of "", for equipment which have no utilization as yet, to those with a utilization of anywhere between 16% to 160% for those with actual hours in service.
I need to count how many have a utilization of <=50% and those that have a utilization of >=150%.
COUNTIF didn't work because it apparently counts the "" values (as zeros?)? I didn't fare much better with SUMPRODUCT either, but that could just as easily be the fact that I'm still new to that function. I get the feeling I'm overlooking something regarding working with percentages here to be having so much difficulty with something that just doesn't seem like it ought to be that hard.
Cell A1: can contain any number between 1 and 4 (with two decimal places, i.e. 2.36 or 3.99)
Cell A2: based on what number is in A1, this field should return corresponding percentage (%), based on the following criteria:
1: is 100%
2.99: 1%
3 (including) and less (all the way to 4): 0%
Note: percentages between values 1 and 2.99 are equally spread
So let's say, when:
A1 is 1.00, then A2 should return 100%
A1 is 3.26, then A2 should return 0%
A1: is 1.25, then A2 should return 92% (or whatever percentage is correct based on above described criteria)
I'm attempting to do the following:
A1 contains names of projects.
B1 contains variances from budgets, being positive or negative numbers.
C1 will contain results.
I need to know which of the B1 cells contain a number equal to or greater than 20%/-20% and output the names in A1 that match the criteria to C3.
I want to count if cells in a specified range =yes then divide the range to get a total percentage of yes cells. I have a data validation list set up with the values: yes, no, n/a. I don't want the total percentage to change when using n/a.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a spreadsheet with several columns that have percentages as a whole number and with a decimal format. I need assign a score value to the cell that contains a percentage depending on a range.
For example:
If cell A1 has a value between 97%-100% then A2 should display "15", however if A1 has a value of 90%-96% then it should display "12" and if A1 has a value of less than 89% then it should display "0".
- Column D includes dates.
- Column E includes text, either "Yes" or "No".
I want Excel to count all cells in Column D between 1-Jan-2009 to 31-Jan-2009 + any cells that say "Yes" from Column E on the same row.
Is ther any way around not being able to do this - I read that if u make the ranges an array it shoul work - Shift, Control, Enter - or something but I can get it to work. I was hoping to use copuntif for this :-
COUNTIF(F33:F39,M33:M39,T33:T39,AA33:AA39,AH33:AH39,AO33:AO39,F67:F73,M67:M73,T67:T73,AA67:AA73,AH67 :AH73,"b")
How do i create a formula for countif with range name
I did create a formula =COUNTIF(C2:C868,"NS") but it show 0
NS range name contain working shift

7:00 - 16:30
7:30 - 17:00
7:45 - 17:15

I have a column with multiple data entries ( dates, amounts, percentages, etc).
From these I want to count how many dates are after the selected date.
But I am unable to pickup date cells selectively.
i.e. counif ( {A1, A6, A11, A16, A21, A26}, >=1-Jan-2009)
But the function is giving error as it only accepts ranges.
I can use countif(A1:A26, >=1-Jan-2009)
But the problem is some numerical values are also in the same range ( as the numerical format of dates) - so I am unable to use it.
I would like to compare % difference between date range through pivot table
Date RangeProductAmt
1st weekABC1000
2nd WeekABC2000
3rd WeekABC1259
1st weekXYZ3000
2nd WeekXYZ4000
3rd WeekXYZ2500
How to plot a Pivot table to compare the % difference between 3rd Week Vs 2nd Week Vs 1 Week for each product through pivot table?
I am trying to create a formula that shows a percentage of cells within a range that contain a particular number. This percentage is based on another cell, which is the total number of all audits. Each audit has rating columns, with a numeric value indicating it's rating. I need to count those cells within the range that equal the numeric value assigned to the rating, and then divide that total by the total number of audits to obtain a percentage of calls with each particular rating in each category.
Here is an example of what I'm trying to accomplish:
A1 = 2 (Total audits)
B1 = 07/31/2009 (Date of first audit)
C1 = 3 (Rating of first category)
D1 = 1 (Rating of second category)
E1 = 2 (Rating of third category)
F1 = 08/03/2009 (Date of second audit)
G1 = 0 (Rating of first category)
H1 = 2 (Rating of second category)
I1 = 2 (Rating of third category)
The percentage of audits within the first category that have a rating of 3 would be 50%.
The percentage of audits within the second category that have a rating of 3 would be 0%.
The percentage of audits within the third category that have a rating of 2 would be 100%.
I have column A fill with dates and column B with customer code. I'm looking to count the number of time the customer code (column B) is repeating but ONLY in previous year. Meaning that the count range must be adapt for each customer code. Will a countifs is able to work with this request?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am trying to solve a a problem that I am having.
I have a list of projects in one column and start dates in a different column.
I want to create a dashboard that breaks down projects by month, quarter and year to date.
I have tried various formulas centered around CountIf. Bottom line is I want to review a column of dates and determine how many projects started last month, etc.....
I want to count all cells over 1000 and then I want to count all cells over 990, but less than 999.
These are the formulas I am using
=COUNTIF(CN3:CU65,">=1000")
=COUNTIF(CN3:CU65,">=990")
In this formula, the over 990 also counts the ones over 1000 and I only want them to count 990 to 999.
I am trying to use the COUNTIF function but over a selectable range. in other words instead of a fixed range like =COUNTIF(A1:A11,"=yes") I want to be able to choose the range Axx:Axx selected by drop down menus.

I am trying to determine how many times a value occurs in each quartile in a data set, with the range of my quartiles changing for each row.
Above is a simplified sample of the data I am working with. What I would like to do is calculate the length of a quartile for each row, then determine whether "Red" is in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th quartile
Right now I have two output tables. The first is a "Quartile" table, which for each row counts the number of values entered, divides by four, multiplies by the appropriate quartile and rounds down. For this I use the function
=rounddown(counta(range)/4*(quartile))
For Q1 in this dataset, that is =rounddown(counta($B2:$I2)/4*(1))
Then I have a table which calculates whether "Red" occurs in each quartile, with references to the cell values in my quartile table. My formula for Q1 here is
=countif(index(row#2,1,match(Q1 value,$row#1,0)):Index(row#2,1,match(Q1 value,$row#1,0)),"Red".
The actual formula (can be used if pasting table values into excel) is:
=countif(index($B2,$I2,1,match(Q1,$B$1:$I$1,0)):index($B2:$I2,1,match(Q1,$B$1:$I$1,0)),"Red")
Where Q1 equals my rounddown formula noted above, returning "1" in this case. For subsequent quartiles, I change my reference in the Match formula to start with the previous quartile +1, and end with the current quartile.
I want a conditional format change to happen when certain criteria is met.
I have a conditional formula in column F
Let's say F173
If the value in A173 value is found anywhere above cell A173, then make a blue box surrounding cell F173.
I want to be able to copy this conditional format down column F
