I'm currently working on a spreadsheet for my husbands work in a school environment. All was going well until I hit a wall with the alphanumeric data of the current uk stats system. Is there any way of getting my 4c...4b...4a...etc. to chart?
I've prepared an excel file (excel 2007) with some tabs that contains several charts (4 to 6 charts). When I want to print this file, the sheets with the charts on it doesn't print properly. I have set the print area to cover the charts only and then set it to fit on 1 page but the charts will not scale to fit.
I read somewhere that this is an excel bug - is there a workaround for this?
I could resize all my charts smaller but only as a last resort.
I know about using countifs and or but utilizing sum(countif(..... [all because of this site] - but I have a statement that is quite long and is confusing me when trying to reduce it... if not then I can just use this and it'll be fine... but I would really like to reduce it if possible... here it is:
Basically I have a Data sheet that has 19,000+ records that have data from A to AJ... I am tasked with trying to find how many open work orders there are in our company on each given day that were submitted 30 days prior to a specific date. A = Region, AA = Date Submitted, AF = Date Completed and AJ = Days open.
Code: With ActiveSheet.ChartObjects("Chart 2").Chart .Axes(xlCategory).TickLabels.Font.Size = 20 End With
But this code throws a "This Object Is No Longer Valid" error when it gets to the first .Axes line:
Code: Sub ChartFormat() ' ' Format Charts macro ' Dim ch As ChartObject For Each ch In ActiveWorkbook.Sheets("Summary").ChartObjects With ch.Chart .Axes(xlCategory).TickLabels.Font.Size = 16
I have a long (about 180 000 rows) list of part numbers, descriptions, prices and quantities. There are many duplicate part numbers. I need to go through and find the duplicates, add all their quantities into one cell and delete the remaining duplicates. I have used conditional formatting to find the duplicates easier but cannot use the remove duplicates button as it will delete the whole row and I need the quantity information in each row.
Any formula or macro I can set up to search the part number column (F) for duplicates and add the figures in the quantity column (J) and THEN delete the duplicate part number rows?
Maybe I need to put the new combined information in another sheet?
I'm using Xl 07 and need to combine two sheets of contact info and have them sorted alphabetically.
Each contact entry takes the follwing form(comma's denote new columns)
55555, Name , John, Smith, Tel: , 555-555-5555 ID , Company, XXX , , Email, xxxxxx
Each sheet has a list of 200 or so entries about 400 rows long. The entries on each sheet are sorted in alphabetical order. the names also alternate alphabetically from sheet to sheet. So when i look at the entries on my final sheet, the 1st will be from sheet1 the second from sheet2 the third from sheet1 and the fourth from sheet2 etc.
I'm not sure whether I should build a new list by pulling alternating entries from each sheet or just copy one list below the other and then try to sort it somehow.
Using Excel 2007. Is there a straightforward way to do a waterfall chart?
eg. stacked bars running from left to right. First Column = 2011 Headcount 2nd Column = stacked bar with additions (by category) - stepping up from the 2011 total. 3rd Column = stacked bar with reductions (by category) - steppind down from the first column + 2nd colum total. 4th column = 2011 exit (which will be at the same height as the bottom of the 3rd column).
I am trying to create a 100% stacked column which has a superimposed line chart over the top of it.
Basically % of yes and no for two separate datasets, but which share the same characteristics. The x-axis is months of the year.
CSP Yes CSPNo All Yes All No
Apr-13 6 19
[code]....
I can create 2 separate charts. One for the yes/no of one set as a 100% stacked column. I then use 'no fill' on the No column to stop this from being seen.
I can create a 100% line chart for the second data type, and 'no fill' the 100% line that appears.
However, I can't merge the two charts to show the Yes % for one dataset as bars and the Yes % of the other as a line.
The title in the attached chart is a camera shot transferred from another excel 2007 worksheet in the same workbook.
I'd like to remove the border line, I've tried right clicking... then format picture ...no dialogue box comes up. I've scrolled through all the commands in the ribbon + non ribbon commands and can't find anything that seems appropriate that's not greyed out ....
I need to have two area charts combined, but they have different x and y values. Is there another way to do this. When I try to combine them in one graph, I can only use one x-axis value.
I used a "MID" formula to extract some data and for some reason the chart I'm trying to use won't recognize the data. Here is a copy of what the data looks like. Non of the vaules will show up on the chart. I have made two line charts from a selection of data and added "shapes" to fill certain areas under the lines. Is there a way of doing this within the chart rather than adding a shape over the top?
File I have attached or made a link for here Untitled-2.jpg
I am trying to make that amazon cell, all text to appear as one line like the second line foreign conversion fee i want it to appear like that. Rather then having to delete and modify 100's of rows like this.
I have created a line chart that plots weight of a person, but want to show on the plot area what a certain range of weight represent, Ive attached images to show this concept.
I need to show a chart with new and return visits 2 years side by side. I also need to show a budget line and 2 seperate utilization lines. How to show this.
I have a piece of code that arranges a chart to fit the data it should show. The code used to work perfectly in the old Excel version, but after an "upgrade" to Excel 2007 I get "Automation Error" from the line where the scale type is set.
In the old Excel it is possible to rename a chart by pressing SHIFT+Mouse Click and then write a new name in the upper left corner name box. You can apparently do the same thing in Excel 2007, but the new name doesn't stick.
I have a spread sheet with product codes on and 5 different prices types but they have only pulled through 4 times so need to insert a 5th line for each product code
I had the following code that worked great with Excel 2003, but I receive an error with Excel 2007.
Dim Master As Workbook Set Master = Workbooks("Master.xls")
For Each wb In Workbooks wb.Activate If wb.Name Like "S04*" Then _ If Not Range("A2") = Empty Then _ Range(Cells(Rows.Count, 1).End(xlUp), Range("A2")).EntireRow.Copy _ Master.ActiveSheet.Cells(Rows.Count, 1).End(xlUp).Offset(1) Next wb
I receive error 1004 "application defined or object defined error" when it tries to paste to the "Master" sheet using the the above lines.
Is there something in the formatting that has changed with 2007? I'm guessing I have to slightly change the line in bold.
I am trying to graph the following data in an area chart with line charts superimposed on the area chart. I have a lot of data (and a lot going on) so I'm trying to figure out the best way to show this in excel from a functional standpoing (i can't get this to work in excel!!) to also an asthetic standpoint (dont want it to look terrible or illegible). This is what I'm trying to chart:
1) Weather data (temperature) by region: So one region, would be: Northwest I would like the "area" (so a shaded region) to be the min/max of the temperature data for each month.
2) I would like to show the temperature for each year as a line graph on the chart - so you can see if a year falls in or out of the shaded region.
3) I would like to show a company's sales increases across the same months per year as separate line charts. I may choose to just show the biggest outlier year in the end... or to show 2006 (the latest data).
What I am trying to convery with the chart is that the company's sales is or is not tied to weather deviations. I have attached an excel file with the data. I haven't been able to use the area chart or get a two axis chart to work or get it to look even remotely professional.
I have to enter data into a spreadsheet daily and update a line graph with the data for 10 different production machines. I want to place the charts on their own separate excel file that way they can be easily viewed without the data next to them. I tried copying and pasting the graphs to another excel spreadsheet, but when I update the graphs on the original excel file the data does not change on the one I copied the graphs to. I use the select data range option to update the line graph data. Basically, I just want both graphs to update at the same time on both spreadsheets, but the links don't seem to update. How would I link the graphs so that both update across files?
I've got quite of few excel charts to make and have been looking for a way to automate the process. The chart types include line, pie, and bar. Basically, I have data for each state in the US that I am comparing with national level data. Thus each chart will have national level data and the data for each state. What I need is a macro that I can easily change the parameters for because different worksheets have slightly different layouts. I started by using the macro recorder to make a chart. Then I attempted to edit it so that it would run loops to make additional charts. Below is some sample data for the first worksheet I have and my attempted macro.
Sample Data:
Code: State Characteristic Value07 Value08 Value09 Alaska A 11 23 45 Alaska B 13 22 98 Alaska C 99 91 21 Alabama A 23 14 11 Alabama B 44 62 76 Alabama C 75 47 21[code]....
I have a simple problem. I have many worksheets which all contain data in the first four columns. I want to be able to create a chart (a scatter chart) in the first worksheet which plots the data on that worksheet and then format it how I want it to look. This I can do.
Next, I want to copy and paste that graph into all the other worksheets, but have the pasted graphs display the data in that worksheet.
As it stands, in Excel 2010, all the pasted graphs keep showing the data in the original worksheet irrespective of which worksheet I now have them in. This seems to be different to older versions of Excel and is very annoying and has to be changed by hand which is very time consuming.
How can I make charts that don't have the worksheet name in the cell reference, or how can I paste a chart so that is updates the references to the same row and column but in the new worksheet?
I know I could copy and paste the entire worksheet and then manually copy the new data into that copy of the worksheet - but that is not a real solution to this problem.
